This is a two-part review, because the jewelry receives 4 stars, but the store's availability and communication receives 2 stars Jewelry, 4 Stars: In terms of product, Gorjana makes decent inexpensive jewelry that will hold up against discoloring for a reasonable amount of time. And they've started to make affordable higher quality jewelry with gold, which is quite simple and pretty in their style. Store Availability and Communication, 2 Stars: It is graduation season and after doing a good amount of research online my significant other and I decided to pick up a 14 karat gold and opal necklace at Gorjana for our graduates' gift. We planned a visit to Laguna Beach and store hours were listed until 9 PM all of the major days of the week. We checked multiple sites and those were the hours. However, we arrived just before 6 PM in a Tuesday and the store had obviously been closed for an extended period of time. Signboard in, lights off, no notes on return, no clients, waiting, no one in the store, signs of life off. it is safe to assume that all posted. Ours are wrong. We were now late on getting our graduates gift. Very disappointing and easily fixed via better communication and updates. read more

Terrible sales person, that brunette saleswoman or person just had bad vibes toward us. I was shopping with my cousins and we realized quickly they didn't greet us but the other people (I'm half asian) who were white and dressed nicer than us (i didn't dress up that day, im local and don't need to be flashy all the time) they didn't ask /offer any help to us but offered help to the other white customers. Then my cousin saw the 2 saleswoman look at each other and shook their heads at us in disgust. If my cousin informed me before instead of after we left the store, i would have not purchased anything. Those 2 saleswoman were not a good representation for this business. I love gorjana and most locations but this location specifically was just terrible. UPDATE - I am writing this update based on a fluke encounter I had with OLIVIA. Yesterday, I was on my way out and the clasp on my Gorjana necklace wasn't working. I quickly decided to pop it in my bag and after my appointment in the South Bay see if there was a location nearby to exchange the necklace. Turns out there was a location right next door to where my appointment was, and what I did not know is that it was opening weekend. I walked in, everyone said hello, then after a few minutes Olivia approached me and asked if I needed help. I explained the issue with the necklace, she examined it, agreed the clasp was malfunctioning and asked if I wanted an exchange or return. I asked for an exchange; she pulled a necklace off the display, checked the clasp, and with no fuss took the old necklace back and handed me the new one. I was so pleased with the service, I excitedly thanked her and started to tell her about my experience at the Long Beach store, well before I could finish, she recognized me and admitted to being the one that helped me with my return that day. At first, I was taken back, then Olivia proceeded to express her heartfelt apologies about what had happened, and that I walked away having to carry that experience with me. She explained her side of the story - which I accepted - and her sincerity really touched me. It is so rare that we get to have these follow up discussions, and that the stars align for her and me to be at the MB store that day is quite fascinating. I am so glad we were able to chat, and I think we both walked away feeling better. I am not revising my rating because there were still 3 other associates involved, and I know nothing of how they felt about that day. But I feel it necessary that Olivia get the credit she deserves, because she could have easily not identified herself and avoided that conversation all together. Kudos to you Olivia!! read more

Honestly, one of the best customer service focused environments that I have ever shopped. I was greeted immediately when I walked in by Caroline and then assisted at different points by Taylor and Claire. They were so sweet, welcoming, friendly and attentive - no one was disingenuous, overbearing or pushy. They allowed me to try on everything that I wanted to, at my own pace, which I really appreciated. I had the intention of getting a pair of earrings and a necklace, but ended up getting much more than that. I also came back the next day and was treated in the same friendly manner as the day before. I work in luxury retail management and I would happily hire any of these lovely ladies to work with me. However, at this location the sales associate didn't even greet nor even look me in the eye while I was browsing in their store. She helped several other people and never once even acknowledged me. I felt as if she didn't even care that I was in the store. They really need HR training. Went here today to see the original store and hopefully buy something from the summer collection. Called the day before to check what time the store opened. Arrived at 12:01 pm after having breakfast. Doors were locked and after we waited for a bit the girl put up two fingers. Not sure what that meant. The sign outside had the COVID-19 requirements before entering. Finally she let us in. The part about the mask said recommend not required. Even though we were going to put on our mask the sales lady rudely told me to put on mask. She was standing there unfriendly and watched us the whole time. Very uncomfortable so we left. My friends dragged me in here a few years back. One had seen it on the Real Housewives of OC or something. I'm not a huge jewelry person, simple, understated and pretty much ALWAYS silver. (Gold clashes with my skin tone). Kicking around the store and the gemstone bracelets caught my attention. The colors were amazing and the meanings behind them and what they brought you were irresistible. I was only going to buy one. I bought three and immediately fell in love with them. Went home and over the next few weeks I bought 7 more! I simply love them to the point that they are a staple in my everyday look. I never go without them and get so many compliments! I had to give a shout-out to Yasmeen and Sydney at this location. Yasmeen, especially, is SUPER-empathetic and kind and SO helpful! I purchased a LOT of jewelry @ gorjana in Fashion Island for a vacation. When I got home, for reasons related to Covid, I didn't return the items I ended up not using, immediately. When Day 30 hit on Sunday this past weekend, (last day to return), I had gotten food poisoning 2 nights earlier and was in bed all day. My fiance called and asked if I could return 1 day later, and they said yes, and I went on Monday. When I went to Fashion Island Monday, the store was closed early, due to the fires. I called Laguna and talked to Syndey and she said she understood and she'd help me in case I went back to Fashion Island on Tues, and they wouldn't help me. On Tuesday I went back to FI, to return the items. The girl who helped me, told me she had to get manager approval to do the return. She called the manager, who said that she needed Director approval, but the Director could not be reached. I stood there, super-frustrated. I wasn't sure what to do....come back again on Day 3?! Ugh. I stormed out of the store, angry. I immediately called Laguna and asked for Sydney. Sydney wasn't in but Yasmeen answered. I was so lucky she did. I explained the situation from start to finish. She was very empathetic and understanding. She said she'd help me. She told me I could return at Irvine Spectrum so I left Fashion Island and drove to Irvine Spectrum. On the way, Yasmeen got the approval I needed to return the items. If it was not for her, I would have ended-up with no plan and not sure what I would have done to get the return processed. It was a LOT of effort, but I am glad Yasmeen was there to assist me in a professional and compassionate way! read more

I had purchased 3 the $38 power gemstone bracelets from Nordstrom before adding more to my b-day wish list. Now I own 5 of these bracelets and I've had to return a total of 2 with a 3rd return pending. I returned the first one ($38) due to the string/thread breaking in half. I went to the Gorjana store in Laguna Beach and the first exchange went fairly well. The employee was friendly, helpful, apologized, and allowed me to exchange it for one just like it. Ok...all is well and I walk out happy. Two days later I realized that the another one of the ($38) ones was not holding it's size adjustment and became more and more loose throughout the day. A week later, I returned to the store, saw the same employee and expressed my concern with the loose fitting gold accent bar. Long story short, she pulled approximately 7-10 of the exact same bracelets from the back and agreed with me that the gold accent bars are strong on some and very weak/loose on others. After trying at least 20 different ones, I thought I found one that would suffice as an exchange. TODAY I woke up ready to add my power gemstone lolite beaded bracelet ($58). As I headed out the door, I heard a bead hit the ground. One of the very small gold balls at the end of each of the 4 strings completely popped off. Luckily I found it on the ground and kept it so I can take it back to the store. I've been to the store twice now to exchange and now I want to return my favorite Lolite beaded one because I'm upset. I don't even want another one. Who knows if they thing I'm trying to pull some scam and get a new bracelet, but I do know that 3 of the 5 bracelet damages were NOT a user error problem. I'm actually quite gentle with them. I'm going to do my best to return for the third and final time to get my money back. Even if they only gave me store credit, I wouldn't purchase another piece because I'm sure the problems will just keep coming despite how many exchanges i make. The gemstones may be good quality, but the rest of the pieces on the bracelet are very low quality. Don't waste your money. There are many other jewelry designers who make higher quality pieces around the exact same price point. Shop around before you spend your money here. read more
