The perfect thickness of the wrapper , filling was delicious with lots of flavor , and the dipping sauce was flipping fantastic ! The egg rolls were just ok but not enough shrimp and the cabbage was dry and flavorless ( boo ) . The packet of the hot mustard was excellent, it was actually hot ! The store itself was spotless and and really cute and the owners are very nice too . The menu on Yelp is outdated, she said it was their Christmas menu and handed me the current menu to order from . My mother raves about the cheesesteaks here. I decided to order the beef lo mein instead but I definitely will come back for the cheesesteak. Very clean and cute restaurant, I was super impressed with the digital menus on the wall. This technology is not typical in most Chinese restaurants. Lets get into the details, the beef lo mein was really good.There was a ton of beef inside of the lo mein, enjoyed the fresh scallions and carrots to finish off the dish. I was surprised how fast it was prepared (less than 10 minutes). The service was great, I decided to eat my lo mein in the restaurant and the cashier brought over plates, plasticware and water after packing it togo. I had them on several times but sadden when they no longer deliver in Bowie. Like I don't understand why when we are a city over the line. If Wegman's delivered to my house, I'm sure you can and get more customers if you do. Food was good and was still hot. We ordered the Bourbon Chicken w/ white rice, General Tso's Chicken, hot & sour soup & a spring roll. It was not at all what we expected. The Bourbon Chicken was horrible!! It looked like just grilled chicken, sliced and topped with sauce. The flavor was bland and not tasty at all. The General Tso's Chicken was not crunchy and had a lot of batter. For me this is hands down the best Chinese in the area. The customer service is incredible, the staff/owners remember us by name, give great recommendations, and are very friendly. Good Chinese is so hard to find, but we hit the jackpot when finding Goodie's! I've been in the area for a little over two years and it's been a struggle to find quality carryout food. Although there are a few minor changes I would like to some of the dishes, this food is still really good, and even on the second day warm up on top of the stove or toaster oven. The egg drop soup, pepper and onion beef, shrimp fried rice, pan fried dumplings, and sesame chicken were all very good. My only wish is that the fried rice had less use of oil and the inner veggies used in the spring roll weren't mushy (my daughter loves them both with no complaints). I loved the fried rice, but my plate has a large amount of oil remaining when the rice is gone. I guess that's one of the takeaways when ordering good fried rice. Ohhhhh my goodness!! The employee who said they are the best in the area was not lying. I'm not from the hood, but I have been to a few corner store Chinese Carryouts. If you ever been to one that sold chicken and mumbo sauce...oooooweeee! Captured in the photo is General Tso's Shrimp, Shrimp Fried Rice, and Fried Chicken and mumbo sauce. That chicken and mumbo sauce hit just right. This is my new spot! The food was excellent, including the service. As for the General Tso's Shrimp, that's gonna have to take a backseat for now. I recently started Door Dashing and was curious because I have received many delivery orders for Goodie's Cafe, and decided to give it a try. I'm sooo glad I did. I was very impressed by the size of the meat portions in the dishes. I tried Pork Fried Rice, Chicken/Beef LoMein, Crispy Beef, as well as Orange Chicken and General Tso's Chicken. All the dishes came with lots of large slices of meat. I ordered online from the Goodie's Cafe menu and was able to exchange white rice with fried rice, on entrees, at no additional charge. I ordered the 3 wing combination with shrimp fried rice. The wings aren't pieces, they're whole. I asked that my rice be made spicy and it was not. Despite the small snafu in my order, the portion was more than enough to divide into two servings. Goodies is a small, quaint establishment in a small business area. There was no problem finding parking, my order was easily placed and quickly prepared. There's limited seating but the areas were clean & there were some magazines to entertain you while you wait or dine in. GOODIES is GOOD! Fresh, flavorful, filling food! My husband and I stopped here on a recommendation and we came away with a warm bag and a smile. They had a cute little table at the door with the menu to view and a jar of colorful candies to eat while we waited for our order. We got fast and friendly car-side service and watched several cars come to pick up orders that had been placed online. They were busy!!
