What was really impressive was that he fabricated polarized lenses that look just like the original glasses would've looked and did them in less than a half an hour while I waited! Stretched out my Persol sunglasses' ear pieces and needed them to be fixed. Found this place nearby and decided to check it out. Upon examination, I was told that they would need to reheat and bend them back into shape and rebalance them, with a disclaimer that it could be broken in the process. It took about 15 minutes and everything turned out great! My sunglasses perfectly fit again and it cost around $20. I would come back here again for future repairs. Keith, the owner of SunOptics really knows his stuff. My prescription is thick, I have a small face and I wanted a funky frame. After trying on a few different styles, (he has a zillion frames and different prices) he pulled out this Prada frame and I was hooked. They have a light tortoise coloring on the front of the cat eye, the sides are maroon, and the inside is maroon, black and white. Keith is fun to talk with, listened to my concerns and got my glasses back in time before vacation. It's an added plus having an optician measure my eye placement for my bifocal lenses. When I went to check out some sunglasses, I got attitude and impatience. I would also suggest vetting this store as a lot of the products could be fake or knockoffs!! Other reviews show customers were unable to get their purchased products verified from the original manufacturer, which suggests he carries b-grades, out-of-season, or variants. It's surprising no one has picked up on this! That probably explains why he sells his glasses for a relatively lower price. By all means, buy from him if you're cool with that. Walked in to ask for replacement lenses and nose pad repair. Only Took 5 minutes to scan the old pair of glasses. The owner was kind, gracious and offered fair pricing for new anti reflective blue light lenses, and new nose pads. One week wait time for ordering and repair, text message sent when glasses were ready. If I remember correctly, they use to be on valley near Garden Cafe where I purchased my first Ray-Ban prescription glasses. Overall, it was a easy breezy transaction. Knocking off three stars for the visibly impatient and irritated attitude by Keith after I requested adjustments on my Tom Ford sunglasses. I came in twice for adjustments- The first time he was very respectful, but the second time he grew impatient commenting repeatedly "I am not sure what you want me to do" when the issue wasn't resolved immediately. He was also trying to simultaneously help other customers who came in after me while I patiently waited for my turn and grew annoyed when I "interrupted" and asked him questions. I don't understand what benefit he expects from being rude to paying customers when I could've gone to Sunglass Hut and gotten the adjustments done for free. read more

Not once did you try to explain the situation to me... the only thing you could muster was "no refund." And if this is the situation with Maui Jim then the customer should be made aware since this is a special circumstance that voids any warranty with them. Or what's the harm in just using Maui Jim lenses? It takes longer? Wouldn't that be better than the customer losing their warranty? For me it wasn't about the money... what's $300? It was the principal of it. Your business has great reviews for customer service... that curtesy obviously doesn't extend to anyone once their money has already been taken. read more

Due to an unfortunate (sober) accident in Vegas, my friend's sunglasses from Australia met the death of my foot. One arm of the sunglasses completely fell off (screw, hinges, etc..the whole shebang) as I panicked for the rest of the trip wondering how to remedy the problem. I found my way to SunOptics without a guarantee that it would be fixed (since they had to ship it to an outside shop) but they promised that they would try. I waited a week crossing my fingers since ordering another pair internationally is slightly out of the question. Luckily, this place provided miracles & they repaired it! I've been coming to this store for so many years now and the only thing that changed is that they moved upstairs. They used to be located downstairs right next to tasty garden but now it's upstairs of it. Since they they still have a great selection of sunglasses to choose from and still the same great discounts. The place is a little messy now but at least the sunglasses are organized. I always put up a good bargain with the owner since I've been here for my eyeglasses. They don't have an optometrist here but he has the machine to cut lens and he always gives me a good deal. I always get my lens here. The only thing they don't have here is Chanel and Tiffany brands but he can special order for you. Other than all the name brands like prada, Gucci, Tom ford, raybans he also has a huge selection of affordable stuff. So if you need some basic sunglasses or eyeglasses you don't have to baby sit .. This is the place. Theres also a selection of some watches by Nixon, fossil, and some others that I haven't heard of. Perfect for gifts imo. Ask for Keith when you come and tell him I sent ya. He'll give you a better price for suuuure. I always get him to give me at least 30%-40% off whatever I want. read more
