What is with the cranky people working at Goodwill? Are they volunteers? Prisoners working off sentences? Employee impersonators? I can't for the life of me figure out how they're working in a place called 'Goodwill' when they clearly have none. I don't dislike the store and have shopped in Goodwills all over California but seriously, somebody needs to do better hiring, whether it's Corporate or a local manager. This 70 year old does not like being yelled at for any reason, but especially when you don't have the help required to help someone at a locked jewelry counter. I stood for quite a while at the counter even calling out to a passing employee (ignored). And no-one likes to be number 14 standing in the line with only one check stand open. I like coming to this Goodwill location because it's in Roseville, so I feel safe going into and browsing around inside the store. I don't like coming to this Goodwill location because it's one of the messiest Goodwill locations I have been to. There is always stuff on the floor and everywhere! There is also always giant tubs of stuff blocking the aisles waiting to be put away. Last time I came in I heard one of the customers complain to an employee how bad the condition of the store was getting. The employee couldn't have been more uninterested. They have a large women's clothing selection, but I haven't browsed it to see the quality/prices because I can never seem to find anything that fits me. The areas I do love to browse in are their Books and Puzzles/Games. They have rows and rows of gently used books, a lot of which have been recently released. They are organized by subject which is nice. They also have a good selection of puzzles. In my never ending quest for puzzles, I have bought three here so far. Prices seem to be a little high. I remember I could come in here a few years ago and buy puzzles for about $2.00 each. They are now almost all $3.20+. As long as my puzzle search continues, I will keep coming back. read more

Since this is bordering Rocklin and Roseville, most of the more expensive items show up here. This store is a little run down like most Goodwill's but it generally put together. Clothing is put together pretty well but when it gets to the electronics and shoes, it can get a little messy. Drop off here can be pretty long depending on what time and day you come by. This location can be hit or miss. If I have time to dig I almost always find something, it's just not always what I was looking for! Recently I scored a BCBG/Max Azaria dress for $5, a near-mint midcentury desk for $40, a Radio Flyer in decent shape (good enough for my lil monster to destroy, anyway) for $8 and a beautiful serving tray for $1. I outfitted the majority of a recent vibtage gallery wall project with finds from this location, and I haven't purchased a picture frame for more than a dollar in longer than I can remember thanks to the extensive collection they always sport. As previous reviews have mentioned, the aisles are very narrow and the checkout line can take forever. But I'm willing to deal with these small, tolerable annoyances when more often than not I walk away having scored at least SOMETHING to justify the trip. However, as also previously pointed out, be smart when scoping price tags -- sometimes you can get that dress brand new for the same price or cheaper at the Ross right down the road. (However, remember that every dollar you spend here is valuable in that Goodwill is dedicated to providing training and job opportunities to adults with disabilities. Personally I'd rather pay full price at Goodwill than at a big box retailer; even if it's a dollar or two more than it "should be", it's still likely a hell of a deal!) They do have a strict 24-hour pick-up policy on furniture, fyi, so set that alarm and make sure you retrieve your stuff on time or they'll re-sell it! Happy Hunting! read more

Very disappointed in this location. First off their prices are absolutely ridiculous; $5.99 for a used bathmat that we ended up going to Walmart down the street and spending $8 for brand new. Their books are no longer $1.99 for paperback and $2.99 for hardcover, their Harry Potter books were priced at $5.99 even though many had damage to the cover. The store is disorganized, as it usually is, but with the prices we were paying before I didn't mind as much. Many items were broken or in poor condition, but they still had them priced nearly at retail. We spend a lot of time and money at the many thrift stores in Roseville and Antelope, but I think we will be taking this one off our list. I hope that there will be some changes done in the future so that we can possibly return. read more

This is very bad place to shop anything.. We try to return some item and all those items still have tags on them. You can tell they didn't use or wear after we brought them..(after I brought it, they still in the same bag... We just change mind) They said they have sign at store everywhere and said every sale is finial sale...... But you barely can see those TWO signs.. Also.. when they told me the receipt has noite on the bottom, but the receipt they gives to me is rip off, you event can't see the noite. The Store manager even don't want to give me store credit, even she knew those stuffs are the same when I brought them. Never Never come to those Store to shop anymore.... This particular Goodwill thrift shop was a huge disappointment for me :/ I am a seasoned thrift, yard sale, garage sale any kind of sale shopper. I am also not a cheapskate yet know full well the value in items. Thrifty and cheap are polar opposites. Only they are. I think the first area that humbled me and put myself back in check was that I assumed that because this Goodwill was located in Roseville it would possess a higher quality and selection of donated used goods. Wrong. Wrong wrong. What I did find was a small store with unfriendly employees who move at a snails pace. Zero customer service and even less personality; from every single employee I encountered which totaled three. Next, what a tiny selection of everything. I'm serious and not exaggerating. What was on display was grossly overpriced. $5.00 for a used no name average quality dare I say plain, no frills tank top? $10 for a single small non brass,copper or quality metal candle stick? I can go to Ross as another Yelper noted in their review of this joint and locate either of these two examples with superior quality and selection for the same price if not less than Goodwill is selling their donated stuff for and be more satisfied with my purchases. All the way around. It appears I'm a hood rat with some class; at times, and will continue to shop at the thrift shops over here in my neck of the woods aka: Arden Arcade. By doing so I consistently score gently used if used at all treasures that are reasonably priced AND receive service with a smile as well as genuine friendliness from the people who staff them. I'm going to be the douchebag who doesn't think this place is 5 stars. I will tell you why. 1) $4.99 for a used tank top is a skosh overpriced. I can find a sale on a new tank top, or use one of the billions of coupons I get in the mail to make a brand new shirt cost that much. So, that was a turn off. 2) It is a LITTLE small. Otherwise, pretty good. I went here once and wasn't terribly impressed. I thought since it was in such close proximity to the Galleria that there would be loads of nearly new designer clothes that rich people donated for us plebians to fight over. There wasn't as big of a selection as I expected, but there is more cute stuff than most thrift stores. I gave it another try today, and it redeemed itself. I found a nice book, some Pink PJ pants that totaled at just over 4 dollars. I also found a pair of nearly new Riedell ice skates, with real leather soles (blades screwed in with SCREWS and everythang) for get this, $10! If you ice skate, or have gotten the urge to look at how much is costs for ice skates, that is a STEAL. Unfortunately they were too small, and I didn't have enough money on me to buy them and resell for a profit. Oh well. I would recommend, as long as you don't mind digging. read more

Hello all, hope everyone is safe and healthy.. Re: GoodWill, Fairway Blvd location (Roseville/Rocklin, Ca) My Wife and I went to drop off stuff at GOODWILL (We are Giving them Stuff Remember).... We didnt need a receipt, just wanted to drop off items that they can process later when they have time.. We were met by a really RUDE employee that proceeded to let us know that we needed to wait in line that was 20 cars deep.. What me and my were doing wasnt stopping them at all from processing the current cars in line... We drove up an alternate way (Back way) without "Cutting around the Line". There were no Signs anywhere telling us to "GO AROUND". We've dropped off many times here and this what we have always done.. There was clearly unprocessed items right next to where we were dropping our items... After this jerk of an employee yelled at us to leave and go around inline, we took the stuff to the DUMP.. I came here after a long time they have decent stuff. I bought stuff worth of $40. The problem was the tape most of their houseware stuff with heavy masking tape and the girl at the register didn't wrap them in paper so when I went home, I noticed 3 items with cracks and the heavy tape was hard to get off and may have been the cause of cracks. They should be organize with their shelves instead of taping them and just throw them on the shelves. read more

This store discriminates against their customers. They don't allow people in who are medically exempt from wearing mask. Which is ridiculous. First I have shopped here before without a mask. Proving it is not store policy it's based on the employee's individual beliefs and views. Which is discrimination. Some people physically can not cover their mouth and nose for a reason. Review of donation system not for store itself. I haven't shopped here but I recently made a number of stops to donate. They are accepting donations even during Covid. They have employees out in the donation area guiding traffic and ensuring social distancing. These employees are kind and helpful. They were gracious and it felt good to be able to donate since most places are closed to donations at this time. read more

It's a very small goodwill and I mean veeery small. It almost feels like your in a hoarders house because there is barely any space to move. The employees are a little rude. Also, Everything is so overly priced at this location. I found some things I wanted to purchase, but a couple dollars more I could buy my item new. This location is horrible for donations. I had to go the location three different times. The first time despite their website saying otherwise it was closed. The second time it was open but closed for donations at 3 pm. That's fairly useless for anyone who has to work. The third time the line was was wrapped around the building and there seemed to be no urgency or efficient method to move people through and get the donations done quickly. I would go to a closer location but they have all been closed. read more

Walked in and there was an older gentleman sitting on a chair, right inside the door. He yelled, "Where's your mask?" I smiled kindly and let him know I had a medical exemption. He stood up in my face and yelled, "No you don't!" Extremely rude, not to mention, against the law to refuse service because of someone's medical condition. Nice store but the prices are the same as they would be brand new in the store. 5$ for a coffee cup and 15$ for a WalMart brand sweater? I go into a thrift store for three reasons...ecology, charity and a good buy. When I can find many of the items for the same price at my local Ross and Walmart stores new, it really takes the entire meaning of thrift store and stomps all over it. I especially don't care for the fact that every time I pick up an item I have to wonder if the marker that is used to scribble the price directly on the item is going to come off. My first experience at this location ended with me swearing off the store after i was overcharged by almost double and was treated poorly by an unprofessional, discourteous manager. My friend drug me here and I was thinking, "No way will I be caught in a Goodwill." However, when I saw the books and the prices on books I quickly changed my mind. Every few weeks we go in and search the books for my kids and myself. You cannot beat $.50 to $2 for books there! The dishes and what not are also great finds for my crafting needs. I love this Goodwill because it's really well organized and clean, and has really great items. I have found awesome jewelry, vintage glasses, decanters, and even an amazing Indian dress that was embroidered and jeweled! The only con is that some of the stuff in here is really overpriced. I am trying to reduce my impact on the environment by buying used, but sometimes the items are priced higher than they would be at a normal store. You can still find a bargain, but you better dig! read more
