Highly recommended! Upon entering the store Cheryl warmly welcomed us and other shoppers as well entering the store. She was proudly promoting Goodwill and so passionatly letting customers know what was on sale. As it turned out I had previously worked with a her as her supervisor (District trainer/ Director of Retail) years ago. Cheryl has been a long time in customer service / retail mgmt member as far as I can remember around 1998. I read at one of my fellow Yelper's review that for every $1 spent at Goodwill, $0.89 goes to a program. That's great, but it's not a good excuse to price these donated items higher than what they're really worth. Everything I was interested in was priced so ridiculously. I even found an item - a USED item, might I mention - priced higher than its original price from 2017. (See attached picture.) I also found brand new dog toys and other pet items more expensive than its original price. (I Googled them to compare.) I found a dress shirt I really liked for $9.99 but found a similar - not to mention BRAND NEW ONE- at Shein 30% cheaper. Blackout curtains you can score on Amazon for less than $20 is $24.99 for a used one here. Yes. Seriously. This must be the ongoing trend for thrift stores because this is not an isolated case. It has gone the same not only for Goodwill but for Savers and The Salvation Army stores. Someone should really look into their pricing point because they will eventually find themselves in a bind trying to figure out how to dispose these donated items. I'll give them this, though. The overall store was very clean and well-organized. They even separated clothing by sizes. I appreciate how much work that must have taken. But I left empty handed. If I haven't made it clear enough yet, their approach to pricing used/donated items has gotten way too absurd. In the end, it'll be those programs they're funding who will end up on the losing end. It's almost laughable and disappointing at the same time. Here's hoping they change this. And here's hoping it's soon. One and done. For now. read more

A little bit more organized in the clothing department and others Goodwill that I have been to. The staff has been very friendly and kind, especially when you're donating in the back. I see that they're working hard. Not very happy with how the houseware department is everything is scrambled and hats mixed with glassware and toys mixed with books. I don't see a short of stuff I think that they can do better with making it be a little bit more presentable. I've stopped shopping here because the prices have gone outrageous. I've donated tremendously and when I need something, I just can't buy it because I know it's over priced. Dollar tree items that are marked up two dollars more. so unnecessary when so much money is already being generated with the Goodwill stores. Let's get the items sold and stop overcharging people that need the items at a reduce price. There's no need to go up high on clothing when most of this will end up in the trash anyway it's coming in more than it's going out so let's go back to a better way of pricing items. This is for the community it's supposed to be a place where once can shop when they need something for their family. Things are high everywhere. A book should not be 6.99 sell it for sell or eventually it will land in the land filled. This message is for the department in-charged of pricing, let's not be greedy. Fix the issue at hand or we will stop shopping here and we are definitely not going to be donating here. There's plenty of other places we can donate that are not greedy. read more

I just left the store and honestly I am extremely disappointed. I've been coming here for over 2-3 years. Every time I come over I get greeted by this nice gentleman or at least the lady that is always very kind. I can't remember her name, but I do know that we always share comments about our jewelry. This however, today I did meet someone very unpleasant, not caring, rude and disrespectful. I believe she's the manager for this location. I did get a name down for her. Her name is versa. I do believe that she needs leadership training. She's horrible at communicating and to top it off she happens to be the one in charge of this location. Horrible. Horrible horrible. This is what runs out of your customers out of these stores. Customer service is key and if this person doesn't have that then she needs to get out of there. One thing is directing your employees that the Halloween costumes are not ready to be sold and two is to sound demanding as if the cashier made a mistake by trying to sell me a costume. According to her, the costumes are now ready to be sold till the 23rd of September. Ridiculous right? If I'm ready with the money then they should be able to help me but that was not her concern. She care less and when I asked her for management information she claim I am the manager. When I said I need to speak someone above you, she hesitantly walked away and came back with corporates phone number. Some Please explain to me how you have people like her running your show. Had items to donate and was greeted by the gentleman in the back. He was incredibly nice and welcoming. We talked for a little while and they're currently raising donations for the local nurses. I ended up donating to that as well, but as I was walked inside I met a few other employees and everyone here is just so welcoming. Needed to donate some used video games, and we like giving it to Goodwill. We drove to the back where the open garage has large blue bins where you can drop off your stuff. There was nobody manning the location however, so people just put their stuff in an open bin and left. Not sure what you would do if you wanted/needed a receipt for tax purposes. read more

I've been here several times. Prices here a bit higher than other stores. I only purchased a sweater. I did like a bag but they had it priced at $15 so I passed. Also, there's an employee that kept yelling from one room to another. There was an announcement that they needed a rack to place more items. So she yelled instead of delivering the rack. And yelled "the rack is coming" . She thought it was funny I guess because she was laughing but I found it rude and disrespectful! Not a store I'd come back to anymore. read more

THE BEST GOODWILL EVER!!!! I've gone to multiple goodwills and in wealthy locations and usually leave left disappointed or with little to no clothes. BUT that never happens at this goodwill :))) I grew up coming to this goodwill as long as I can remember with family and it makes me happy I can go here and reminisce on good ol' memories while finding amazing clothes. The customer service is peek as well. If they notice you have clothes in your hand they will hunt down the next empty cart for you and bring it to you without even asking. The clothes is sorted by color which makes it easier to find what you're looking for. I can tell they don't just put up any clothes, it feels like they hand select what clothes is worthy of going up on the rack. They also have a variety of sizes and name brands. They pick up the clothes on the floor constantly so it's never messy or dirty in the store. I enjoy the clothes they put on the mannequin as well, they have a sense of fashion. I also noticed the managers respect their employees and talk to them in a respectful manner when giving them tasks to do. Sheral was also very helpful at checkout, she put my clothes away neatly and didn't ball it up. I even got to meet the manager Flow who was so sweet and inviting. Her energy really lightens up the store. She said hello to everyone who walked through the door with a big smile. Only negative but this is about ALL goodwills is that nothing should be over $8 especially when the store runs off of FREE supplies aka donations. At this store I didn't notice any unfair pricing for items that weren't clothes. Edit: The VP of Sale for Goodwills messaged me to inform me of good news. I have lived near this thrift store for years, but recently picked back up my thrifting hobby and decided to stop here. It's smaller than other Goodwill stores I've gone to. Selection is very limited, but I did find a few nice vintage tees to add to my collection. There were staff members talking very loudly from the "Employees Only" section about things that I just chose not to entertain, but it was very loud and echoed throughout the store. The store is nicely organized. I love a thrift store that still organizes clothing by color. As I said already, it's a small location so there isn't A LOT to look through, but I was content with what I saw. There were even nice new board games available still wrapped in plastic. I got done looking and was ready to go and stood there for a about a minute and some change before I was acknowledged. She wasn't very friendly and barely looked up while ringing me up. The prices were great though. I got 5 nice vintage tees (with awesome resell value but I will be keeping them) for $15. I was in an out which despite waiting a little at the register and that is a plus to me. read more

Employees have an attitude problem. I think it's really unfortunate to donate items here just to be presented with rude employees. Goodwill is supposed to be helping the less fortunate people. Their pricing has gone out of control. This plastic plate was from the 99 Cent store. 99 cent store sold it for $1.99. Goodwill is trying to sell it for $2.99. So much of the stuff is overpriced. You can get it new for the same price. Also The manager named Florence is very rude to customers. One time I went in around 7:30 and she said "You know we close at 8 right" in a very sarcastic way. I go in this store often and she is always like this. read more

My women's group favorite place to shop. We love shopping at the Carson store. In fact, it's the only store we love to visit. We have planned our next visit only to find out that Mr. Powers is no longer the store manager. He is very courteous and always puts a smile on all the women faces. Why change what's not broken. I have been talking so much to these ladies to get them to shop Carson. Unfortunately, it's a no shopping trip to Carson without Mr Powers. I'm not sure if these reviews actually get read, but wherever Mr. Powers is located he needs to return to the Carson store. read more

Second cashier old lady at 12:40pm on Saturday 10/12 had attitude with the way she speaks. Blue tags are 50% off and my item was $4.99 blue tag so would've been $2.49 but she charged me $3.99 so I asked her shouldn't it be $2.49 since it's blue tagged and she said taxes but they don't tax. I'm hesitant and she says " you don't have to buy it if you don't want it " why speak like that to a customer? I say it's fine and I pay. I wasn't in the mood to argue.She then says look I'll show you and goes oh it's scanned as a yellow tag instead of blue and I'm like ??? and she's like but it still gave you a discount $3.99 and I said okay. I don't like the way she was speaking especially if I'm being nice just asking for clarification. This has served as my donation center for the past several years. I'm a minimalist, so anything that has no use gets donated. Hence, I donate often. This place is hassle free. I just drive to the back of the building, bring up my donations to the warehouse, and they issue me a receipt. And being an independent contractor, those tax write-offs are awesome. The staff has always been friendly. They are accurate in the receipts they give me, and kindly let me know what items they cannot accept. For whatever they cannot accept, I either toss it in their dumpster, or I take home and recycle. read more

Attitude attitude attitude in the donation center out back. I drop off 4 or 5 garbage bag sizes of clothing, leathers and shoes. They don't help you remove the bags from your car nor ask if you want a receipt. So from here on out, i throw everything away than to bag and sort and drop off. I don't need attitude from the employees when I'm in donation mode. I'm not asking for ass kissing, but i might appreciate some help and a "thanks" but it's too much for the employees to utter. Although I live in South Torrance I venture to Carson just to come into this store. Why, it's organized, they have a separate section for plus sizes, things are tagged and the staff is so helpful. Florence is the assistant manager and she is one sharp cookie. I recommend this store if you're looking for a great bargain. read more

This is definitely one of the cleanest Goodwills I have ever been to and with good reason. It's large and spacious allowing for air to flow through the store and thus preventing that oh not so pleasant "thrift store smell". Additionally you can tell that this Goodwill branch really cares about its merchandise as all the items were nicely categorized and sorted by color. However the selection didn't really appeal to me. While it was easy to browse the apparel the choices seemed to be geared towards an older crowd. In addition this Goodwill does not participate in the color tagged garments with the "color-of-the-day" discount incentive; everything is just a set price according to the rack it's on. I guess can be either good or bad depending on how you look at it. But regardless, this trip will most likely be my first and last trip :/ read more

Wow so I just left this goodwill 2:45pm 8/13/2019 and an older African American man that works in the back where you donate clothes,books, etc.. was so rude. He should not being working here if he's gonna be calling people stuff that they are donating "TRASH" I had many clothes and books and toys for children's that are in great condition and he was calling them trash, I still had many things to donate ended up leaving because he was so rude. If you do not like your job you really need to find a new one cause you are just making a bad name for this company. read more

My friend and I were on our way to the infamous PARTY CITY when she mentioned that she was recently at a thrift store on a quest for a Halloween costume. Me being the genius and the thrifty shopper I am mentioned 2 other thrift stores in Carson, Goodwill being one of them. The two of us ended up spending most of our night here, not only walking away with matching costumes but my friend pretty much completed 2 of her other costumes she wanted to wear this Halloween. For girls who attend multiple Halloween parties and do not want to redo a costume, thrift store shopping for costumes is the way to go. Most of them have a large selection and are not a complete rip off. My favorite part of this goodwill, they had Harry Potter books!! I like this place a lot, they always have a lot of clothes in circulation and I always find something especially in the Jeans department. American Eagle, Guess, Old Navy, Gap, Seven... they always have gems in between all those old 80's style jeans, you just gotta take your time to look. They seem to have a lot of returned stuff from the Target, so its a hit or miss, but i'm sure you can find something you like. Their selection is pretty big and they have some electronics and furniture also. Everything its in its place, and its not messy at all. All proceeds are for a good cause! read more

Bad prices mis-marked on product. Went to register with CDs and video games they were all marked 1.99 even the Videogames PlayStation 1 jewel cases. Cashier decided to flag it as videogame, but prices are on the jewel cases. Calls over for a price check mid transaction while on the phone taking a personal call during the whole transaction, totally inappropriate. Wish I can give this place zero stars. read more

If anyone's here to get the deal of the week, forget it. This Goodwill has set prices, that honestly are way over the top for a thrift store. No tag of the week. And if you thought you'd get 10% off with the yelp offer, also, don't think about it. They don't honor it at this location, apparently they didn't get the email (quoted from the manager Ophelia/Olivia). And items that are broken or chipped aren't going to be reduced any further, no matter their condition, everything is basically "as is". Yeah, this Goodwill is my (stationary) prescient salesman. I first wandered in here seeking miscellaneous kitchen junk, but walked out instead with a brand-new-in-sealed-box Belkin USB wireless adapter -- exactly what I needed for my computer at home, Linux-compatible and only $8 to boot! On my next visit, I found a cheesy vintage-'60s sweater and completed a weeklong Christmas card quest with a box of humorous cards. Like other Goodwills, this one gets Target leftovers. I bought a container of Method shaving lotion for a savings of $5 off Target's price. However, it smells like grass clippings and blup! blup! blup!s out of the bottle with the consistency of cottage cheese. Guess I'll stick to items without a shelf life. read more

Pretty cool store that's clean and organized. They have a large space and lots of clothing and miscellaneous items to look at. I found a nice glass bottle here which looks cool. I saw one on eBay for like $10 and I paid $2.99. There's some interesting stuff here so check it out. They also have a lot of parking available. read more
