I love thrift stores. I have been to some great Goodwills. But this isnt the greatest. I always feel like everything is really picked over and that whats leftover is overpriced. Like all thrift stores, you may sometimes stumble across something great, and with my large family I do usually end up finding something for someone. But the clothes are often faded, missing buttons, out of style or stained and they still want 5 bucks for it! Im talking a plain old shirt. Anyhow, go check it out, but make sure you have your ID if you plan to use your debit card and make sure you dont have a 100 bill because they wont take that either. This rating is for the staff present on the June day I donated an item. First I entered the store to inquire about donating an item. The woman in the store was extremely polite and helpful, directing me to the proper donation area. There, a very nice young man helped me unload my item and showed me to another equally nice person who gave me a donation form. My experience was very different than others posted here. This isn't for the inside of the store - infact, i don't think I've been inside the store in 10+ years. This is for the people who work in the back taking donations. Recently my mother has become very ill, and I have been cleaning out her house a little bit, to make room for a hospital bed. I have come in with several loads of donations, and I am always met with a smiling, happy face, and very courteous service. They take the time to help me get everything, and write out my recepit. Unprofessional! Don't offer any programs or any support to the community! Used to work there and witnessed mice inside of the store and the issue was overlooked! Ac and heater do not work again overlooked! Coworkers that have applied asked for grants overlooked! No assistance very poorly maintained! read more

Dimly lit and smells like cats. Near no selection unless your size is 4xl, prices are a bit steep for what they're selling. Courteous checkout and an ok dvd rack are the only saving graces here. read more

We wanted to try new goodwills out of the area and drove to Napa - what a mistake going to this store. Drove 40 min only to be told they close at 6 pm and not 8pm WTH! That's not what is said online!!!! The lady said, well we close earlier then the rest of the Goodwills, they must not have not updated the website WTH! What's up with that! Really!!! read more

Small Goodwill but wow did I find hidden treasures or what?! The lady working here Sunday afternoon was really nice and personable. She had great energy. I was a little iffy about coming here because of all the negative reviews, but this place is actually a lot cheaper and cleaner than a lot of the other north/east bay Goodwills I've been to. I got a nice pair of flats and a brand new novelty mug here for $7 total. The Vallejo Goodwill will charge you $8.99 for a gross pair of heels. I'd definitely come here more often if I lived closer by. read more

Came by since yelp and google say they close at 8, came by at almost 7 and they were closed. There's a sign on door saying since February they have temporary store hours and close at 6. I wish there was some way to have it updated on here and google so I don't drive out there to a closed place. read more

This place sucks. Drop off is a nightmare and the employees don't help make things easier. I was told last time to put my items in a very specific spot closer to where an employee was standing for no apparent reason. The whole place was a mess and it wouldn't make a difference if I just set it down. It's not a welcoming experience and it feels like everyone at the drop off area hates their lives and would prefer if no one dropped anything off. read more

This place is super small and not a whole lot of anything, very disapointing. Went in hoping to find stemwear, and found nothing. Dishes and misc items are scattered, not anything like I expected it to be, will not be back. Now, don't get me wrong, I feel that the organization of Goodwill is great along with the fact that it is recycling used items, however this store could really use some vision on how to be more appealing to the consumer. Note: The Goodwill stores in Vacaville on E. Monte Vista and Browns Valley Pkwy are fabulous in comparison. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. Tried to make a donation they took the clothes and when I pulled out a lamp they still sell at Walmart so it's not old and crappy, the lady said yes then suddenly said she was just informed she can't take it, even though no one but me was there. When I said you just said you would take it she proceeded to argue with me and call me names. I said there was no need for that and I would take it somewhere that appreciates my donations. This isn't the first time someone has been rude while donating but when she resorted to name calling and such I decided a yelp review was needed. read more

Most unprofessional, long interview I've ever had. Never even got to meet the manger, but it's obvious they are very lazy and do not care about their job. Applied for a position as sales clerk, was called back the next day to come in for an interview the day after that. Place was obviously understaffed and my interview was constantly paused because i had to have my interview at the cash register and with a cashier as the manager wasn't there. Half way through I was handed off to someone else who had the same deal of pausing the interview many times to help out. What was supposed to be a short 20 minute interview was strung out over an hour having to constantly pause for people checking out. After all of that I was told I would most likely have the position and was PROMISED I would have a callback the next day. Got no call so I called two days after to hear that the manger was on vacation (while they are understaffed) and wont be back until the next week. They still assured me I was get a callback. I called up on five different days the next week trying to get an actual answer, but got nothing. I gave up calling every day and waited for another week before I called back. When I called I was told all positions were filled and they were not looking/accepting anyone else. The employee on the phone also said the manager was too busy for phone calls. I currently work for the Target corporation which doesn't really treat all their employees well, but at least they still act much more professional (especially during the interview process). Also the online application process is awful and has you jumping through 2-3 different sites and many unnecessary hoops. Though very poorly organized as previous reviewers have said, this Goodwill does have a great selection of glassware and (obviously) wine-related paraphernalia given it's Napa location. Ample parking but only 1 dressing room; a very odd circumstance given that half of the door is filled with clothing! Store was a bit messy when I visited, but it was also apparently a very busy day, so such is to be expected. Still, as the case with many Goodwills, the items did seem a bit overpriced (for example: $5 for the cover of a medium-sized Franklin Covey appointment book that was marked and stickered inside...$7 for a pair of boots...etc). I come here every so often before I have to pick up my hubby from work and I usually find something here worth buying. The prices are kind of expensive, but sometimes I find that prices are set by the locations they're in. Last time I was there the sales guy offered to put a $125 price tag on the clutch I purchased. It was a nice gesture to make me feel like I got a bargain and a mean joke to play on my husband. The store is small and old looking. The parking is a pain because it's awkward from the imola and jefferson entrances...because the spots are angled instead of straight. read more

I always find good stuff here, whether it's original art or a Vera Wang top, or a leather jacket. Stays open late, too! Parking is easy.

Moving out of the country and tried to donate winter coats, books and a wedding dress. 12:30 pm and they are full and refused anymore donations. I told him I didn't have time to take anywhere else and it was going to end up in a dumpster and he couldn't care less. So disappointed. I also tried a donation pick up center and no one will pick up at an apartment. Napa needs to get it's shit together so people can help other people. read more

GoodWill is anything but! Attempted to donate an almost new beautiful couch only to be berated by the manager for showing up at 5:00 pm. "We are closed for donations." When I suggested their website indicated they were open until 8:00 I was treated like I couldn't read..."it said call ahead for furniture." If the website does say that, I couldn't find it, I humbly apologize. Simple analysis, find a company such as St. Vincent De Paul that respects and appreciates your generosity. read more

Prices are to high!! I needed a crockpot and I figured I would check out Goodwill first. I found an old beat up looking one for $14.99. I went over to Kohls and purchased a brand new one for $15.99. The whole point of going to Goodwill is to find second hand stuff for a bargain price. Most of the stuff is old and used and a little beat up, so it should be really cheap. When I can go to a department store and pay $1 more and get something brand new, then you know its time to change whoever is pricing things out. And theres been plenty of other items there which I have seen at department stores for nearly the same price. I'd rather spend a little more money on brand new stuff read more

We regularly shop at this Goodwill as it is on the way to work for us in the evenings. On Wednesday evening we found two left shoes (men's leather boots). They were my husband's size and we were prepared to buy both pairs if the two right foot shoes could be located. I spoke with a clerk on the floor (not working the register) who wasn't willing to look in the back to see if she could find the mates. I asked if she located them would she hold them for us. She assured me she would. I called twice the following morning to inquire if the boots had been located or placed on the floor. The clerk refused to check on the floor or inquire even though I was able to identify the woman I had worked with the previous evening. The clerk did state that no boots had been brought to the front on hold for us. We returned Friday evening and I located the original woman from the back. She said the shoes had been placed on the floor and sold earlier that day, she said it was the managers' decision. I realize this is a charity store, but other than camping out at the front door and hanging out for the next 2 days, there was no way we would have been accommodated. I know this is a "charity" and I'm sure no one working/managing this store gives a rat's @#$ but we are not going back...ever. read more

I have purchased plenty of items here in the past and give it 3 stars for the selection and check out. However I'd give it a 0 if I could for the drop off. This store is where I donate most of my items. I don't take in junk. In the past, I have always found helpful people who are courteous however the past two times I have gone to donate there is a surly young woman working the back. Last time she refused to take my Halloween costume items because they were seasonal. This was probably the first week of October. I was perplexed because I have purchased Halloween items at this store in the past. Today about 1pm I went to drop off one small bag of clothes and books and one chair. She said she was full and could not take any more items until after 3pm. No apology. No nothing but bad attitude. When I complained to her about her attitude and the fact that I would start making my donations somewhere else she gave me attitude back. I'm not sure why she is working in a customer service role but she shouldn't be. read more
