Just not the same since it sold. Went a couple months ago got the braised short rib raviolis. Upon cooking them the sides opened up and weee ruined Brought a second package that we didn't use back. The new owner very nicely replaced them. What was surprising was to see them taken out of a commercial box of frozen not store made product. Went today at 1:15 to get some ravioli didn't see any asked and was informed there was no ravioli of any kind. Looked for some fresh pasta none to be seen, asked and was told they were all out. Looking around the cases were mostly empty. Seriously if your name is Go Pasta how in heck do you not have any in the store especially if you aren't even making it on site any longer. Should be able to up your order of pre made frozen pasta. Probably my last trip here based on what I saw today middle of the week just close already. read more

After living in town and trying this spot several times over the last year...I don't really recommend it. The sandwiches have all been delicious, the bread is great. The 2 soups I've had have both been disappointing: the Italian wedding soup was gritty (like the greens weren't cleaned properly), and the "pasta faggioli bianco" had very over-cooked, soggy pasta. Everything is pretty pricy so I just haven't felt there to be value in the cost vs. quality. I think the biggest thing that's irked me is there always seems to be a shortage of food, like they weren't ready for customers or something. Varying reasons have been given for this (busy morning, first day open after being closed for a holiday, etc.). So it's either leave empty handed or one time my husband waited for over a half hour because "the soup was almost ready." I don't know. You'll probably think your food is tasty enough, but for me after these things adding up over the last year, I don't think we'll be back. read more

Stopped here for a slice and to pick up a chicken parm sub for my ride back to cape cod after returning home on the ferry from block island. I'm a foodie and I love unique pizza and a great chicken parm sub. This was by far one of the top 3 best Detroit style pizzas I have ever had and also probably one of the best chicken parm subs I have ever had. The staff was nice and friendly. I just wish they had a table or two that you could eat at but the food is absolutely amazing. If your in the area do yourself a favor and stop in this place is a must try. read more

I ordered food for a party. The tray of chicken was quoted at $75. When I got there the owner asked me if I remembered the quote. I said 70 something. Owner replied, well you don't remember, it's actually $10.00 more. And charged me $85.00. As a business owner myself, I would have explained my mistake and said next time it's $85.00. Hadn't been here for a while and maybe never in the current location next to Ace Hardware. Went with three chicken meals and ate them over three days. Didn't care for any of the three. The chicken in the parmigiana and broccoli and bow-ties tasted salted. Chicken in the parmagiana didn't cut evenly almost like it was mashed together then breaded. Tossed most of it away. read more

Great take out - so easy and really superb. Especially love the Chicken Francaise and Chicken Parmesan. The loaves of bread at the counter are outstanding and perfect sized for dinner. Last visit we saw thick pizza in squares and asked about it - Detroit Pizza we were told, so we added a piece to our order. A quick microwave heating when we got home and we were so surprised. Excellent!!! We will never switch from New York/New Haven style pizza but this makes an excellent lunch with salad or an appetizer. One piece was good for 2 of us. The piece we ordered was covered with pepperoni and sausage - delicious !!! And added to the ease of a quick dinner, 25 minutes in the oven and add a side salad and you have some of the best tasting chicken anywhere at a fantastic price. Portions are great too - 4 nice chicken cutlets and enough sauce- especially with the Francais- smooth and lemony. The new owners have added more variety and I feel have improved the products. John and his staff make food that melts in your mouth! I tried it for the first time when I had a family party for my Mom's 92nd birthday a couple months ago. Well since then I have gone in a bought meals for myself. I have to say that the Eggplant Parmesan is the best eggplant I have ever eaten in my life! It was amazing! I live out of state and wanted to send my brother who just recently had surgery some prepared meals that he could just heat up. I called Go Pasta and spoke to the manager who said they don't preorder, but when I explain that I was calling from out of state he was happy to accommodate me. . I ordered chicken Marsala and eggplant parmesan. My brother said the food was delicious and that there was enough for dinner and lunch the next day. I would definitely recommend Go Pasta. I have never written a review before, however, I was so horrified by the way I was treated by the owner of Go Pasta, in Wakefield, RI, that I feel compelled to share my story... Yesterday I called their restaurant to order a tray of chicken parm for a Father's Day get-together. In retrospect I should not have done business with them right then and there as the gentleman I spoke with, whom I have now come to find out was the owner, was so rude and abrasive. Against my better judgment, I placed the order. Today when I went to pick up the order I was charged $130, almost 4 times what I was told the price was going to be. When I questioned the price the owner came out to "talk" to me. This man was out of control. Screaming at me how any price less than that would be insulting to him. He would not let me get a word in. He continued on about how he had owned this restaurant for 7 years and had grown up in the "North End" (the North End of where, and how is this relevant) and that he "knew the industry." He continued on grabbing examples of prepared chicken parm from their refrigerated section and showing me the prices. He asked me if "I was from around here" I guess questioning if I was familiar with the local "pasta market"?!?! When I asked him to please lower his voice and not speak to me this way in front of my two small children (1 and 2 years old) he continued on. Maybe I heard the price incorrectly on the phone (although $130 do seem awfully expensive for one tray of chicken parm) or maybe there was some form of miscommunication, but the price was not really the issue (as I would have paid for it had this gentleman been even slightly pleasant). The issue was the way this man treated me-shame on you!!!!! Someone did not raise you to be gentleman. I initially tried to make excuses for this man-"maybe he was having a bad day," etc. but when my two year old said to me "mama he was a very bad man," I realized that he did not deserve any excuses. No one should ever be spoken to the way he spoke to me, let alone a woman with two babies in her arms. This is the only review I have ever written for any place, product, etc.-and it's a shame it had to be a negative one. You have certainly lost my family and I as customers and maybe I can spare some of you the hassle of dealing with this man. I do have to add that after my husband had a conversation later in the day with this man, he called to say that I could come back for a free tray of food and that he would have "one of his girls" (the staff) bring it out to my car-no thank you!!! He is a total male chauvinist. Since sharing my story, I have heard of many others who have had similar experiences. I can't speak to the product, but the customer service is enough to make me run in the other direction. read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. The food is good, but the consistency is terrible. I frequent this place often. When I first went here, there was a problem with the dish that I got. I went back and spoke with the owner and everything was fine. Then I started to go back often. The food is good so I go back when I don't want to cook. It is random for what quality of the dish you will get. I get a lasagna one week and then go back a few days later and some of the same lasagna is still in the fridge. When you open the container there is so much moisture in the lasagna it just looks nasty. The salads that I have gotten are sometimes fresh and other times there is nothing more than a bunch of welted lettuce and soggy vegetables in the container. The only thing that seems consistent are the sandwiches and the bread. The sandwiches are tasty because that bread is wonderful. The temperature that the fridges are is just way to cold to be storing food unless you freeze the food. The amount of moisture that the food collects is just insane. It doesn't seem that this place has gotten the ratio of food made to food sold down yet, which is a difficult math problem. But for as long as this place has been in business, I thought they would have figured it out. I will go back to this place because the food is great, when you can get something that hasn't been hanging around the fridge for to long. I do recommend this place, but be warned and be selective about what you get. If there is a date on the container don't believe it. Look at the food and let that be your judge. Once you find the right one you will be pleased because the food here is far better than the majority of over priced crappy Italian places around here. read more

Gourmet, fresh homemade Italian food you can quickly heat and enjoy in the comfort of your own home is a grand slam home run. I had the distinct pleasure of enjoying the Ziti and Chicken Arabiatta, Bowtie Broccoli and Chicken, and Italian Wedding Soup. All dishes were a 10 out of 10 and you get tremendous portions served with a freshly made loaf of authentic Italian Bread. Literally the BEST pasta dish I've had in years, my compliments to the owner John. Do yourself a favor and try them out, this review does no justice to level of service and quality. Best Sandwich on the Planet "The Duke". An incredible combination of Proscuitto, Fresh Mozzarella, Roasted Red Peppers, EVOO, Oregano, and Fresh Basil. But wait . . . The magic is the in house bread that is not overly doughy but has the most amazing crunchy crust that has the "breakaway" with each and every savory bite. I almost didn't get the duke, in favor of my favorite, the Parma. But Johns recommendation of the Duke was the right choice and will now be my all time favorite. Truly a masterpiece in the annals of sandwiches. We have eaten here several times for lunch and the friendly hospitality by John and staff make for a wonderful experience. read more

We had the pleasure of working with John when he catered a 2 day event at our house nearby. John went above and beyond, helping us plan the menu, providing ad hoc recommendations when our guest list changed and most importantly providing delicious, generous servings of egg/potato frittata, chicken arrabbiata and various breads. Go Pasta is wonderful as a take out destination, their servings are perfect to throw in the fridge and reheat. More importantly, their fresh food is even better. John even went as far as to make gluten free and vegetarian versions of Italian classics for our friends and family with dietary needs - the gluten free eggplant was a major hit. When I stopped in this morning for what is becoming my weekly fix of ravioli the owner was stirring his pot of gravy. The gravy tasted just like the gravy my friend's nonna would make on Sundays. For the out of towners or people not lucky enough to have a nonna, gravy is tomato sauce. Years ago I worked in Olneyville and would occasionally stop at Vendor Ravioli. Go Pasta's ravioli is better than the Vendor Ravioli made in the small shop of the old days and far surpasses the new Vendor Ravioli that you find at Belmonts. The bread has a nice hearty crust. I have yet to make it home to Richmond with a full loaf. I rip off a hunk and have it as my reward for driving all the way to Wakefield. read more

An unbelievable find after a day of shopping in Narragansett. We stopped in for a late lunch and met the owner John, as he was making a meatball appetizer. A little convincing and we had a try before it hit the menu. The meatball melted in your mouth and the gravy was perfect. We had a margarita and pepperoni pizza and stuffed ourselves at the bar. I just returned from go pasta. I forgot that they were closed on Mondays and so I was disappointed when I got there. However, the owner, Saw me as I was leaving and opened the side window to the building and asked what I wanted. I told him and he said hold on for a second. I had an appointment in Wakefield this past week. I couldn't get the thoughts of an Italian grinder from Go Pasta off of my mind. When I looked up at the menu I saw The Parma. I decided to try it. A sandwich by another name with the same ingredients has been my choice when we order lunch at work. No comparison! The Parma is my new favorite! Everything was fresh and delicious.
