The cocktails were amazing. Espresso martini and promagranite martini.
Heather C.

I went for the first time and was delicious. Plenty of parking. I did make a reservation and they sat us right away. Nice booth seating. Our waitress Lauren was amazing. The cocktails were fabulous. I got the espresso martini which was delicious. The portions are huge so had some dinner the next day too. I had the chicken parm and instead of pasta I got two of their sides mashed potatoes and asparagus. The chicken parm was excellent. Check their social media on Facebook since they had a deal for January that you got a free shrimp tempura appetizer with entree purchase. It was delicious. We shared the chocolate flourless cake and more desserts I want to try. It was a great night.

My wife and I are becoming bit of regulars at the bar. We feel kind of spoiled by this place, often comparing anywhere else we go to Mariner and wishing we were back there instead. It seems to fly under the radar, being in a plaza and having been around for so long it that I don't think it draws a much of a new crowd. But instead is kept up by a steady and sometimes overwhelming crew of regulars. It's hard to say no when the food is so delicious, consistent, priced decently with near Marchetti's sized portions. Couple that with good/great bartenders, very generous pours and a diverse menu and specials. It might be an older crowd but that says something about what this place is doing. I truly believe that to be successful a restaurant has to have 3 - 4 of these five things: Great Service, Great Food, Reasonable Prices, Strong Drinks & Great Location. Mariner Grille has got at least four of them.

Great big portions, decent prices. Excellent drink menu including unique local hard seltzers and beers. Good service, pretty accommodating. Big spot, good for kids and takes reservations.

Lobster Roll

Have been here many times and always enjoy. We went to grab a bite on 4th of July. Sat at a high top in the bar. We ordered lobster roll, drunken scallops, seared ahi, and seafood casserole. All were delicious and priced fairly. Only reasons for one star off was that it was pretty slow (i assume most people were at the beach or BBQ) and we had two different waiters for our service. The first seemed high and seemed confused for our drink order...2 bloody Marys and 2 Whalers... and the second never brought water even though we asked many times. Went up to the bar to get a water and the bar tender was really busy chatting with a customer. Finally got one water... Usually service is superb so maybe they were just off today. Nothing that would deter us from going back.

This is a great space and time for local food. Staff are always friendly and they deliver high quality and value. They take credit cards but they do have a 3.5% charge versus cash.

Big portions for the price. I had fresh fish which was mild and pleasant. Service, ambience and drink menu (Rhode Island beer and hard seltzer!) are good.

Mariner Grille is always one of our go to spots on this side of the bridge. We are leave full and happy. eave. The menu has an assortment of options and many things can be made gluten free. Recently we came with friends and there was a month long special for a free calamari with any entree purchase. The table sampled 3 different varieties and they all were a big hit. (Unfortunately there were not gluten free). Our server was very friendly and informative. Looking forward to coming back!

Chicken Parmesan with Angel Hair Pasta

Holy cow, the portions here are amazing and the prices are reasonable. All of our orders were huge and delicious. I had the chicken Parmesan with angel hair, so good! My entree will be 4 meals! Our server was great - helpful and outgoing. We sat in the main dining area though I'm told the bar area is really fun.

Scallop with risotto.

In town and had a craving for seafood. In the Mariner plaza in Narragansett, easy parking. We sat at a high top in the bar area and our waiter was also the bartender. He was beyond good, he created the welcome feel. We had seafood scampi that was loaded with clams and big scallops. My wife had risotto with scallops. Almost forgot to mention the appetizer! Coconut shrimp with and orange marmalade sauce. Omg! We don't live close but vowed to make this a trip more regularly.

Blackened tuna salad with goat cheese, candied walnuts and a citrus vinaigrette- took home half for lunch- so good!

This is a great local place in a shopping center with a casual, yet upscale vibe. Our server was attentive and the portions were super generous. The French onion soup had great flavor and the onions were plentiful. Husband had the fisherman's scampi and I had the blackened tuna salad. Both were delicious!

Got the wedge salad to go. It was very sparse not worth $13. Not crazy about the chicken sandwich either.

Upon our 5:30 p.m. arrival, my wife and I were immediately seated in the far corner of the outdoor patio. From the beginning, the host's demeanor came across as cold and dismissive. When she told us to "enjoy," her tone made it clear she didn't mean what she said. When our waitress arrived, she wanted to explain what the daily specials were, but before she began, we politely asked if we could move to another section of the patio so we could sit in the sun. After speaking with the host, she returned with what I can only describe as a smart-ass attitude, saying, "Those tables are for people who actually have reservations." We completely understood if those tables were reserved, but there was absolutely no reason for the condescending attitude. Instead, we were moved to another corner table, and after the host decided to tell us "enjoy" with the same condescending tone. Once we sat down, I asked the waitress if she could explain the daily specials, but then she quickly replied, "now that we're at a different table, the other waitress/waiter will have to do that" since it wasn't her "zone". As we sat there, we couldn't help but notice what appeared to be a noticeable difference in how other guests were treated. The tables that gave off what I would describe as a more "upper class" appearance, well-dressed white guests who appeared more affluent, seemed to receive a warmer welcome and far more attentive service. Whether that was intentional or not, we couldn't shake the feeling that we were viewed differently. I'm white myself, but perhaps my tattoos or the fact that I was dining with my Brazilian wife caused us to be perceived differently. I honestly don't know. What I do know is that we left feeling like we didn't fit the restaurant's idea of its preferred clientele. For example, our waitress never offered us the option of tap or bottled water, while nearby "upper class" tables were given that choice. Around 6:10 p.m., we ordered appetizers, which took roughly 20 minutes to arrive, while tables seated after us were already receiving their food. We then placed our entrée orders and waited... and waited... and waited. In addition, we found a hair in the salad that we ordered, and when we brought it up to the waitress, her only answer was "that's impossible, everyone in the kitchen wears hairnets... At approximately 6:40 p.m., the hostess came to our table and explained there had been a "mix-up" because we had switched tables, causing our entrée order to be delayed. That explanation made very little sense. How does simply switching tables result in an order being delayed by that much? It pointed to a serious lack of communication between the front of the house and the kitchen. By approximately 6:50 p.m., I believe a manager came to our table and asked if there was anything he could do. At that point, I bluntly asked for the check because waiting well over an hour for our food was simply unacceptable. Ironically, our entrées finally arrived around 7:00 p.m., but by then we had completely lost our appetite. I sent the food back and again requested the check. Even then, it still took another 10 minutes to receive it. To the hostess's credit, she apologized, and I told her I appreciated the apology. However, I also explained that this restaurant clearly has a major communication problem. More importantly, the dismissive attitude we experienced from the moment we walked in set the tone for the entire evening and left us feeling unwelcome. In a nutshell: We waited an hour and a half for our food we never received, we were mistreated, felt discriminated, and there were still PLENTY of open tables in the patio facing the sun. This was our first visit to Narragansett, and unfortunately it was not the welcome we expected. I didn't even bother asking if the restaurant offered a military discount because, by that point, I already felt like we didn't belong. We will NEVER return.

We wandered outside looking for food and stumbled across Monahan's Clam Shack. The line was incredibly long, so we headed back to our room and placed a to go order instead. Even from the outside, the laid back atmosphere and unbeatable ocean view made it easy to see why it's so popular. We ordered the lobster rolls, stuffed quahogs, clam chowder, and coconut shrimp. The standout was definitely the stuffed quahogs, they were absolutely packed with flavor and easily the best part of the meal. The lobster rolls were very generously portioned, which was appreciated, but overall the rest of the food was a bit on the bland side for our taste. The staff was friendly and fun, and the portions were great. If you've spent all day at the beach and want a casual meal with an incredible view of the waves, this is a great spot. It's not fine dining, nor does it try to be, but it's a fun, relaxed place to enjoy a hearty seafood meal.

There were an assortment of passed hors d'oeuvres which included lobster grilled cheese lobster triangles...these were indescribably delicious. Everyone was oohing and aahing over these. I also loved the smoked salmon on toast and the small cups of really tasty clam chowder. All the appetizers were incredibly delicious although I would say the lobster grilled cheese was the biggest hit. All of the staff were polite and friendly. After the appetizer round, the lobster rolls came out and they were simply spectacular. They were true New England lobster rolls on toasted square edged (this is key) frankfurter buns, and absolutely stuffed with chunks of delicious lobster meat that had been lightly dressed with mayo. Those rolls were out of this world, deliciously prepared and very generously filled with sweet lobster meat. They also served fabulous fish tacos. For the non-seafood eaters of which there were none at this party, they served a pulled pork taco which was spicy and delicious. The portions were generous and the food just kept on coming out. While there was plenty of additional food at this party from other vendors as well as some homemade additions, Shuckin' Truck was my favorite part of the overall feast. Great job! I would not hesitate to hire them for a party or to seek out the food truck wherever it was parked!
