I heard this place had "The Best Pizza in Jesup" so I obviously had to try it out. I stopped in on a late Sunday afternoon and LITERALLY no one was there. I usually take this as a bad sign, but I'm glad I went ahead and ordered a small pie to go. I opted for a small 10" which would've been big enough for two meals. I chose to eat it for dinner as well as second dinner, a favorite meal of mine! They were generous with cheese and toppings. The crust was thick and the whole pie did have a "gooey" feel to it, but in the best way! I couldn't help but go for a slice on the way home and made a bit of a mess. Worth it! Though I didn't eat there, the inside of the restaurant was decorated very colorfully and wacky- probably a fun place for the kids! If I'm back in Jesup, I'll definitely return. I do wish they offered slices, though!

Gooey's is a MUST STOP every single time we visit from California! Our go to is the chicken bacon pizza and piggy sticks.

Expensive as hell though. Order something else if your kids want pizza...they won't appreciate Gooeys.

The flavor is surprisingly good. I will add the chips are not greasy and very tasty. Side salad is a great side option. We also loved the lemon pepper chicken wings. Very crispy and not greasy. The Havarti grilled cheese sandwich was also a hit. Handhelds were priced $15-20. And the entrees were $20+. Highly recommended this restaurant and bar. The store is a plus to the dine.

We sat at the bar but learned the Tuesday special was a flight of three bartender choice wines 2 oz pours for $15. Evidently the Wine tasting thing was not current. We've seen many restaurants don't update their web site so it's always a gamble when you show up. Not sure if it was an open table thing or the restaurant. Either way we enjoy wine so my wife ordered a red flight and I ordered a $6 happy hour Italian Pinot Noir. The Pinot was fine and decent pour and my wife sampled the flight. One of the wines was a little off and we both thought it may have soured. She mentioned it to the bartender and he shrugged it off and said it wasn't an old bottle. Mentioned it again and no big deal. Might have been nice to at least offer something else. I'd recommend ordering a glass of what you like rather than waste the $15. For dinner I wanted to try the seared pork ribeye but they were out of stock so I settled for the short rib sandwich on ciabatta bread. My wife ordered the beet and goat cheese salad which she enjoyed and thought was fine. The short rib sandwich was tasty enough but the bread was soft like it came out of a plastic bag. I was hoping for a better quality bread which is important for a sandwich. It wasn't something I would order again. Overall it's a really quaint place with isles of olive oil and items to purchase but the experience was a 2.0 and the food average 3.0 at best. I really expected a bit more especially from the look and feel of the place. Not sure I could get around to wanting to go back to try anything else on the menu. Bartender was nice but overall just not a good experience after a long day of work. I feel bad to leave an unsatisfactory score but I upped my 2.0 to 3.0 as ratings are important and it's probably at least a 3.0.

From the moment we sat down in the bar area, Michael made us feel genuinely welcome. He was warm, personable, attentive, and had the perfect balance of professionalism and friendliness. He anticipated what we needed before we even had to ask, checked on us at just the right times, and made the entire evening feel relaxed and enjoyable. It's rare to come across someone who truly loves what they do, and it showed in every interaction. The food was outstanding! We enjoyed delicious martinis, amazing meatballs, freshly baked bread that was impossible to stop eating, and fantastic pizza. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. What really made the evening memorable, though, was Michael. He elevated a great meal into an exceptional dining experience. His genuine hospitality, positive attitude, attention to detail, and engaging personality are exactly what every restaurant hopes to provide its guests. If you're dining at Michael Anthony's Market Cafe, ask to sit in Michael's section at the bar - you'll be glad you did. He's an absolute asset to the restaurant, and we'll definitely be whatback because of him. Five stars all the way!

Loved the Caesar salad with fried anchovies--yes, please! I loved my entree (the spaghetti with crab). My BIL's veal Milanese was very good, and the arancini I tasted from my sister's scallop special were fabulous. Would have liked the dish to come with larger bay scallops, though. My friend would have liked more of a thin crispy cutlet in her chicken parm but that's what she's used to. My panna cotta was lovely! No complimentary bread service here, and FYI, a simple side of pasta is $15. I've been told to make a rez and sit at the bar.
