Ya'll. After almost 3 years of living in Raleigh, I finally had Goodberry's Frozen Custard. It was so worth the hype! This is very rich, fresh, soft frozen custard. I decided to order via Uber Eats. This location always has a very long line and crowds. Delivery was a breeze. I chose the flavors I wanted and back up flavors in the event they were sold out of each. What I received was Nutella & Mint Chip. Mint Chip is my favorite flavor. I've even made my own ice cream and this mint flavor was out of this world ! Very soft and fresh and nothing artificial. My daughter enjoyed the Nutella and shared that it tastes just out of the jar. I will definitely order again and visit the store on Strickland. The freshness factor is a win for me. Since becoming a fan my favorites are the Burgundy Cherry & Mint Chip. I always check for the Flavor of the Day online and order by the pint. My mom recently had the butter pecan and it was delicious. Goodberry's is a favorite in the triangle. read more

I didn't understand the concept of this place. If you want not pre-packaged ice cream here, they ONLY have 3 (yes, three) flavors -- chocolate, vanilla, sugar free vanilla -- plus one flavor of the day which happened to be chocolate mint today. If I were just reviewing this on the flavor and consistency of the custard I'd give it a four or five, but the customer service is not on par with other locations I've visited. I've been here twice now and know I will not be returning. The first visit they were really skimpy with the hot fudge, which was really disappointing. On the second visit I didn't remember about that until it happened again, but what overshadowed everything was the unfriendly customer service. The young man who waited on us although polite, was not friendly at all, and more so was very indifferent towards us. The entire experience with him felt half baked and incomplete once he took our order, like we were left hanging without a thank you or even a nod. He stared out in the distance. Goodberry's, your product is usually very good and priced accordingly, so not inexpensive, but I think customers deserve to feel welcome and treated with appreciation. Service was poor, the guy didn't want to engage when I wasn't sure of how the menu worked. Apparently it's a build your own McFlurry. I asked for more toppings since I paid $6 for a cup of vanilla Ice cream which turns out made the ice cream worse. I had great memories of goodberrys but after today, I'm not sure why. Disappointed. I can't trust this location anymore. This is the second time in a row. I have put order in for takeout and has missing toppings. Tonight I made sure to verify with the girl at the window. She said yes the toppings that I ordered were in there. Tonight i ordered vanilla with peanut butter fudge and cookie dough. Didn't have the peanut butter fudge in it. Seems the girls were overwhelmed. Maybe need to have better trained employees or have more on for the shift. read more

My family normally loves Goodberry's. However, tonight's experience was not normal at all. We were excited to get there and find mint chocolate chip was today's feature flavor...a favorite of ours. We each ordered cups to go and were on our way. To our surprise, when we opened up our ice cream it was a super bright green color and it was very clear they'd put WAY too much mint flavor in the mix! The proportion of custard to mint flavoring was way, way, way off! And there wasn't much chocolate in it at all. I love mint and chocolate together, but I've never had mint chocolate chip ice cream that tasted like frozen listerine. I am not kidding, it was absolutely horrid and it may have permanently ruined my affinity for anything mint chocolate chip flavored from here on. This happened at the Cary, NC location. Right here is a mini concrete with peanut butter custard and m&m's. Peanut butter was the custard of the day on this day. It It was heavy and decadent. The custard is incredibly creamy. I couldn't finish it! The custard is made fresh every hour and dispensed right in front of you. The cool thing about Goodberry' is that they're only located in Australia and North Carolina. They're easy to find and scattered around town so if you're a fan, then you're in luck! They have a list of a bunch of different toppings and they all are wonderful choices. I believe most locations do not have a drive through but it's fun to order from the counter and eat in your car. read more

If there's one not so great thing to say about it is you can't see what toppings they have until you get right up to the ordering window so it takes everyone a few mins to order while everyone else is waiting. The frozen custard is very creamy and the real fruit toppings are mixed in. Of course they turn it upside down before they hand it to you to prove the richness of their frozen yogurt. My 16-year old daughter wanted to try the frozen custard here. Her friends at school ranted and raved about it. We decided to give it a try today. We waited in line about 5 minutes which wasn't too bad. The man at the window taking our order wasn't very friendly, every time we picked something off of the menu, he just said "we don't have that", it would've been nice if he gave us a brief description of what they had and didn't have since I told him we were first time customers. After sitting down, I noticed that both of our custard's were melted and runny. Since this was our first time eating frozen custard, I'm not sure if that's just how it's supposed to be. The young man who took our order was extremely snotty and rude to my wife. She simply asked him if she could get a small vanilla & chocolate twist and he replied with no emotion or smile that that only comes as a mini. He offered no explanation as to what a mini was or why she couldn't simply get a small. He just started back at her with a blank look. My wife ordered something else. I asked him if he had a problem with us or whether there was something wrong with us ordering from him. He replied emotionless... For those of you who seem a little confused by the concept, goodberry's is custard, not ice cream. It's soft, it melts fast. The location offers chocolate, vanilla, sugar free vanilla and the flavor of the day. Anything else you want is mixed in. Please do not come to the window and ask about yesterday's or tomorrow's flavor of the day. it's annoying to the people waiting in line. You can't have them unless you want to purchase a pint or quart. Asking 3 times won't change this. Yes the Service is slow. I went last night because we have guests in town. There were 3 workers and 2 groups of people in line ahead of me. It took 30 minutes to order and get my order. Why? because one was doing dishes, one was looking for a pen and then cleaning out a machine and that left one to take and fill orders. Just know that you will have to wait and you will be fine. Around Christmas, they did have issues where my orders were always wrong, but they seemed to have fixed that issue. read more

What happened to Goodberry's???? My family and I drove from Durham on Memorial Day to visit family in Raleigh and we arrived at this Goodberry's location at 1:30pm. Initially, we were the only customers, and although there were 3 people working inside, the response was slow and the concrete was soupy (no not turned upside down). The service was horrible. The young lady at the window couldn't even say hello to customers as they walked up to the window and she passed me my concrete with a "here". My family and I have been coming to Goodberry's for years and have never had such poor service before. This place officially has my heart. Good berry is thick, delicious custard GOODNESS. I'm originally from Connecticut where we have a bunch of great homemade ice cream shops. So, I was hoping I'd find a great homemade ice cream store here in NC. I wasn't having any luck finding one. So, I plugged in "ice cream" in my ever so faithful yelp app and "Good berry" popped up. I'm a sucker for anything unique, so I decided to try it. I couldn't be happier to have found such a perfect creamy/cold treat! I got the vanilla custard with coconut and toasted almonds.. YUM! Another plus, the mini concrete( similar to the blizzards at DQ) are so big! I'd say there mini size is equivalent to a medium at most ice cream places. And to spice things up, the flavor combinations are endless with the crazy amount of toppings they have. I like to check their flavor of the day calendar to see which day I should come that way I don't have to pay extra for them to make my desired flavor. Some of my favorite flavors are salted caramel, pina colada, key lime, chocolate chip cookie dough, and jamocha just to name a few. FORGET IT...... My Fiancée & I were just here. Ice cream was decent.. (For 5$ a pop) We sat down by the fountain; only to find A FREAKIN' MOUSE crawling inches away from our feet! So We moved and sat up on the bricks ......... Just to make matters worse; we finished our ice cream, went to exit & THE BIGGEST (what we think was a) BATTLE BEETLE was on my fiancées shoulder !!!!!!!!!!! Thing was at least 3 inches in length ... My best advise to management: pest control maintenance plan is $95 / month... Sell 19 damn overpriced custards & you break even. Have staff hose down patio daily & pressure clean weekly. Don't come here if you're expecting ice cream. Goodberry's is creamy delicious frozen custard goodness. They start with a base of vanilla or chocolate (or the flavor of the day) and mix in different toppings to order to make any flavor you want. The only bad thing about this place is that the prices are crazy insane. I worked here in high school and I thought they were bad then, but they've gone up even more! I know it's good, but wow, it doesn't need to cost that much. It's all outside seating, so if it's raining you'll be eating in your car. read more

My husband and I are Fresh and Coldstone lovers, but the line for Coldstone has been crazy long lately and Fresh was too far. My husband convinced me to try this place. I was skeptical b/c I'd never had custard before, but he assured me it was just like ice cream. First, customer service is a big deal to me. Everyone that walked up to the window was greeted warmly except for me any my husband. It was my first time there, and there are no instructions on how to order. I had no idea there were only 2 flavors. The only thing listed on the "menu" are toppings. I mentioned that it was my first time, but the cashier just stared at me blankly. Finally I started to order. "Chocolate w/ brownie and almonds-" Then I was cut off by the cashier who was ready w/ our order total. Um....okay? I guess that's all I'll get mixed in. I had planned on adding caramel, but maybe she was in a rush. Hmpf! So the custard- It was cool. I couldn't really tell there was any brownie in it. It seemed like the brownie had broken into tiny crumbs. No more than 5 minutes later, most of it was melted and it turned out to be more like chocolate milk w/almonds and brownie crumbs. This stuff is really, really good. You get to choose you flavor and what you want mixed in with it. It you can't get something you like here, you are just too darn picky. It is a great place to go, hang out, and eat what you got (unless it is raining or really cold because there is no indoor seating). It is fresh made. You see the custard cascading out the machine into the bucket that they spoon your order out of. Raspberry and chocolate chip vanilla concrete. I crave it constantly. I dream in swirls of soft pink flecked with crunchy chocolate chips. I fantasize about the cool creaminess on my tongue. One time, the News and Observer ran a piece on calories per serving in frozen treats and frozen custard beat everything else out there: ice cream, frozen yogurt, you name it.
