Finally decided to dine here. We have passed by many times, and today we had a reservation for 6 pm in late July. It is a family run restaurant in operation for 20 years. Nothing fancy inside or out, but who cares when the food served and service provided are outstanding. FIVE Stars does not fairly measure our level of satisfaction with our dining experience from food to service to cost. Warm crusty bread loaf with EVVO Dip was brought to table right away. The dip was the most flavorful I have had in a restaurant. Orders included: Blue Mussels Appetizer in a Gorgonzola broth with onions, a special. (Large quantity $13.) Amazing! Seafood Risotto -- Outstanding! Perfectly cooked rice base with lobster, scallops and shrimp. Seasoned skillfully. Filet Mignon -- with a blue cheese sauce was tender and flavorful. Lazyman Lobster -- Seafood stuffed (1 1/4 pound) was my selection. Surprised the crumb topping enhanced the rich buttery seafood. I usually toss it aside. Would order again! (Only $34.99) The sides were also very good: Smashed garlic mashed Homemade warm golden hued Kettle Chips Al dente Broccoli Medley of seasonal vegetables Only one exception: A side order of French Fries was not appetizing. It tasted greasy and was over salted. Fries were on thin side and stuck together. Overall, food exceeded our expectations, and we are eager to return. We are interested in trying one or more of their FOUR Calamari Apps. I am intrigued by the Thai style one with a peanut sauce. They have a Lounge Menu and a Dining Room menu with creative seafood and steak options. We believe Mariners is far superior to nearby George's Restaurant in Galilee in food prep, service, and cost. read more

Very nice dinner at Mariner Grille last night. The restaurant was nothing fancy, inside or out, but the food was tasty & the prices were reasonable. There is ample parking around the restaurant, which is located in a plaza. We asked for a table rather than a booth & were accommodated. I ordered a glass of Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling & my friend an Aperol Spritz. Our pleasant young waitress had no knowledge of the alcoholic beverage menu, explaining that she wasn't old enough to drink. We literally had to point it out on the menu so she could copy it to her order pad. The wine pour was generous. We were served a complimentary loaf of bread warm from the oven with an olive oil dip. Delicious! For our mains, I ordered the broiled sea scallops ($26), one of their nightly specials. I chose rice as one of my sides & asked if they could steam some broccoli for the other, which they did. My friend ordered the Garlic Parmesan Mushroom Chicken ($20) with angel hair pasta. Both were large servings & very good. We ordered a piece of their chocolate cake to share for dessert, which the restaurant generously comped as it was my friend's birthday. The entire bill came to just under $72 before tip. Unfortunately, there is a 3.5% upcharge if you use a credit card, a practice I truly dislike. read more

3.5 out of 5 so I will round up to four. I went here today with my husband, parents, and aunt, she had made a reservation. We split the stuffies as an appetizer and also the stuffed mushrooms. My aunt commented that both had too many breadcrumbs in it and I agree. We all got different meals, three of us got seafood dishes and my mom and I both got the chicken piccata. The portion was definitely huge, I'm a big fan of chicken piccata normally and I thought this was okay. I do have a ton of pasta left over, though. My husband got the seafood casserole and I think overall enjoyed it. For his sides he got the mixed veggies and the onion rings, and I think the onion rings were my favorite part of the entire meal, they came in a huge basket and they were delicious and perfectly fried. Waitservice was friendly and our group drink a lot of water so she ended up bringing carafes for us which was nice. It was a little hot in the area we were sitting, also, but to be fair it was about 92 to 95° out today, which is atypical for Rhode Island. They had a box AC unit but you could tell it was working hard to keep up. Overall I would maybe come back here again when in the area but I would probably order a sandwich or something different. read more

I went for the first time and was delicious. Plenty of parking. I did make a reservation and they sat us right away. Nice booth seating. Our waitress Lauren was amazing. The cocktails were fabulous. I got the espresso martini which was delicious. The portions are huge so had some dinner the next day too. I had the chicken parm and instead of pasta I got two of their sides mashed potatoes and asparagus. The chicken parm was excellent. Check their social media on Facebook since they had a deal for January that you got a free shrimp tempura appetizer with entree purchase. It was delicious. We shared the chocolate flourless cake and more desserts I want to try. It was a great night. read more

Have been here many times and always enjoy. We went to grab a bite on 4th of July. Sat at a high top in the bar. We ordered lobster roll, drunken scallops, seared ahi, and seafood casserole. All were delicious and priced fairly. Only reasons for one star off was that it was pretty slow (i assume most people were at the beach or BBQ) and we had two different waiters for our service. The first seemed high and seemed confused for our drink order...2 bloody Marys and 2 Whalers... and the second never brought water even though we asked many times. Went up to the bar to get a water and the bar tender was really busy chatting with a customer. Finally got one water... Usually service is superb so maybe they were just off today. Nothing that would deter us from going back. read more

Mariner Grille is always one of our go to spots on this side of the bridge. We are leave full and happy. eave. The menu has an assortment of options and many things can be made gluten free. Recently we came with friends and there was a month long special for a free calamari with any entree purchase. The table sampled 3 different varieties and they all were a big hit. In the mood for a burger and fries for lunch and thought why not try the "El Diablo" burger at Mariner, reasoning that a self-described "steak and seafood" restaurant would do a good burger. The menu describes it as: El Diablo Burger $14.50 Roasted Poblano Peppers, fried Onions, Cheddar Jack Cheese, Sriracha-Mayo, Lettuce & Tomato I asked for mine medium rare, but it came medium and without the Poblano peppers. The burger itself was good I could have lived with those shortcomings were it not for the french fries: abundant, but greasy and soft, as if they'd been cooked in an underheated fry-o-later. Thought I'd cut the grease with some A-1, but the waitress spaced on my request for A-1 and a forgot a separate request for a refill on my soft drink. Was I being "burger-shamed"? My wife and I are becoming bit of regulars at the bar. We feel kind of spoiled by this place, often comparing anywhere else we go to Mariner and wishing we were back there instead. It seems to fly under the radar, being in a plaza and having been around for so long it that I don't think it draws a much of a new crowd. But instead is kept up by a steady and sometimes overwhelming crew of regulars. It's hard to say no when the food is so delicious, consistent, priced decently with near Marchetti's sized portions. Couple that with good/great bartenders, very generous pours and a diverse menu and specials. It might be an older crowd but that says something about what this place is doing. I truly believe that to be successful a restaurant has to have 3 - 4 of these five things: Great Service, Great Food, Reasonable Prices, Strong Drinks & Great Location. My friend and I took a little day trip to a garden center and happened upon the Mariner Grill. It had just opened for the day and we opted to eat in the bar. We were greeted by the awesome and friendly bar tender. He took our drink order and handed us the menus. We took his advice and waited a few extra minutes for the specials menu to come out. I am so sorry that I neglected to take photos of the amazing food. Next time. Met a relative that I haven't seen in years here for dinner. The restaurant is essentially in a strip mall - so no lovely view of the sea. However, with the delicious food, they more than make up for it. The interior of the restaurant is nice - clean & tastefully decorated. Drinks were good. Food - so good & and extremely large portions. The price is VERY reasonable too. First - some bread/oil. I had salmon with mango salsa. Side of seasonal veggies & the lemon risotto (get that if you like risotto!). My husband had fish & chips - 2 large pieces, fries & Cole slaw -very good ($18). Been a frequent customer at Mariner but have to admit they are slipping in the quality of food they serve. Recent visits have been disappointing. The French Dip use to be my hot to but the last two times I ordered it was mostly grizzle and over cooked along with greasy au jus. The chicken fingers always fresh and tender now tough and actually taste like they've been recooked. Not sure what's going on but somebody needs to pay more attention read more

Holy cow, the portions here are amazing and the prices are reasonable. All of our orders were huge and delicious. I had the chicken Parmesan with angel hair, so good! My entree will be 4 meals! The service and the food are excellent! The best onion soup I have had and I order it wherever we go that has it as on the menu. In town and had a craving for seafood. In the Mariner plaza in Narragansett, easy parking. We sat at a high top in the bar area and our waiter was also the bartender. He was beyond good, he created the welcome feel. We had seafood scampi that was loaded with clams and big scallops. My wife had risotto with scallops. Almost forgot to mention the appetizer! Mariner Grille is our go-to place in town. We always sit at the bar (friendly bartenders) and order drinks (really well made big drinks) and order food from the bar menu (lots of cheap eats that are really delicious and well made) -- what's not to like? The people are friendly and loud and they often have live music and a big crowd of regulars in addition to visitors. read more

9/20/25 I used to love this restaurant. Marinara sauce was dressed up ketchup. Our waiter ignored us while he chatting it up with friends for 20 minutes. Not sure why it gets so loud. The town sewer treatment plant odor wafts over. read more

Dinner with the girls tonight at the Mariner Grille in Narragansett! Of course we had drinks and appetizers, then came dinner. There was no room for anything else!! Our server was great and available to us. The place is decent sized, and there was a separate space with a bar area. We got Thai calamari and coconut shrimp. Both were very good; the calamari was super tender and not chewy. The coconut shrimp was good, too, but I felt it was a bit over fried. The drinks were just as tasty. One friend had the mussels appetizer for her meal- it was huge! Another friend had sea scallops and chose lemon basil risotto and french fries as her sides. I had a lobster roll with a ton of hand cut fries. It was a cold lobster roll, and it was delicious! The roll was perfectly toasted. It was very busy, and I would say you definitely need reservations on the weekends. There are a couple other restaurants in the plaza , so parking could be tricky even though it's a pretty big lot. There were drinks specials and dinner specials, along with the regular menu. Definitely worth a try!! read more

We were there for a late lunch on a Saturday. The bar was busy, but it was nice and quiet in the dining room. We had fantastic service and the food was amazing! DH had the fish tacos for an appetizer and for his entree he had seafood risotto (which was served with plenty of seafood). It was creamy and delicious and a more than a generous portion. I had a cup of clam chowder and the lunch special, Orange Rosemary Salmon. The salmon was served with smashed potatoes and grilled asparagus and was cooked to perfection.
