Avoid Goodyear Auto - Riverview, FL. I came in with an A/C issue, already recharged and suspected the compressor. Mimi pushed a diagnostic for $185. After that, I was charged another $244 for a recharge I never approved or was told about beforehand. Manager Sam said he didn't even want to work on the car, and falsely claimed I had a leak -- something I confirmed wasn't true through 3 other mechanics. I never got the quote I was promised (despite giving my email 3x), my A/C still doesn't work, and I'm out $429 for nothing. Shady, unprofessional, and dishonest. I want my $244 refunded. Don't trust this place. (Full issue) Title: Incompetent, Deceptive, and Unprofessional - Stay Away from Goodyear Riverview! Review: I am absolutely disgusted with the level of service and integrity at this location. On March 29, 2025, I brought in my 2015 Honda Accord and explained clearly to Mimi that my A/C had just been recharged and I believed the compressor was the problem. My A/C would cool for about 3-5 minutes and then blow warm. I made it very clear that I already had the system checked for leaks elsewhere and received three prior professional opinions confirming that the compressor was the issue. Despite that, Mimi insisted that I needed to pay $185 for a diagnostic -- which I reluctantly agreed to -- hoping for a real confirmation and a clear path to repair. Later, I was suddenly told I owed an additional $244 for a vacuum and recharge -- a service that was NEVER mentioned or authorized beforehand. When I questioned it, I was told this was "standard procedure." If I had known this cost was going to be added, I would've never agreed to it. Lack of transparency, no upfront communication, and zero customer consideration. To make matters worse, when I spoke to the manager, Sam, he claimed my car had a leak -- which is completely false. I had just had the A/C system inspected and recharged elsewhere with no sign of a leak. He was either guessing or being dishonest. He even told me directly, "I didn't want to work on your car anyway." If that was the case, he should've told me before they wasted my time and money. I also asked for a written quote for the compressor, and Sam claimed they'd send it via email. I provided my email addresses three separate times, and I still haven't received the quote. Instead, I was handed a handwritten note with a $1,300+ balance and no breakdown of labor or parts. I do not trust them to work on my vehicle. I've now paid $429 (plus tax) for unauthorized and unresolved work. I was misled, ignored, and taken advantage of. I've filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and I'm warning anyone reading this -- do not take your car to this location. You'll get vague answers, surprise charges, and absolutely no accountability. Save your time, your money, and your sanity. Go somewhere with honest mechanics who respect their customers. Unreliable location. I made an appointment with them prior to dropping off my vehicle. 30 minutes before the estimated pick up time, I called Jackie at 12:30pm to see if it was ready. Jackie informed me my vehicle was just taken back and my vehicle had been dropped off at 9am. Jackie relayed to me that they did not have the oil on hand and then they realized they didn't have the correct filter in stock. Explain to me how it's possible to perform an oil change without the correct filter!? She said she would call me when the vehicle was ready, that someone would have to run to Auto Zone down the street to get a filter to finish the job and could not provide me with an estimated time of when the vehicle would be ready. At 2:09pm I got call stating the vehicle was ready to be picked up. When I arrived, I was being charged for an additional quart of oil. When I questioned why I wasn't called and asked if it was okay to add it prior to doing it. Jackie replied my apologies they only added 4.88... there's no point in finishing this review. This Goodyear is going downhill and fast. Are you all going out of business? Need an oil change? They don't overcharge much but in most cases you'll need to burn a PTO day if you need to wait. My 10am oil change, car still hasn't moved and it's 3:00pm. 5 hours so far and not even started yet. The last time I came here with an appointment I had to get the keys from them after waiting 2+ hours. They used to offer coffee and water. Now, you get nothing. 25 years I've used Goodyear. I requested an oil change with an appt time and took 6 hrs to complete. When I got to the shop the manager told me that my oil dipstick was broken, I'm like ok it's an easy replacement. The mechanic actually bent the tube the oil stick goes in and couldn't take the oil stick out. The manager had the nerves to tell me that my car came in like that knowing that the hood couldn't be shut. The manager told me to tow my vehicle to the dealership to get it fix, I thought the manager was kidding, but was serious. I had to keep my composure and demanded to speak to the general manager. The GM took care of the issue his mechanics made but I suffered 3 days without my car and still charge me for the oil change ( I didn't want to argue, hoping for common courtesy) I would never bring a car here and anybody reading this to do the same. I do not know what has happened there but the last two times the people answering the phones have been nothing but rude and condescending. Just put on 4 new tires a week later I have a flat, I call and the answer is too bad I have a lot of appointments you can sit and wait all day or drop it off and we will get to it when we can! A great place to go if you don't want them checking out your car for any other problems. I went in for an oil change. I knew I had a lot of problems with my car, including a crushed oil pan. I decided to give this place a try since I always get hounded to fix a million things when I bring my car to SEARS for an oil change. Well, they did the oil change, and never commented on anything else being wrong with the car or if it was checked. The only problem I had with this place is, I drove past the shop with my husband on our way to the movies and I noticed the back passenger window was down. When we were in the movies, it DOWN POURED!!! All I could think about was my car and the window being left open by the shop. When I went to pick up my car, the window was still down, the rain stopped, and the seats were drenched. I let them know and they gave me a few dollars off, but I am sure glad that didn't happen in my new car, I would have been beyond mad. A few dollars off your bill doesn't help the fact that your seats are drenched! I'll be going back to Sears until I find a place that I can be loyal to. read more

Wouldn't recommend. Do not use their online scheduling. They say they have availability no matter what but in fact they were completely booked and running behind schedule when I showed up for my appointment. It took over 5 hours to repair a tire with a screw in it. They don't provide any updates as you wait and if you ask they just tell you they're working on it. Had I known it would take half a day to fix I would have found a different place. read more

Worst service I've ever recieved. Went in the day before and they said they were too busy so if I left it overnight they would get to it first thing in the morning. Then I decide to just bring it in around 8:30 (keep in mind they open at 8 and close at 5) they took all day to get to it. Then zi called them around 4:30-4:45 to see if they are almost done and they said I can come because it will be ready in. 10-15 min and I've been waiting almost an hour for my car. Blew out a tire on I-75 N and had my car towed here. It was late in the day (4pm) and they could not get it done that day so I had to leave it over night. Jeff was great in helping me choose a new tire. I actually ended up replacing all 4 (it was time) and they got it done the next morning and did an alignment also. He gave me all the info on the $75 rebate Goodyear had on my tires and was very helpful & professional. They were busy so an appointment would probably be a good idea. Wow, $69.95 to plug/patch a Goodyear tire at the Goodyear store??? That is crazy expensive! Went over to SAM club across the street and they did it for FREE. I went in for break pad change...next day I have an oil leak took it to them and of course they are denying they did anything to my car. I didn't drive it anywhere but home 5 minutes away. Had a another technician look at it and wow surprise the oil pan has perfect puncture hole.....this was not cause by running something over...they damaged my oil pan on purpose! Took my car into get the A/C checked and supposedly is the only QUALIFIED Tech that could do it cough ,cough. He does have a fancy snap on a/c machine but doesn't know how to use it, he filled it with Freon and dye but never mentioned that he found any leaks. Well I'm here at the dealership and theres definitely a leak didn't want to take it back to someone who couldn't do his job the first go around because all they will do is want to replace everything just to take your money. Dropped my 2019 Ram off for 4 new tires, oil change and 3 year alignment. I setup an appointment for Saturday at 9am I dropped my truck off at 845 AM. I came back to the store at 5pm truck is still on the lift with no wheels I asked the lady how much longer she said they just have to put the wheels on the truck. And do the alignment it will be an hour. 5:46PM I was looking through service window and notice that they are just now dis-mounting my old tires. So the lady at the counter lied or the tech lied. 6:06 oil change was just done 6:13 truck goes on wheel alignment lift. So much truck has been here all day and they managed to get the wheels off in 9 hours. 6:23 still waiting How does it take 10 hours to do these 3 services if I didn't make an appointment I get it first come first serve but what's the point of making an appointment and the website saying 3 hours for the worked to be performed. 4 hours should be more then enough to get this done. Don't give me the because of COVID excuse there are ways to provide service and customer service during COVID. This is another example of greedy company over booking to try and make more money. I had my wife's 18 Edge SUV in here 2 weeks ago for oil change, tire rotation and wheel alignment. I purchased the 3 year package when I got the tires on her truck in 2020 have only been bring my vehicles here. I have been a customer at this Goodyear since I first moved into the area in 2008. For nearly 15 years, I have always been pleased with the service I've received here, whether routine oil changes and tire rotations, tire repair and replacement, brake work, or transmission repair. Gina and Jeff are always friendly and efficient, and the technicians are friendly as well. Typically I bring my wife's vehicle or my vehicle in and leave it with them and they call me when it's ready, but when I have to wait with the vehicle, they definitely try to get the work finished ASAP. I trust their expertise and am always confident in the work this Goodyear's staff performs on my vehicles. I highly recommend this location and plan to continue to have our vehicles maintained by Gina, Jeff and their staff. read more

Don't let them waste your time! My services where basic in the world of Good year repair. I needed the Oil changed on two separate vehicles and an alignment on one of the two. At the close of business on Sunday I picked up my vehicle the oil change was complete, but the alignment and tire rotation that was supposed to have come with a tire rotation, I can't validate the two took place. Due to the car is still pulling right as if I have a ghost driver, they admitted they never bothered to perform the rotation at all. So to have the issue corrected, I dropped off the second car on Monday early afternoon as agreed upon for the oil change and returning with the first so they could make it right. I get a call at 5:30 asking if I could leave the car overnight I left prior this same day because they where behind. Real simple for me, I will not forfeiture quality service for convenience. $18 oil change is cheaper than what you could do on your own, and they give you an inspection and diagnose problems they find. Good for a DIY guy like myself, and there an auto parts store in the same lot. But, definitely drop off your car, it takes about two hours for an oil change. I've had nothing but good experiences here. The staff are friendly. I've gotten oil changes, purchased a few sets of tires, and gotten tuneups for both our economy cars and luxury cars with NO problems with the work. We've been going there for 8 years now. They used to be a little pushy for additional services but not in the past couple of years. They also have a few perks, such as free tire repair, and some military discounts. I feel comfortable recommending them for standard car service. And I'll try them for extensive service if I ever need it. read more

I needed to get new tires because I found some gashes on the tread of the right rear tire today on my Ford Explorer. Called Gina at Goodyear to confirm pricing and availability of the tires I selected online. Not only did they have them in stock, but she said it could be done today! Mind now it is 15:45 when I am calling, and they close at 19:00. I took the vehicle up there and they installed the 4 tires as promised and I was done by 18:54! They did not try to sell me services I did not need, they just gave me the service I needed at a really competitive price, and I did not have to take another day off or adjust my schedule to get the work done. Took my 2000 Honda CR-V in on Sunday because it was the only place open that could take a look at the vehicle. Vehicle was overheating and I asked the technician to check the cooling fan as well as the radiator and hoses. They found a split hose that needed to be replaced "before they could check the fan or radiator." They replaced the 4 hoses, did a cooling flush and then did nothing else as they were wrapping up to close on Sunday evening. I waited for the technician to finish working on my vehicle and when he was finished, he closed the hood and drove the car around the building to me. There was no post repair checks done and the fan and radiator weren't even checked! Two days later, I pull into work and put the car in park only to have the hood start smoking again, the temp gauge spikes to hot and there is coolant all over the engine block. I called Goodyear and had the vehicle towed to them. They then discovered that my radiator had a leak. SHOCKING! However, since they claim that this was not related to the previous work done, they would not cover the $400 cost to replace the radiator, even though Jacob, the technician admitted to me that sometimes coolant work can cause pressure build up and radiator leaks. Yet he was still adamant that it had nothing to do with the prior coolant work that they had done. The technicians did the bare minimum to get my car back on the road, yet did not complete the service or diagnostics that I had brought the vehicle in for, claiming that it was not in the scope of service when it was clearly delineated to them that the car was overheating. Even the first tech that I spoke to said that he had to replace the hoses before anything else could be checked, but then they failed to even do the checks necessary to certify my car was in working order. I have involved the corporate office in this matter and will not be taking my vehicle back there for anything, even an oil change. Do yourselves a favor and go to Firestone, Tuffy's or any other location other than this Goodyear. read more

The manager looked like he debated changing my tire but instead tried to upsell me on a price for next day on a tire that didn't match my car; this is the second time in a few years Goodyear turned me away Also they had no generic tires - only brand names for over 100 bucks I drove five seconds to Firestone and the manager Michael saw me and 3 other people after me. Two evenings ago my low tire pressure light came on. Since I had already had to replace two tires in the last 3 months due to nails in the sidewall, I figured this would be the same. I stopped this Goodyear store to have them look at the tire. After waiting for more than an hour, I was told that nothing was wrong with any of the tires. The problem was incorrect air pressure in all of them. The service tech said n/c and I tipped him $20.00 for his troubles. On my way home today from Orlando, I have had to stop twice to put air in my left rear tire. I called this store again and they asked me to come in as early as possible. 15 minutes later I was there and signed the paperwork for the work to be done. After waiting 1 hour and43 minutes I asked the manger of the day how much longer it would be. He said that there were other people ahead of me that had appointments and he could even guess at how much longer it would be.
