Just driving by and smelled the delicious smoking meat. I had to stop and try their bbq st louise ribs. They had chicken, but I wanted to try their ribs. I place my order for a rack of ribs for $30 to be picked up the next day which is July 4th. The ribs were amazing! They were tender but not fall off the bones. They were moist and juicy. Best ribs I have had in Stockton. Every rib was so meaty and delicious. Huge pieces of meat and not much fatty pieces, thankfully! Really good seasoning on every piece we bit in to. The potato salad was so good and great flavors, perfect combo to eat with our ribs. We also got a tri-tip sandwich but it was a bit dry, BBQ sauce was a quick and delicious fix. My husband liked it and ate it all. Neil is just like you see on social media, wild and funny. He is a blunt and outspoken man so beware if you're soft lol. This joint is one of the best BBQ spots I've tried in Stockton. Simple delicious menu. Great sides - loved the beans and potato salad. The meat was tender and juicy (had half rack of ribs and the $20.00 plate which included the beans and potato salad - great value!) and to top it off Neil was so nice and friendly and made us feel at home while waiting for our to go order. I seen all the reviews and a friend also recommended this place. I really wanted it to be exceptional, unfortunately it wasn't. Neil is a very nice guy and I like to frequent independent businesses. I think that's why I gave him 3 stars. I ordered 2 steak sandwiches and they came with a small container of bbq sauce with two slices of bread. There was no lettuce or tomatoes. Steaks were a bit tough, definitely no comparison to the Graduate. I also wanted to try their ribs. Again, I really wanted them to be good. Unfortunately they were not good, they were dry and charred. Really hard to taste flavor of the meat when the Burt/charred flavor is overwhelming. My Family and I are from San Jose and were visiting my Aunt and wanted some BBQ so we found this place. Walked up to this place and was greeted by the owner like we were Family. We ordered some chicken and tri-tip sandwich and it was off the hook!!! They have these big bbq's outside that they were cooking on so you know it's real bbq and not cooked in a oven!! We didn't wait long for the food and the owner even asked us if we wanted a beer, we passed but he offered a shot of whiskey so my Sister bad ass as she is took him up on his offer!!! She said it was some smooth whiskey...lol...They were playing some old School oldies and music which made us feel like we were at a Family bbq....We left satisfied and thanked the owner for his hospitality.
