We selected Goodrow's Fencing to replace a 16 year old cedar fence, after getting an estimate which matched our needs. Sadly, this company's follow-through is below average. We scheduled the work to begin the second week of August, so that it would be completed prior to installing a new roof and gutters. I had been out of the country, but neither my wife or I received any communication from William. On the day the project was to begin, nobody showed. I called William, who apologized and said his crews had gotten behind in their other jobs, and they'd need to reschedule. The rescheduled date arrived, and no crew. Same excuse, and again, we had to contact William. We delayed the start of our roof project another week, but that ended up coinciding with the eventual arrival of one guy, Junior, to start the project. Junior who is a very hard worker, was left to do most of tearing down the old fence, and digging the postholes for the new one. He was occasionally assisted by one other guy, but what was promised as a three-day job turned into almost two weeks. The fence is of okay quality, but after the first rain, the wood has swelled, and the gates are difficult to open/close. Also, they left off the exterior gate handles, which means my 5' tall wife can't open the gates from the outside. I sent William an email detailing those issues, including photos. No response. When I called him a week later, he acknowledged receiving the email, but asked me to re-send it. He said he'd try to come by within a day or two to fix the problems. That was a week ago, and we've heard nothing. We don't recommend Goodrow's Fencing, primarily because of this lack of customer service. We have no confidence that this company will stand behind their warranty. read more

Estimate was for one fence post. All other panels (not sure if this is the correct term) were fine. I am not a handy person but have had other reputable companies come and inspect and they all confirmed they were fine and that we could simply replace the one post. Goodrow explained once they replace the broken fence post, usually the lining doesnt match up so the adjacent panels need replacing. Total cost was over $3000. Which was excessive in my mind. Other companies I called in (2 more) provided estimates in the $500 range.....huge discrepancy. No opinions here, these are just facts of my experience. Beware and consider for yourself is Goodrow is suitable for you. read more

Voucher was purchased Nov. 20. Staff member never showed up for an appointment on December 10 at 12 noon at the rental house where services was supposed to be performed. We waited for 2 hours, then William left a message 1-1/2 hours later saying he could not make the appointment. We had to miss work for this no-show appointment. Another appointment was rescheduled for December 23 at 12 noon, and we just got a call THE day of appointment that William will not be showing up for the appointment, and that the next available appointment date to fix the fence will be February 13--almost 3 months after we purchased the voucher from Angie's List. We are requesting for a refund. read more

As a first time home owner I had many projects ! My fence was a priority . I called 2 different company's Goodrow's and another . The first company came out and gave me an estimate of $13,000.00 for about 200' of fence . Now I even know that's way to much . I called Goodrow's . They came in way way under about $10,000.00 cheaper . Old fence was down in one day the next day the new one was up . I couldn't be happier ! I explained that there could be no gaps at the bottom. They replaced a large portion of my fence. Did a fine job. I will be using them again next year to replace my other side of the old fence.

So William was the "preferred" contractor of my development area and so under the advice of the foreman I contacted him, He installed my fence and yard for just short of 10K from which hindsight being 20/20 was prime dollar. After the first winter half the yard died and it took a huge effort to get the yard back by summer, this last winter it was worse, the yard now has standing water from improper grading (I HAVE THREE DRAINS) which made the existing drains in the yard ineffective. I dug and was shocked to see the majority of the yard only had 2 to 3 inches of topsoil, far below the agreed upon 4", due to this cutting corners to save a buck allowed water to stand on the clay surface below the topsoil. I contacted William and his crew about the issue, he agreed to come out, I was notified until minutes of his arrival and I missed the appointment, his secretary said he examined the issues, I wasn't asking for a hand out, willing to pay for work and meet him in the middle to fix this issue, but after that he never returned my calls after multiple attempts, his secretary does a good job deflecting for him so now I'm stuck with a swamp, initial quotes are 6800 to fix this and thats above the 10K I have already spent for a small back yard. He states he is now out of the SOD business but his business practice and apthatic approach to customer satisfaction has now led me to put him on blast on all the sights so others dont have to endure the mistake I did. William if you read this I am still willing to give you an opportunity to get this right and provide me an opportunity to update this review as resolved. read more

After receiving a few estimates and meeting a few other companies, I decided that William would be the most reliable and enjoyable to work with. I was right. Work was sub par. 'Customer service' was a complete joke. We had a retaining wall and cedar fence built by Goodrow's in August 2016. When the job was 'finished', I had several concerns that were pretty much ignored by the company despite my emails and phone calls. Unfortunately, since we had already paid in full, the company no longer had any interest in customer satisfaction. It's been 6 months, and I'm still upset about it. I would not recommend this company to anyone, and I would certainly never consider hiring them again! read more

I had to call them twice to get someone out for a bid. Told the guy that showed up everything I wanted done. No small job to be sure. Cedar Fencing, brush removal, tree removal, sod, Landscaping, pavers, water feature, Iron Gate, and more. Some they said they didn't do, but some they did. Fine, do what you do and I'll find someone for what you don't. He said he needed to talked with his equipment operator about the dirt work and would get back to me. first, the work they did was satisfactory. but, in a nutshell, they charged too much and did too little. work that was expected was not completed because they couldn't or wouldn't do it. i had to hire someone else to do it. they'd show up without notification when they showed up. the final cost was out of line with no adjustment for the work they didn't do. i won't hire them again. it's not i've experienced better. it's i've experienced a lot better. read more
