I recently purchased a pair of Jacques Marie Mage frames from Good See Co. and while the product itself was excellent, the customer service and fulfillment experience were disappointing--especially considering the nearly $1,000 price point. My first attempt to contact the company was through Facebook on March 21 regarding availability of the Jacques Marie Mage Lucknow in Beluga. I never received a response. I then sent an email on March 26 and also received no reply. Because I was trying to confirm whether the frames were physically in stock before purchasing, I eventually had to call the store directly from overseas at approximately 4:00 AM local time due to the time difference. During that call, I asked why I had not received responses to either my Facebook message or email and was told my inquiry may have been "lost in all the emails." I was also informed that the optical frames I originally wanted were no longer available, but that the sunglasses version was still available instead. I ultimately placed the order on April 10 (April 9 U.S. time) and received a shipping confirmation and tracking number two days later. However, despite advertised 2-day shipping, the tracking remained at "label created" with no movement for over a week. I reached out again on April 19 to ask why the package had still not shipped. I was then told there had been issues with USPS pickups related to military/DPO shipping requirements and was assured the package would ship within 48 hours. To be fair, the frames did eventually arrive and were authentic, properly packaged, and in excellent condition. The product itself was great. However, for luxury eyewear at this price level, I expected significantly better communication, responsiveness, and shipping transparency. Customers should not have to repeatedly follow up across multiple platforms or make international calls in the middle of the night simply to confirm inventory and shipment status. Saw that there was large selection and had no luck finding frames that fit me and so I gave this place a shot. Was welcomed by a young optician (forgot to get her name) but she was very helpful. I got to try on several brands (Ray Ban, Masunaga, Matsuda, Salt) and with her suggestion landed on perfect frames from Oliver Peoples. For the lens, I got the Zeiss ClearMind with Platinum AR coating instead of the gold AR coating as it was stands out too much. Had to wait a week for the lens to be prepared but was totally worth it. I want to highlight the optician. She was very friendly, gave positive feedback during try-on, and offered to fit the glasses but I didn't need to. I can't say enough great things about Good See Co. and their customer service. First, I was directed here as the manufacturer was sold out. I sound the glasses I wanted, in stock and actually on sale. They also had the lense choice I was really hoping for. A few weeks later I actually had an issue with the glasses i purchased, and when I reached out to the manufacturer (a couple times) they ultimately told me sorry, you didn't buy them from us directly, so contact the place you bought them. So I sent an email back to GSC regarding the issue and received a prompt email back from an E-commerce Rep named Mojan. Mojan said they would look into it, and what they could do to help and get back with me. A couple days later i got an email saying the manufacturer would be replacing the damaged frame, and attached a shipping label to send my glasses back to Good See Co. This was fantastic news as the glasses were expensive and the email from the manufacturer didn't give me a lot of hope. Not only did Mojan see this process through entirely, they did it extremely quickly and in a couple days i got the tracking info for my glasses being returned. This day and age, quality customer service is much rarer than it should be, and my experience with Mojan and GSC rejuvenated my hope and the pleasure in the buying experience. Just the selection of eyewear itself is worth five stars, but the service really qualifies them for an "extraordinary" rating. I flew in from the Bay Area with the express purpose of finding eyeglasses from Good See. I know how that sounds, but I had miles, so the plane ticket was $15. I just got sick of having to make appointments in the Bay Area to browse frames, only to find that they didn't have brands or models that I really want to try on. I must have gone to a dozen places here in the Bay Area, and I feel like I not only wasted my time but the time of the folks in those businesses. Good See is the antidote to all of this. They have a terrific online presence, so I could see what they carry (hint: It's a lot); they carry the best lenses on the market; and they have strong relationships with labs to get my complex prescription done quickly. (Last time I got glasses from a place in the Bay Area, it took nearly a month.) The person who helped me at Good See is named Tina. She threaded the needle between encouraging my initial interests and encouraging me to try on other styles. And, while I ended up buying something that was already on my short list, I also found the next pair of glasses I want to buy. After inquiring as to whether they were able to source the frames from the manufacturer, they promptly responded that they could at a very reasonable price. I'm moved forwarded with the purchase, received the framed and they're exactly what I wanted. Shipped two day air (I'm on the East Coast so that was nice) Oh, and their communication though out the process was excellent. Just a word of advice: if you go the custom order route it helps to have reasonable expectations about shipping times. Good See can provide a good faith estimate but they don't control when they ship from the manufacturer. In some cases the frames may need to be made. This was actually for the online store. I first asked the e-commerce manager Farasat on a Friday at 8:50 AM how fast he could ship something because I informed him I needed sunglasses before a specific time (the following Thursday) as a gift. He then responded several hours later stating the sunglasses I ordered would ship if I ordered within the next 1 hour. When I placed my order within the hour, he then told me that because I selected the 2 day complimentary shipping that my order would then ship out the following Monday. I did not opt for the $50 additional shipping because the sunglasses I was ordering would have been shipped to the neighboring county from Good See Co. Now, had I been informed that they would not ship them within the time frame as agreed, I would not have purchased from them. On Sunday, I then emailed Farasat again, reminding him and stating that I needed my order by a specific time. I also informed him that if he could not ship them timely to cancel my order and to refund me. He did not respond to me the following day after they were back open for business, and he still has not responded to that email. Farasat was quick to respond when taking my money though. Because I received no response, I called the shop with the hopes that they had fulfilled their promise or what they had led me to believe by shipping today. When I called, Farasat then told me that they got a lot of orders from Friday, and that it didn't look like this would ship today so he will just cancel my order because it won't make it in time. Farasat did nothing to even try to rectify the situation or even offer an apology, but instead, I then felt he wasted my time and strung me along. In short, if you are in a hurry, do not buy from this place. Their customer service was lackluster, irresponsible, and your order after specifically informing them of its importance is low on their priority list which is a shame considering you're spending hundreds of dollars for sunglasses. I only went with them because they were the closest to me, but you can find whatever they have cheaper elsewhere where customer service actually exists as Entourage of 7 has more dealers now. Now I feel I was blatantly lied to during the entire process. I would avoid this place at all costs. If you look at his response, instead of acknowledging any remorse, he blames the incident on me. Incredibly beautiful craftsmanship. very light, but solid as a rock...the lenses are so incredibly thin...not even sure how it's possible to have gotten them so thin given my prescription. my only issue is i got progressive lenses, and given the small size of the lense diameters, the different distance zones on the lenses are just too close together. i should've just gotten single distance lenses. maybe i'll get used to them, but as of now, they just give me headaches. that is all on me though. they are genuinely gorgeous. pardon my late night hair.
