Their appetizers were very good - had the meatballs, caprese bruschetta, truffle fries, and the duck wontons. Definitely suggest eating on the patio. I was a guest staying at this over rated out dated over priced hotel full of dust and rust along with rooms full of broken moldy furniture. it's more like a air BNB apartment from HELL. I mistakenly decided to get a drink and a meal with my family at the good fellos bar downstairs from this atrocity when we got a drink from the male bar tender working Saturdays who over an accidental broken glass made an unprofessional and snark racist comment implying he was annoyed by our presence and "does not care because he runs the place" (apologizing multiple times) we decided to pay the bill and leave before any physical altercation happened due to his (friends) who along with him and the manager Jeff ganging up on us. working in costumer service in NYC myself I have never been treated with such disrespect. We ordered a pizza from here. I really liked it, the sauce was a bit too acidic for me. The husband did not like it, but, I think he was thinking it would be a NYC style pizza and this is more gastropub/Italian family restaurant. Personally I'm not a fan of their pizzas but I love their pastas. Good food, good service, great vibe and by far the best option in the area for dining. Took off a star because for the quality they are overpriced compared to like price point restaurants in other cities, even Syracuse. But, supply and demand! Can't say much about the place as we only had a couple of drinks and an appetizer, but the fried calamari was pretty good. A little over-seasoned but the spicy tomato sauce was great. Drink selection is a little sub-par and my draft beer wasn't exactly cold but the place is really nice on the inside. When I asked the bartender if there were any drink specials (which seemed reasonable for 5:30PM on a Thursday), she laughed and said "not on alcohol." I would've given 1 star but our grandson had pizza and said it was good. We had a party of 6 yesterday for lunch. I ordered the Pear and Rocket salad. The pears were canned And completely flavorless. There were spoiled pieces of lettuce in my salad that I had to pick out. Not good by any stretch of the imagination. Our daughter ordered a $16 salad for 2 and she asked For a few things to be omitted and a few to be added and they gave it to her as it was Listed on the menu. She had to pick out old wilted lettuce too. And she asked for simple balsamic vinegar on the side and didn't get it. She got regular dressing already mixed into the salad. The server did ask her if she wanted a different salad but by now the order had taken a while to get there and she didn't want to wait more so she declined. My husband ordered a Caesar salad with chicken and he says he didn't like his salad either. My mom get a small pizza which she said was very good, our Grandson liked his pizza and I don't know how the pasta was that our granddaughter had. What was so disappointing is that we had a fabulous Meal here last November for a party of 11. Inconsistency is the death of a restaurant. If they can't keep fresh produce, then take The salads off the menu. We won't be going back here a any time soon which is a shame. read more

Goodfellos is the staple of Sackets Harbor. Open year-round, now serving brunch, overall super cute restaurant (love all the brick inside) and awesome pizza you really can't ever go wrong eating here. I love that they always have an app, soup, entree, and pizza special that are different each time you go. And don't leave without getting their dessert!! The creme brulee and chocolate-peanut butter pie is seriously incredible. They also have Wednesday wine nights which are the bomb -- bottles of house wine are $8, and glasses are $2. They don't take reservations on Wednesday's for that reason, and expect the wait to be longer on those nights, but just grab a bottle of wine and hang out. It's always worth it here. read more

I'm giving this restaurant five stars because I honestly can't think of a single thing to complain about. The atmosphere is pleasing, especially on a cold winter night. The large brick oven gives the whole restaurant a homey warmth. My husband and I shared a Goodfello's salad for two. It was HUGE (I recommend getting the half-size for two to share) and delicious. Wonderfully flavorful. I had The Old School pizza and my husband had The Mussolini. Both were delicious. The dough is tossed and pizzas assembled right in front of us. The crust was really excellent--comparable to the type of crust we found while in Sorrento, Italy. The waitstaff was competent, friendly, and fast. Some of their pizzas are as spicy as you can stand. They've recently created a mandatory consent form to sign before ordering/eating their spiciest pizza served. It doesn't damper the evening in any way though. It makes for, not only a delicious meal, but an interesting dinner filled with conversation.They also serve pastas, salads, and more to appease everyone, but their pizzas and wine bar are the reasons to eat there. The atmosphere is dark, warm, and romantic. The large brick oven taking up a corner of the dinning area adds to the experience. Perfect for a couples night out, but family friendly as well. This remains our go to stop in Sacketts as the children love the pizza and we've yet to encounter anything less than stellar service. Wood fired pizza with a host of delicious toppings. First and last time coming here. I'm not sure if it's a trend in this part of NY but the food was disappointing. The cheese literally falls off the pizza when you just attempt to pick it up off the plate. When we first walked in we stood around for about three minutes before anyone acknowledged us. The hostess or whoever this man was just walked out of the kitchen area and literally grabbed two menus and just said OK as he walked past us ? Then i stood there confused wondering if that was the way they greet customers here. Another server saw the confusion in my face and said "you can just follow him". Well we're not dogs. A great find for my family and I. The building itself appeared to be an old house fashioned into a restaurant, as I suppose is commonplace in the area. The lighting was dim, the pizza was phenomenal, and the local beers on tap were enjoyed. For starters, we had the Ravioli Tostado and the Crisp Good Fellos Gnoccos. The appetizers could be considered 'tapa-sized', and were very delicious. You could taste the fresh ingredients and work put in by the chef to make these small bites just right. For the main course I noticed they allowed the option to 'Create your own Pizza', so I jumped right on that. Needless to say 'Create your own Pizza' entails the customer's choice of specific ingredients to create a pizza to their liking, so I went with mozzarella, pesto, and prosciutto. Ahhhh, Goodfellos! You are the best pizza place in Sackets Harbor. Actually you are the only pizza place in Sackets, but that's ok because I have never had a bad meal at your restaurant. The appetizers are always excellent with my favorite being calamari and the bruschetta. My wife and I always get these two and they never disappoint. As far as entree, I can honestly say I have never ordered anything but pizza when I eat here and I have been coming here for 15 years. The Rustica is phenomenal, but really you can get any of the pizza pies and they are delicious. They are 8" pies I believe so one is enough for one person, but we prefer to order a couple and just put them in the middle to pick and choose from. Drinks are your normal choice of beer and full service bar which I can't complain about, but the 1812 beer is delicious. A little hoppy for some, but it's not overly hoppy. The atmosphere is nice and eating on the back patio is always relaxing and with great scenery. Of course afterwards, you can go down to the docks and see the sunset and walk along the battlefields. read more

Stopped by Good Fellos for a late-night, post-wedding reception, pizza craving. We were pleasantly surprised to learn the restaurant was open till 11pm, and serves pizza until midnight. The restaurant looked recently remodeled. It had a nice, authentic Italian atmosphere...exposed brick walls, tin tile ceiling, hardwood floors, and large brick fire oven. The atmosphere was topped off with a Frank Sinatra radio playing in the background. We ordered the standard margherita pizza...tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, basil, and tomatoes. The pizza was $11, 10 inches/6 slices, which made for a nice snack for splitting between 2 people. The pizza sauce was the highlight of the pizza. The crust could have been a tad crunchier, but was enjoyed overall. Our waitress was very friendly...answering all of our questions about Sackets Harbor (as we were just visiting). My friend and I came to Sackets Harbor for the completion of the Seaway Trail geocaching logbook. After a successful adventure the sign for pizza and wine called out to us. Being a gorgeous day we opted to sit in the patio and although the view is mostly of the side street and parking lot for the neighboring hotel it is still a great experience. We started our meals with a Sackets Harbor beer and salads; I having a caesar and my friend having an appetizer portion of the (name salad). My caesar was perfectly dressed which can easily be over done and it appears they chop the romaine fresh opposed to buying bags of prepared lettuce but I could be wrong. I tasted my friend's salad and I have to say that between the dressing, the olives, pesto and prosciutto the salad is perfectly blended in flavor and texture. hey were kind enough to make an appetizer portion of one of their main salads. Coming from Buffalo, NY we can be very snobby about pizza but I have to grilled pizza was fantastic. We ordered the Old School, the crust was perfectly crisp but not burnt and the toppings complimented each other well. If looking for an extended weekend I would recommend Sackets Harbor and plan on coming back myself! read more

We sat in the outdoor area, off in the corner where we were the only table. We thought for sure we would find ourselves neglected in our hideaway but we were mistaken. Our server was awesome and we never had to go looking for her. I HIGHLY recommend the calamari which is easily a meal for one person. The Crostacei alla Good Fellos was tasty and came with a generous portion of fresh scallops and shrimp. They also had a nice wine list with a number of selections from wineries in New York State such as Hazlit. I will likely come back the next time I am in Sackets Harbor. read more

No it's not New York style as Jim R. mentions below, but it's not meant to be; it's a more upscale Pizza and Wine Bar. Also, I believe the crux of pizza involves melted cheese. We had the corceofi pizza with artichokes and a bunch of other veggies to start accompanied by a glass of Bin 705. Then I had a spinach, strawberry, and fennel salad which had a couple little cheese medallions which had tiny chopped nuts mixed in. For my entree I had the spicy shrimp pasta special which was surprisingly very spicy; they did not pull any punches. I finished it off with a Saranac Pomegranate Wheat beer. A bit pricey for the area: $20 to 25 for an entree, about $20 for pasta and $12 to $14 for a pizza but this is Sackets Harbor after all. The staff and room are really welcoming, the wood oven across the bar really helps to set the nice atmosphere. They have a decent choice of wines by the glass and draft beers so that's a plus. The food is not out of this world but the ingredients appear to be fresh and the flavor combinations are a bit interesting and well executed. A good place to spend a nice relaxing evening. read more
