We tried out this location on a Friday for lunch when we were running errands in the Knox-Henderson area. The decor is classic and doesn't have much fanfare which I think fits the French vibe. We sat outside on the patio and even though it was scorching outside, because of the tent-style covering and air conditioning the place was kept cool. The patio is dog friendly as well. When we got there the host was with us immediately and found us a table. I'm thinking they might've also been a manager because they were walking throughout the restaurant checking on everyone even though they weren't too busy. Really liked how diligent they were. Unfortunately, the same can't be said about our server. He was very nice and gave good recommendations when asked, but we barely saw the guy throughout our meal. The host/manager that was there came more than once to check on us and bring us anything we needed, but if he wasn't there I think we wouldn't have had anyone else come up to us besides taking the orders, dropping them off, and bringing us the check (which we had to hunt them down for). The food itself was really good thankfully. The duck was delicious and my partner loved his croque madame! I had a bite of his and immediately got jealous because I had been craving brunch and his dish fit that theme perfectly, unlike mine. I left nothing on my plate whereas he couldn't finish his because it was too much heavy food for him. We also got the truffle deviled eggs as a starter and they had great flavor, though the filling was a little dry for my taste. Nothing wrong with it since it was just a matter of personal preference. Always wanted to stop in during a walk on the Katy, and I'm so glad we did! Wait staff was attentively committed to topping off our beverages on such a hot day and never failed to check-in with us periodically throughout our visit. We enjoyed the savory sweetness of the mushroom garlic pear pairings with the nutty Brie goodness. Minor critique would be lack of salt to bring out the richness in our entrees. Nothing a gold ole' salt and pepper shaker at the table couldn't fix. I'd be interested to see other non-alcoholic beverage options other than water/tea. Toulouse is such a gem with major Parisienne vibes right in the heart of Knox-Henderson. Definitely recommend for brunch (and maybe walk ot off on Katy Trail afterwards). On a recent visit, I had the crab Benedict, zucchini chips, and chocolate mousse. Everything was good but the mousse was AMAZING. Definitely recommend getting this! My Benedict was ok, but had quite a few bits of shell and was a little lukewarm. I would have sent it back but I was so hungry! The zucchini chips could have used a little hit of salt and they would have been perfect. Seating is a little cramped during peak hours but you can get in some great people watching from the patio. Service was standard and our waiter was friendly. I feel like it's just one of those Dallas brunch standards that you must hit up at some point. Toulouse Cafe in Dallas has been a staple in the Knox Henderson neighborhood for over 20 years. They're as consistent of a French bistro as you'll find anywhere. The service is amazing and the quality of the food and cocktails are always solid. We're lucky to have them. We visited a few weeks ago for a holiday lunch. The weather was insanely warm so this French 77 in the first photo is taken on the patio in 76 degree temps on December 26. It was fantastic alongside our afternoon snacks. The French 77 is a delicious champagne cocktail using gin, St. Germain (elderflower liqueur), fresh raspberry, and fresh lemon. It's a perfect way to kickoff an afternoon or evening coupled with wonderful classic French fare. I didn't take additional photos of the bar this trip but will make the effort next time. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, and we were greeted warmly and seated right away. Service was prompt and efficient throughout our visit. A very nice French restaurant. We ordered the muscles, devilled eggs, trout dip and crème brûlée! The muscles are really good and I do recommend it for seafood lovers. Pair it with some wine and you're good to go! The devilled eggs was just okay. Not something I'd order again. The trout dip is good to share but underwhelming. The crème brûlée is amazing! Five stars for the steak frites alone. There's just something very satisfying about how well cooked my steak was and the right crisp saltiness of the fries. Everything else was a blur that day. Taverna, being next door, is the perfect Saturday evening complement to this Sunday morning brunch fixture. The portions are heavy, and the coffee cups are ample. You can chase the hair of the dog if you're so inclined, or get sober in a pinch, depending on the adventure you choose. The patio is perfect for people-watching during peak times. Valet parking across the street is almost a requirement, as the lots fill up quickly. If you're nearby, it may be easier to use Uber. My friend and I topped in for a late lunch. The service was excellent from the host moving us from a 2-top to a 4-top so my client with a cane would be more comfortable. The Chanel No. 6 is like a hyped up mimosa cocktail, champagne with vodka, chambord, and juice added in. I reco the eggs benedict with short rib, loved it. Quiche comes highly recommended by the staff also, but I found it quite heavy & large. Great if you're super hungry! I ordered the asparagus as a side, it came as four stalks... but was dressed very well, and also filling. The ambiance is classy (French), but came in jeans and did not feel underdressed. I stopped by Toulouse as a suggestion from Sarah, from Aesop which is down the street from Toulouse. I didn't go too far inside the restaurant because I was extremely hungry and just wanted to sit and eat. So, I sat at a table on their covered patio just inside the door. I already knew what I wanted so my server, Joe, took my order pretty quickly. I ordered a steak with fries and asparagus. The steak was SO tender that I didn't even touch my steak knife (also because I didn't see it :) ). The asparagus was MOST flavorful and the fries were enjoyable as well.
