So if you're looking to enjoy the pool and a drink, make sure to do it in a weekend.

It's split between single lanes and a wider section for open swim during scheduled times. Lessons and classes are offered during the day for babies up through seniors. This can impact open swim so it's best to check out times available. Information can be found on their website and Facebook page. They have various membership options and also allow drop ins for $10 a day per adult. There are locker rooms and a family changing room. There are bleachers and chairs for observers and a cute outdoor pool deck area when it's warm. The staff has always been polite when we go and are willing to answer questions about lessons and other things. There are weekend events such as family swim party and BBQs. Overall a nice place to go and swim for a bit without a huge cost to be a guest.

The pool is accessible only to Clarkstown residents and their guests, so if you're not a resident befriend someone who is. You must obtain a Clarkstown resident ID card first at the registration office at 31 Zukor Road in New City. (The pool won't simply accept a driver's license.) Rates can be either daily or seasonal for individuals or family, and are very reasonable compared to similar community pools.

On a recent visit it was nice to see that the previous snake-ridden den of iniquity has long been been replaced with a legitimate pool and that the mythological beasts of years past have been slayed by chlorine and actual cement walls. You can even see right to the bottom. What a concept. This is what Nanuet Lake should have been like all along... no thanks whatsoever to my parents who thought this was some tough love version of Shangri La, albeit minus the all consuming bliss one often finds in paradise. While it's a nice enough spot and the setting is scenic, the pictures floating around don't quite tell the full story. Yes, it's spring-fed and chemical-free, which gives it more of a forest pond feel than a traditional pool. That might be a plus for some people, but there are downsides. The water feels heavier than a normal pool, and there's no true shallow end--so treading water for long stretches can get tiring. If you go, I'd honestly recommend bringing a float to hang out more comfortably in the water. The facilities are basic. There are very few pool chairs--mostly just park benches scattered around a small paved deck. Seating is limited, and it was hard to find a place to set up. I'd recommend bringing your own beach chair if you have one. There are plenty of picnic tables farther back from the pool, which I assume is their way of keeping food out of the swim area. We arrived around 3 PM and that timing was probably my biggest gripe. The parking lot was full, so we had to find a random lot down the road and then walk back and hunt for the entrance. Not the easiest arrival. The $20 day pass would be fine if the setup matched the price, but for what it is, it felt a little steep. Also worth noting--cell service is spotty, and while they say there's Wi-Fi, it didn't work well for us. Overall, it's not a bad experience, but it didn't quite live up to the online buzz. If you go in with the right expectations (and a float, a chair, and some patience), you'll probably enjoy it more than we did.

Although we didn't try the water slide because we were visiting only for a swim meet, the facility had kiddie splash pool and a wading area to provide plenty of options for a wide age range of swimmers. If you get some deja-vu when you visit, that might be because Morristown's Streeter Swim Pool and changing rooms appear to share the same exact layout. (Why build one when you can build two at twice the price!) The Ginty Pool has a decent number of trees on one side that provide welcome shade, and it also has an excellent snack bar with chicken tenders that earned rave reviews from our two little swimmers. The line for food can get long when it's really busy, but the large servings of homemade lemonade and the variety of snacks and frozen treats make it worthwhile. The burgers also looked amazing, though we didn't have the chance to try them.

The pass is not free with two options available (1) pay per visit pass or (2) pay a set fee that allows you free unlimited visits but it's slightly costly (I don't remember the exact cost) so if you don't visit often then the pay per visit pass is the better option. Considering the distance from any real pools and/or beaches this is a great option if you want to cool down during the hot summer months and live in Cornwall. They have one large pool ranging from 3 FOW to about 12FT for diving. Outside the large pool there is a kiddie pool/sprinkler setup. I don't believe a pass is needed for the sprinklers. The pool is gated and has material covering most of the gate to make for a semi-private experience. Overall a really well kept facility for locals. They may have a non-resident option to gain access to this pool but expect to pay a premium which helps maintain the pool.

I usually go just to hike and enjoy the views. What I like is that the trail is always clean with clear signs on where to walk up which creates a safe hike. There are different levels of difficulty of trails so you can either select a moderate trail or challenging one. There is a large grass area where you can sit and enjoy a picnic or take a walk around the lake.
