Let me start off by saying place is adorable. This is just a review for the to-go-box of 4 s'mores…read morefor $20. Absolutely not worth it. The kit comes with 4 small size regular marshmallows (nothing home made) and 4 TINY pieces of chocolate that wouldn't even cover one s'more. It's all Graham cracker one marshmallow and a smidge of chocolate. See photos. Yes they include a tiny bit of caramel sauce and peanut butter sauce on the side, but I'm sorry, these don't even make complete s'mores. More expensive ingredients...ok. But not including enough to make an ok s'more is odd. The Graham crackers are also run of the mill. Maybe try the s'mores made there? A take home kit your better off getting a bag of large marshmallows, higher end grahams and a nice block of fancier chocolate for $20. I have ZERO problem spending premiums on food and good ingredients...but this kit is a rip off do not do it.

I'm not really a s'mores person, but wanted to check it out since it was new. The owner (I presume) said they've been open for about 3 months now. Décor was cute inside. They have kits you can purchase or you can order individual s'mores. They have a vegan option too, so you'll have plenty to choose from. Good service. Small s'mores, but I guess the vegan and organic ingredients make them a bit on the pricier side ($7-8/s'more). Not complaining, just thought they would be a bit bigger. But I guess I don't need the extra spike in blood sugar anyway, so it's all good. The Classic was good. I ordered mine with oat milk chocolate. This place is still new, so hope folks check it out. It reminded me of a s'mores shop in Portland, Oregon.

The lasagna was probably the best I have ever eaten. It had home made noodles, loads of cheese, red sauce, ham, and topped with cream sauce. My mouth is watering again just writing this review. The burrata was delicious too. It came with a small arugula salad, pesto sauce and a nice sized pice of rosemary bread. I wish I had more room to try their fresh made dessert cannoli's.

Walked into a busy, hot and crowded room that smelt like absolute dough heaven. I've been trying my best to cut out gluten and cheese from my diet and saw online that they had vegan pizza! To my surprise they had a whole vegan menu...amazing. I also ordered one of their many non-alcoholic options- a Riesling wine, really hit the spot. I had a lovely server who took the time out of very busy wave (not to mention only 2 people on the floor) to describe the whole menu to me, he was very kind and attentive. The pizza shown in the picture is a vegan BBQ smoke show, with their authentic Italian flour dough- although not gluten free (I'm not a fan of cauliflower dough) i left not feeling 'sick' or bloated. I was beyond happy that the pizza wasn't lacking in flavor or looks, very well done. If i could have devoured my pizza in one sitting i would have, but i had to bring it home. The space was hot and muggy but sometimes that's where a lotttt of magic happens! First impression was a hit, will definitely be back to test it out again!

Salami is healthy???? Yes! Angel's is the Best!…read more What the so-called medical and nutritional authorities are telling you is that processed meat like "salami" is bad for you. Given the nitrates and nitrites added as preservatives to regular mass-market salami that become nitrosamines in your system as you digest products that contain them are known to cause cancer, you should stay away from any processed meat products that contains them. What we are not being told is that fermented and cured meat products like traditional salumi, prosciutto, coppa and others are actually good for your gut and your health. The natural probiotics (typically lactobacillus) in the fermented meat will colonize in your gut and help to maintain and restore a healthy gut biome. Our pre-industrial ancestors ate a lot of cured / fermented meat since it was the only way to preserve it. Today, in many of the Blue Zones around the globe, centenarians happily enjoy cured and fermented meat products and live healthy lives into very old age. We are being told that the "Mediterranean Diet" is the gold standard - what we are not being told is that cured and fermented (not processed) meat without added nitrates and nitrites such as Prosciutto di Parma, Jamon and Salumi made the old fashioned way (like Angel's Salumi) is a staple of the Mediterranean Diet in Sardinia, Italy and France as well as Spain. The centenarians in Okinawa don't eat beef - they eat pork for their main meat source. Fermented foods in general are great for your gut! Sauerkraut, Kimchi, Kefir etc., along with fermented meat all contain good natural bacteria that helps to maintain a healthy gut biome which is 70% of your immune system. Angel's cured meats do not contain any added nitrates or nitrites - eaten responsibly, they make a tasty treat that's good for your gut. I love Angel's products and rarely leave reviews. I am a Stanford lawyer and have done a ton of research on Blue Zones, healthy aging and glucose / insulin management. My breakfast consists of a sandwich made from keto bread, Angel's Toscano Salumi, avocado, avocado-oil mayo and aged cheddar. My blood glucose levels do not change after eating that concoction of great tasting food! Keep up the good work!!!

Expectacular experience at Jeune et Jolie. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the service and overall experience was simply top notch. The patio space is beautiful and filled with fresh green foliage. The sage and rose colors stand out in the outdoor space. Definitely chic and modern. The food: We started off with the Plateau de fruit the mer: the selection of scallops, shrimp, prawn and oyster was fresh and the flavors they added to each piece made it for a complete unique bite. The three course menu was mainly a hit with the exception of one selection. The hits: Bavarois d'été - caviar , corn mousse Saint Jacques - rhubarb and vanilla Caille- morel was stuffed with sausage Vacherin - decadent and delicious The misses: Gnudi- (the dumpling like version) not bad, definitely not up to par with the rest of the courses. The beverage pairings were a fun add on. Their sommelier comes out for all four drinks and explains how they pair with the food. He also gives you a bit of history on each producer. I'm sad I waited so long to have this wonderful dining experience but I'm happy I finally decided to check it out. Our waitress was lovely too! She made good recommendations and even shared her favorites. I loved the Bavarois d'été so much and could see the dedication put into dish. This prompted me to ask her, "how long does this dish take to make?" She responded "24hours!" I gasped. To learn about the length of time it took to create my favorite course made me even more appreciative for the food I was enjoying. I can't wait to come back and try new items! Nothing but positive things to say about Jeune et Jolie.

Went here as a family for a birthday dinner. Arrived on time for our reservation and were seated…read morepromptly. My daughter was given a birthday card signed by all of the staff. We chose to dine outdoors which was very nice. It was a balmy August evening and nice to dine outdoors. No heat lamps were needed but they have them for cooler nights. The only downside was the train noise which was a minor annoyance. As an aside, when going inside to use the restroom it was very hot and apparent that there's no air conditioning and an open kitchen. Might want to dine outdoors until this rare San Diego heat wave passes. From beginning to end the service was very professional, yet friendly. We were well taken care of. We were promptly met at the table and provided water and drink orders taken. Service was well orchestrated with a nice pace. The four course prix fixe menu ($120) lasted 2.5 hours. The restaurant is advertised as 'French' but I'd describe the cuisine as French nouvelle/New American/Californian. The serve a four-course prix fixe menu, along with an amuse bouche, a bread course and a final chocolate bite, so seven dishes overall. Serving sizes are reasonable and I was the only one to leave hungry (big guy, works out a lot). In my opinion, all of the dishes here were very good but, with the exception of the yellowtail crudo, none of them was over the top. Desert was served with a candle for the birthday girl. Nice touch! The wine list here is almost entirely French with a couple of California wines also on the list. We did the wine pairing ($120) and all of the wines on this list are French. I found all of the wines, except the desert wine (port like) to be mediocre. The kids did the Sans Esprit ($80) which they enjoyed very much. The only negative here is the 4% surcharge added to the bill. It's noted in the small print at the bottom of the menu, so it's strictly legal. However, I personally find upcharges distasteful and not becoming of a restaurant trying to present itself as having great service. I typically subtract this from the tip.
