We usually on Wine Wednesday's ($2 house glasses and $8 house bottles of wine) and while that means usually a wait for a table, the service and food is always very good for how busy they are. Pizzas always cooked to perfection with lots of good ingredients, and pasta dishes are great too. Various specials every day of the week that are worth considering as well. I got the "Pollo alla Francese" based on the waitresses opinion and it was terrible. I've been to places where this price reflects fresh pasta and this place was NOT fresh pasta at all. The dish lacked salt in all Components. Maybe I'm just use to California where Italian restaurants are taken seriously. The noodles were obviously store bought. The sauce was extremely watery to the point that you couldn't even taste the bitterness of the capers. I should have just ordered pizza. I'm assuming all the pasta dishes are just as bad. If you're not going to use fresh pasta, atleast make sure your sauces are on point. It's safe to say I won't be back here nor recommend too others. UPDATE: Just threw up. Way overpriced! I had dinner with a group of friends on a week night. My dinner alone was just over $60! I had a salad, entree, and glass of wine. Nothing fancy or special about my meal. It took way too long for us to be acknowledged and get water after being seated. We honestly started wondering if we were forgotten and had to get a server's attention. We've been twice now and both times I was impressed by the food and service. Nice outdoor seating. I loved the bruschetta and the cheese bread. My husband had pizza with prosciutto on it which I'm not a fan because it made it really salty. He loved it though. I wasn't super impressed by the ravioli. It wasn't bad, just sort of bland. I have been dining here for 13 years and something has changed. The food was "ok" and similar but not the same. The pizza dough was under proved and flat. Desserts were as cold as hell and disappointing ,after we had to ask for them. Entires meal was poorly timed overall and the server distant and terse. Not a great vibe. Went to Goodfellos on recommendation that their pizza was amazing. Visited on their wine Wednesday, shared a bottle with the wife had pizzas all around the table. Food was amazing, flavors were perfect ingredients were fresh. Kids enjoyed it. Atmosphere was enjoyable. Waiter, was friendly and accommodating, and not overbearing. Used a credit card to pay, was notified by the credit card company that I used of two fraudulent charges. This was the only place I had use my credit card in the last month where the card was out of my possession and site for any period of time. Just be wary of businesses that deem this acceptable to hire thieves. I tried to call the restaurant the day of the fraudulent charges, and no one answered, and was unable to tell them about this. read more

So I tried this place a couple times here in Sackets and well I am sad to say each time there were problems. The first time I ordered pizza and some pasta. Pizza was okay, positive it's brick oven pizza, but that's about it. The pasta, well was different. The chunks of chicken, and vegetables were far and few between. Made a reservation upon arriving placed on the other side of restaurant outside. Drink order was forgotten, food took a long time to get to us. When we got it it was COLD. Tasted like it had been sitting a long time. Not once did I ever see a manager or anyone come outside to check on patrons. I love this place! For years, this is the only restaurant around to continually provide consistent, delicious food in an environment that makes you feel cozy and important! I bring work colleagues here, family, my significant other. It's always wonderful! On one occasion this past summer, my boyfriend and I were dining outside and we had a wonderful evening of several courses. I took only a small bite of my ravioli entree and had them box the rest to go, because I knew I'd want to enjoy their incredible peanut butter pie for dessert! When I heated up my leftovers two days later, I was enjoying when I noticed a wasp had been mixed into the spinach! (I'm a chef - I've seen a multitude of weird things in food, so it didn't creep me out like it might've done to someone not in the food industry.) I was sad, because I wanted to eat the delicious food, but didn't want to take another bite in case there were pesticides that wasps might've been treated with to help get rid of them around the building. (We didn't see any wasps or bees while dining outside. My boyfriend is very allergic (needs an epipen) to wasp stings, so we would've noticed this and moved to another seating area. I figured it came in through an open door to the kitchen, or maybe it was even in the spinach from their supplier. I contacted the restaurant via private message on social media and was connected with the owner. He called me and listened to what I said. I listened to him, and knew that they were a clean and organized kitchen, as I've dined with them for years. I really just wanted him to know what had happened in case there is a wasp problem - this could be tackled before another problem arose. He was gracious and offered me a gift certificate to dine there in the future. I have to say, as a chef and business owner, I am so thankful for fellow business owners who accept responsibility even when it seems like a weird out of place scenario. (I've had to do this in my own business.) I will forever be a faithful patron of Goodfellows and even more so now that the owner took time to make things right. You will likely not encounter a wasp experience like mine, but if you do, rest assured that they will work to maintain their stellar track record of providing an amazing experience for their guests. We've been patronizing Goodfellos for years, but the last 2 years we've been disappointed. The food quality has changed; the salad got smaller, the pizzas have much less topping, etc.. Ordered take out a while back, waited and waited for our order, just to find out they did not have an order for us. We were then told quite rudely we had to wait. We returned home 1 1/2 hours later (no joke), just to find our order wrong. We just left it be. Tonight we had a reservation for 7 people and when we got there, the hostess seemed confused about our reservation and told us it would be a little while. People came and left, nobody ever went to collect us. After waiting more than half an hour outside, we went to talk to the hostess again and she informed us that she did not have a reservation under our name. When we asked her to check to see if they had our reservation under our phone number, since they took both our name and number, she said a phone number would not help. We were then told they would get us seated in another 15 minutes, but it would be tight. Another half hour went by, but nothing happened, so we eventually just left. Later on we had 2 missed calls from Goodfellos a....so how did they get our number if we did not have reservations? Not planning on going back anymore! We are wood fire pizza junkies! The Jeremiah , with its combination of mozzarella, provolone, chicken, caramelized onions ,walnuts ,bacon and feta on A Perfect crust was a satisfying and savory fix! We enjoyed the extensive wine list and St . Francis Chardonnay blessed our Mother's Day celebration with joy in each our glasses. Fun place with a bar, inside and outside seating, family friendly and decent pizza. It was a little taste of Italy! First timer here-- I came for lunch around 1230 after a long hike. There were a few people sitting outside on the patio, and inside wasn't full at all. My server Tracy, greeted me and asked what I wanted to drink moments after being seated by the host. I ordered 1/2 Caesar salad $10 and the Prosciutto y Fico pizza $18. I was very surprised of how quickly my food came to my table. My entire meal tasted fresh and it was delicious! Tracy checked on me at least 3 more times and she was very pleasant to interact with. This is a really high-quality designer pizzeria. Prices are definitely comparable to the rest of secretary which is a generally pricey area. Quality is what it should be for the price. Portion size might be a little bit light. I would definitely go back as I have gone back multiple times already and I would recommend this to other people. But not anything for daily use definitely for less often or Special occasion quality. They really didn't have any options on the menu under $14 and $15. read more
