Ok, I wanted to love this place but it boiled down to zero ambiance. It was 6 on a Saturday night (I know, early for dinner in the city) but even when we left at 8 we were the only table. Our waitress was very attentive. The food, meh. I got the short rib which had a good flavor but kind of heavy on the smoke. Reminded me of BBQ and not enough polenta on the side. Came with a friend for a Friday night dinner and the restaurant is located within the Marriott hotel. There's free valet parking for two hours which was a plus for us! Upon entering, we did have trouble finding the restaurant but managed to locate it. For about a hour, we were the only patrons until a few others rolled in. The service from our waiter was great but the food was a bit of a letdown. For the table we ordered truffle and parmesan fries and the bison meatballs. We did enjoy both but you couldn't really taste the truffle on the fries. For my entree, I ordered salmon and while the salmon was cooked to my liking (medium) the side with it was less desirable - a grilled eggplant ratatouille. They do start you with bread and butter while you wait for your other ordered items. We ended the night with the earl grey creme brûlée and I really didn't like it. If you're a fan of earl gray tea you'll love this! Overall, the pros were the service and free valet but the food did fall a bit short. read more

However, food is very mediocre I tried an item from each menu section for appetizers we started off with truffle fries, shareable: bison meatballs and that was my first disappointment. Went here last summer and overall, I had a pretty good experience! The entrées had a lot of flavor and great texture. The veggies with the steak had a nice crunch and were seasoned perfectly. The fries were THE best - perfectly crisp and full of flavor. The appetizer was amazing! The beef short rib over cheesy polenta and scallions was one of the specials that night and it had such a strong flavor to it, but in a good way where it still wasn't overpowering. The drink was super refreshing and had a citrus taste to it. The Japanese milk break was so tasty - it's brushed on top with garlic rosemary butter and complimented by salted butter. The bread is fluffy and the added butter makes it nice and moist and the salt over it gives it a great flavor. The dessert was aesthetically pleasing and I love that it didn't taste too sweet. My expectations at first, to be honest, were not particularly high. We were just grabbing an early dinner at the hotel before the show. The bar is a shared lobby/restaurant bar. It has a great cocktail program, and an excellent selection of local draft beers. The restaurant space is very attractive, airy and spacious. Lots of light, and open to the kitchen. We were the first, and only diners, through a fairly quick 5pm seating on a Friday. After such a pleasant experience, it made us a bit sad that they weren't getting more business. Service was prompt, friendly and helpful. We shared the shishito peppers as a starter. The peppers were fresh and perfectly cooked. The plate at first appeared a little busy, with a caramel miso underneath and a nori and bonito topping. But it was well composed, and the additional ingredients added flavors I've not usually seen in shishito plates. The "wedge" was a split heart of romaine with abundant chunks of bacon. A nice and reasonably sized salad course. To keep the meal light, I did the wedge as half my main, and the bison meatballs as the second portion. The three meatballs were small and dense, but nicely flavored, and the mash and gravy made the plate a good lighter meal. The star of the plate was the grilled sourdough; so delicious I asked for a second piece. The wife's main was the mixed greens salad with shrimp. She enjoyed it, though commented it was a huge amount of greens. Overall very pleasant. We'll be staying at the Marriott Uptown again when we're in the area, and would now consider Good Graces to be our must stop for first night dining. 5 stars; they deserve a lot more business than is coming through the doors today. read more

Cooked perfectly and pretty tasty. The truffle fries are really good. Prices are quite a bit higher, but I think that's the norm for this area. Mimosas were very small and the pours were uneven. I've looked at this place many times and have wanted to check it out. Based on reviews, it seems like more of a dinner spot. However, I likely won't be returning here, unless just for drinks. Drinks were really good: the Cooler than a Cucumber, Dad Gum It, and Turtle Creek Sour were all well done and beautifully presented. We ordered the burrata salad. As a massive fan of burrata, I've eaten way too many. This one was somehow at the bottom of my list, less runny and delicate. Still hard to hate cheese so I'd never say no to eating it (but just comparing). Two of us got the pan roasted chicken, my fiancé got the salmon dish, and my mother to be the bolognese. She loved her bolognese. My fiancé felt the salmon was just ok. My father to be and I received two chicken strip size pieces of chicken on a plate with a couple cherry tomatoes and a flavor puree. Not only was the chicken dry, but it is insane to me how many restaurants are charging $$$ prices for tiny portions. I totally understand the places that have chef-curated dishes and the 2 bites you get are delectable. However, this was not that. When the bolognese was a full meal portion, it's confusing what type of restaurant you're dining at when mine was 10% of the portion size. With a $200+ bill, I left hungry. I guess I could have filled up on their really yummy Japanese milk bread we ordered, but the server did not tell us the bread was complimentary. Got a table by window which had AC blasting right on top but fine with a layer on. Food- omelette with 4 ingredients to choose from. I will say the portions are on the smaller side but it was perfect for us to not leave any uneaten food behind. The restaurant is inside the Marriott Uptown so it is a few steps from registration in the lobby to the restaurant. We went here for dinner on a Saturday night. We arrived about 6 and it was not busy at all. The ambience is upscale modern but dress is casual. The service was professional and helpful. No complaints. We started with oysters and they were very tasty. Half a dozen were $24. Having just been in Seattle the previous week where oysters are as fresh as can be, we were a bit skeptical about oysters flown in from Canada. But they were really good. Not particularly large, but tasty. For entrees, the wife had the hanger steak which was a special that night and loved it. Very tender and flavorful. We got a Caesar salad and fries for the little one. The fries were overpriced at $8 for a small dish but they were well seasoned and very crispy. I passed on entrees and ordered from the starter menu: flatbread pizza which that night featured sausage; shrimp cocktail; and caprese salad. I liked everything but would note that the cheese in the caprese salad was more the consistency of ricotta rather than mozzarella. And the tomatoes were advertised as heirloom but I think that they were just regular tomatoes. The shrimp cocktail was good but instead of 4-5 big shrimp they give 8 or so small shrimp, looked like 20-25 size. The shrimp did not have any fishy smell or flavor so I enjoyed them. Those are mostly quibbles, however. In general, we enjoyed our meal. It was not particularly inexpensive, but it was an anniversary dinner so cost does not matter. read more

As I had hoped for, flavorful and crispy skinned was their "Peruvian Roasted Chicken" and exquisite in taste was their gold flaked "Citrus Au Lemon" dessert. A word of caution to the slow service. From needing to ask to be seated to the arrival of each course. Went here for a birthday with group of 9. This restaurant is part of a hotel so we got parking with their valet. Service was pretty good. I think our server was a little new but he was still attentive. Our table ordered quite a bit, starting with the oysters, mussels and bone marrow. Bone marrow was a hit with us because of the flavor but it is quite expensive. We also enjoyed their pesto butter and bread. The main courses are limited. I opted for the Peruvian chicken which was good with the sauce they had. Without, it was definitely dry. My friends enjoyed their burgers a lot. The patties were juicy and flavorful. Dessert was the star for sure though! The lemon tart was a perfect balance of tart and sweet. I would literally come back for just that dessert. Overall everything was good but pretty basic. "Marble potatoes" they call them, so called apparently because they are literally just marble sized small boiled potatoes. I received six of them. That's it. The tomato is whole and squished therefor not edible, the onions are white and diced and the capers are the size of olives. Using a butter knife proves to be difficult in slicing to layer on your palm sized bagel. Parfait is pretty, but smaller in size and needed more honey in my humble opinion. London fog was as good as ever but for the price I should have just gotten one from the Starbucks to take it with me. All in all JUST ok, I'm sure Dallas food has more to offer. read more

This review is long over due - we came back in February for Valentines Day. They had complimentary champagne since it was "special occasion". Our server was very friendly and helpful. The food did take a long time to come out but we were notified, after we sat down, of the delays because of it being so busy. We ordered various appetizers and had a wonderful time just taking to the lateness didn't bother us. I definitely recommend the Double Doc Dare (drink), caprese salad (the creamiest burrata ever!), burssel sprouts, and clams. The tuna tartar and oyesters we're ok, nothing special. Good Graces is an excellent addition to Uptown and I'm so glad that we chose to celebrate an early Valentine's Day / date night here on its opening weekend. Our server (Justin) went above and beyond the entire night. His attention to detail is second to none and he knew the story behind nearly every drink and dish. First off, you MUST order one of their cocktails made in the Tanqueray champion shaker. This is 1 of only 3 shakers of its kind in the US... needless to say it's a whole experience that they wheel around on a cart to provide you with a table side cocktail. You have two choices, a sour or a fizz. From there you choose your liquor, either Tanqueray gin or Ketel One botanical vodka. I chose the Fizz with the cucumber & mint Ketel which also had egg white and coconut. It's one of the best cocktails I have ever had!! In addition to that, we also ordered the espresso martini, the Pegasus, and the Dad Gum It. We shared the Tuna Nikkei as our starter which was their take on ahi poke. The fish was super fresh and topped with a light sauce. It does have a noticeable amount of cilantro, which I'm usually hit or miss with, but it complemented the dish really well. For entrees, I ordered the market seafood plate which included a lobster tail, squid, octopus, scallops, and seasoned butter. The dish was very decadent and included some of the best scallops I've had in Dallas. My boyfriend ordered the Texas Wagyu steak which came out perfectly cooked with a side of asparagus and fries. What we ordered: - half-dozen oyster of the day (with mignonette, horseradish, siracha): very delicious; I really liked their mignonette, a good mix of sweet and vinegar-y. - classic ceviche (red snapper/ chulpe corn/ aji amarillo sauce): This was our favorite of our lunch! Chunks of fresh fish mixed with just the right amount of sauce and corn. I got the smoked salmon eggs benedict with spinach and shallot hollandaise. One of the eggs was perfectly poached with the DRIP (iykyk). The dish comes with fingerling potato and braised tomato. We got complimentary bread and I thought it was really unique they brought smoked spreads to go with it (pesto flavor and I forgot the other one). For the entrees we got the wagyu steak which was good but not out of this world and the rigatoni pasta which was really good! First off, the decor is lovely with moden elements, yet it feels cozy with soft, overstuffed down pillows. The tables are arranged in a way that feels intimate and, best of all, the restaurant was quiet. Perfect for a date or just a relaxed dinner with good conversation. The drinks were excellent! The Dad Gum It was tart and sweet. The perfect summer beverage. They are also generous with wine pours. We started with the shaved fennel salad, which was fresh and bright with a punch of citrus. I enjoyed the salmon entree paired with the most delicious, melt-in-your mouth herb gnocchi. I could have devoured an entire bowl of the gnocchi!
