I have been coming to these bins for close to 12 years now. I'm a mom of 3 boys, a teacher and a reseller- so this used to be a regular place for me. life has gotten busier so I don't go as much but still love finding some treasures when I have time to stop. I absolutely love seeing the young teens and college kids in now and seeing that they appreciate a sustainable wardrobe. Whether they are buying for themselves or reselling, it is so cool to see it so busy and popular now. As a teacher finding toys and books has been a lifeline for me there. My 3 star rating is because they are back to allowing children. As a preschool teacher my eyes and ears are always alert to children crying or lost- and it is almost every time I go that I see something that makes me cringe. The last being a child about three years old trying to hush its crying infant sister while the mom was across the store shopping. Parents set up whole play areas on the floor while they spend hours shopping. I truly wish they either changed it to no kids or your kid has to be on you or with you the entire time. There is so much potential danger that it makes it not so fun to shop and watch happen. You can't leave a child on the floor against the wall in any store so I'm not sure how parents think it's OK to do at the bins. To end on a happy note, so happy to see that books are just $.25. The less in the landfill and on bookshelves the better. read more

Ok, my first time at "The Bins" as my daughters call it and it was an eye opener, I was unprepared. - a large warehouse with dozens of large bins, multiple rows of clothes, the other misc stuff. - there is no organization of stuff, its all just thrown into the bin for you to look thru. - approx every 30 minutes the bins are switched out for different bins with different stuff. Be prepared, it's a free for all once they are changed! - the clothes are not priced by item, they are weighed and you pay by the pound. (Example: my daughter got 4 t-shirts, a sweatshirt and a pair of pants for $8) - if you love to thrift and enjoy (and have the patience) going thru things one at time, you'll like this place. - GPS will take you to the back of the store, entrance is on Platte River, you have to circle around. - I highly suggest wearing disposable gloves! read more

There are some good things to find, but beware of sharp objects (broken glass, needles, knives, etc.), lots of dirt (maybe germs), some unhappy staff (no smiles...can you blame them?), few to no carts and they must remain on the outer walls (no pushing them around with you). The price per pound is good for all items up to 10 lbs. If you find something over 10 lbs, it's a flat rate starting at $8 and goes up. read more

All of the Goodwill outlets are pretty much the same. Rude, inconsiderate, hostile groups of flea market re-sellers. They usually hunt the bins in packs to either prevent outsiders from shopping, or take things out just to toss them back when bin exchange time is announced to prevent "rivals" and such from getting them. They have no respect or courtesy to anyone else and I have encountered people rifling the bin next to me throwing the stuff they go through at the area I am looking at. They will also swoop in and claim jump you should you find something. While I do applaud the staff, there is no consistent enforcement of what little rules they have. BEWARE!! read more

As a person that grew up in the country next to a farm this reminded me of when the farmer would feed the animals. Putting the feed in long troughs and then calling out at the animals would come running. When I came here, customers would line up and wait as an employee would fill up a long bin and then call out and the customers would come running. Just a funny coincidence. The items for sale here are gathered from retail stores all over the city that have not sold and brought here for one last chance. The only retail store I have ever walked into where the staff presumes they can treat you like trash. I am a paying customer and deserve far better customer service and geniality, I'm in shock. I don't care WHO your clientele is or what they are wearing or buying, YOU employees need to get back in the right lane. POST the rules, don't scream them every 5 minutes. This is a store, not a day care. If you have customers take advantage of your timeframes, figure out a reasonable way to resolve the problems. Every other store in America has managed to do it. Great place to get your shopping on large bins lined up while shoppers wait behind the line !! Some one shouts shop and the looting begins , all looking for treasures buried in the bins. One can hours or turn around and walk out. We shopped for about 2 hours with a cart full of treasures, at the register you roll your cart up and you pay by the pound !!! read more

Educate yourself on the rules and general etiquette of how to shop "the bins". Don't be "that guy" that gets pulled out of rotation because you are not following the rules. Bins are rotated approximately every 30 min. Grab your cart out in the parking lot in your way in, there's never any in the store. Leave your cart against the wall. You are never permitted to have a cart in the aisle at this location. Overall, this location has decent stuff and runs a tight ship which I appreciate. Leave the kids at home, they are not allowed near the bins. Of course there's always someone that doesn't control their kiddos and it creates an unsafe environment. Bring gloves and be careful digging in the bins. Broken glass is common. read more

Ok. I admit, I was unprepared for this experience. You have to have some mental and physical preparation to shop here. I frequent Goodwill outlets a lot, but this was a while new level. There are indeed unwritten rules, which I was unaware of as a first time shopper. - Things are sold by weight. I paid like $4 for a pair of Columbia pants and a few kids toys. Better than Goodwill retail prices but also you have to work harder for it. (Things are loosely organized by bin but it's not particularly easy to find, say, a specific size of children's clothing without digging through a whole bin of kid's clothing that is also mixed with women's clothing.) When you check out, you put your things in the grocery cart by the cashier and then put the cart on the scale. - You have to wear gloves. (Probably because there might be broken glass and items in the bins) An employee said there should be some at the front of the store but I didn't see any, although I didn't look that hard because I was ready to leave by then. I'll probably bring my own gloves next time. - They bring out new bins on some sort of cadence and when they do, you have to stay behind the orange tape until they're done. I did not know this and was casually browsing around in a newly rolled out bin until I was reprimanded. Oh, social distancing is not a thing when the bins are brought out and folks are allowed to peruse. Everyone descends like vultures. It's a little frightening, honestly. But if you can get in there, you may be able to walk away with a treasure or two. - The new bins are why people sit around with their shopping carts waiting. It's weird to walk in and see a bunch of people lined up with grocery carts against the wall. - Bring your own shopping bag. I am sure this place gets crazy on the weekends so I will probably return at some point, fully prepared for the experience, but I'll do so with a friend and on a random weekday. read more

Sheer and utter chaos. Proceed with caution. It's actually fairly unsafe to go without gloves due to glass in the bins, and depending on what day and time you go, the people there can be kind of unhinged, but if you're in the mood for a hunt you can find interesting things cheap. read more

This isn't your typical Goodwill store. Items are tossed into large plastic bins and you can sort through it all to find whatever you want. Media items are priced at 49 cents each, and all other items are by the pound. There is a flat-rate price for heavy items and furniture, which varies. The tricky part is, as others have said, knowing the unwritten rules. When bins with new merchandise come out you have to wait until given the 'all clear signal' before shopping. If you try to grab something you will get yelled at - very loudly. If you see a cart full of merchandise unattended, don't touch it. It's someone else's treasures and they are probably nearby. Sometimes it gets a bit wild when new merchandise comes out. For about 10-15 minutes everyone is grabbing stuff and tossing it into their carts. Don't be afraid to jump into the melee, but be careful too. I also recommend wearing gloves. There is sometimes broken glass, dirty items, and even unidentified 'goo' in the bins. You will need to sort through lots of junk and broken stuff, but treasures can be found if you are diligent. read more

Okay I know that goodwill bins are something you need to prepare for but I was NOT prepared for how crowded it was. The store itself isn't that big which would be nice but there was probably 50+ people in there. Also the card machine appeared to be down today so be mindful of that. Maybe I came at a bad time (4:40 on a Wednesday) but the amount of people was definitely overwhelming. Just be prepared for no personal space. read more

Never been to a Goodwill Outlet, just gonna go to a normal one after this visit. It was a madhouse, people are throwing and breaking things as they go through it. Basically walked into a frenzy, tried to find out where specific things were and then got yelled at by the staff for being in the way (literally no signs anywhere). Over 6 months ago I had an altercation with an aggressive shopper. I was told by Larry Shay (corporate executive) that I would be permitted to shop after 3 mos. I've gone in a couple of times and shopped at this location. But when one particular lady is working she still doesn't allow me to shop. I complained about her rude behavior and she's always discriminated against me since. There is no customer service and they treat you at their discretion. They could care less about satisfaction because everything they sell is donated at no cost to them. Social distancing doesn't exist because when they bring the bins out people are on top of each other. Most the stuff is junk or broken! Often broken glass can be exposed to severly cut someone. I was suppose to hear back from the manager who oversees the 3 outlets and she obviously is too busy. I shop more at the ARC now while I wait for them to allow me to shop. The person I had a conflict with was never penalized for his involvement because he's Hispanic and that's who GW seems to favor. They need to be regulated and required to meet CDC guidelines. If someone contracts covid? They should be fined and shut down! read more

Today I experienced the new manager and man they are good. I have been coming for 7 months but today Christina and Chris did rotations so quick I could barely keep up LOL. I loved it. It was cleaner, more cashiers, good customer service and no one was yelling at us customers. I will definitely start coming more. read more

This is my first experience with the bins. People waiting outside know each other by name, which is pretty funny. I found a nice GAP coat for my son and Abercrombie & Fitch pajamas. I will hit up the bins again. I would definitely recommend wearing gloves. read more

2nd time coming here and I find so many amazing things! I don't wear gloves but I do see why people wear them... I sanitize and wash a lot during my time there. However beware that the bathrooms are never clean!!!!! And get there super early for a cart!! read more

I always find some good things here. But some of the staff are extremely rude. Especially the thin older woman with blonde/gray hair. She literally SCREAMED at my friend and I. My friend simply asked her a question and she replied, "well, you should know, you know everything ".... we had a very nice checkout person, but as we were leaving the SCREAMER came up and yelled at us saying she needed our badges. We tried to explain that we'd already given them to a different employee and she was still very nasty to us. These people need some customer service training. Your customers won't come back if you scream at them! read more

Although I have found great things here, it's almost not worth it due to the aggressive regulars who make no space for newcomers. Sometimes even if you are standing by yourself, a man will stand over your shoulder to try to intimidate you. If you stand up to someone who's literally throwing glass in your direction, which is not allowed by the way, all of the regulars will gang up on you and bully you. This is more likely to happen on the weekend so if your schedule permits, try to come during the weekdays when there are less people but still aggressive ones. Props to the staff who try to tell the rules to people but cannot be heard over the loud and large space or are simply ignored. A small megaphone would suffice but I don't think that the administrative offices will allow that. I feel bad for the staff because it's a really hard place to work it seems. Also, they keep saying that little kids aren't allowed to reach into the bins due to a lot of broken glass and sharp objects like real knives but I don't see that being enforced. It's a dangerous place for children so please don't bring them. read more

I've shopped at all four of the Denver Goodwill Outlet locations for about five years without incident. However, There's a cashier at the Englewood location who has serious competency issues. She's so slow that the line is a dozen deep at the busiest time of the day AND she has overcharged me TWICE this week. The prices are posted on a large board near the register, but this cashier charges in a subjective manner. If SHE believes an item is heavy, she'll charge a higher price. If SHE believes an item is "wares" ($1.49) rather than a bowl (.69), she charges a higher price. Completely arbitrary so you can't anticipate the cost of an item. Every other cashier is consistent but this one. On Saturday the manager refunded part of my payment because she overcharged. Today, another manager cancelled her entry and recalculated my purchase at a lower (and accurate) price. Today I said "I'm sorry, but I've never had this problem with another cashier". Her response IN FRONT OF THE MANAGER? "Oh right! You do this all the time; you have an attitude problem". What? So you're an inefficient, inconsistent, and insulting employee? The diminutive, short haired, older woman at the Englewood location should be let go Goodwill or she'll end up costing you customers and profit. read more

The staff for the most part is great and helpful. One of the managers is kinda intense and can be verbally offensive to customers. I agree it is important to let everyone know the ground rules but this particular manager will purposefully signal out individuals with what I think is over the top public shaming and I think in particular women, he tends to let the men off with "warnings". The other managers are great and able to keep order and enforce the rules without becoming verbally abusive. read more

It all depends on what type of person you are... if you ready to get down and dirty than this place is fun! Its a little freaky at first but once you see how things work your diving right in.... I went my first time yesterday and go 5 or 6items that were brand new! I don't believe it all is stuff goodwill didn't sell because there is so really nice stuff there! I do suggest bringing gloves though there's lots of glass and pokey objects so beware! If you want to nice stuff you usually don't have to dig. If your too scared to search while everyone is going at it,Just wait until their done. Most people are just looking for scrap metal or clothing to resale, so a lot of good items are still left! OMG.. This place is massive.. And if your not ready for it, can be a bit overwhelming.. Put your manners aside, cause it's every person for themselves.. And as they roll the fresh heaping bins with piles of raw clothes, shoes, etc. don't dare shop until they scream, SHOP!!! At that point.. You better grab quick, it's amazing what you can find. I am a Goodwill evangelist for thrifting - I visit them in nearly every city I go to and have found SO much good stuff at them. That being said, I had no idea what a "goodwill outlet" was until i got to this so let me break it down for anyone else who's never been: basically, they bring out large bins of stuff that folks just dig thru - its a mixture of clothes, bedding, homegoods and all sorts of other stuff. I don't know what the procedure is on determining what goes to an outlet vs what goes to a store, but you just basically pick thru the piles (bring a bag or grab a cart!) and at the end of it all, they weigh your stuff and you pay by pound. There were people there w carts FULL of stuff (maybe vintage shop vendors?) and then there were folks like me who were just kind of of there out of curiousity. I got a bunch of cool clothes and even found a cool vintage red makeup case in the mix and walked out paying around $5. They roll out bins periodically and eveyone has to stand back until the staff in the store tells them they are allowed to start going thru it and then its kind of a melee but if you aren't specifically looking for something (which I usually am not when I'm thrifting), then its kind of fun to wander. The place was clean (as clean as it can be when you have folks tearing thru piles of stuff), well lit and the staff was knowledgeable. The building is in an industrial area, and parking can be tight but if you go in w a sense of adventure its kind of fun! read more

I get that this place is a madhouse. That's fine and seems to work fine. However it's also supposed to be a warehouse. Warehouses have radios or intercoms to communicate. I've waited an hour for the only person that knows where my products are, in said warehouse, to get off lunch. All my friends and family work at goodwill (no exaggeration) and have never gotten an hour for lunch much less been the only one who knows where to find something. Nor have they been uncontactable during that time. Let's get this place together folks. read more

This Goodwill Outlet is merely okay. I have been to several of these "outlets" in various states and Denver's versions of these outlets are not anywhere near the best. At this particular establishment there are many unspoken rules. If you go, be prepared to be yelled at by staff. I have been coming here for a few months. Each time a new row of bins comes out I am yelled at by staff to "get out of the middle" all while I am standing along side other customers who appear to be regulars. These other individuals are not told to leave or move but for some reason I have been. I have seen this same situation occur involving other people that are not the regulars which appear camp out here all day long. You can find some interesting things here but I am wary about the clothing section due to bed bugs and sanitary issues. For some reason they will not allow you to purchase computers here even though they are for sale in the bins. Maybe this is another special treatment rule designed to benefit the regulars? Parking can be a pain, especially on weekends when the lot is completely full and all shopping carts are spoken for. Some of the staff here are extremely friendly and I have had some great random conversations with a few of them. This is the sole reason I have given this place two stars instead of only one. Many of the regular customers here blockade bins and will scratch and push you when trying to get at something in one of the bins. Often, I have witnessed cool merchandise within the bins being destroyed as people unmercifully throw items around while churning through bins. I believe if the bins were sorted better to remove out fragile items before going to the floor this would resolve much of this needless waste. Overall, sadly, this is the best Goodwill Outlet that Denver has to offer. read more
