I needed a little nourishment to power through Black Friday sales. Of course, I was I my element. Shopping....deep discounts, you know the drill. smile. However, I needed some food before hitting the sales. Gossip Shack 2 is located on Grand Avenue Parkway in Pflugerville, TX, to the rescue to fulfill my food needs. This was my first visit. I got the opportunity to meet Michael Blaylock, the owner. I asked him about the origin of the name. He mentioned the trifecta 1) biblical based in that he wants to spread the news about his business very much like evangelism was spread. 2) he wants his business to be a place where families come together to talk and play games...enjoy themselves and 3) at catchy title for the young peeps (people). I ordered CPR (Cajun, Parmesan & Ranch) chicken wings and a waffle OMG!!! They have the best wings I've ever eaten. The chicken wings were lightly crispy with the Cajun Parmesan one two punch. Amazing!!! The waffle was flavorful and soft. It was delightful to talk to the owner and hear the history of the restaurant.

This place is fire. Like most places I tend to fall in love with I was told about it from a friend. It was a little further north than I usually like to go, but I figured I'd give it a try. They had this thing you could scan and look at the wings in 3-D, which was kind of cool, but the picture matched the food for sure. Pick a wing, flavor doesn't matter, you won't be disappointed. But the star of the show was easily the fried Belgian waffle

You ever crave wings? Me too. Ever disappointed by the chain restaurants? Me too. Food quality and consistency has been on a downward trend it seems for a few years now with chain wing restaurants. Prices went up though. If I'm paying a premium, then I expect a premium product. I was nearby during a lunch. I hadn't been in the area around lunch for a while so I stopped in to get a bite. Every time I've been in the staff is always awesome and service is fast. There is a smallish dining area with low tables and bar height tables. I ordered the 6 pc wings in buffalo lemon pepper with dirty rice. Maaaaaan... I've yet to be disappointed. This was no exception. There are other options, but I've only ever had the wings. I can't speak for anything else on the menu, but I'm willing to bet everything is to the same standard or excellence.

Okay so I found the secret!!! You gotta order the wings regular and get the sauces on the side to control the saltiness!! The waffle was TRASH!! I was throughly pissed off for wasting this man's money on that. It was NOT fried, no butter or powdered sugar Although I ordered through DoorDash the service was awesome! I called in with a million questions about the many different flavors and the young lady that answered the phone was very patient and willing to help. This is definitely my favorite wing spot in Austin (when I'm not looking for Korean fried chicken)

Don't waste your money. This is what 18$ gets you... tenders that weren't fully tossed, an ounce of fries and a half filled ranch.

The food was DELICIOUS! The owners were very friendly and accommodating, and helped us figure out what to order. The establishment was a little older but clean, with some nice music going and games available to play. Another Instagram win! 10/10!!! A bonus: it is shellfish allergy-friendly!!!!

Heard about this place through some clients and had to try it out. They sent me to a good spot. I ordered the 6 wings with waffle and a side of fries. I went for the wings specifically and they didn't disappoint. I got the garlic Parmesan and garlic hot. Both had great flavor. The fries were really good too. Only complaint is the cold and tough waffle. I tried to eat that first thinking it'd be nice and warm. Not even close. As for the staff they were great. Super helpful and even over heard them helping another first timer. Let him taste test the sauce before he chose. I'd recommend the wings for sure! And I'll definitely be coming back to try it again. They have a lot of wing flavors to choose from.

Finally made our first visit so we could try "the best fish & chips" in the Austin area. The service was enough to want me to go back hopefully for us in this area they end up somewhere close by as I know how hard it is to find good workers. Pretzels were good! It was cooked well, if a little too much breading for my taste. The chips were really good. The tartar sauce was different than I am used to, a little runny and pink tinged, but it was good. The mushy peas were yummy and added an authenticity to the dish. I didn't really use the curry sauce that also came with the dish. To me it doesn't go with fish or chips. I did taste it, and the flavor was great.

My server, Julia, was an absolute star from the moment we sat down, super friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring about making sure we had a great time. I ordered a dish that usually comes with a certain side (you know how it is with those classic pairings), but they had run out toward the end of the night. No big deal at all, I get that items run low during busy late hours, but when I asked if they could just take it off and swap in something else (I wasn't feeling fries that night), Julia handled it like a pro. She didn't hesitate, made sure it was adjusted perfectly without any extra charge or fuss, and even checked back to confirm I was happy with how it turned out. I truly appreciate how understanding and flexible she was, it's rare to find that kind of no drama accommodation, especially late in the shift. Shoutout to the manager, Verna, too, she's clearly running a tight ship with a positive vibe, because the whole team felt welcoming and on point. The rest of the staff we interacted with were just as great: quick smiles, helpful energy, and that perfect balance of fun without being over the top.

She was indifferent, like we were bothering her, and had a borderline RUDE attitude. The clincher was her assumption on who was paying the bill. We waited a good ten minutes for her to initially show up. When she got to the table the first thing she asked for was a credit card to cover the drinks we ordered; which I thought was strange since our family was sitting at a table and ordering dinner. After the food was delivered she never returned to check on us. Other servers had to get us refills and were happy to do so. When she finally returned at the end of the meal with the bill , all smiles of course, she had already run the credit card without ever giving us the bill to review??? The card she asked for, for the drinks, was NOT meant to pay the bill. We ordered the grilled cheese with tomato soup, chicken and waffles, and the strawberry and cream waffle with Biscoff spread. Before I get to the food, I want to recognize the excellent customer service. Since it was my first visit, I had quite a few questions. The employee helping us was patient, friendly, and knowledgeable. She walked us through all of the flight options, and let us know that everything was made fresh to order, so there would be a short wait. I appreciated the transparency, and when our food arrived I soon found out it was worth the wait. The standout for me was the grilled cheese waffle with tomato soup. The soup tasted homemade, with bright tomato flavor and generous chunks of tomato throughout. It was fresh, and absolutely delicious. The grilled cheese featured a flavorful muenster and provolone instead of the standard cheddar you find everywhere else, and the waffle itself was crispy on the outside with a perfect gooey cheese pull. My friend enjoyed the strawberry and cream waffle with Biscoff spread since I'm not a huge fan of Biscoff. I did try the strawberries and cream, though, and both were excellent. The strawberries were fresh, sweet, and firm, while the cream tasted rich and homemade. The chicken and waffles were outstanding. The chicken was crispy, juicy, and well seasoned, and the waffle had a wonderful texture: light and airy inside with a crisp exterior. It was served with syrup and a remoulade-style sauce. The restaurant is clean, welcoming, and thoughtfully decorated with fun murals, word art and nods to Round Rock. For a first visit, Waffle Love made a fantastic impression. The next time I'm in Round Rock, I'll be ordering another waffle flight, probably the same 3 selections, just without the Biscoff spread.
