We picked up a screw in our rear tire and it started going flat on I-70 on long drive home Thanksgiving weekend. We called a couple of tire shops in Golden, but no one could get us in. We were literally riding on our rim when we got to Goodyear, and these guys were our last hope. The manager was amazing and got us in right away, even though he and his crew were swamped. They really took care of our stressful situation, and I would 100% recommend this shop! read more

Less than 200 miles and two months after the Golden, CO Goodyear store performed routine brake service my brakes began grabbing and grinding. The store said bearings repair was needed, and said they would do this under warranty. Then, after the work was done, they charged me additional fees for the bearings work. First, the bearings should have been serviced during routine brake service, but they did not. Second, they levied charges for the additional work after they said it would be done under warranty, without my prior approval. This likely violates Colorado state law CRS 42-9-104. After I paid the additional (unlawful) charges, my brakes failed multiple times, including instances while I drove on the highway, and once while 200 miles from home on a mountain pass. (In that harrowing instance I was stranded and had to pay out of pocket for repairs, towing, etc.) After each instance of brake failure, I returned to the Goodyear store where the store manager claimed to repair it under warranty, offered a variety of excuses, explanations and assurances, all of which ultimately proved to be empty and false. Goodyear in the end never repaired the brakes correctly. Now, a different repair shop is recommending a complete new brake job to correct the damage caused by Goodyear. They installed incorrect parts for my vehicle, installed parts incorrectly, including installing bearings with no grease. Another repair shop confirmed that bearings had been installed with literally no grease. This guaranteed that the bearings would overheat and the brakes would malfunction, as happened to my vehicle a total of five times since Goodyear performed the routine brake service. This is a shocking example of faulty workmanship, that easily could have had terrible dangerous consequences. It was just dumb luck that myself, my passengers and other drivers on the road were not harmed any of the times my brakes failed. As a practical matter, the local Goodyear store staff ruined my vehicle by rendering it no longer reliably safe to drive. It never previously had any problem with the brakes. Now, having interacted with the Goodyear company's corporate people, I am certain the problems encountered at the local Goodyear store reflect the broader corporation's culture. I interacted with George Theodore at the Goodyear corporate Property Damage Claims Team. He was calloused and indifferent. When I attempted to ask questions, he spoke to me with a contemptuous tone and and hung up on me. Before he hung up, though, he told me to call the goodyear corporate customer relations number with questions about refunding amounts paid for the failed brake service.  When I called, I was told the regional manager Jeff Moraine would contact me within 48 hours. He never did; I reached out to him directly, still no reply. Weeks later a customer service rep left a message telling me to contact the Property Damage Claims Team. This was a textbook example of runaround, and additional insult on top of the extant harm caused by this company. These people have no shame, no respect for customers who spend their money and time patronizing their businesses, no concern at all for people harmed by faulty workmanship at their stores. I will be filing a report with my local law enforcement agency, documenting that the local goodyear store levied charges without my prior approval. But I know this will not effect the corporate actor's conduct. All I can do is resolve to never patronize any business or purchase any brand connected to goodyear, and to communicate the experience to others (hence this review) so they can avoid goodyear repair centers and the goodyear company more generally, to avoid similar harm, damage, and loss. read more

I have been waiting almost 1 full month to receive reimbursement for my services received under warranty. I have yet to even receive communication that there is progress being made on the claim. This was after my vehicle had to return to this same shop 3 TIMES in 1 month due to them not finding the root cause of my alternator and battery consistently dying out on me. I didn't want to take it to this location in the first place because I dealt with this same exact issue at the SAME exact time last year when I had to take my vehicle in MULTIPLE times for them to believe that it was actually my alternator that was bad and not just replacing my battery again and again. I took it back to this location only because my parts were under warranty because of the same exact work they did on my car the year before. Mike, the new store manager, was very thorough and helpful explaining everything and ensuring they would do whatever they could to find out the issue. Even once I felt entirely certain that my car would not have any more issues after leaving here for the 3RD TIME, my car broke down again. This time I finally just had my car towed to the shop that I know and trust, Hotchkiss Auto on Colfax. Once in their shop, it took a couple of attempts for them to figure out the issue, but they finally identified what was actually wrong before handing the car over to me and I have been safely driving on the roads for over a month now with no issues. Mike at Goodyear in Golden ensured me that they would make this right and I should be covered under warranty for the work the new shop did that their shop could not do correctly. I have been going back and forth via email with no sense of urgency and no clue if or when I will receive reimbursement. I normally do not take to leaving reviews, but I am hoping that leaving this will create some sense of urgency for the matter and the huge inconvenience this location's lack of attention to detail has caused me the past 2 months. read more

Got a flat at 5:45am this morning on my way to work and called Goodyear and stopped in and was talking to the Service Manager Michael Spex before they opened to get my Jeep back in the road, then the Store Manager Mike Manning gave me some great advice for which tires and benefits to each if I had to replace them. In the meantime the tech Lucas was able to repair my tire and get me back on the road which was a blessing. Great having a good team of guys to take care of my Jeep. Will definitely be back for all my tire needs. Kudos to the all guys here. read more

AWFUL experience. Got brand new set of tires for our jeep - paid for installation. By the time finished I was late for a meeting (not goodyears fault) so when I got in the car I noticed the right side of the cars tires at 42psi, left side at 29psi (both) which was weird since they were all supposed to be at 36psi. Figured either the TPMS was not adjusted yet and I could fill manually adjust/fill later. Come Monday, my wife has a flat 40 miles away from home. Made it to discount tire who was in disbelief at the sight of all our valve stems one of which was hissing!! They replaced our valve stems (for free!) stating my wife couldn't drive with those in that condition. When I called Goodyear, they told me 'well, we will inspect the valve stems and if need be we will install them and it might be something else (wouldn't answer if I'd be responsible for 'something else'). Obviously, to save a buck, and at risk to my wife/jeep/tires, decided to not replace our valves stems even though apparently they were visibly (and audibly!!!) in bad shape. The low psi was obviously the first sign something was bad, then obviously the valve stems should have been replaced but weren't, and then I got the impression if they found 'another reason' I would be on the hook after they stranded my wife! Why would I trust them to 'inspect them again'??? Now I'm worried the previous work I've had down is suspect if this is what is handed back to customers UPDATE: Goodyear did reach out to me to their credit. Was some new employees that weren't trained enough, which I understand. Still a bad experience in that could have been avoided, but the manager tried to make it right which is all I can ask. read more

Unfriendly service. Slow service. Actually, no service. I scheduled a 9 am. drop-off. I got there a littleearly, and the bays were closed. I was obviously their first customer of the day. I came in and told them I needed front calipers. I explained that I took it in when I was in Aurora and that it needed its brakes all redone and that I was doing it piecemeal, as I got the money together. It seemed pretty straightforward to me. The guy at the front counter wasn't friendly, but he didn't actively try to kill me, good enough. I gave them my keys. I watched them pull my Jeep into a bay as I waited for my Uber. Jump to noon, when I call them. "Hey, I haven't heard from you in 3 hours. What's up?" The guy on the phone was the guy on the phone was the guy who checked me in, Bob. He told me that he had two guys look at it, and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. He wanted a third guy to look at it, and then he'd have the manager call me. An hour and a half goes by. I call back. I have to start work at 3:00. It's 1:30 (4 and a half hours after I brought it in), and I want to know what's going on with my car. I have no problem leaving it there overnight if it's being worked on. I get the manager this time. She says something weird is going on with my calipers, but they can't figure out what. I'm pretty sure whatever the problem is, it would be fixed by replacing them... like I asked! At that point, I tell them I just want to pick up my car. I wait 10 minutes for an Uber. It takes 10 minutes to drive over there. Is my car waiting for me? No! Of course not. All I can say in their favor is that they at least didn't have the audacity to charge me for that. Now, I get to drive back to Aurora with crappy brakes. Whoo-hoo! read more

I walked in fully willing to pay for their work but they said it was on the house. I have been a loyal customer to Goodyear for years and this is why I continue to be. We've taken our car in multiple times for an oil change AND tire rotation. We were suspicious that they weren't doing the tire rotation, so when we recently took it in again, we marked the tires first. When we dropped it off, we verified with the Goodyear guy that they were going to rotate the tires along with the oil change. He said "yes". Well, sure enough, the tires weren't rotated! We were lied to and we felt cheated. We'll be finding another place to take our car in for oil change and TIRE ROTATION in the future. : / read more

This location has unfortunately fallen apart again after some time with decent management (that had to fix a lot from ten or so years ago). They not only have trouble getting a quote set up when you ask for it, they flip the script on you to propose you pay double for an utterly standard oil change, even after coupon, suggesting some sort of "special Euro spec" oil is how a very widely driven European car (especially in Colorado) "must" be used, which is wrong, and easy to corroborate as wrong not only by competitor estimates, but prior visits to this location. The gaslight energy is high here, and odds are good they try to do this sort of bait and switch on many unsuspecting customers. I'm glad I won't be doing business there for a long while (will wait for better management in a few years). read more

Stopped in to have a flat tire repaired. Only one employee working so it was going to take the entire day. We were traveling through so that wasn't the best option. I then asked if it was a covered expense as I had purchased over $1000 worth of Goodyear tires through Subaru. The tires were registered with Goodyear as well for the damage protection. He said he would not honor it as I didn't have my receipt. Totally condescending and rude. He did not offer to look and see if it was in their system either. It's a Wednesday and I called to see if I could get my tires rotated and balanced as I was driving past. They got me in within a half hour. Joe was very helpful with that. I've always head really great service here. They never upsell me on anything that I don't need, and will always tell me if a repair doesn't "need" to be done. The pricing is comparable to anywhere else, and the service and turnout is great. My tire fell off after they "fixed it." At least it was connected before I took it to their shop. When I got it back (about 2 miles in), I was driving to the ATM via the mall road. Luckily, I needed some cash before I got on 6. I would have been in a major wreck going 65 mph and it fall off. Worst place ever! read more

The oil change took well over an hour even though I had an appointment but I had a cheap coupon so I wasn't upset. I went on a road trip immediately after the oil change. I checked under the hood 300 miles later and found the oil cap at the bottom of the engine and oil splashed all over my engine. After calling and notifying them of this very basic screwup they said I was lucky I noticed. I think they were lucky I noticed it. They said they would take "care of me" the next time I came in. What makes them think I'll come in again? As far as I am concerned, they screwed up in the present and if they want to make things right, do it in the present. Another minor detail was that they did not place the miliage sticker on the windshield. Not a big deal in itself but if they are lacking that much attention to detail, who knows if they are putting the wrong kind of oil or forgetting to replace the filter? A friend brought her tundra in for an oil change there 6 months ago and it has been making a wierd sound ever since. I went to another oil change place in town who told me they had heard many horror stories about these guys work. I would recommend Brakes Plus on Colfax (they were not the ones who told me about the horror stories). I have been there multiple times and it has been quicker and more reliable. We have been using this Goodyear off and on for the past five or six years - mostly for oil changes and tires/rotation, but occasionally other engine work too. Early on I wasn't crazy about it, but in the past year or two customer service has really improved. Most notably the guys there are friendlier and seem more honest and trustworthy. Don't hard sell something you don't need. The last two times I've taken a car in on Sunday, which is super convenient for me. Kevin ran things in the office and Joe did the work, and I've been pleased both times. They are not the fastest in town but they are honest with workload, so I usually leave and come back later. Just got my 2002 Jeep Liberty oil change with a free tire rotation and inspection. I went to jiffy lube prior but they said the didn't have the proper tools for my jeep. It took roughly 2 hours to complete at goodyear but I'm very happy with the service. The mechanics informed me my air filter was in bad shape and offered to change it while also informing me of the additional cost. These guys were great and very friendly! read more

I'm on travel of about 650 miles from home. I'm at the Days Inn around the corner and notice that my driver's side tire on the front end is low. I didn't want to ignore it knowing that a portion of my route through eastern Colorado and western Kansas has no Sprint tower. So no cell phone coverage with the possibility of having a blowout means danger in the back of my mind. They took care of me despite being busy. I could have gone to another location because I can see them being swamped. Turns out there was a cut on the inside. I awoke to a completely flat tire this morning, found a screw embedded in it. Put the spare on, dropped the kids off and arrived at this location in my hometown of Golden 5minutes after they opened. The surly older gentleman did not greet me at all as I entered the store. I let him know I had a screw in my tire and could they fix it. His response was more of a grunt than anything audible but replied "you have to leave it". "It's located right on the middle of the tread, just needs a quick plug and patch" I said. There's no way to have it done sooner so I can make It to work today?" "You have to leave it" is the response I received. This despite the fact that no one else was there, no cars in the bays and only one car in the parking lot, which I'm assuming belonged to the employee. Overall Terrible customer service. It's all in the delivery and had he been less irritated by having to work he could have mustered a better response, even if the outcome would have been the same. My family and I live and work in Golden, love our community and very much take pride in our small town. This kind of service is not what we would want our residents or our visitors to experience. I left and went DIRECTLY across the street to Their competitor-Big O Tires. These folks already had 2 customers in front of me and several cars in their bays. However, the service person treated me with basic respect AND fixed my tire for free in less than an hour. Big O on S Golden road will now get my business and my friends and fellow Goldenites will hear what a great customer experience they provided. Customers have choices. I hope Goodyear reads this and does same customer experience work with their staff. The gentleman this morning really needs it. read more

I used to live at Summit View Apartments, right up the road from this Good Year. I would take my car there just because it was the closest auto repair shop and I could walk home. Well, this was back in 2009, and they gained my trust over the years. Now, I live much further away since we bought a house in 2012. Now, it's 2017, and I still take my car to them! They are dependable, but more than that, they really only do the work that needs to be done, and always confirm with you a fair price before proceeding to get the job done. Make an appointment when you are not in a rush, as timing is not the most important thing to them. They are cost efficient, good mechanics, thorough, and trustworthy. I had high demands for the replacement of all four with time constraints to get it done.
