I was walking around the Fort Mason Center this morning and came upon this funky little coffee shop. My friend was not fond of Equator Coffee, so we stopped in here for a latte and a snack. Walking in we found what felt like a real artists hangout. Much of the art on the walls were for sale and had a variety of styles. The coffee bar offers a variety of drinks and foods. What caught my eye right away was one of their coffee drinks was called a Raktajino. This is something only Trekkies would understand as a Klingon drink. I knew I was in the right place. For a snack, I tried their cheesecake bar called Mr. Barry Cheesecake. It was a berry cheesecake with a layer of berries and a crust under the cheese itself. It was delightful except for the fact that it got caught up in the roof of your mouth a lot. I had a honey lavender latte, although the Raktajino sounded good too. Their honey lavender syrup is really good and not too sweet. My friend had their Orange Blossom latte and said it was a little stronger and sweeter than mine but still good. I highly recommend coming here if you're in Fort Mason or anywhere nearby. They had lots of options and a good sense of humor! read more

I.was here withy girlfriend a few weeks ago. We had traveled from Yuma for the two spirit celebration and the lines for fry bread were ridiculous! We started walking and ended up here. The two of us shared a bacon and potato burrito, which was very good. I was really intrigued by the Dirty Earl (which I guess would be a take on a dirty chai, one of my very favorite drinks) but didn't get one this time. The art is very cool and also most of not all of it is for sale! We enjoyed our tasty burrito while playing Scrabble on that dreary San Francisco Saturday. And it might have been one of my very favorite moments from the trip - my first to the (Steve Perry voice) city by the baaaaaay... (sorry!) Overall this was a fun find and a great place to get some refuge from the chilly weather. I'm looking forward to a second trip. :) read more

Goody Cafe is such a great little spot tucked inside Building C, right by the parking lot. Super convenient location with restrooms in the same building and right next to the Museo Italo Americano. It's the kind of place you'll want to swing by to grab a quick bite or a hot drink, especially with the cool breeze coming in from the nearby coastline. It's also in the perfect area since there are often farmers markets and fun events going on in the back pavilions. The staff inside are incredibly friendly and quick, and the prices are totally fair. I really liked the decor too. Just wish there were a few more tables inside to make it feel a little more cozy, but that's just me being picky. Parking out front is paid by meter, but if you're up for a short walk, there are some free lots just outside the main area. Great stop for a warm-up and a chill break. read more

This little hidden jem is a cute coffee & brunch spot, although I wish they'd add more to the lunch menu. I had the turkey & pesto panini which was delicious & crunchy. I also had the iced cold brew which was very flavorful and hit the spot. Super caffeinated too. The staff was very kind and inviting. I will be visiting often. read more

All round not very good. Don't try the crumble cakes - very dry and hard. My drink was missing two ingredients - the honey and milk. The bacon egg potato burrito is really just 10 pieces of bacon bits in an egg potato burrito. Stomach started feeling weird after. Coffee was not bad at least. read more

I was in the area because of a conference and decided to get coffee and lunch here. I got an iced honey lavender latte and their eggplant sandwich. The worker asked if whole milk was okay, and I asked if she had 2% because my stomach does better with 2%; unfortunately they didn't have 2% milk but she said she had nonfat and could mix the two of them if that was okay with me. I really appreciated how accommodating she was! It took some time to order and get my food and latte because she was the main person making the drinks and food, but it was a quick wait given that she was the only worker manning the place. read more

Really wanted to like this spot since it's right near the fort mason farmers market. I ordered a hot chai and it just tasted like steamed milk and had zero chai flavor. Also they wouldn't give me just a cup of water and made me buy a bottle. Sadly would not return to this spot. read more

We stopped by Goody Cafe to grab a quick drink while we were walking around Fort Mason. The cafe is small with coffee, burritos and some light snacks but a good amount of tables inside for a small space. I grabbed a kombucha while my friend got a mango yuzu drink. It's a nice, chill spot to relax and rest for a bit and I appreciated the drink selection - they have a good variety of sparking water, refreshments as well as some specialty lattes and drinks made in-house. read more

My family and I stopped by Goody Cafe on a walk along the water. It is located in an interesting complex of buildings that used to be used for military purposes and are now home to restaurants, cafes, museums, etc. The interior is full of photographs of cute animals. They sell food and drinks, and the barista was very sweet. We asked them for recommendations of things to do in the area, and they were super willing to help us out! We ordered a cappuccino, waters, and a burrito, and the barista gave us a free latte, as well. The coffee was tasty, waters were crisp, and the burrito hit the spot. Super convenient location, so I'm always inclined to get a drink here when in the area. I haven't tried the coffee, but their matcha is lacking. It does taste like matcha, but the milk ratio is off and overpowers it, but at least it's not clumpy? The price point isn't too bad either compared to the average prices in the same area. Average coffee. Pretty small cup, and I wish there was more ice since it was lukewarm quickly. I would prefer bigger cup, more ice. Baristas were nice and helped answered my questions. The store was very cute and colorful. I got the small Mexican mocha ($4.75) with oat milk (+0.75), and my boyfriend got a small dirty earl. The Mexican mocha tastes like regular mocha with cinnamon, which was quite good. My boyfriend did not like the dirty earl at all, but it wasn't too bad, pretty much a slightly more bitter earl grey tea. I think the room temperature drinks threw us off a little. Overall, it was alright. If you like to try funky, unique flavors then definitely give it a try. They have lots of floral options, but I'm not a fan. Personally, I wouldn't go back. read more

Goody Café is that oasis along the Marina shore. I dashed in before an event at the Festival Pavillon and got a cup of tea and piece of frittata. The frittata was like quiche lorraine with ham/bacon bits. Super moist, eggy. Delicious! There was a veggie frittata option too. This shot of protein for breakfast hit the spot! I visited Goody Cafe after attending an event in Fort Mason and, against my better judgment, ordered a matcha latte (whole milk because alternatives are an additional $0.75, lightly sweetened). It's their only matcha item on the menu so I didn't have high hopes but this one was actually worse than Starbucks' matcha lattes. It tasted strangely artificial. Please avoid ordering this and honestly, I would suggest to the cafe to take this off the menu entirely. I don't want to place too much blame on a coffee shop's matcha offerings hence the 2* but really, avoid this drink. Service wise, I expected the line of ~5 people ahead of me to go much faster but it dragged on. I felt very awkward placing my order because it was hard to hear the cashier/barista and I wasn't allowed to tap on any of the screen prompts myself so when we got to the dreaded tip screen, they asked me if I'd like to tip and I said no thank you. I mean.. 1. It's a dingy coffee shop with no cellular service, not a sit-down restaurant. 2. I waited 20+ minutes in a line of 5 people. 3. I could hardly hear the cashier. It has an industrial vibe but feels dirty inside. I'm all for visible piping and neon signs but the cheesecake bar that was smushed up in front of the glass display that was never cleaned up in the ~30 minutes I was there and the grungy counter made me think twice about ordering something consumable. read more

Went here to grab a coffee during the farmers market. I was planning on drinking my coffee as I browsed. The cup and lid were so bad/cheap that it was impossible to walk without spilling. The coffee spilled all over me and my shoes, and to top it all off the coffee was burned. I had two very messy sips and then threw it out. read more

Better than its Goodwill furniture look. Excellent scones baked on on site ($4) and large. Good Java. Air light frittatas ($5), healthy drink selection, etc. Severs are nice, but service hasty. It's hard to get frittatas well heated, even if you asked. (Cold eggs at the bottom defeat the chef's craft.) But well worth a visit on Farmer's Market Sundays. read more

Horrible run by real fascists they refused a cup of tapwater to an 85 year-old senior citizen needing to take a prescription medication when I asked why they said it was company policy. They didn't even offer to sell a bottle of water. This was a really evil act it was indecent And probably against the law probably Senior Abuse. read more

I can't stop thinking about their orange blossom latte. See, I also have a slight obsession with Persian orange blossom ice cream. I never thought I'd taste that in other foods but wow! My coffee was amaaaazing. The rest of the menu features other goodies like honey lavender and matcha. Their baked goods included lemon bars, coffee cake and a really delicious looking carrot cake. Too bad we just came from a big brunch or I would've been all over that carrot cake. There's a few picnic tables outside and it's literally steps away from the Fort Mason Craft Fair. Stopped by the cafe again. Always had good experience and good food. Was confused by the reviews by a senior below who was refused tap water. Was told indeed they don't serve tap water, their tea and coffee is made with filtered water, not tap water. I've been refused water in other businesses including fast food places, sometimes they'd point you to the soda machine if they have one. I don't drink tap water unless it's been boiled, especially outside of my house. There were bottled water that you can pick up right in front of the cash registrar. I would take my pill with the coffee. read more

I waited an hour to get a coffee today. Had I of known it would take this long, I never would have waited in line. The line wasn't even that long. Once I was inside, there were 6 people in front of me and it took another 30 minutes. Obviously this spot gets hit with lots of traffic for the markets, so why is the service so slow? Coffee and chai is great, love the lavender latte too. Their paninis are yummy as well. People are friendly and service is quick. The interior isn't the nicest or coziest so I've never felt inclined to sit there. I would love if they upgraded the seating a bit and made the ambiance better because I'd love to come do work there. read more

Goody Cafe is at the Fort Mason center and attached to the library's bookstore at Fort Mason. I had needed a snack and was looking around. I didn't want Greens today, so I found Goody Cafe by seeing the sign and it appeared fun and quaint. I sat down at a table with Nanowrimo in November and tried to have my cheesecake and lemonade..to snack after biking on a Saturday. San Francisco life can be nice and homey. There were ladies by themselves using laptops at the Nanowrimo table. Goody Cafe has cafe drinks and some treats. Fun times. read more

This is my favorite cafe in the whole world. Such nice people who work there, delicious food and drinks, staff plays a great selection of genres on vinyl behind the counter, it's attached to one of the Friends of the Library bookstores, and the location is absolutely beautiful. I'm waiting for them to reopen. I keep my fingers patiently crossed until I can return and eat my lovely cheese danish with the berries and half an apricot on top. I miss the place!!! If they survive the pandemic I'll have the fullest heart on Earth. I miss the conversations about books, music, culture in general. They only seem to hire very interesting conversationalists. read more

I don't have much to say about the food, though I imagine it's pretty good. I had a sparkling lemon drink that was sparkly and lemony, and a banana that was bananny. Yum! I was just kinda bummed with how we were treated when leaving. There was a door to the side and slightly behind the counter; this doorway was open to the outside, and there was a big, lit-up green "exit" sign right above it. When we headed toward this apparent exit, we got stopped and scolded. We had stepped into their kitchen, and this was not okay. They asked/told us to exit the same way we entered. As we headed toward the correct exit, one of the employees continued to explain to us what we'd done wrong; this person seemed extra-agitated. Now to be fair, it was a busy time (noonish Sunday), and I imagine we weren't the first to try using the off-limits exit. Probably super irritating and stressful! Here's my thing: I totally respect that they needed to re-direct us; but they treated us as though it should have been obvious what we did wrong. There was a big, lit exit sign above the doorway, the doorway was open, and there was a relatively clear path through it! Many cafes and restaurants have their customers walk partway through the kitchen, to access restrooms, etc. Also, in these days of pandemic, many cafes and restaurants have a single entrance and a separate single exit. It's fine with us if that's not what they had going on at the "Goody," but they could have just told us that; why be so scoldy/snarky about it? One simple solution would be to post a sign saying "employees only beyond this point," something like that. Anyway. I think it's a cool spot! I just thought the reaction to our misstep was a bit out of proportion, left us feeling crappy about ourselves and about the staff. We thought we were doing the right thing; it definitely wasn't obvious we were doing something super-bad. read more

So glad Goody has reopened! Their scones are top-notch (so many varieties), as is their quinoa salad (when they make it) and their bread pudding (made from day-old scones ... yum). And their panini sandwiches! Okay, you can satisfy your food yearnings here. (They even have a nice selection of Red Blossom teas.) Came here during the famers market looking for some caffeine and discovered a new favorite coffee shop. I've been twice now and both times I had the Mexican mocha. It's the best flavored coffee drink I've ever had. Perfect levels of sweetness and spice, every sip is a bit of heaven. On my second trip I also had the veggie frittata which was also very good. Service was quick and friendly and you can't beat the location. read more

Laptop camper here. Goody Café replaces the Reader's Café space and shares a space with the Friends of the Public Library bookstore, Book Bay. The menu lists their drinks. I spotted pastries on cake pedestals and a case with breakfast burritos, hummus wraps, fruit cups, yogurt parfaits, cheesecake, and brownies. Someone asked for a sandwich though I didn't see any on the menu or in the case. * Quinoa salad: with chickpeas, basil and sunflower seeds, good and simple. * Latte: They use Mr. Espresso beans. The latte was quite smooth. The foam art was a simple heart. There's free wi-fi and a few power outlets. The ambiance hasn't changed much. I like the industrial, worn in look. The comfortable chairs are gone. It's one of the few places in town where you can easily find free, all day parking and enjoy a nice waterfront walk. You know you love me.
