In honor of Earth Day, I decided to revisit some of my favorite thrift shops. You don't really know a thrift shop unless you visit it multiple times. With each visit, if you find irresistible temptation, the shop has your number and you should run away as fast as possible, while yelping loudly and quickly so that temptation goes away faster. This is exactly what happened to me over three visits. With each visit I had to resist temptation in my favorite collectible areas. The kitchen area threw fabulous cast-iron pans at me. I don't need more cast-iron pans. But these were in such pristine condition. A quick cleanup, a touch of seasoning and they would be good to go. And some of these were clearly vintage pieces. I have a serious weakness for collectible cast-iron, but I literally have no space for hobbies like this. But wait, that was not the end of it. I ran into what looked like an absolutely pristine clay pot. Thank goodness I've run out of space in my kitchen. I just purchased a clay pot for $45. This five dollar clay pot was just killing me, but I had to walk by it. Onward to the clothing section. 100% silk from brands that I would love to be able to afford in department stores. This one with French cuffs where I finally get to use my collection of cufflinks. Ahhh...! Then I was looking for UV protective clothing, which seemed like an odd item except that I kept finding items in almost every category. The only way I was able to resist even more temptation was to skip entire sections. Then there was the furniture section. The first visit, I was tempted by an antique sewing machine. As irresistible as this was, it was so impractical and space thirsty that I was mostly intrigued, but was able to walk by it. This visit was ridiculous. There was this beautiful little adjustable side table. It folded up neatly but could expand to become twice as useful. It was only 10 bucks. Thank goodness it didn't fit in my car. Because it wouldn't fit in my place. The bike looked promising. Alas it was 50 bucks and it needed new tires. Nah. Too much work. I took the time to check out the books thoroughly instead of my usual just skipped to the cooking and gardening sections. There were quite the handful of interesting looking books for a mere two dollars for the hardcovers. Now, my book storage at home has reached earthquake, dangerous levels. I was able to escape temptation by quickly checking my online library and locating electronic versions. Whew! Save by my Earth Day library efforts. Checking out the electronics, I managed to put off backup items from the last visit. Vacillating, I decided to revisit this section. Thank goodness, clearly the store is hopping because the items that I had in mind were just plain gone. Whew! All in all, this thrift has risen in my opinion to dangerously tempting and useful status. It's one of those thrifts where frequent visits are worth it because the inventory changes relatively frequently. read more

We stopped by on Friday and they were closed. It said closed due to staff shortages. Several people stopped by and realized it was closed.

Drove out of my way, waited a very unnecessarily long time in line. Two judgy ladies standing outside with gloves wanting to discuss the value or lack thereof for every single item in my trunkful of boxes of that I was giving freely. I won't be giving anything to Goodwill again. Waste of time and as if I ever want to deal with that type of awkward encounter. I can donate stuff on nextdoor and if its not wanted i can toss it, and then people thank me and I get more of my moneys worth for weekly garbage pickup. I'm not a high end retailer looking to upsell you, so just take the free boxes and make it quick. I had like a hundred things to give you and you lost me about ten minutes in at item 3. O was driving by and decided to stop by here. It was a medium size not too big. There were some stuff but not too much. It was a very busy store. It's a hit or miss here . I was only able to find a romper for $10 definitely a great price. Overall okay but was not the best one I've been to. read more

We were in the area and decided to come in check out the inventory! It's really hard to write a review on a thrift store. Its inventory is based on donations. If you're looking for something in particular, it's a hit or miss kind of thing. Sometimes, you'll find a piece of treasure you were not expecting!! The store itself was fairly organized. This Goodwill sits in a strip center with many other businesses and unfortunately, the parking can be a little tight. This place is closed Monday and Tuesday so it tends to be a madhouse on Wednesday. This is definitely one of the smaller Goodwill's I'm familiar with which is about the size of a large convenience store. As a result, they have very little in the way of furniture and no aisles of knickknacks like you'll see it other Goodwills. What knickknacks and accessories they do have are piled on top of the clothing racks. Basically the entire store is all about clothing with everything else pushed off to the perimeter. All the clothing is tagged with colored plastic tags which do not have any prices. As a matter of fact, nothing has a price tag on it. The menu of prices are on a small screen behind the register. It would be nice if they had these prices posted elsewhere in the store instead of just in one hard to read spot. If you're in the need of shoes or clothing, this would be a good spot to check out. They have no sales or senior/military discounts and no refunds or exchanges. Not my favorite Goodwill. read more

This is a small small Goodwill, to say the least. No fitting rooms. Not very visually organized. Cramped spaces while shopping... But. . . If you like to thrift, consign, bargain shop.... Definitely check this location out. Just for the mere fact that it's located in Napa and given the overall vibe of the city, the name brands that you can find here are unbeatable. Name brands... Sometimes stuff with tags still attached.... High end... Quality clothing for sure. This is definitely one of the thrift shops to add to your bookmarks if you find yourself in town. No trip to Napa was complete unless dad took me to his favorite thrift store. This place is huge! So many clothes. So many styles..really takes me back in time seeing the old styles for sale. They also carry furniture and numerous other items, too many to mention. The staff members are quite friendly and rrady to assist you. read more

Super small, meager offerings , mostly clothes, good prices. Not worth coming here if it is out of the way, if you're in the area why not.

There's nothing here, tiny as heck and dirty. Wouldn't recommend wasting your time looking here.

It's time to close this store down. Rude employees, no merchandise, dirty store, irregular hours, closed on days their supposed to be open, higher than normal prices on free stuff donated by the community. Take your business somewhere else. read more

My experience at Goodwill is donating items. I'm happy with the experiences I've had. There hours of accepting are very generous and this one guy- I don't know his name but a lil older than most with grey-ish hair (myself included) does a great job of keeping everyone and everything moving. It's nice to think your items might go somewhere else rather than a landfill- at least for now. read more

I don't know what's up with the Goodwill. I see videos of people shopping at Goodwill all over the country and the stores are clean and there's lots of great stuff. The Goodwill's in the Bay Area suck. I've been to many of them. They're dirty they overpriced things and I don't know what they're doing with the good items People are donating because they're not making it to the store. read more

The Goodwill location on Imola in Napa, California has some of the rudest people I have ever encountered. I just moved back to Napa recently and have taken several miscellaneous donations to that site since I moved back. Just yesterday I took some things and the gentleman who helped get the things from my car was very nice and helpful and said we're here to help you any time. However, today... Sunday... I took another several items to donate and was met with some of the most obnoxious people I have yet encountered here. They refused to help me get the items from my car and said that the law would not allow that. They refused to bring a cart to my car so that I could unload the things. I just had full knee replacement surgery and my back is out and I am an older lady, so definitely needed some assistance. I will certainly donate my items somewhere else in the future. read more

-no fitting rooms -rude staff -overcharged for cotton shirts, staff Jeff can't seem to tell what's cotton and what's not and got frustrated when I pointed out I'm being overcharged argued with me and still overcharged me. Agreed to refund $1 for the pants he overcharged me on but two tops were overcharged. -no signage explaining price and manager just says "it's because people keep stealing" For comparison this week I also visited goodwill in Santa Rosa & Salvation Army in Santa Rosa. Did not have this issue at either location. In addition to having sales the Salvation Army clearly lists prices and doesn't overcharge. They also have a fitting room. It's stupid to say no refunds but you can't try clothes on. I regularly donate to this goodwill location and instead will be taking my items elsewhere. read more

Good finds that are surprisingly cheap, at least in comparison to other Goodwills I've been to. I stopped on in to peruse (people are apparently donating a ton of good stuff as a result of Marie Kondo's "Tidying Up"), and stumbled upon $7 pair of nice dress shoes, which I swooped up. Even better, there was an autoharp there for $40! I had an internal dilemma: do I get it, despite the fact that I don't need it and have several other instruments at home? Or do I seize the great deal? I ended up not grabbing it, which I low key regret. Shoes were a steal, though. Only complaints is that this Goodwill is definitely on the smaller side. While I found a lot of good stuff, especially for the size of the store, there wasn't a TON of variety. I wish it was bigger, but what can you do? Either way, I'll be back and thrifting soon. read more

I've never had a problem here and think it's a okay Goodwill. I don't like the parking here because it's usually full in the Shopping Center and not very big compared to other Goodwill's. Some of the items are high priced here and some are decent. I've have only found a couple of things here and don't usually visit, Oh and sometimes on Sundays if you check the Yelp time of operation hours, it's incorrect and the store is sometimes closed which is weird. The one score I did find there was a Brand New with tags Dooney and Bourke bag and for only $25. read more

It was a little messier than our local Goodwill and the dressing rooms were not available to try on clothes. Looked like they were being used as storage. But I just tried on a shirt over my own. Oh well. It was unorganized and the staff were not very friendly. I waited at least 7 minutes before someone helped me at the register as well. What a shame. Pricing... Goodwill gets items for free, but price items so high - guess the corporate office has to get their "bonuses" somehow. Understaffed... if one employee calls in sick - only option is to close for the day. I've lived in Napa since 2014 and this location always has "hiring" sign up. New hires figure out it's poorly handled company and don't bother to stick around. Donations... sign stating "no donations", yet stock room EMPTY. I have personally donated items at this location which were sent to warehouse for other stores to "order"... I've found my donated items at a different location. It just seems wrong, if donated in Napa-stuff should be sold in Napa. Merchandise... lack of merchandise, what items are available are broken/chipped dinner/glassware, open/empty boxes (items stolen), odds and ends nobody obviously wants-yet these things been on the sales floor forever, in general "crap". I've wondered if this location might be so bad to the point of possibly closing the location... I've asked several employees, nobody knows nothing. I've called the Redwood Empire Goodwill Industries corporate office and left a message, I'm awaiting a call back, but I doubt I'll get a call back. If I do, I will update review. read more

I shop thrift stores to look for very specific kitchen and decor items on a weekly basis. Out of all of the Goodwills in the area, this place is incredibly frustrating. They don't keep to their hours (I've checked the hours and then showed up and they are closed - like completely shut-down and no lights on) and their pricing, like all Goodwill stores, is incredibly inconsistent and out of whack with thrift reality. Hilarious when I find Dollar Tree items marked at $3.99 or when I find something I like but it's 3x the price any reasonable Goodwill shopper would ever pay for it. Definitely skip this location. read more

Tried to donate several bags of nice clothing. Drive around back to the drop off only to have some condescending employee hassle me about how I parked. No, it's not at all clear where you want me to park, asking me politely to park somewhere else would have been fine. Instead you cop an attitude so I will take my donations elsewhere. I find the people there helpful and take any items I no longer need. Respectful. Give you a receipt if you need it.

This is only for their drop off service for donation. The whole process was easy, you would just drive up to the back of the store, ask where your goods should be placed. Put it in the spot where they tell you and off you go. I have not been in the store so I cannot tell you what that experience is like. read more

Goodwills here is small, carries little furniture. mostly clothes, electronics, household items, jewelry, books, dvds, toys, etc. when one enters the store, the pungent goodwill smell greets you along with a line of women waiting to get into the clothes tryout room. (curious, it's situated at the front of the store.-no doubt to cut down on shrinkage) books, not much choice (hardcover 2.99, paperback 1.49) -passed on "valley of awakening'' , 2.99 A. This place is EXPENSIVE!! At least in my experience. I do not consider $7 for a used blouse, in whatever condition..a good deal. I can buy cheaper brand new blouses on Clearance at Walmart, Ross or Marshall's. Dresses are $10 and some of them are stained and or torn. Shoes are $10+up, Used purses avg. $15+.Kids clothes are $5 for used tops, more for dresses or pants. Sorry this is not buy idea of a bargain for used clothing. read more

I really like this Goodwill. The staff is friendly and courteous. I usually go on a Sunday and find extreme bargains. This particular Goodwill has a nice selection of name brand and designer items. It seems fairly organized and easy to shop. Parking is limited so you might need to walk a little bit. Bring your own shopping bag. Enjoy read more

Very unprofessional don't donate to them. We called ahead to check on times they would accept donations. When we arrived 10 minutes before the cut off the Goodwill employee didn't want to accept our donations because he'd have to carry the items inside. My husband said he'd be happy to carry them in and started doing so. This enraged the employee started ranting how we don't care how overworked he is. He proceeded to pick up a wooden box of flatware and smashed it on the ground also breaking a Corning Ware roasting pan. We called the store manager, Allison, and she made the excuse that they were understaffed, like that justified what he did. Then she said it was an accident, which it wasn't. I took the time to wash, wrap up and pack all these items when I could have just chucked them all in the dumpster. So much for supporting the Goodwill mission, so insulting. Never again Goodwill. read more
