CORPORATE GREED. Do not support this business. I have been a long time donator as well as a buyer from this company and it has turned into a money-hungry business. They had roller blades that didn't have a price tag. Took it up to the register along with another pair of roller blades in a box that was $9.99, looked more newer than the pair I wanted without a box. Clerk was willing to price-match. I wanted to be able to have a peace of mind to be able to bring this back if there was something wrong with it. Since she said it had no tag, she would have to take it to her supervisor in the back to re-tag it. Only returns for store credit had to have a price tag. When she returned from the back, they tagged the roller blades for $15.99. I was shocked to see they had upped the price on me for an additional $5. I asked what happened to the price-match and she said her supervisor does all the pricing. Are you kidding me? How greedy and pathetic. That was so petty to charge me additional and not honor their word. It was their fault for not tagging it, and now I was left to pay extra?? That was so wrong. I didn't have to buy it, but it was how shady that transaction just left me furious. They hire these young workers and all they do is smirk, give you weird looks, and whispering gossip into each other's ears. I can tell they were talking about me when they looked up, they stopped and walked off. Their name tags are also flipped in reverse and hidden so you can't see their names. They don't know what they're doing. She asked if I wanted a bag, I said yes. Then she points at a rack and told me to just grab any. I told her there's bags at the bottom of the register and she looked confused and told me she didn't think she was allowed to use those. So what bags are they selling then? The girl had NO clue. The nerve to ask for MORE donations at check-out. I no longer round-up to donate into these big corporations including retail and fast food chains. They make you feel like you're putting into something, however you're just giving these companies your money so they can recoup their losses and taxes. Mind you, these are all free donated by the public and everything they make is pure PROFIT. They sell broken and used items at retail, in fact WAY MORE than the retail value. Their lowest item, same items you can find at the dollar tree is by default $2.99 as they stated. I saw an item that didn't have a tag, I asked how much and without saying anything to me, walkie-talkies someone to make a tag for $2.99 for her. I go, "wait it's $2.99 for this?" The item is clearly from the dollar store and they told me it's $2.99, so I didn't buy it. I understand that this is their policy and that they are running a business. A company that was once an advocate to supporting local communities with providing jobs, has now turned into a greedy sucking business. Just horrible business practices and very unethical values. Sometimes you have to use common sense when pricing items. I had a notebook pad that did not have a price I go to the register and the lady said it's $2.99, I politely told her it's a dollar item which the brand I have seen at Dollar Tree. I told her that and she said Well, here it's $2.99 do you want it or not? I said you can keep it. Same with another item that was clearly marked from the store it came from at $4.99 and they marked it $7.99 again common sense plays a good part on how you mark your items. The rudeness when a customer challenges a price is not appreciated and we only question it because we know what it should cost. Stop being so greedy and marking these free items to you way to high. read more

The good: My husband and I have been on a thrift shop kick lately and decided to stop by here before heading to dinner across the lot. They had so many great finds at low prices! I found a kids table with 2 chairs for $11.99 (needed a new paint job). They had a super interesting jean covered couch. We ended up buying a $5.99 Little Tikes trampoline (normally $75) and a dollhouse for $10. We also got a Christmas wreath and a Santa candle. They had several wreaths and they were in great condition. They had plenty of Halloween and Christmas stuff still on display. They also sold a Vietnamese hat. The clothing section is organized well and not too overstuffed. We will definitely revisit this place. The bad: The candle was melty and deformed but I got it because I had the same one as a kid and it was nostalgic for me. I thought it was expensive for what it was though (I think $4). I regret not getting the table at the time! The interesting: This place isn't visible from outside the plaza. It's tucked away in the back. read more

What is happening in this location? I was in your torrance, ca location 25425 Crenshaw Boulevard yesterday 8/12/2024 at around 2pm. This location is not clean and tidy. Every area of the store needed organizing. Although there appeared to be a lead representative on shift, no one cared about the way things were randomly placed. They never even removed abandoned drink containers, broken pieces of merchandise etc. Why us it that some locations have end-caps that are curated and others do not? This is becoming the norm and no longer the exception for Goodwill. read more

As a 40+ year customer of Goodwill (GW), I can honestly say I know their business model pretty well. Since I am a regular, I know the employees and they know me. Turnover is very common at GW and I have heard MANY stories as to why people leave. Managers also change frequently either by quitting, getting fired or being transferred to another location. Thrifting is now very mainstream and the amount of people that frequent GW has grown tremendously! That's good in some ways however in the last five years, most stores look like war zones after a busy day of customers. The employees work REALLY hard to keep up with the overwhelming foot traffic and onslaught of donations but lately most of the stores are short-handed. Fortunately at this particular location, the two managers Chris and Jose, are the BEST OF THE BEST managers I have ever know. They work their TAILS off and are always so friendly and nice. I look forward to seeing them when I go there and they seem happy to see me. They are professional and their work ethic is top notch! Keep up the good work guys, you are both exceptional!! read more

This review is just for the drop off process. Make sure you pull around to the back of the building where the garage doors are open. There is plenty of parking and usually 1-2 other cars with other people dropping off items as well. Usually there are a bunch of bins where you can just drop off the items. I've done this twice now since we're cleaning things out. The first time there was an employee that asked if I needed a receipt - I didn't. The second time I just dropped off the bags of clothes and left. Really quick process! Please donate the things you don't need instead of just trashing them so that someone else can benefit from them! read more

My favorite Goodwill to shop at. Why? Always a friendly staff to greet and assist, a clean/well organized store, and a relaxing atmosphere to shop. Downside to shopping here? BEWARE: Watch out at this Goodwill. Things are way marked up as others have said (not matching the display signs), and they seem to be out for your profit. As they rung up a few items, I asked about a pair of slightly chipped plates, marked in blue as 2 for 3.99. The newby-like cash register guy was taken over by a more assertive lady (Nicole), who told me they'd be rung up for that 2/3.99 price. The pattern was cute, so I was willing to pay that, even if it was slightly chipped---MISTAKE #1. They were near closing, so I wanted to help put away my basket and cart while they rung up my items---BIG MISTAKE #2, as I later found out after I left that she charged me $2.99 for each chipped plate. Yes, it's just about $2 more, but the DISHONESTY bothers me, as an organization that's supposed to bring about "goodwill." I was purchasing a skirt and noticed as the man folded it that there was a slight stain. What does Nicole do? "Sorry, all sales are final." Just like that. Straight face, like she didn't just steal my money from the plates and give me some attitude. At the time, I wasn't sure why my amount came out to nearly $40 considering the clothes were 50% off (supposedly), but I still donated by rounding up the last 82 cents---MISTAKE #3 (because for all I know, that money went to their own pockets). Looking back, I can see the jacked up prices, this lying Nicole, and why others had warned the same on the reviews. Wish I read them earlier, but I mean, how different can a Goodwill be, especially in a more upscale area? MISTAKE #4---walking into this one in the first place. Young Lady working the back donation area on Tuesday April 12th at 1pm is quite possibly the rudest and most abrasive employee I've ever encountered at Goodwill or Salvation Army. When I asked her for a donation receipt she says, exasperated, "just put it in the bin". To which I ask her for a receipt and she then says "that's not going to happen"!! I go to Goodwill to make donations and to do some good with items I no longer need. I headed down to drop off a large donation. Being in a perpetual good mood and a people person, I say good morning to the staff and ask how they're doing as I walk up. You would think that since I am donating and being friendly, I would get a positive response. Well, you would be wrong. It's unbelievable how rude these people were. Nobody bothered even acknowledging my greeting. And, when I start to bring my donations out to give to them, I asked where they wanted me to put the donations, without even turning to speak to me face to face, they call over their shoulder they won't accept anything unless it's placed in their bin. Just rude! Although their behavior is unacceptable, I would pass it off as having a bad day if this were the only time I've encountered this at this store. Virtually every time I have donated something here, the staff have been very rude. I'm going to find another charity that appreciates their donors... read more

This Goodwill is decent size store with many pieces of large furniture. The store is organized and feels spacious. Furniture, glassware and clothing was easy to find. They even had a few bicycles on my visit. Prices were reasonable and the staff was friendly. read more

Can't speak on the store front side. But this review is really about the drop off process. We had about 6 full bags full of slightly used clothes all in great shape. The sign on the side of the building had an arrow pointing to the backside of the store noting "dropoff". We pulled up, two employees greeted us and simply said to drop our drop offs in the blue bins. So, set the bags into the blue bins and off we went. Extremely simple process and hope someone will be able to make good use of the clothes we cleaned out. read more

I came here at 4:50pm, their hours on yelp say they close at 5pm their donation center. I tried to donate Hudson, lucky brand jeans, guess shoes, and other items I no longer need. I couldn't believe the lady working the donation center today turn that down. I'll be going to another location because this lady couldn't be bothered she still had the door in the donation center open. I guess this is the exact same reason why I no longer donate to organizations like these big ones. read more

Went to donate some items and it was difficult to find! Entrance is towards the back on a side street but it is a big drop off area.

This Goodwill location has been open since Jan. 2010, almost a year. It's at the back of the plaza, between PCH & Airport Drive, by Kohl's. The inventory is almost all clothes, with a smattering of small furniture and cheesy knick-knacks. The clothing racks were so well-organized that for a split second I felt like I was in a department store. And there was no putrid stale-laundry smell in this newish space. Give it time, I guess. If you're smart you will leave all your crap at the Goodwill drop-off next to this store & not venture inside.....or you might go home with more crap than you just donated, which defeats the whole idea of clearing out your old crap. I got out of there quickly without buying anything.....this time. Then I headed back to Redondo along Newton St. through Walteria, a peaceful alternative to PCH. I randomly went to the GW after the gym in an attempt to find one fake flower for a project. The woman behind the register was saying the most off the wall things to me when I asked for assistance. There was a tall thin older man full on dancing in the middle of the store....like Mick Jagger and to top off the weirdness, the manager was so rude to me. The cashier asked her if I could purchase one flower, the manager ripped the flower from the girls hand and said no and that they're sold as a set and how dare I Pick apart the display. Yes you are getting clothes at a discount- cheaper than you would get at any department store - but it is also donated to them by gracious people for free & Goodwill then turns around and makes a profit on it. but they are a nonprofit business so they should NOT be making TOO MUCH PROFIT & that's the question- how much profit are they actually making For example today I went in and bought a pair of pants that had a little worn out fringe on the bottom and I asked if I could get a discount. She said "no that's a solid price absolutely not". I thought maybe a dollar or two would be fair to reduce it from $8 to 6 or something like that but NO. You would think that Goodwill has people there working because they have compassion for others, but I didn't sense it from this person at all. And that makes me a little upset and wonder HOW MUCH MONEY is Goodwill actually making? I wonder how much the CEO is making and what kind of mansion he or she may be living in. Are they making too much off of free donations to them ? The employees who work the donation area are just rude. They look down their noses at your donations as if you're asking them to personally take it. Its pretty insulting. My last drop off (today) a girl refused to take my bags until she could confirm with her manager that they wanted the items which were various household goods. I have always shopped here for Halloween an kids clothing and donated several items over the last 30 years. The 2 employees working today are rude and stated the restrooms are closed? I also saw unknown substance possibly vomit puddled on floor that nobody was rushing to clean up. My boyfriend and I have been coming to this Goodwill recently . We have found so many good finds . Unfortunately today we had a bad experience . The girl who's always at the cashier is always friendly but today she seemed like she was having a bad day . Which I don't blame her for . I'm just not okay with people mistreating others . In front of me and my boyfriend were these two hispanic ladies . They were asking for a bag because I figure they thought they had to pay for. The cashier replied rudely "Yeah they're free , that's why I asked if you wanted a bag" . It bothered me because I wouldn't want nobody talking to my mama in that way . Prior to that incident the "manager" was also taking furniture to a car . He asked us politely just once "excuse me" . But after her started repeating it non stop and demanding . He seemed annoyed to have me and my boyfriend there . Even though we were starting to be their daily's . I also wanted to try on my jeans and my boyfriend was reading the paper then the "manager" screamed across the store that they were closed . Out Halloweening and this store has caution tape around their Halloween display. I politely wait for an employee to come nearby before asking to see a pumpkin behind the caution tape. She tells me people have been ducking under the tape and shipping as they set up. Because I wait and ask to see a pumpkin, an old blow mold in wonderful condition that would fit perfectly in with my halloween display, I am told it is not for sale. I asked to speak to a manager and no manager came to speak with me. The same employee came back and said, "They don't want to give it to you." Well I didn't ask it to be given to me, I asked to purchase it. Completely ridiculous. If it's not for sale, don't put it on the sales floor and don't tell me other people have just been ducking under the tape and shopping. read more

This is one of the nicer Goodwill stores that I've been to. This location contains 90% clothes and a small area of the store for furniture and housewares. I have found cute brand new dresses from Target here, all for about $6 each! Definitely a good deal. I've been here a few times and haven't seen a lot of employees around. There are maybe like two or three on staff at a time, so finding someone to unlock a fitting room for you or ring up your items when you're done shopping is a little bit of a struggle. But I will definitely be back here - hopefully I'll score some more Target dresses! read more

I'm surprised there aren't more reviews for this place. It is amazing!!! Best Goodwill I've ever been to! It is clean and extremely well organized. It's not that big, and carries mostly clothes....so if you are looking to furnish your new apartment with some previously loved furniture, you're probably out of luck. I've found some pretty awesome stuff here, though. It seems as though that their clothes don't have as many rips and suspicious stains as most of the other thrift stores I've been around It is hard to see from the street. The address says Crenshaw since that's the location of the shopping center, but you're better off accessing it from behind via airport drive. It's kind of stuffed off in a corner back behind Kohl's, so it's easy to miss. Anyway, highly, highly recommended! Go! Enjoy! read more
