I visited last week. The store is small, but it has a little bit of everything. Personally, I think the prices are a bit high compared to another thrift store in town. For example, jeans were around $9 here, while they were about $6 at the other store. Unfortunately, we encountered an unprofessional and ill-mannered supervisor. She was in the right to inform us the store was closed for the day - that was not the concern. Her body language and tone were completely uncalled for and frankly rude. Goodwill prides itself in providing jobs. Whether her job is unfruitful or poorly paid is not our concern. But she must understand customers at this location keep her employed and all must be treated with decency. I'd like to reiterate, it wasn't what she said, it's how she said it displaying no customer service skills. I worry her tone persists with others due to the nature of the regular humble customer. I hope that is not the case. I understand we have bad days but people are paid to work and must at least be respectful and courteous while on the clock. For future shoppers, please be wary and do not allow anyone speak to you in this manner. I hope she has superiors who can review this comment and address this lack of leadership and customer service by providing her with further professional development and training on how not to talk down to people. read more

Zero customer service! The manager himself is rude as! He told me to pay attention while he punch my goods which is supposed to be his job. I went there to inform him he punch more than what we received and he acted that I was lying! These are donated things which I aleays buy here to support them but I could have gone somewhere to shop! I went in today and there were no prices on any items. A gentleman told me that everything is $4.69. or $.25 When I went to the front desk, I had items that were like 2in x 4in and still was $4.69. Seriously??? When asked about discount days, she said Tuesday for Seniors and Wednesdays for Veterans. What about Students or teachers? I was told that the machine was broken that does that label. I love going here with my mom. But, yesterday, there's a lady who assisted me on my payment. She looks like she's not in the mood. She didn't put my purchased in a bag , I have to asked her for it. This is my favorite place to shop for used items and donations are made easy. The people are wonderful, especially John who usually works at the donation site in the back of the building. He always has a smile and welcomes me back like we're old friends. He's always patient and helpful even with the cranky donators. read more

Last year when I moved to Manteca. I needed frames on the cheap. Yeah I got them. But my last visit sometime this year sadly is my last. I walked into the store with my kid there's a strong odor of marijuana. I saw sketchy people roaming around the store not shopping. But scooping out other people. I knew right then. I needed to leave. I didn't feel safe nor comfortable. I do not want to get robbed and or hurt. So I left the store. Went to another store for more frames. Why on earth would they put Paris Hilton and Victoria Secret stuff in a locked case. It's beyond me. It's not a luxury label. I've had multiple incidents in the past 2-3 years where the customer service is horrible and they are very rude.

A smaller Goodwill store but still their book selection was decent. Not too many clothes unfortunately. Yet the staff was friendly and chatty; all of them. Located in the same parking lot and shopping center as Save Mart Grocery store and Rite Aid store this Goodwill is worth a look. They had a decent selection of household items too mostly reasonably priced. I purchased gently used like new books while I was here and picked them up for $1 each. Love this. When I'm done with them I will either keep them to review in the future or donate them to a thrift store and let the process of donating continue. In a nutshell smaller store with less products for sale in comparison to a larger store and maybe a larger city like Sacramento where the volumes of goods for sale are more akin to the volume of the population. read more

They open for donations at 10 AM. I showed up at 9:50 and the worker came up 20 minutes later and said he had a mess I needed to come back at 11! I asked can you just take the bags? I had some items that I wanted to donate. I only had one hand to work with because I had surgery on my right hand. I put a box on the ground for a moment because I was going to add some things to it. The attendant turned in me and told me don't put things on the ground, when I drove up, I didn't get a hello I didn't get it. Can I help you with attendance that we're out there spent more time talking to each other then doing good customer service and helping out the customers that were donating to their store. Now I like Goodwill. They're very courteous inside the store , but this gentleman is part of the store and because of the way he gave lousy customer service and didn't even bother to assist me. I've only been in this store a few times and have no comment one way or the other about the inside. However, I have donated items and was disgusted with the way one employee handled them. He just dumps or pours items into the bins without regard for breakables. He's a slightly overweight, young Latino guy. So seeing there was only one review, and one picture I decided to check out this place for myself. This Goodwill is different than what I'm used to, it isn't a set price for clothing, and linens. It's all priced different with tags. But I noticed some mens clothing was priced the same.. Really weird.. We saw a last chance sign and thought.. OOOOOO does that mean 75% off... 50% off.. 40% off... 30% off.. No last chance clothes are only 25% off?!? Not worth the discount. I gave them an extra star because the dressing rooms, and restrooms were very clean. I will not be back to this Goodwill, the prices are a little high for my taste and some staff aren't very friendly and act like you are bothering them with your presence. read more

Overall, the place is easy to donate clothing and other unwanted items. However, I would recommend finding another location to donate that would be more appreciative. I brought a whole truckload of children's things. My grand kids have moved away. I helped raIse them for 7 years. Even the passenger side of cab was full. I'm a 68 year old woman. The attendant in parking lot with colorful hair went on and on about how Management made him where this mask in the heat. That he wasnt suppose to wear. I had a mask on even though I have been vaxed I wear a mask to protect me and the other. The variant is spreading and killing unvaxed people. He ranted at me the whole time about how Dr. FAUCI was part of Kremlin and he was uneducated and that polio was also a made up way to inject and controll people. He doesnt know what he is talking about. I lived it. My cousins were crippled by polio. I was polite despite being annoyed. After I finished unloadong my truck in 97 degree by myself while he talked on, I said thank you and told him He was a US minority in his thinking and he should get out of this work and get a college education and study world history. My family and I always love a good thrift store fix ;) although Not usually from this store. I come here on and off and I can find some cool things but the prices are usually so ridiculous that I'd rather wait and find a better deal elsewhere. Also they have this rule(?) that if you find something not priced, they have to keep it until the next day till it gets priced. Or so they said... When we went back to check the next day, still wasn't priced. So we tried again later that day, only to get rude customer service from the manager who could do nothing to price the item. Why would they be called a manger if they cannot even price one single item? Anywho, that item could be long gone in the arms in another owner by now or possibly "thrown in the back with the piles of other items" as the manager said, waiting to be priced. This is the cleanest, neatest Goodwill store I have ever been in. The clothing is well organized and knicknacks are grouped and displayed by color. All merchandise is labeled. A note: the letter is their inventory control while the number is the price. For instance A-4 means the item is $4. I found a great vintage brooch and earring set here, will most definitely return! read more

My family comes here probably 2-3 times a week because we crave good deals and thrift shopping. Over the years I have noticed most of the clothing become more expensive- at the point I'd rather buy the item new than used from what the prices Goodwill offers. Don't get me wrong- still great deals at the store, (if you can find them),but I don't buy clothes at Goodwill any longer- the used price is not worth it to me. Another recent change that makes me sad is the amount of books this goodwill store no longer carries. Now on the bookshelf, there are VHS, DVD, records, leaving one small tiny section for books and the other two are for children books. I used to love coming in and finding a great book to read- now I cannot do this because the books are limited. Please bring back the books. Some of us still enjoy reading. read more

I can always find something special at this store and I go weekly if not more. The staff are friendly and the prices aren't bad. The store is clean and orderly and they are always stocking the shelves with "new" items. Of all the thrift stores, I know of in Manteca, this one is far above the rest. Steer clear of this goodwill. I went to donate a bunch of good quality clothes & there was a old man working in the back where you drop it off. They had cones up for you to drive thru to drop off. Well I didn't know that, no signs no nothing stating that. We get out of the car carrying a huge box & he yells "GET IN LINE". Then tried to intimidate us with his glare. He yelled "GO THROUGH THE CONES LIKE EVERYONE ELSE". At this point I'm mad & said get your manager please. She comes out & says she was the assistant mgr & what the man said was their policy, however he has no business talking the way he was. Soo rude. As I proceed to tell her how rude the old man was he comes walking up to my car & I said stop & my bf yelled for him to back up. He starts cussing the F-word at us. The poor manager had to put her hands on him to reframe him from coming closer. He says F-this bullshit, F this F that. We were shocked. She told him get back get back & go inside. Seriously what kind of people does this place hire? He should be let go for his actions. For a manager to have to put her hands on him to stop him from threatening us is absolutely unacceptable. I have shopped thrift stores for my clothing for years. While it is better than retail most of the time, it still is a bit on the pricier side. However, their new dollar rack is great! I love to go in and just check out what different household and decorative stuff they have. I have found some really unique pieces for my home that way. The store is clean and well organized. The two women said they can't take it and sell it if it doesn't. That they tested before taking it. Ok fine I bought it. Go home and it doesn't work at all! I called and said I want to return it they said sorry nope too bad. So let me get this straight you sell an item you know doesn't work and lie about it to make a sale, then ask me to round up the dollar amount to make change for change? First you lie then you steal my money i work my a*s off for? Well goodwill let me tell you something right here and now. What you did is illegal and I've talked to my lawyer who's going to file suite against you. It would have been easier to give me my 10 bucks back but bow you will have to pay more. NEVER AGAIN! The Goodwill in Manteca, California is NOT pet friendly, nor is the staff working there! I just purchased my Toy Yorkie Puppy this afternoon, and on the way home, I stopped at a local McDonald's and drive thru was packed, so I went inside. I took my puppy, as I couldn't leave her in car in California heat! Nothing was said but "Awww...how cute!". Afterwards, I stopped by Goodwill to get a few things for the house. I was rudely approached by a male clerk who said "That's clearly NOT a Service Dog...You can't have your dog in here!" I asked if it was posted. He stated "No, but you need to take the dog out!" Not wanting to escalate the matter, I told him I would choose another place to do my shopping. First of all, IF that's their policy, it should be POSTED. Secondly, what PROOF did he have that it WASN'T a service dog? Thirdly, I was carrying the one pound dog. Also, NO ONE else was in the store, but a woman and her kid, that were leaving as I walked in. And finally, he was rude to a customer for no good reason! I have spent many years shopping there, and spent many dollars at Goodwill, each time rounding up my purchases to donate to THEM. I've donated my unused household items there for many years, now, too. My Puppy was in my arms asleep, Goodwill doesn't serve food, the store was empty, it was too HOTT to leave her in car....WHAT HARM WAS IT TO ALLOW ME TO SHOP?! I am rating a one star because my experience is not one that will make me return! The worker there was very rude and impersonal. Normally all the workers there talk to their customers and smile. This one rushed me and didn't even answer or comment on my conversation or questions. She seemed in a hurry and it wasn't even around their closing time. She continued to ring up my items and didn't say thank you, goodbye, how are you, etc. Workers should be friendly not ring a whole purchase without saying a word to you.
