Love, love, love this place. Maddie was an exceptional waitress. We scored a table for 5 towards the back. We heard it's a local favorite and they had some amazing options that fit everyone in the group. I got the Seafood a la GOOMBAY. It was perfect and delish, I upgraded to veggies as my side. Hubby got the Al's Cajun Angels, my mom got the wings, dad got the fish and chips...and everyone was really happy. Great selection of beers including Intercoastal (local brewery). Atmosphere is great! It was so good, hubby wanted to come here the next day!

We parked here at random, trying to figure out what beach we wanted to go to and it ended up going in. Glad we did! we had a great time! The restaurant is pleasantly beachy/touristy which was just what we wanted. The waitstaff was really helpful and friendly, they made sure we knew what came with our entree so we didn't accidentally order a side of rice. My husband and I shared an entree with pulled pork service on tostones with mango salsa. It also came with a sweet teriyaki sauce. It was an interesting combo all together. Not something I would have imagined, but tasty! It came with carribean rice which was also quite good. We ordered a side of sweet potato fries after finding out that we were getting rice with the entry. The sweet potato fries were not my jam - as soon as I tasted the cinnamon I was not that interested - but my husband liked them... and I understand lots of people like that combo, but no thank you. My husband got a cocktail with orange juice and peach schnapps. which he enjoyed, but I can't find the name of on their website. However, this is not beachside. There is a highway and some fancy condos or a hotel or something between you and the beach. We ate outside, and the highway is a bit loud. Still a great restaurant, but beachside is a stretch.

Had to pull the fish off the bun it was just too big and messy. The rice complimented the fish very well instead of fries. The Cuban sandwich was amazing! Our server was fantastic, the restaurant was a typical beach style establishment.

This place has a beachside vibe ( laid back and friendly). We stopped in here for lunch on a Wednesday. It was not crowded and the service was great. We ordered a cup of gumbo and a cup of the seafood bisque. Both were phenomenal. We also shared a bowl with Mahi Mahi with Blackened season, which tasted great. Prices are alright , service great .

Bidenomics has definitely taken this place over. We ordered the wedge salad to go and waited to open it until we got home. Previously it was cheaper and 1/4 head of iceberg lettuce was more and able to feed 2 adults. Now it's not close to a 1/4 head and the cherry tomatoes were old looking and rotten. It cost me $16.22 We used to do take out all the time and like this place, but maybe not anymore. Update: I called to find out if there was a mistake with the lettuce and rotten tomatoes because that definitely does not seem like this was the norm from our past visits. After speaking with the woman she informed me that she's by herself and she would've rectified it if prior to me posting Yelp. However, we live over a half hour from her location. She made it sound like it's my vault for posting this review. If tomatoes weren't rotten I wouldn't even post this. Do it right the first time I always say and they weren't even busy.

The egg rolls were delicious and a great way to start off my meal. We sat outside and enjoyed the wonderful Caribbean vocalist, Charlie, playing tropical drums. My Happy Hour Sweetwater Mango Kush was refreshing as the breeze kept me cool in this Florida heat. The server was extremely friendly and informative, as this was my first time at Goombay's. Portions are large and I was extremely pleased with my two tacos a la carte. I love heat, but their extra spicy sauce did not pack a punch. So I added some Tabasco sauce to give it that Florida heat, and let me just say, yum yum yum. Skip the fries and try something a bit better. I'll take the hit on that one, but if you're in need of some Caribbean flare with Mexican Asian fusion, sit outside and enjoy the breeze at Goombay's.

I decided to try this place bc they have outside seating. It's seat yourself. There's not much parking. Megan our server was great, friendly & attentive. The manager/ owner came out thanked a few tables for our patience. My son enjoyed his mac n cheese. The eggrolls barely had any seafood, mostly cabbage. I liked the remoulade sauce better. The side of black beans were bland, didn't taste seasoned. My tuna was good, a bit over. The outside area needs cleaning. I most likely won't go back. Spent $48 & I don't feel the food was worth it. Again, Megan was wonderful.

I am a little late in writing this review but this receipt is a good reference for pricing

Pretty good food, very nice owners and any restaurant that allows dogs is an automatic 5 in my book. They let you have your best buddy enjoy a meal with you and they will bring them water. read more

The best fish tacos I've ever had. Not only that but if you go on Tuesdays they're $3.50! I got the Mahi with the corn queso and I also tried the mango salsa as well. If you're not a fan of queso you'll love the mango salsa! Very light but filling. read more

What a find! Amazing service but the food was incredible. Gloria was our server and just the best!!!! Ok, I love fish dip but it better be Smokey and on point - ours was point on, served with small bits of onions, tomatoes and sweet jalapeños - if you like fish dip, you will love theirs. Now on to the fresh bowl, had mine with shrimp and it was incredible. What a small but awesome place to go. We will be back!!!! Score!!!! Cheers to Gloria for making our meal even better. read more

Really good food and service on a Wednesday night. Delicious shrimp and Mahi. Fried shrimp and grilled were both delicious. 16 year old loved his El Diablo sandwich. Conch fritters and plantains both good choices. Good drinks. No complaints. Would come back for sure. read more

Chicken skewers and most food was served cold. Prices were high for amount of food/ drink. Live bands in back parking lot were good (80s and 90s rock). Small Bar with food, not on the beach, nothing special. read more

This place would be so much better if there wait staff had good table service. Every time I go the staff is so impersonal and visit the table at weird times. Inside seems to get better attention than the outside. This is my 6th time here over the last 2 years. Will be my last. There are a plethora of service industry staff in the area, so it must be the hiring manager that likes stuffy staff. Or it's the cliche sat bch cliqueness. Literally just got the check tossed at me with a half smile. 2 kids 1 adult. Basic service. Waitress visited table 3 times. No issues with food or check. Just the consistent attitude here. read more

Cute little place with a large menu and very delicious food. I had a bowl with jerk chicken, Caribbean rice, mango salsa, black beans, and cucumber sauce on the side. Filling and delicious. Military Monday's mean extra savings on an already reasonably priced meal. Indoor and outdoor seating are available. You should give this place a try. read more

Ate here a few weeks ago. They are not very gluten-free friendly. I asked about options and the waitress seemed stumped at first, then gave me a few suggestions. But some of throw suggestions were fried in the same oil as everything else, so clearly would not work. I ended up ordering a pretty plain salad with grilled chicken, that was substandard. The rest of their food might be fine, but if you're looking for gluten free, check other options. read more

Decided to give this place a try and I am SO GLAD I did!! Super friendly service (Hi Karen!) and fabulous FRESH fish. Had the blackened mahi and grilled (huge) shrimp. Highly recommend. If you're into a little kick try the spicy apricot sauce to go along with it. Everyone at the table RAVED about the sweet rice with peas as well as their entrees (crab cakes and bacon wrapped shrimp). My veggie sticks side was so yummy- grilled squash, zucchini, red pepper, red onion and tomatoes! MUCH LUCK to you Mary- thanks for stopping at our table to say hi! read more

This spot is so great. Ever since I came to visit my mother in law this is the spot we would go to. I have yet to be disappointed and I hope I never have to be. The food for me is good. I would get mostly everything on their menu. The empanadas are okay but that's because I'm used to the ones from my country. It does get packed when there is live events but if you can find a seat you won't regret it. Service still comes to you. read more

Sat outside of a moderately busy environment with live music going on inside. Today's special was all day happy hour, but I'm not very interested in alcohol. I ordered the Seafood a la Goombay. The service was quick, polite, and very friendly... The food: I gave it a MEH. It had little flavor and required a dipping sauce or hot sauce to make it palatable. The Mahi was over cooked and dry, and the shrimp were not cleaned very well, but all were edible, and you can tell they were fresh. All in all this is a good average run of the mill kind of seafood place. read more

So we go in wait for service everyone looks over yet we still wait almost 10 minutes. Drinks took almost ten minutes then we get our orders in, almost an hour for food it was just ok nothing to make us want to return but the kicker is the dog in the restaurant, not a service dog but a dog and owner and staff look laugh and with no regard for anything Regards to an animal in the establishment. Sorry to new owners but u now lost us as patrons and the poor family next to us who said the same thing. read more

The food was delicious, and the server was definitely one of the best ones I've had anywhere over the past year, if not the best. Cool atmosphere, but overly relaxed as nobody wears masks including every worker. We came back a 2nd time as we had such a good experience the first time. This time we were greeted by a barking dog. The waitress was not good. Didn't bring us drink menus or could tell us what the happy hour was. During diner we had what believe was friends with the owner bragging about sending his daughter overseas and how's she's now an alcoholic, and he kept cussing up a storm including multiple F-bombs. Certainly not family friendly read more

5-stars for Goombay's! Sweet Thai chili wings, conch fritters, and Intercostal beers were excellent. Our waitress Amanda provided excellent service and got our toddler some off the menu milk. The new owner cares about patron satisfaction and talked about new upgrades for Goombay's on the horizon. If you're looking for a laid back restaurant when you're visiting the beach, check out Goombay's! read more

Excellent service, creative, fresh food with a twist on the classics such as fish tacos, and their famous " skewers." You must taste the coconut rice and peas.... one of a kind! The shrimp in each dish are HUGE! This is more than a drive by joint! From the outside, you would drive by .... but DON'T!! We are so happy we tried Goombay's to start my Hubby's Birthday week! My eyes scanned everyone's plates on our way n and wow! Everything looked amazing! Our dishes were no exception. I first thought I could make a blue cheese wedge at home. Ya I could but would never be as good as their fresh made blue cheese dressing! It's presentation beautiful. My man's fish was huge! and that's not a fish story! I cannot rave enough about how good the fried cheesecake was! Delish! Ask for one of the best waitress I have ever had-Shannon was outstanding! This is a GREAT little place to eat. We ate the Caribbean steak and shrimp bowl and hamburger cooked just perfect for my liking with endless fries. Let me tell you those were undoubtedly the absolutely BEST FF I've ever eaten. They were also cooked to perfection (for me) with tender potato inside, golden brown outside and piping HOT which is hard to come by. We will definitely go back. Danielle was our server and she was AWESOME. Very helpful, friendly and very efficient. She makes everyone feel welcome. THANKS BOOMBAY, for a very enjoyable meal and evening!! read more

Great little spot off the beach. Perfect if you want to enjoy a drink outside with some beachy food. The conch fritters were delicious - highly recommend. Everything came out hot and fresh. The cutest part of our visit was when they brought out a water bowl for the doggie at the table next to us. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu. read more

My personal favorite was the blueberry cobbler crumble with chantilly of which I ate 5, but we'll move quickly past that...sorry not sorry. Honestly, I wish I'd had leftovers for breakfast this morning. The beautiful sustainable bamboo plates and "silverware" were gorgeous and a perfect compliment too and much appreciated by Ainsley. Next, the bar curated and tended by the hostess-with-the-mostest Katie, co-owner of Drifters with husband Chef Danny. Katie put together an array of delicious drink options around certain specifics we'd requested and ensured everyone had their needs anticipated and met instantly. The presentation, decoration and attention to the smallest of details made the event just extra special - fresh flowers in Ainsley's school colors at the bar, gorgeous ice baths for the drinks and beautifully displayed fresh flowers surrounding the food itself, which were like works of art. Visually stunning as well as beautiful to eat and drink. Like I said earlier, they knocked it into another galaxy in every aspect. Lastly, but certainly not least, the service. From start to finish, every single member of the Drifters team made this such an easy and fun experience. The offers of help for anything we might need throughout the process was unexpected and absolutely above and beyond what was required, but we were so very grateful and appreciative of all they did. The team puts their heart, soul and love into their work and it shows in abundance. They did it all with genuine smiles on their faces; each of them happy, calm and confident, no stress, no fuss. It was a pleasure to work with them. We've been regular customers of Drifters the restaurant and now we can say that we love their event catering just as much as we love their restaurant. I'm already thinking about what next event we have coming up...I need that blueberry dessert again. To the Drifters family, thank you from our family to yours for helping us make such great memories that we'll have for years to come. We love you guys. Crispy, flavorful, and a great way to kick off the meal. We also ordered the signature nachos with half pork and half beef. The meats were delicious, but the nachos are served in a bowl, which caused most of the liquid cheese to settle at the bottom. That left quite a few chips dry by the end. I also wish they had been a little more generous with their signature sauces because they're one of the highlights of the menu and I think a bit more of them would have really brought everything together and helped the drier chips. The PB&J BBQ sliders were a total flavor explosion. Such a creative combination, and it absolutely worked! My only suggestion would be a little more sauce and a few more peppers to really let those flavors shine (they were dry in some areas). The prices were fair for the quality of the food, and we really appreciated that they offer a military discount. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal and would likely come back to try some other options. With just a little more generosity on the sauces, this place would be outstanding. If you're looking for something different from the usual beach fare, Tiny Turtle is definitely worth a visit.

Just my two cents. The staff was friendly, service was great, and soda refills appeared before we even had to ask. I also loved the local artwork displayed throughout the restaurant. Every piece has a price tag, so if something catches your eye, you can literally take it home with you. Great food, great service, incredible biscuits, and enough bacon aroma to improve your mood instantly. We'll definitely be back.

Goombay's Beachside - Great Location, Mixed Dining Experience. Our recent visit to Goombay's Beachside in Satellite Beach was a mix of delightful moments and some disappointments. Nestled just across the street from the beach, the restaurant carries a charming ocean vibe, perfectly setting the stage for what you'd expect to be a relaxed beachside meal. The culinary experience had its highs and lows. I opted for the mahi mahi reuben, which was quite flavorful, although the bread was regrettably soggy. The standout, however, were the crispy fries which were perfectly golden and delightfully crunchy, overshadowing even the main courses. My wife went for a basic burger which, while good, didn't leave a lasting impression, though she agreed that the fries were a highlight. While the menu promised a satisfying beach meal, the service unfortunately detracted from our experience. Our server, also doubling as the bartender, seemed overwhelmed, only appearing sporadically to serve our food, and eventually to deliver the bill. This left us without much-needed drink refills, particularly of the sweet tea which would have complemented our meal beautifully. Instead, we found ourselves resorting to the local tap water, which, true to Florida's reputation, tasted just as it smelled--distinctly like tap water. A more attentive service could have significantly enhanced our dining experience, especially on a warm Florida day where staying hydrated is crucial. It's disappointing that what could have been a pleasant meal was marred by inadequate service and the lack of refreshing beverage options. Despite these issues, Goombay's does offer a lovely location and has the potential for a truly enjoyable dining experience. It might be worth a visit on a less busy day, or if improvements in service are made. As a local, I've been to Goombays Beachside numerous times, and I can confidently say that it's one of my favorite spots in town. The vibe is laid-back and friendly, with a fun and colorful Caribbean-style atmosphere that's perfect for a night out with friends or a casual dinner with family.
