Not only was Chris Dollar extremely professional, he was very honest and upfront about the costs and necessary repairs needed for my garage door that I thought needed a new opener. I decided to go with Good Guys Garage because of their stellar reviews on Yelp/Google. I met with Chris for the initial estimate. He was an honest, down-to-earth guy that took the time to help me choose the right door. Their price is pretty competitive, especially for a high quality brand like Amarr. During installation, the installers were good but not great. While they did a decent install, it didn't feel like a quality job. I think there is room for improvement here. About a month later, I called Good Guys for a maintenance follow-up. This time, Chris came out to service my garage door. He did a SUPERB job and even went above and beyond to make sure I was truly happy with my door. He was detailed with his work and made several adjustments to the initial installation which overall made the door operate a lot better! I'm not a hater. I wanted to like these guys and I had no preconceived notions going in. But I had my garage door serviced twice within a few weeks, once by Good Guys Garage Doors and once by another company. The difference could not have been more striking. I called GGGD regarding my malfunctioning garage door and they promptly came out. During the online survey, I selected the $69 lubrication and inspection plan. The technician glanced at my garage door, informed me that nearly every component was old and worn out, and offered me a menu of preset service plans. None of these plans specifically addressed the problem with my door. When I asked about the $69 lubrication and inspection plan, the technician told me that only included lubricating the door, not the opener. That felt like a 'gotcha' moment. After a bit of back-and-forth, I selected the cheapest plan on the menu. This included the $69 door lubrication and replacing the door roller wheels. When the work was completed, my garage door didn't work any better. Furthermore, I had paid for the door lubrication but most of the components involved had been replaced so there was nothing to lubricate. The final invoice included an 'environmental fee' for disposal of old parts. I'm pretty sure the 12 roller wheels that were replaced were thrown into my trash can. The final bill for my $69 lubrication and inspection was $488.13 and my garage door didn't work any better. Two weeks later the door failed completely. I called another company. They diagnosed several problems, fixed all of them, and for $228 my garage door works as good as new. read more
