It's been a few years since I reviewed this spot. Things are different now than they were back then. I was not a regular here until I became addicted to their boneless wings. I forget what drew me to their wings in the first place other than they are .59 cents on Weds (.79 cents for bone in). Now that's a deal right there. I even started getting my parents to come here for the wings. I also became a regular here after the closure of Khalils not far from here. I typically see all the regulars from Khalils here when I do come now. This is basically our new hangout now. No one from Khalils works here since the closure but we are now congregating here. Krystal who works during the day, we can't say enough good things about her. I've gotten to know her over the years and so has my family and (Khalils/ now hideout family). Just about every Weds when we do go for the wings, we always look forward to seeing Krystal. I'm still learning some of the others names but, I know Caitlyn, Gabby, Victoria they are all awesome. I mostly come here for the wings, their pizza is just ok, I wouldn't say it's the best I ever had. Their wings are very underrated and I tell everyone I know that this is the place to come to for wings. I have had their other food as well such as the chips, sliders, and mozzarella sticks. The food alone is worth the visit here. They do have lunch specials, daily specials, and other events here. My only kicker, there is no lighting in the parking lot. I know things cost money but, a blue light or some kind of light would help me and probably others feel safe when going in or out of the parking lot. We've been here a few times and each time there is an issue. Tonight, my husband ordered a thin crust meat pizza. It took 30 minutes to come out and it was way overcooked. The crust was almost black and any meat not covered by cheese was black. The server offered to have it remade, but we weren't willing to wait another 30 minutes. My point is, that pizza should have never been sent to our table. There is no one in their right mind that would look at it and think that was okay. Issues in the past have been terrible service and running out of several food items. It's always something here, so we will not return. We can get better pizza and service elsewhere. read more

Overall this place was good but nothing spectacular to write home about...Both times I went during lunch it was completely empty and the music was sooo loud that I could barely talk to the person I was with....and again, we were the ONLY people in the entire place. The location is a bit weird and hidden (hence the name) and is probably the reason why it was dead both times. It is actually really big space and would be great for a big group, party or work lunch. They do have 3 pool tables which I really love!! It's a $1 a game which is a bit high but it works fine for playing a few games during lunch... The food overall is decent bar type food. Comes out hot and fresh and is nothing special or amazing but it was good. The menu has a good variety of options. I had a could of drafts blue moons and they were priced very good. *sigh* this place really has me conflicted. I'll do this review a bit differently and start of talking about the food then in the next section I'm going to hop on a soapbox. So if your looking for a quick "how good is the food?" Review just read the second paragraph and skip the 3rd paragraph. So how good is the food? It's great. I went with my oldest daughter and she got a personal pan Hawaiian pizza, I ordered a large cheese pizza (took half of it home to the other kids) and also a to go grilled chicken salad for the wife who was not with us at the time. The cheese pizza surprised me. It has plenty of substance. Much more than some so called deep dish pizzas proclaim. Very good sauce flavor and a nice cheese flavor with plenty of cheese to spare. My daughter enjoyed her Hawaiian pizza. It was a little pricey for the personal pan. A large cheese was only 2 bucks cheaper than that personal pan. My wife loved her grilled chicken salad. All of this we got for just over $30. The largr cheese was only like $13 or $14. Great value and great taste. This place had 5 star written all over for me. Except...... Time to hop on my soapbox. In the last year spanning from feb 2020 to Current (Jan 2021) I have traveled in 19 different states and eaten at establishments in every single one of them. Now as people currently know and future Yelp readers will probably be well aware of. We are in the midst of a national pandemic in covid 19. Unfortunately this place does not seem aware of that. Of all 19 states and what I would have to guesstimate around 100 plus places I've dined in during this pandemic this is the only place that didn't give a single damn about the pandemic it seemed. They had a musical bingo night and the place was slammed. which is awesome. It seemed like a lot of fun and they appeared to have several regulars. Good for them for being creative during this time. Also this place is huge so they had plenty of room to space out. They kinda had everyone stuffed on one side and the other side was empty. My daughter and I dined on the empty side. The spacing and crowd wasn't my issue. It was the lack of making people be responsible with masks. If your sitting down at the table then cool. But people were walking around mingling, shooting darts, walking to the bar, walking to the restroom, etc etc and no signs of masks anywhere. The employees had masks that was around there necks 95 percent of the time. A few of them put them on while bringing food out or refills out. The other ones including the bar tender never took it off there neck. They all would socialize with other maskless patrons as well. It was genuinely the most embarrassing effort I have seen from any establishment during this pandemic . Honestly, they are lucky someone hasn't reported them to the health board and shut them down. Which would be a damn shame because the food and atmosphere there seems great. Look I get it. This sucks. We all want things to resemble normal. Me as someone who dines out and travels a whole lot and even takes the time to write Yelp reviews maybe wants that as much or more than anyone. But we have to do better. This isn't helping the cause. It's making it harder to get back to normal. Places not following simple formalities are major setbacks. Who cares if you ruffle a few feathers of the locals. If bob gets up and walks across your establishment with no mask then just say "hey bob, mask up buddy". Every other place is doing it. Are you really getting ahead by taking these unnecessary risks? Soap box rant over..... Would I recommend this place. Yes I would. Thousand percent. Would I recommend dining in the rest of this pandemic if you or someone your close to is at risk? Hell no! I ordered through DoorDash and this experience has lead me to never place an order there again. I have seen their pizzas in store, I've attended a snippet of their trivia night-never ate anything but definitely looked and smelled amazing. I ordered a small Reg 2-Topping* with my own added ingredients. Sausage, black olives, mushrooms and extra cheese, there was hardly any cheese at all. I don't see how this pizza even left the restaurant. My taco pizza wasn't that great either. I had to check the app again to remind myself what was supposed to be on it. I went to Hideout pizzeria yesterday evening for dinner. I got us a large cheese pizza to go and when I walked in the environment was really cool laid-back dive bar restaurant type of feel when I walked in there were TVs everywhere there was a bar and to the left there's pool tables and classic arcade games and all kinds of cool things. I went up there I paid online I got a large cheese it was like $13 after-tax and they said will be a few minutes I kind of walked around looking at the atmosphere they had some really cool decorations of the local sports teams in the area high school middle school college all kinds of good stuff. So that was neat to see pool tables look nice TVs it was a good atmosphere for sure. When she handed me my pizza I thought one thing was funny because you know currently were still in the pandemic this lady walked by and I had my mask on and she didn't have one on and she's like hey don't worry I've already had Covid so I'm good what I thought was OK good for you funny whatever but anyway got back home ate the pizza it was fantastic. Racism and bad service. There was one girl helping people. Short Lady with short dark brown hair. She helped people when they came up after us, went to tables that came in after us. She wouldn't even acknowledge we were there. Walked past us 4 times and refused to take our order. It was unsafe because a little boy kept coming out of the kitchen. There was kids laying under a table going to sleep. When I called to report her the team leader acted like she was going to say something to the owner but then hurried up to get me off the phone. There is a large calendar on the wall with a lot of fun activities and karaoke! This is a place to have fun! Service was friendly and timely enough but nothing over the top. First time customer wanting to try this local pizza place So I ordered take out for lunch. I got a thin crust supreme, a 2-topping regular crust, loaded tots and fried banana pepper rings. The regular crust pizza was burnt so bad the cheese was hard so it ended up going in the trash. The supreme tasted very cheap and unappealing. No complaints on the banana pepper rings and the loaded tots were good besides the chewy pre-cooked bacon so I would skip that if ordering. The presentation looked great but the taste was not. I ordered the pretzels with beer cheese (good as per usual) and the meat lover's pizza. The pizza reminds me a lot of Wick's pizza (my fav in Louisville.) Ordered a small and it was surprisingly big. There was also a musician performing when I went (on a Saturday night) and it was just a good atmosphere. The only annoying thing was having to seek out a waiter instead of one coming to us, and the dining area wasn't that busy so idk what the issue was. Great neighborhood bar and pizza place! First things first. The wings are exactly how I like them. They're small yes but cooked just how I like them. I ordered 10 not knowing what to expect and ended up ordering another 15. Of course I shared with the table but ate most of them. My daughter ordered cheese sticks and she very much enjoyed them. I thought they were just ok. Basic cheese sticks nothing special but what you'd expect. We ordered an extra large thin crust pepperoni and bacon, also pepperoni and green pepper. Both pizzas were good. I definitely will be frequently visiting this place because it's so close to home, with good happy hour prices on alcohol, and decent food. The wife loves angry orchard on tap and that won her over right away so thumbs up on that. The atmosphere is what you expect for a neighbourhood bar that includes tv's everywhere, a couple arcade games, and pool tables. I hear they do karaoke on the weekends. Fun place. I see where they got the name "Hideout"; its located on a side street out of view. If you drive a small car, watch out for the gigantic potholes in the parking lot, they may swallow it up. I was planning on the usual great pizza from Derby City Pizza on Greenwood Road but they were closed for a kitchen remodel. I chose Hideout because it was a close local pizza place that was open. I placed the order on the internet and it was ready when I arrived, which was great. The two stars are mainly because of the pizza, cheese, and pepperoni. A great atmosphere for a sit down meal with friends over some drinks. Their menu boasts some original items as well as some traditional staples for a bar atmosphere. Their hot wings are phenomenal, and they aren't tiny like some places try to get away with. This was our first experience at Hideout and we were extremely happy with the food and experience. We got the supreme pizza and buffalo chicken tots with a kids hamburger meal. The pizza was loaded down with toppings and crust was nice and crispy. Buffalo chicken tots was like the best idea I've ever heard and they were delicious! Gave Hideout Pizzaria a chance last night. We don't eat out too much but when we do we like to stay local. The carry out service overal was terrible. Food wasn't ready until 45 minutes after our original quoted time. If I wanted to sit at a bar and wait for my food I would have just ordered in. Asked three different people about my order and the all three said "it will be 10 more minutes." Very dismissive and had no urgency. Placed wasn't even busy. Most of the food was dry and lukewarm. We stopped in yesterday for lunch. The egg rolls were awesome. The large pepperoni & mushroom pizza, not so much. While the sauce, cheese and toppings were fine, it was truly one of the worst crusts I have ever eaten. Spongy and doughy. My wife and I could only eat one piece each, and took the rest home in a box, hoping to save it in our air fryer. It helped a little, but I still would rather have had ANY chain pizza store pie, even Little Caesars. For an order of three egg rolls and a large two topping pizza with only water for drinks, our bill was $40 with tip. You can shear a sheep many times, but you can only skin it once.
