Because, face it, when you need a plumber, you usually need a plumber NOW! Something is leaking, flowing all over, or literally exploding in a geyser and you HOPE against hope that it's just water. We had a water heater fail over the weekend when we had AirBnB guests and they were right out to replace it. Today, a Saturday of course, we needed new valves for the washer/dryer hook-ups because they were pouring down the wall and soaking the floor; they came out and took care of that as well as another small job and were in and out in less than an hour. Our cast iron pipes were backing up regularly for over 20 years. Goodland Plumbers (GLP) had cleared it on several occasions. In 2024, we got several estimates to replace the entire plumbing/drain line system, including from GLP. We decided to go with GLP because I felt most confident with the information and detailed estimate done by Andrew Hug (Andy). We could not believe how well the project was coordinated. Top it off with quality workmanship and materials (many or most were US made). His team worked in unison from start to finish. Even the concrete replacement work was a 10, in my opinion. The entire job took only 5 days total. Only 2 days without a toilet. Whereas the restoration work in the bathrooms took weeks to complete by outside contractors. Make sure you have repair contractors lined up in advance if you decide to replace your drain lines. read more

My pressure regulator was leaking, based on good Yelp reviews I called Good Land. They were able to send someone out almost immediately. Troy did a beautiful job putting in a new valve & hose bib, he was pleasant & efficient. My neighbor's garbage disposal was leaking so Troy was also going to put in a new one for them, but he saw it was just a loose connection. He tightened it, no leak, no need for a new disposal! April 2025. $180 labor for 5 minutes of work. $600/hour labor rate. Plumber from Goodland words upon arrival; "Oh this will take 5 minutes to unscrew your house pressure regulator and screw in a new one. I have a replacement in the truck", I thought great it'll be cheap. It was that fast. He did a good job. $180 labor! So the plumber said "they will bill you". I thought that was suspicious. It was!! I looked at video, arrival to departure time was 18 minutes. Labor rate $600/hour. Question you should ask;"Is there a fixed fee for a visit or do you charge an hourly rate?" Goodland Plumbing will charge you $180 for labor on the shortest possible visit. Regulator part costs $220 in addition to labor. read more

More heroism from Good Land. And on a Saturday too! Our pressure regulator for the whole house... 14 years old or so... failed last night. We learned later that we were apparently experiencing 160+ psi of water pressure in the house. Argh! The pressure relief valves on both tankless water heaters blew. Water everywhere! What a mess. We're lucky that toilet valves and other fixtures didn't rupture too. We spent last night mopping up. This morning... 8:00 on Saturday... I called Good Land. I expected voicemail, at best. Instead, Richard picked up on the first ring! Impressive! Two hours later Justin was here. He confirmed that our issue was indeed the pressure regulator; a very obscure Wilkins model for large diameter service lines. Justin jumped on the phone with Richard. They had one in stock! Outstanding. Richard piled into his car and personally delivered it. Wow! Justin swiftly installed, tested, and adjusted it. Voila! We're back in business and NOT staying in a hotel tonight. We got estimates to replace a garbage disposal from a couple of local plumbers. We had tried resetting an insinkerator (red button) and freeing the rotor with a wooden spoon, with no success so we bought a new unit. Goodland was the best price, and "Tall Troy" came promptly. He asked "Shall I replace or fix it?" -- fix it, of course! He used an Allen wrench to free the rotor from below, and left us the wrench. When I called back to tell them that they didn't finish the job, they were surprised and sent back Terry who finished the job TWO DAYS LATER to the tune of $302.98. We replace our sewer line to the street using Good Land Plumbing trenchless solution. The work they did was fine but we had a blockage about 6 months in. Another plumber came out to unblock the line. The first thing they did was remove the backwash pipe and noticed the flange at the bottom had fallen off. After calling Good Land they said that was impossible (red flag when someone says something is 'impossible', it is just a way to redirect blame) and the blockage was most likely caused by the 65 years of tenants putting toys down the toilet. This did not happen. Good Land said they would fix the backwash flange which fell off and reimburse the $180 for the plumber. After several calls and reassurance that they would do this, they never have. They are blatantly lying about resolving the issue. If there are any issues with the work Good Land does they will not back it up! Beware. read more

Our kitchen sink backed up during Christmas week. Not just slow but completely blocked. I consider myself pretty handy and tried every trick I know: Snake, water jet, Draino, plunger, and water bladder. I finally gave up and called Goodland. I was reluctant to call a plumber because the last plumbing company I called ripped me off. A good friend highly recommended Goodland and he was right. They went on the roof along with a full size snake and cleared it through the vent pipe without even going into the house. Unlike the previous company that charged me $300 for 10 minutes work.
