I was very happy to get a plastic free, animal free meal from a business that cares about the environment in Red Bank. They have so many reasonably priced options and give you a generous portion. The food was delicious. If I find myself in the area again, I will surely go back.

Hubby and I truly enjoy this little cafe and they offer an amazing variety that also includes GF food, as well. This time, we had ordered their BBQ Tempeh Wrap and a special, Buffalo Tempeh with Mac & Cheese. Both were delicious and plenty enough to share. We had forgotten how generous their portions are. Their tempeh is unlike most places we have frequented. Their tempeh is soft, nutty, and not compressed giving us the perfect consistency, each time we take a bite. They used an entire tempeh block in both of the entrees. Again, the portions are large and shareable. Both were excellent and we were able to take home our left-overs. The food here is outstanding, regardless if you are vegan or not. I was quite excited to see they are open for lunch, as last year, this location was only open for dinner. They do have another location for take out only. Prior to the pandemic, we were told by our waitress they were going to acquire the lot next to them for parking and get rid of the counter to cut down on take out wait lines. Sadly, that was said prior to the pandemic and while they did update their space, it was a nice paint job for brighter walls. Gone is the mural of Gia (Mother Earth Goddess) but replaced with more photos and artwork for sale. There is less seating and it's still tight. They did not, sadly, acquire the lot for parking next door, so street metered parking is still hard a challenge, especially when the main strip in Red Bank is closed off for outdoor dining. The food however, is still as delicious as ever and the staff is as gracious and accommodating, too. They offer reusable utensils and plastic free containers for take out. food: 4.5/5 Service: 4/5 Cleanliness: 3/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Value: 5/5 Location: 3.5/5

Buffalo Soldier, Chimichurri Style Seitan Sticks, Pineapple Mango Tempeh, side of fries.

Tiramisu: delicious. Everything else... just ok. Also, the "side of fries" is a travesty. I had the Pineapple Mango Tempeh, my partner had the Buffalo Soldier wrap with a "side of fries," and we shared the chimichurri sticks. I'm attaching a photo of this side of fries that cost $4. That would be a stretch for fries included as part of a sandwich plate, and is straight up insulting as a "side" you have to pay for as an add-on. Usually, when my partner orders fries we share them, but I felt too bad for his tiny sad side of fries to take any. They looked pale and doughy anyway. Anyway, the chimichurri sticks were ok but didn't have a lot of flavor. They weren't bad but also weren't quite enjoyable. The buffalo wrap was fine. (I asked my partner what he thought about it, and he said "it's a wrap." So, y'know, that was a ringing endorsement.) The pineapple mango tempeh bowl was... weird. I always like tempeh, but something about either the pineapple or the mango tasted like maybe it'd gone off a bit? I was hungry, so I did finish it, but I wouldn't want to eat it again. It's not that anything was particularly bad (unsure about that mango thing but maybe it was just a seasoning I didn't like), but it was all very very mid. Except the tiramisu. We didn't have any other dessert, so maybe all the desserts are outstanding. The tiramisu was levels above everything else we had. I saw that some other people said it was more of a pudding than a tiramisu--I'd say it was half & half. It was pudding like but it also had the espresso soaked cookie base and other tiramisu flavors. Whatever it was, it was delicious. I wouldn't recommend the food here, but I absolutely recommended the tiramisu.

Always a great meal at Good Karma Cafe!! Rated as one of the top Vegan Eateries in CNJ, rightfully so!! I ordered the BBQ Tempeh Wrap and it was delicious !! The tempeh was tender with just the right amount of fry, topped with sweet and tangy BBQ sauce, coddled within a whole wheat wrap, accompanied with crisp lettuce, cabbage and carrots, their homemade BBQ sauce and smokey chipotle aioli made a delicious flavorful and savory satisfying meal. Wifey ordered the special which was a Buffalo Tempeh Mac and Cheese. I sampled and it too was delicious. Wifey enjoyed it! A to-go box was recruited because of its enormity. Highly recommended, Good Karma is on of my favorite Vegan eateries!

Good Karma Cafe is AMAZING! I went recently to celebrate my birthday and it was the perfect meal. I ordered a special the Cuban sandwich with plantains and it was insanely good. The service was excellent and the spot is very cute. It is a small space, but we were able to get a table for two without any issue. The restaurant is decorated with art that you can purchase. Would absolutely go again!

Some good some bad. Right off the bat, I thought the waiter wasnt the friendliest. Area was quite compact and everyone was touching shoulders inside which i didnt really like. LOVED the art on the wall really encapsulated the area well. Food: Loaded nachos- great but i wish they were warm like normal nachos. Got soggy really fast and everything was hidden under like the lettuce and beans- didnt love the way it was served but overall really tasty Mac and cheese- awful did not taste like mac and cheese at all. Ive had good vegan mac and cheese before and this one was just not done well Spinach and artichoke dip- really tasty but it says its served with garlic toast, thats a lie, Ours was just plain bread no garlic flavor and not toasted. I might return to try their other stuff but wasnt overly impressed as a vegan

    Raw Live Nachos Indian Plate

Tried the live nachos and the Indian plate today, each dish was very good. The staff here is always very friendly, welcoming, and professional. I've been here numerous times and never have a bad experience. I've tried 2 of the desserts and I would say that my favorite is easily the brownie, sadly didn't enjoy the raw key lime pie but that hasn't hindered my experiences from here at all. Certainly plan to be back here. The food here is very healthy, organic, and tastes good! Highly suggest trying their juices

During my visit, I experience good customer service; an employee helps me navigate the Vegan options, and employees are kind, otherwise. The Pineapple Mango Tempeh option is very filling: this meal option comes with a lot of food! The coconut sauce and mango chutney offer the distinct flavors which may likely be reasons for the meal's name. The ingredients taste fresh though I find each bite most satisfying mixing together versus alone. I order black beans on the side to supplement the meal with more protein: I think the black beans might taste better in combination with another meal portion or so than alone; I recall the flavor of the black beans alone, like unsweet corn with no seasoning directly from a husk. I actually taste a bite of a Spicy Peanut Satay, meeting a friendly person, and I really like the spicy peanut sauce on the Seitan though the flavor of the Seitan bite alone makes me feel as though I'm eating an actual steak (Vegan style). The establishment takes different forms of payment. I like the artistry on the walls of the establishment. The establishment feels like a cozy space to hangout and with so much seemingly going on within the establishment that can keep people wanting to stick around, I feel like the establishment may need an extra room or so for more guests to just hangout.

First trip to Red Bank and this was the first place I found on Yelp for the area. Now I've been questioning my plant based journey and figured this would be the best place to test if vegan was a life for me. When I say this Bahn Mi sandwich is AMAZING !!!!! This meal 1000% confirmed to me that a vegan lifestyle was more than attainable. I will be making the 2 hour drive again to try the rest of the menu !!

"Live" lemonade, buffalo wings, tempeh reubens ...so much goodness I don't know where to start! If you are vegan or just looking to start eating vegan this is THE place. Think of it as healthy comfort foods. The choices are amazing, the staff friendly and the food is excellent at each visit. My favorite is the Reuben. You would swear you were eating the real thing. To wash it down try the love lemonade. I can't even describe the unique flavor. My only issue was they list specials on instagram and you drive there and they tell you they are o oh served at dinner. This should be specified when they post.

One item was a cheesesteak. Seems simple, right? Well, ordering a meat item with a vegan cheese was waaaay too much for her. Literally couldn't wrap her head around it, we had to explain it like she was from another country. After a few minutes, we threw the complication of putting mushrooms on it. No mushrooms came on the cheesesteak, but tons of unordered peppers and onions. The person who got it in our party took ten minutes to make sure the onions and peppers were off, but even then, the flavor was so peppery and onion-y that you couldn't taste the already small amount of steak. But the kicker was the pizza order. Getting a large pie, we began telling the topping we wanted...only to get like four ingredients into the list to suddenly, rudely, be told they don't do that many toppings, it will ruin the pizza. (Scooby Doo head shaking WHAAA?!) Holy sacrificing your profit margin , Batman! Aren't they in business to sell what the customer wants? Couldn't find a way to maybe put the extra stuff we wanted on the side, then we could put it on later? It's mind boggling that the owners and managers don't put some kind of warning about that...seems like then you'd have a fallback for that occurring...but whotf does that, on any level? I guess the crust crumbles if too many toppings are chosen. The food is good, kinda unique. That said, so is having someone being rude in a service-oriented job. Read the other reviews, this feels to be a common element in people's experiences. Five stars for food, one for the multiple times (three different) I've had this happen here. Three overall seems fair, if not generous.

We ordered cauliflower wings and one empanada as apps and a kid's chkn tenders along with a bakon burger (sub chkn) for our mains. It took 28 minutes before we saw any food. The cauliflower wings were large and def made with fresh cauliflower (with that familiar raw crunch). The batter was raw inside- my guess is the oil temp was high so the outside cooked fast but left a lot of mush inside. The empanada was okay, very light on the filling. Another 19 minutes go by before the kid's chikn tenders come out. Apparently the cook is new and messed up on the bakon burger forgetting to sub the chkn so had to wait yet another 7 minutes for that. Chkn tenders were pretty much the gardein seven grain product and the kiddo seemed to be pleased. The bakon burger, when it finally arrived was a huge disappointment. The bottom bun was dry and hard. It would clank when I tapped it against the plate. There were a few drops of mayo in the middle leaving the entire sandwich dry with a cold slice of cheese- no attempts at melting. I did provide this feedback to our server, who was polite and even went to the back potentially to see if an accommodation could be made. However, none were made and we walked away knowing this was a one and done restaurant.
