Visited here for a Sunday Football funday with my family recommended to us by my uncle and we were not disappointed! First off, they have an every day happy hour which featured some great prices on all types of drinks. There was no food on the happy hour menu so we opted to share nachos (they were huge) and a steak sandwich. The steak sandwich was honestly one of the best things I've tasted. Steak was super tender and it was a fan fave for everyone. There was only one bartender but she was super nice and very attentive, even to our larger party. Gossip is a no frills sit down style bar in Hell's Kitchen with good drink and food options catered to just about any eater and drinker. Getting here is easy if you're on the E or C line, just a 4 min walk from the 50th St station. The interior is clean and looks a bit old fashioned.We went with a party of 5 and were able to grab a booth in the back. One of the booths was closed due to a water leak but it did look like they were taking care of it. They have a large menu of food and drinks which we definitely took advantage of. The cocktails were sweet and flavorful, the beers poured well. For food we grabbed a tray of vegetables with dips that filled us up just fine. The service was good as well, the server checked on us at just the right times and threw on the game we requested as well. TV options weren't fantastic in the back, unsure about the front though. Bathrooms were very clean, which seems like bare minimum stuff but living in NYC we can tell you it is not, so that's a plus. Drinks ended up being really not expensive at all and for a party of 5 we didn't break the bank at all. Went out for our 23rd anniversary dinner before a Broadway show and the place is still as great as it was 13 years ago. To celebrate our 10th anniversary, we renewed our vows and chose this establishment as the place for our reception and everything was great then as it was this time around. He was gracious then and gracious and even more friendlier now when we went today. He actually still remembered my wife. The waitress also made the evening one to remember with her attentiveness and always ready to answer our questions. But back to the food. We had this slice filet mignon to start off with and wow, the softness of it with the cream on top was tasty, and starting things off right. My wife had the Irish beef stew, her favorite and it did not disappoint. She enjoyed very much and felt as it the portion was so much, like it did not go down. I had the shepherds pie and oh yeah, it was heaven - the chef did his thing and took his time with that. The potatoes were fluffy, the meat was saucy and the veggies were tender. It was excellent. I want to like this place. The interior is lovely and the servers are nice, although they forgot about me so I went to pay at the serving station. I got a burger that had blue cheese and branston pickle on it. Those two flavors DID NOT work together at all! The burger meat itself was great. I came here on St Patricks Day. The place looks deceptively small from the outside but there is a lot of seating in the back so we were able to sit comfortably with a group of 6. The English muffin I tried and it was ok. I threw the rest away. The horseradish creme it comes with is good. Not spicy at all. The Cobb salad is amazing! It's bigger than I thought lol. It came with bacon (cooked perfect), grilled chicken (cooked perfect and nicely seasoned), avocado (actually fresh!), hard boiled egg, red onion, crumbled bleu cheese, and tomatoes. Best spot in the heart of Hell's Kitchen for everything - grab a solo drink, happy hour, watch a game, hang with friends, have a bite to eat...the list goes on. I was fortunate enough to have discovered Gossip on Yelp a few years back when I was looking for a spot to celebrate my sister's post NYC Marathon run and have been going back since. We love it so much that we decided to host my sister's bridal luncheon here and a incredible time was had by all. They have a party room space on the 2nd floor so it makes for a great spot to host a event for larger parties. The staff is truly the best. It is never a dull moment coming here, sure to feel right at home. Eoin holds the bar down and always makes you feel welcome, plus he has great taste in music. Kieran is always so accommodating, he does a great job and running the show and was fantastic throughout the whole planning process for my sister's shower. Jimmy, Lucy and the rest of the staff who were assisting the day of helped make for a lovely day. If you are in the area and looking for a great bar / restaurant experience, this place is sure to do the trick. They also have a great outdoor seating setup now that I hope is there to stay. I decided on an early dinner and was perusing the restaurants along 9th Avenue. It was around happy hour time so I was looking to see what deals were being offered. I had come across the menu for Gossip Bar, an Irish pub with their menu listed outside along with the happy hour drink menu. I had initially passed by but then their steak sandwich caught my eye along with the happy hour drink options so my choice was made. I decided to sit inside since it was cooler-although there were people seated outside with a beer or cocktail. I had my choice of seats, it was early yet and the bar was not filled. It is a large space, the bar along one wall and booth and tables on the opposite side. The waiter arrived promptly and I told him I wanted a margarita and the steak sandwich. The margarita arrived quickly and was delicious. I checked out my emails on my phone and before I knew it, my sandwich had arrived. It was hot and delicious. The sandwich consisted on steak, medium well as I asked for along with swiss cheese and carmelized onions and mushrooms. This was all on the top of a toasted baguette. My waiter was Ian and he was attentive and accommodating. The price for lunch-dinner was reasonably and I would recommend and return, especially since once the theaters reopen, all of those restaurants will be busy. read more

I had never been here before much to my amazement even though its literally across the street from one of my friend's apartments. Also, where my bud was conveniently hosting his 30th birthday two weeks ago. He had the entire upper floor room rented out I think for free. They specialize in hosting parties of all types pretty well. Trust in that there were enough people there and party crashers for whatever deal the bar had going to make this room being rented out cheap/or free. It's a really nice and generous space and very warmly lit. Also, I was pretty impressed that they had even a coat check hanger area by the door upstairs. Drinks were affordable for Mid-town at least and pretty darn strong. I was a hot mess later. I will say that eventually at some point in the night I plopped down at the bar area by myself and ordered a grilled cheese and curly fries. They were really freaking delicious. Or I was just drunk. This place is pretty straight-forward. You get what you get and thats about it...beers, bars and decent music. It doesnt get too crowded, which is a good thing. You dont have to wait too long to get drink, which is also a good thing. They have a "dj" on the weekends, which is a dude playing music to the whole bar from his laptop. Not bad, just something to note. The place is also pretty big so you can come here with a decent sized group and have plenty of space.
