The go to spot for your coffee and killer eats! its just off the 5 so getting here is easy.... the coffee i had was the jolter of the menu and it was for a coffee-holic like me a feeling of a buzz that only caffeine virgins get...it took me back to those days aaaaw.... strong, robust, smooth and well balanced....it got me through the rich macaroon i picked out for it.. its a little shop but he comfort level is ample. we were greeted and helped right away by very friendly staff and suggested items for us as well. i like to ask what they recommend. got our java and eats and sat outside and chilled on one of the few tables outside. this place is tucked away in the middle of a shopping strip so finding it can be tough if your looking from the street. worth the time and effort to stop in and become familiar with top quality drinks and food that aren't to be found in the global giants that serve coffee.. i ALWAYS look out for the smaller coffee shops in all the areas i visit on vacation or just cruising around. We yelped Gordy's and are very happy with our visit. pros: great coffee and food, friendly staff and helpful cons: might be a bit tough to spot the location from the street. read more

I come to Gordy's at least once a week since it is right by my work. They have delicious chocolate chip macaroons and cookies if you're feeling decadent. Most of the time, I go for one of their muffins, like the plonk or the durfey. All of their muffins taste great and make for a great mid-day snack. The service here is always excellent too. Can't get enough! Since I discovered Gordy's several months back, I have become a regular afternoon visitor with my office just up the street. Will sometimes treat myself to a delicious monkey bar with my regular afternoon espresso and sit for a few minutes just to enjoy the British pop decor. Prices are extremely reasonable as well. Definitely more of a drop in and out place but worth patronizing. read more

went here on a trip to LA from SD based on the reviews on Yelp. I got a mocha and a variety of treats. The meat pie was really good. Scones were above average but too much like a biscuit. Don't get the captain crunch treat. Not very good. I would go again if I was in the area. read more

This place looks unassuming from the outside, and I actually turned my nose up at it the first time I passed by. It's not that I'm a coffee or baked goods snob; I'm just on a budget, and I dislike spending money on something that doesn't look like it will rock my socks. However, I really needed to feel like I wasn't on yet another wedding-related errand today (and they never end, guys). So I turned to Yelp, which told me that there was a good coffee shop nearby. For some reason, I was expecting to see another shop, but nope, it was this one, haha. It was in the middle of the day, and in 5 minutes, 3 new customers (plus me) walked into the shop, 2 of whom seemed like regulars. One of them saw that I'd never been, and the regulars both chimed in on the baked goods to me; thanks, guys! After I ordered, one of them also told me that I should eat them in a specific order, since some of these things are apparently pretty filling. Then he was nice enough to open the door for me as I was juggling my purchases. Friendly people are a good reason to come back here. I'm not one to knock chains like Starbucks or whatever, but I will say that I can't remember the last time a random person engaged in conversation with a total stranger, etc., at Starbucks (hypocritically, I am quiet and therefore also one of those people who doesn't generally converse, haha). I've only gotten through the raspberry R bar, and it's pretty good. It was nowhere near as sweet as I thought it would be (a good thing!), and it tastes like it should be relatively healthy, in that the texture suggests that there are oats or something in it. It also rendered lunch unnecessary for me. I also got a pumpkin muffin, an oatmeal raisin cookie, and a white mocha. It's a bit expensive, as my purchases came to about $13, but hey, it accomplished what I wanted it to. read more

Gordy's blew away my expectations! Nothing fancy on the outside, but when I stepped in it was an awesome, eclectic pop art infused, groovy concert poster riddled coffee shop/bakery. I'm positive I'll be back to enjoy good grinds and great variety of pastries and scones. read more

Tucked away in the back of a boring shopping mall, this little gem surprised me with their locally roasted coffee (La Costa Roasting) and yummy unique treats. I've only been a couple of times, but the coffee is delish. I tried a bacon cheddar scone a few weeks ago and it was ok. I love the concept and she even warmed it up for me. I guess I don't like scones. I think I would have been happier with a meat pie (mmm empanadas). read more

I'm so glad I found this place. Great customer service they are very nice. I drink coffee everyday and when I go to Starbucks, every day my coffee r tastes different which I don't like. I always get the cappuccino here and it's so good. I haven't tried their baked items but their coffee is amazing. They also have stamp card. I think I'm gonna be going there everyday now! I have frequenting this bakery and coffee shop for a few years now. They are a very friendly and customer service orientated...they feel local and are not a chain. There are plenty of goodies to try for return visits and a coffee purchase loyalty card. My favorites are the sausage rolls and meat pies......I wish Gordy would produce a family sized meat pie? Everything is handmade and baked onsite so he may not have the time......anyway I highly recommend a visit. read more

This bakery is conveniently located right by the highway. They have a variety of treats to fulfill anyone's needs. There plonks and bars are like crack. I like the raspberry bar the best. It has a buttery goodness to it that's not too sweet. They have good coffee and a fun vibe with the posters on the walls. Heard about Gordy's frm running friends..heard a rumor he had the old school PB bars. YUP and they were great! Got an assorted box of goodies (for my kids :) ) and it was only 13.50. Bargain! The shortbread was probably the best I have ever had...and I have had a lot of shortbread...which is why I run! Loved everything..I will be back!!! read more
