Came here for dinner on a Wednesday night and it was surprisingly busy. I had to wait about 20 mins. I forgot the servers name but he was awesome. He checked on us often but not too overwhelming. What we ordered: Espresso martini 10/10 Crispy shrimp appetizer 9/10 Lobster roll (cold) 9/10 (I wish they had the hot kind with butter) Burger (I didn't have any but my friend loved it)

Zero complaints ever! This place never fails me! Probably the best Happy Hour Martinis in the city! The service is amazing. If you're coming for happy hour, come early because those bar seats fill up fast! Will definitely return!

This restaurant took over the old Mi Cocina space in West Village and has a relaxed dockside/boathouse vibe inside. The host staff was friendly and organized despite a busy afternoon, and our server Natalia was attentive and accommodating throughout the meal. We started with the shrimp cocktail, which was fresh, meaty, and served with two tasty sauces. I ordered the lobster roll but was surprised to find it was more of a lobster salad roll than a traditional warm lobster roll. Thankfully, Natalia checked with the kitchen and was able to have a plain lobster roll with clarified butter made for me, which I really appreciated. The menu has a sushi section which felt a little out of place with the otherwise American seafood menu. Overall, a solid spot for lunch while shopping in West Village.

Hudson House absolutely delivered on date night -- this place has a great thing going. We walked in on a weeknight and were seated right away in the main dining room, which was a nice start. The vibe in there is really cool with wood-paneled walls, nautical accents, and soft lighting that give it that East Coast-inspired feel without being stuffy about it. It's the kind of place that feels equally at home for a casual dinner or a proper date night. Service was genuinely excellent too. A manager checked in on us multiple times throughout the meal, and when another server noticed we had finished one of our plates, they came right over without us having to flag anyone down. That kind of attentiveness is hard to find. On to the food. We started with the crispy rice tuna, which was awesome. I could have eaten twice as much of it, but for what you get the price is fair. We followed that up with the double cheeseburger, and let me tell you, the online hype is earned. Perfectly cooked, and the pickles and Hudson sauce really tied the whole thing together. For a side I went with the lobster mac and cheese, because honestly how do you say no to that? Absolutely delish. My wife got the chicken parm, which was massive and just as good the next day as it was fresh, always a good sign. Happy hour pricing doesn't carry over into the main dining room, just worth knowing ahead of time, but it wasn't a dealbreaker for us going in. Overall this was a really great night out. Already looking forward to trying more from the Vandelay restaurants. They clearly know what they're doing.

Service was decent, the staff was nice. I will say that the food seems to be a reasonably priced for what it is as well. The french chicken was well seasoned and tender and came with fries and salad. The hudson salad was a hefty portion and tasted great- I wish it just came either predressed or with a larger serving of dressing. I will say that the restaurant is very loud however, it was difficult to hear and talk to my server at times just because of the volume of the music and background chatter, so would definitely recommend going for the patio or bar if you're looking for something more intimate! Would definitely go back for the happy hour bellini's and cheeseburger!

Decided to check out the hype around Hudson house! Met a girlfriend around 6pm and the place was packed always a good sign. A lovely couple offered us their table so we didn't have to wait, but just know, this place is busy during happy hour! Our server was super sweet and very nice! I asked for a recommendation for a martini (I'm not a martini girl) and she was honest and told me to stick to what I know! I ended up getting three French 75's and they were delicious. Frosty glass and all. The food came out quickly and everything was really good. I didn't love the lobster mac, a little too runny for me but the Beverly salad and oysters were delicious! And I love any kind of fry but the shoestring truffle fries were such a good munch! I will definitely be back.

French Chicken - delicious, but questioned the portion size of the fries and salad. Mgr fixed it.

Went for lunch on a Friday and it was packed. Not surprising as HH has great dishes. This was my first visit to the Uptown location but it won't be my last. My fave meal is the French Chicken which is what I ordered this time also. I did question the portion size of the sides that came with the dish as it was much smaller than I'd had at other locations I've visited. The manager immediately noticed and fixed that small issue. I'll be back sooner than later.

Hudson House provided a superb birthday dining experience for me and my friend! We walked over as West Village parking can be a nightmare on busy weekend evenings, but there are lots (including a multi tier parking deck) nearby. We arrived 15 mins early and were greeted warmly by the hostesses. The ambiance is very coastal, almost as if you're eating at a high end restaurant right on the beach. We tried to grab a quick drink at the bar but it was packed! Thankfully, we didn't have to wait long and weee seated at our table. I ordered the strawberry spritz to start, which was just okay. I usually love a sweet drink, but I was a huge fan of this rendition of a spritz. We split the spicy tuna crispy rice to start, and it was amazing. I'm a huge crispy rice fan, but usually they're so small and not worth it. I thought that these bites, albeit still small, were tasty enough to support the pricing. For my meal I ordered the lobster roll. I grew up a frequent eater of lobster rolls at the shore, so I take them very seriously. There's also two different types of lobster rolls, of which I prefer the Connecticut style. When I asked the waitress which version it was, she just responded "the usual kind! It's delicious and our top seller!" Now the lobster roll was delicious, but was unfortunately served cold (Maine style). The lobster part of the meal was delicious and fresh and PLENTIFUL!! However, while bread was a bit crumbly. I also prefer my loaf with a little butter to make it nice and soft. Your meal also comes with a HUGE serving of French fries, which were nice and crispy with a tinge of sweetness, yet a bit undersalted. My friend got the burger and said it was totally worth the hype. Would come back to order it again. And this guy is a meat eater. However, the burger doesn't come with fries which is basically an American crime!! He ordered a side of the truffle parm fries, and they were also bountiful, crispy and delicious. But seriously. Serve a burger with fries automatically on the side. It was my friends birthday, and Hudson House staff were super receptive about serving it and celebrating my friend. There is no cake fee, which is also so nice!! To accommodate our delicious mango yuzo chantilly cake, I finished with a stone fruit martini. This was delicious!! I would go back just to order this. Overall, I very much enjoyed Hudson House and would definitely be back!!

    Very Cold and tasty Martini!

Knock -knock ! I went back to the Hudson House to share my earlier experience with the manager ( very nice guy) I voice my concerns and kept it short because the entire restaurant was packed. I decided to take a seat ( the only one available) at a very very busy and crowded bar / it's definitely Happy Hour ! The atmosphere was definitely at a 10 / as I watched the two bartenders make drinks nonstop / one for the servers and the other for the bar patrons ! I didn't mind waiting bc the bartender was extremely busy !! I was already impressed at how she was maintaining service for every guest at the bar ! Ashley is a superstar ! Did you hear me ? Ashley is superstar / she ROCKED ! I had already texted my friend to say that we are definitely coming back for happy hour at the bar with her ! What martini did I get ? Bartenders choice on my martini. It was a 10 / the Lemon drop ( I think )it was very tasty and extremely cold ! We chatted for awhile bc she had recognized me from being in earlier for lunch . I was almost ready to order food but had another appointment.. so I got the sushi w mango to -go ! Now this was the dining experience I was looking for even if I didn't eat at the bar ! I will definitely give Hudson House another chance at the bar and in the dining room. And I'll definitely order the key-lime pie / it's my favorite dessert! Ashley I should have posted this sooner..

Side of Mac and cheese (share with a friend, it is extremely rich)

I love a really good American bistro and Hudson House in Uptown is among the top in the area! We did table reservations and were seated immediately upon arrival. The service was perfection and the food was fast, fresh, and well seasoned! Our table had the Greek salad, lobster roll, fish tacos, and The Hudson Salad. We also ordered oysters on the half shell and a side of Mac and cheese. Each dish stood out in their own right! This casual yet upscale feeling restaurant was perfect for a lunch in a beautiful Saturday!

Reservations strongly recommended for Friday and Saturday nights at this location. We've walked into others before with success, but they didn't have any tables so we grabbed a bar spot. Bartender was very friendly and they offer full service so we were still able to order. The Hudson salad and lobster roll are solid classics, fresh and good flavors. The salad is a nice large portion which I appreciated! Restaurant is very cute with an upscale vibe.

Came in for happy hour, food and drinks were great but Tara was exceptional! Had a great time and the burger was chefs kiss!

    Tuna roll absolutley delicious
    Meggie W.

Very good service. Jordan and Madison were awesome! They both went above and beyond to enhance our dining experience at the bar. We went a few times already and the service is always outstanding. Truly! The tuna roll was the best item on the menu and the fish tacos are absolutely incredible, the burger is excellent but I'm not a fan of the pickle spear that comes with the burger. They have a happy hour on weekdays and the burger is discounted but it doesn't come with fries. Fries can be added as a separate dish. The regular seasoned fries and the truffle fries are both equally delicious. I would say the Maine lobster roll is better than the Connecticut style as it has more to it. The lobster mac and cheese was one of the better lobster mac's so I do recommend it. You can't go wrong, everything on the menu is good. We will keep coming back!

After requesting a water to go, we were unexpectedly accused by the bartender, Jake, of placing an alcoholic beverage into a to-go cup. The accusation was embarrassing, unnecessary, and made even more uncomfortable by the fact that it was made publicly and without cause. To be fair, the manager on staff handled our complaint regarding Jake professionally and with care, which we truly appreciated. However, the situation itself left a lasting negative impression. As professionals in the criminal law and medical fields, we value professionalism, discretion, and respectful communication. Being wrongly accused in that manner was disappointing and frankly humiliating. Because of this experience, we will not be returning anytime soon, despite what had otherwise been an enjoyable evening.

No…read morereservation...just a walk party of 6 and they had a table for us...as long as we could be out by a certain time...about an hour and a half after we walked in. We were there to eat so if they were going to wine and dine us in that amount of time, we were there for it!! Everything was delicious, everyone enjoyed their meals and drinks and we are so glad we found this location and made it happen! I was looking forward to dinner here the entire day and it was worth it!! We had the queso blanco...it's got a kick...worth it! My wagyu fajitas were perfectly cooked medium rare and soooo flavorful!! I was my dessert in my pjs back at the hotel...the sopapilla cheesecake and ice cream held up perfectly and was everything I wanted it to be!! It's a dark atmosphere in the bar area, but the vibes were so cool. It wasn't too loud to where people were having to scream to converse...but it was not intimate where you could talk across the table softly with the other person hearing. We are still talking about Las Palmas days later and can't wait until we are back in Dallas to bring more of our group here to enjoy delicious food and great service!!

A few important notes though: this place is SUPER loud, especially upstairs, so if you are trying to take your older parents somewhere for a nice dinner where you can actually catch up and have a conversation, this might not be the spot. Also, avoid the upstairs dining room if anyone has mobility issues. The stairs are a little sketchy in that dark space because you basically have to TRUST there is another stair step in front of you even though you can't see it. And a heads up, do not wander into the wrong bathroom upstairs like my husband did because the "men's" and "ladies" signs upstairs are also nearly impossible to read in the dark! But honestly, those are really my only complaints... The service and food were both very good. We had a couple of ordering fumbles. We got the regular queso, and then immediately watched another table get the tableside flaming queso and we were seriously bummed. Like, really bummed. That is definitely what I will be ordering next time. The chips and smoky salsa were excellent!! - and I always appreciate when everyone gets their own little portion of salsa so everyone can double dip without feeling like a heathen. I ordered the wagyu fajitas (the half portion), and it was still easily enough food for two people. I will say the meat was more like a filet mignon texture and less like the flavorful fajita meat I was expecting. My friend's pork fajitas were actually much better and had more flavor. When the manager stopped by to check on us, I had to announce my own birthday because apparently my friends were not going to help me out with that (some friends, huh?). They brought out a complimentary sopapilla cheesecake with a candle, which was a very nice touch. All in all, I loved the place and totally understand the hype. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time. There is valet parking, but we found easy parking across the street. I cannot wait to come back and try that flaming queso!
