Finally got to eat here! My friend and I had to wait a short bit for a table but nothing too crazy. Our server was great, she took great care of us. I asked if I could try an orange wine and no hesitation brought me over a sample. My friend and I split the tofu bahn mi and vegan hot dog. French fries were crispy and the sandwiches were good. My friend and I enjoyed our rose wine too (did not vibe which the orange wine!) Service was good and quick and I loved all of their plates and cups too!!

Finally got around to trying Purslane and it lived up to the hype. They don't take reservations for parties smaller than 6, so that can certainly be a challenge. We ended up getting an outdoor table and luckily avoided any inclement weather. Our server was nice although she made a mistake and overcharged us for a dish they were sold out of (forgot to take it off the bill) but we were able to resolve it after the fact (had already paid the bill before realizing the error). The food was absolutely fantastic! I can see why it's such a popular spot. Everything we tried was well executed and creative. Tons of flavor in every bite. I definitely plan to return.

Let me lead with the only things we had for constructive feedback was that we wished the sandwich bun was a little larger to accommodate the chicken and toppings. WOULD NOT advocate for changing those sizes as those were perfect (please, just tweak the bun). We found Purslane to be, probably, our new favorite restaurant in Wakefield! The staff were very friends and accommodating. The drinks were creative and fun, and the food was overall unique, flavored well, and delicious. The environment is fun to sit in and watch. Whether inside the renovated, garage vibe with eclectic pieces hanging on the walls or people watching from the outside patio, a good spot to enjoy food and drink. I would say too, space can be tight, and wouldnt suggest it as a good option for large parties.

I went to Purslane on Mother's Day and they were slammed. The bartenders/servers were 100% overrun so service was not great. But I definitely chalk that up to them just being busier than they thought they would be. I was there around 3pm, so definitely took advantage of some of their "happy hour" specials. They have some great options including a fries and martini combo and 1/2 priced oysters. The kimchi mignonette they make is delicious, highly recommend. I also went with some tasty fries and their simple side salad. All delicious. The interior is so cute, with plants and decor all over. Tons of outdoor seating as well. I look forward to returning again when it's a bit less busy or at least more staff coverage.

Been on my list for a while. I woke up salivating from the garlic focaccia in dukkah spice and the most amazing olive oil. Loved my drink, Jungle Bird-so much so I had 3. Ordered the Steak Frites-loved the au poirve sauce-the cut of meat (hanger) was not my favorite but the flavors were there. Loved the friendly staff!

This place feels like going to your friends for dinner. The food is always quality specials depending on what local farmers bring by and they serve it til it runs out. Craft cocktails but the food is also crafted so perfectly. Instead of a huge menu of things done well they have a smaller menu of things done spectacularly. The place is always so warm and cozy with the natural light and plants galore. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Everyone needs to try Purslane - i promise it won't be your only visit.

Phenomenal dinner experience at Purslane on a Saturday evening! My husband and I were visiting the area for a night and decided to have dinner here, and we're so glad that we did. The ambiance is beautiful, so chic and elegant while being filled with plants and antiques and cozy details. Service was incredibly friendly and attentive, and the FOOD! We enjoyed the smoked bluefish dip and some fresh oysters as appetizers, and for our mains, I tried the sausage banh mi and my husband tried the labneh, poached eggs, and curried vegetables (we also split a side of fries). Everything was so flavorful and fresh, we enjoyed every bite. The cocktails are also very fun! I tried the Pirate Vibes (a take on a tiki drink), and my husband had a Tamarind Sour. Both were unique and delicious. We left with very happy stomachs, and should we ever find ourselves nearby again, we will 100% return!

I love this place. I've only been here once so far but after hearing some friends rave about it, we finally stopped in. This is a small spot with only a few tables. The vibe is super cute and cozy and the food is delicious. The chicken sandwich is the best around. They've got a good selection of beers and their spicy margarita is great!

Everything was unique and delicious!! Bartender was friendly and accommodating! Will definitely go back!

My husband and I were in Wakefield and came across Purslane Eatery. According to the website, the creators of ButterHead food truck created Purslane Eatery. The food truck is parked out back and also serves food. There is a parking lot to the back for customers. We walked in and were seated at a table near the window. There are a few tables inside great for small or bigger groups and bar seating too. There is a lot of natural lighting and nice plants. We started with the Jungle Bird and Kentucky buck cocktails. The Jungle Bird has Jamaican Dark Rum, Campari, and Pineapple. The Kentucky buck was one of the specials for the Kentucky Derby. It had strawberry, lemonade, and Bourbon. Both of the drinks were very good. We had a lil' Rhody Stuffy that had Clams/Lemon/Ritz/Old Bay/Chorizo/Peppers/Onion/Garlic. This was a great appetizer. For entrees, we had the Banh Mi that had Pork sausage/cilantro/daikon/carrot/garlic aioli/sriracha, Kimchi Dog that had Saugy Hot Dog/Martins Roll/Chi Kitchen Kimchi/Garlic Aioli/Scallions, and large fries with ketchup. I've had come across Chi Kitchen Kimchi before in Farm Fresh RI and purchased a bottle of kimchi from them. It was a pleasant surprise to see them on the menu. The food had really good flavor and tasted delicious. It was very filling. We were able to see some sneak peaks of our food being prepared and cooked at the ButterHead food truck and then brought to Purslane by the waitress. Service was wonderful and friendly. I would love to come back to Purslane Eatery.

From a faraway place where a majority of the population would prefer…read moreto have everyone who speaks Spanish (that they don't personally know) thrown into concentration camps simply for existing, so the choices of this style of food there are thin, at best. There are one or two restaurants that are passable for the area and would probably be a solid 3-3.5 out of 5. This place is a 5 out of 5. This place could be a 6 out of 5 compared to my local restaurants. And believe me, I took nearly two years of Spanish in high school, so I know a thing or two about a thing or two. I ordered fish tacos and my wife ordered the enchiladas verde (green) as takeout. When I got to the restaurant, I was greeted by three (tres) lads whereby one of them promptly handed me my order. When I pulled the food out of the bag back at the hotel, I was greeted with an absolute masterpiece of culinary art, the fish tacos. The red cabbage slaw covering the tacos, mixed with the sauce was beautiful (bonita) and vibrant. The enchiladas verde looked just as good, but were less vibrant in presentation. It seemed like the chefs cared about the product they were serving to their customers. The rice that came with the enchiladas had a great consistency and not dry at all - I can't stand dry rice. My wife said the enchiladas themselves were flavorful and seasoned very well and not the "suburban white lady" kind of seasoning. However, she doesn't write the reviews - I do - so I will talk about the fish tacos. There were three of them and I got them made with the corn tortillas (tortillas). Any fish taco I have ever had has always been small nuggets of fish smattered through the taco. These bad boys were absolute units where the entire bottom of the taco was one large fried piece of haddock, covered in a somewhat tangy sauce, and topped with red cabbage. The sauce and red cabbage made for a bit of a messy meal, so be prepared to get your hands dirty if you order this. I would not recommend getting these (or the enchiladas) if you had to drive down US Route 1 at the apparent local speed limit of 75 miles per hour and expected to just chow on some tacos while doing so. By the way,, what's with that, RI drivers? It's not the Autobahn. I had a RideOn bus 5 ft from my bumper while doing 70 on there yesterday. Calm down (or should I say 'clam down', amirite?). Anyway, this food was very good and next time I am in town, I would like to go there and sit down to eat while trying to ignore the fact that half the people around me here sound like Peter Griffin.

The drinks were good (except the waiter told my partner that the drink he asked about wasn't sweet and it was VERY sweet) but that may have been a language barrier so no worries. The appetizers were GOOD -- we had the flautas (delicious) and the street corn (yummy and served in a way that's easy to share). But the main dishes were pretty BAD - two of us had barbacoa -- which came out with such a salty sauce that they were literally unedible. We asked the manager and waiter for something else and ordered Carne Asada which was like shoe leather. We both left most of it on the plate and the manager and the waiter completely ignored us. Sad, as I have had good things there. Maybe once the tourists leave it will be good again but doubt that we will be back.

I remember there being a patio overlooking the ocean, giving incredible views while eating dinner. That part has not changed. We got a table partly shaded, partly sunny. To start, we ordered the Firefly Mule ($15.00) which had Velo Butterfly Vodka, Guava Puree, Lime Juice, Ginger Beer. The first sip was good, but it somehow got progressively worse. I will say the guava puree was delicious, I wish there was more of it. We shared 4 cocktail shrimp and they were a bit firmer/dense, so maybe slightly overcooked. We ordered a Lychee Martini ($15.00) which has Grey Goose Vodka, Lychee Juice, Lemon, Simple Syrup Joto 'The Blue One' Junmai Nigori Sake. The start was okay, but the ending was terrible, almost like sipping rubbing alcohol. In hindsight, we would've swapped grey goose for a better vodka. We did ask for more simple syrup to try to balance out the bitterness but there was no remedy. For our entrees, we had the Linguine & Clams ($29.00) with Native little neck clams, fresh herbs, garlic white wine butter sauce and the Sunset Farm Burger ($24.00) 1/2 local ground beef, 1/2 ground bacon, crispy onion strings, arugula, cheddar, garlic aioli & sunny side up farm egg, brioche bun. I did upgrade my fries to truffle your fries for +$3.00 and it was the best decision I made. The plates looked spectacular. The burger patty didn't look too impressive, but everything on the burger all together looked amazing. The egg was cooked to perfection, the bun was slightly grilled, the cheese was melted well, and the arugula looked fresh. I wish it did come with more crispy onions and more garlic aioli. I think tomato would've gone well too. I could actually taste the bacon in the patty, but I wish it were in the form of crispy strips instead for a saltier finish. The fries were crispy, packed with truffle oil and parmesan cheese, and crispy; no complaints. The linguine and clams was decent. I am not the biggest fan of clams but these tasted fresh. The garlic white wine butter sauce was simple, good, and taste just as the name implies - a combination of all three ingredients. Our waiter was good to us; very charismatic and attentive.
