    Brisket and ribs
    Gabriel L.

Came here after my usual spot sold out as I woke up too late. Have visited when it was Fat City BBQ quite a few times. The brisket we got was very flavorless lacking smoke/salt pepper taste. If you're craving brisket I'd ask to sample before spending money on it. Ribs are good, hopefully I just got a bad batch of brisket and it'll be better in future.

Seriously amazing BBQ! If you ever ate at Fat City this is the exact same spot just a different name! We had the barbecue burger, potato, and sliders. Sliders were yummy because you could pick three different meats so we got to sample some of them. The pulled pork potato was loaded, which was amazing. The star of the show was the burger though. That thing was loaded with brisket and a huge patty. The tater tots were also nice and crispy. Planning to go eat inside soon!

Fat City is now Good Life.

Fat City is now Good Life, same great BBQ. It is now run by Don Kings family, carrying on his delicious recipes. Let's get the word out "They're Back"

    Fat in my sandwich

The picture is the fat that I pulled out of my sandwich. After removing the fat I had enough meat for a half a sandwich. I feel there was no care in putting together this sandwich. It's either the staff needs training or the owner doesn't care.

Here is the food.. try it for yourself. I will say I really wanted to like this place, its not far from me... but I probably will look for another spot. I had the tri tip which is pictured below, thats all the stuff I took out my slider. The brisket was ok. The mac n cheese, well the picture speaks for itself. The potato wedges/ fries... ok, they needed salt. I might have went on an off day, so try it... you might like it. The customer service was good, no complaints there.

Absolutely delicious!! I came here every week when it was owned and operated by Don King, who was an amazing cook and pit master. Unfortunately, he sadly passed away a few months ago. They just reopened under a new name, but ALL of the same employees and pit masters are still working there. They are such an amazing crew and as friendly as ever. The menu and recipes are the exact same and the food is as delicious as ever!! Go visit for a great meal with incredible hospitality!!!

Great food, so glad it's back. Different name, but same bbq. My son and I were quite sad when the other place closed.

Had I known what was in store I might have made the trip just for the BBQ alone. The brisket is some of the best brisket I have ever had in my entire life. The Ribs were way above average. The Banana pudding was outstanding. The Coleslaw was fresh and tasty and I don't even like Coleslaw! A couple of notes, they charge like 30 cents a slice or something for white bread slices, no big deal, and the sauces are fine, but not out of this world - but who needs sauce when the meat is just that good? My wife really enjoyed their tangy sauce, so of the 3 on offer start there. The customer service is 6 out of 5 stars (the owner and staff made us feel like long time regulars) and the prices are very reasonable for the portions and quality. Do yourself a favor and get yourself some brisket at Smoke and Meat, but make sure you leave some for me.

Both sides I got could have more seasonings because the flavor really needs improvement. The banana pudding was ok but did taste as it has been there for a few days and it had a yellow liquid on top. As for customer service it was great and wish I had a better rating for this place.

The car show happened to take place in the same parking lot as K-Town, so we just decided to have dinner here instead of sitting in the drive-thru line at In-N-Out. The inside is modernly lit with lots of wood motif and black. Oversized lightbulbs filled with faux flower petals hang from the ceiling. A random cartoon plays on the wall TV. For a weekday dinner bbq, we paid about $37 per person with no additional hot pot add-on. We got a good spread of drinks (they have boba!), but they are also an additional cost. The AYCE includes access to the buffet area, which has sushi (sashimi!), buffalo wings, seafood boil, a bunch of fried/breaded offerings, and all the sauces/accoutrements for both hotpot and kbbq. I was impressed by the short rib marinade here. The beef was meaty with a good texture. Some of the cubed meats were a little tough but could be due to the way we cooked it. The pork belly was sliced too thin for my liking (too bacony). We got the cheese sticks from the buffet and reheated them over the grill and made our own version of a Chili's Triple Dipper. Service was fine. We placed our orders with a guy and he would come around occasionally for a grill change and taking away plates. Between the two KBBQ AYCE I've been to in Stockton recently, I think K-Town wins. Overall, I came out stuffed and would definitely return.

Finally getting to write a review on one of our Korean BBQ faves…read more Hubby picked to go here for his birthday this last Tuesday. We got there at 530pm and it hadn't gotten too busy at that point. Greeted and seated immediately. We usually don't do the hot pot side (we will try it some day) but the variety of meats were exactly what we normally order. We usually only do beef, but they have seafood, chicken and pork too. The salad and hot bar had quite a few options, and again I always defer to my favorites. Kim Chi, Pickled Daikon, etc etc. you'll have to check it out. Pretty big restaurant, feels spacious, and you're not right on top of your neighbor. We love that we can stay local and not have to travel to Elk Grove/Stockton Our server was friendly and attentive. Be back again soon
