Awesome view and location. If you're trying to munch and enjoy the view of the carquinez strait, this is the spot. I'm not Hawaiian, nor am I from there, but this restaurant gives a real good mom and pops Hawaiian vibe. Love that it's not corny like some other Hawaiian spots that over does it with Hawaiian decor. The sliders are definitely underrated. Some people will say "it's whatever", but I honestly feel the sweet blue sauce and cabbage balance out the salty pork. I would say a must try. I couldn't get a picture of the pork kalua tatter tots because we basically murdered them before I could get a snap, they were that good. My kids shared the stir fry udon noodles with bbq chicken. They loved it because it was waaayyy too sweet. I wasn't a fan, but the kids devoured it. The bbq chicken was a little dry, I have to be honest. It did not taste as fresh as expected and honestly tasted pre-made. Like, it was probably good if it was fresh, but they probably re-heated it. The sauce they give made up for it, which made me end up eating it all. The sauce basically saved it. Overall, the experience was great and the service was awesome. Saw them on check please and hustled down to the waters edge. Five stars as it starts with a great view of the water. Plenty of parking, cool little clean building. Really nice staff and excellent food. We had the Elua combo two meat plate with Kalua pork and Hamburger with gravy. Hands-down the best Kalua pork I've ever had. Juicy inside crisp outside and good seasoning. The hamburger patty was very well seasoned and the gravy is creamy goodness. We also had a starter Spam Muwasabi which was excellent! What a little gem in Benicia. We are not in this neck of the woods often, but as we were passing through we decided to stop in as a friend had mentioned Got Plate Lunch before. It's a bit off the beaten path, but as you drive up, the location is scenic and a nice change of pace. The restaurant itself isn't a large space, but they seem to turn tables fairly quickly and a lot of business is to-go. Definitely started to miss Hawaii when we walked in. Island music, Hawaiian decor, and the views outside the window with a sunset backdrop all made for a lovely setting. The menu is pretty straightforward. We had the chicken katsu, garlic shrimp special, spam musubi, chicken wings, and a loco moco. All were good, albeit the wings were a bit salty. But the star of the show was the loco moco. That patty was seasoned so well and the gravy was so savory. I would definitely order that again. Everyone has different opinions on their mac salad, but I enjoyed their's. Holy Crap!!!!! Best Hawaiian spot in the Bay Area. Stumbled into this place and was absolutely blown away by the view, but even more impressed with the food I had. Started off with some lumpia super crispy and served with a side of sweet chili sauce. Amazing!!! Next, had Musubi. Best I've ever had. The rice was well seasoned in the Spam was fried perfectly. Next we had the crispy Kahlúa tots. Never had anything like it before, but will be definitely coming back for a second round of those. The staff definitely had the aloha spirit as we felt like family as soon as we walked in. Uncle Myk happen to be in and stopped by and said hi and asked if we were having a great time. At these prices, customer should receive food freshly cooked, not plated from previously cooked food that was sitting on the counter for a long, long time. my fav restaurant in benicia!! i ordered for pickup over the phone on a tuesday evening and the food was ready to go when i got there! the lady who rang me up was very kind :) there were only a handful of ppl dining inside and one other person came in to pick up an order when i was leaving. the location is beautiful with a great view of the bay and lots of parking near ninth st! food was amazing and portions were big! the chicken was seasoned perfectly and wasn't too spicy. i'm not usually the biggest fan of mac salad but theirs is so good! the star of the show was def the kalua tots. they are so crispy and flavorful with a good amount of meat on them. highly highly recommend this spot if ur in the area! read more

Honestly, them moving is probably a blessing because the location is a lot better than the original location on 1st St. Plenty of parking and a nice trail nearby if you need to walk off the calories. Menu isn't as extensive as I remember, but you have the essentials. I got the mixed plate which came with bbq chicken, spam, and portuguese sausage. The BF got the duo combo which came with hamburger w/ gravy and katsu. He asked for a side of hawaiian bread and literally got that. Not toasted, no butter/jam, nada. Wished we were offered additional sauces since there were none on the table. Everything needed just a little more kick or maybe we just needed to order something different. Got here shortly after opening on a weekend. Thought this place would have been packed but it never had more than 2 other tables sat the whole time we were there. Service was attentive even though employees stood around and talked to each other a lot. Even the cook poking his head out the food window to chat often. Out dishes were perfect. Dined in with some friends last night having not been to Got Plate Lunch since they relocated. I give the food a solid 4 stars but knocking them back 1 star for their lack of transparency on paying cash vs non-cash. Was surprised to see a big difference on the bill. This was not disclosed upfront nor listed on the menu I saw that there would be a difference. The non-cash "fee" added another 4.4% to the bill. I am not against restaurants charging a surcharge but California law requires that the difference be disclosed up-front. Additionally, their "suggested" tip included the sales tax and the surcharge fee. Auwe! read more

What a fun little Hawaiian dive restaurant. Not many tables, but great bbq chicken thighs (so moist and seasoned) and the Kalua pork was great. I had the pineapple salad which came with lots of grilled pineapple and a unique pineapple vinaigrette dressing. We tried the special appetizer which was ahi nachos and it was fantastic with two types of sauces (creamy sriracha and a creamy wasabi) over the friend wonton chips and cubed ahi. New location! Google was very confused and took me down Sea Breeze in the next street over which does not lead to Got Plate. Head down W 9th Street instead towards the boat launch. The new location has a beautiful waterfront view. It's very fitting for Got Plate. It looks like the only business in this area. Everything else is residential or the public shore/park. Plenty of parking. Handicap accessible ramps and two picnic tables under a large tree. Same great food. They still seem to be very popular. We were lucky waltzing in on a weekend around 5pm. The new location is larger and has bar seating. When other people with larger parties in came right after us it looked to be a 15-20 min wait. I ordered the combo with bbq chicken and spam katsu. The portions are very generous. It was enough for another meal. They also have a large selection of Hawaiian sun juice. Service was very quick and friendly. Parking available with a nice view of the Carquinez Bridge and Carquinez Strait of boats passing through. Service knows the answer to your question, menu shows history. i been a loyal soldier of got plate lunch since they were only a food truck parked at biorad. the first street era was great too but now they have reached their peak at ninth street park (formerly known as cliff's). beautiful view & service is always welcoming. i'd say the food is "overpriced" but what isn't these days? you get what you pay for. L&L who? i've had most things on their menu; from the loco moco plate to their grilled cheeses...but for today's review the e'lua combo is the highlight. spicy chicken with the kalua pork insane pairing. I was excited to try this restaurant for the second time. I called into place my order. When I arrived they let me know they never received my order. She called a second location to see if my order was there, it was 10mins away!! I had no clue there were 2 locations. The customer service rep did not mention anything. The waiter told me they could not place my order due to the fact I already made at a different location. The shift lead wasn't helpful at all and was very rude. Great customer service. Server was very attentive, friendly and welcoming. Great lighting. Not too dark or too bright. Food was amazing. Appetizer came out, then the main dish. I did not wait for a long period of time in between meals. I ordered the Kaula pork and cheese wrapped in wonton with a sprinkle of fruikake on top. For my main dish I had garlic shrimp over white rice and steamed cabbage. I also have the Hawaiian drink in the black can (my favorite drink). There's plenty of parking and across the street parking (where I parked). I've been visiting Got Plate for over 10 years - their food truck, there old location on first street, and now this spot. Crowd favorites like the barbecue chicken and loco moco are always to die for. I ordered the bbq chicken plate with added grilled onions. Oat dock area- the menu is better than before from what I can remember- the mini plates are just enough for us- with those you don't get the macaroni salad ? I was confused by that but I guess I missed that on the menu- chicken katsu and the spicy bbq beef- iced tea- it's a good visit- kinda cramped it depends on where you sit I guess- all in all we will be back - service is fast- they speak too fast - In a rush to not forget the special ? Tried their new spot in Benicia and love the view. Restaurant has a few tables to dine in so come early on weekends l. Staff and service was great and fast. We came for lunch on a tuesday and waited about 10 mins to be seated. We ordered chicken katsu and their loco moco plate, both came with 2 scoops of rice and mac salad which was just ok. Katsu was crunchy and flavorful,I liked it, Loco moco was just ok I have had better. I do want to try other things from their menu in the future. Went to the new location at the 9th Street boat ramp in Benicia. Nicely done inside. The young lady working the cash register and counter was awesome. It was fun listening to her handle everything from a special order request to someone calling in about applying for a job. I went with one of the Specials for today, marinated short ribs. We're BAAAAACK!!! Came back again today and YES! This place is STILL THE BEST HAWAIIAN FOOD in the area! I mean it is better than ALL of the others including the higher end Trader Vic's in Emeryville. The only difference is this place doesn't have a full service bar (meaning hard liquor. The staff are friendly and the owners are awesome! I went for Sunday brunch and ordered from that menu. I had the popular menu item Loco moco. It had two beef patties over rice and gravy with two over easy eggs and a side of Macaroni salad. It was freshly cooked and came out hot. This definitely is not a franchise/ commercial restaurant and you can tell by the food it's made with the spirit of Hawaii and love. Check it out if you're ever in Benicia it's A must have. This place used to be a burger joint and Im so glad it turned into hawaiian bbq. The sliders were excellent and the spam musubi was sooooo good. Tried the wasabi musubi too and also good of course. I could tell the mac salad was good but it was a little salty - assuming it was just the one batch. They have vegan options that we did not try but they were only on the wall and not on the menu. I would have tried the portobello mushroom katsu had I known about it. Olivia was a great waitress. There was another woman there who was hella irro tho so I just wished her a better day. She was a real vibe killer but Olivia's kindness and attentiveness made it better. I have been coming here ever since their 1st street days. I also supported them while they were on Bayshore. I'm really happy where they're at now - by the water is perfect for them. As you drive up, you see the Hawai'i flag and the parking can be a bit crowded, but at least there's a big open lot for the Ninth St park next to it. Keep in mind, they won't seat you if your whole party isn't present. The inside is a little small and I wish there was outdoor seating, because I can only imagine how popular this place would be in the summer! They're really friendly and it's always good service when I come. My favorites here are the loco moco, chicken katsu, spam katsu, their shaka fries, and their poke! My husband and I have also shared the the tater tots. Service - I've placed orders on the phone and I've eaten at the restaurant as well. They are really friendly here and food is usually done really quickly. The only thing is sometimes they run out of loco mocos so you might need to ask whether it's available or not! Heard about Got Plate Lunch from Yelp & decided to give it a try when they opened on a weekday morning when they were unlikely to be busy. It's located in an remote & quiet spot across from the Alvarez Ninth Street Park near a boat launch at the end of the street that drops into Carquinez Strait & with a beautiful view of the strait & the Carquinez Bridge in the distance. So, it's worth driving here just to walk around & enjoy the view As for the food, all I ordered was the Loco Moco, which is my favorite Hawaiian dish, & a couple of beers. The fried egg was overcooked, not runny as I prefer but I didn't bother complaining about it. The serving was very large & the meat patties & gravy over the rice tasted fine to me; not great but acceptable to me. The dining room is extremely small; you have to squeeze thru chairs in order to get in & out. Got a table for 2 in the corner with a view of the Carquinez Strait & Bridge & recommend this table if you can get it. read more

i haven't been to got plate in a very long while, but i always remembered the food as being so yummy and delicious. today was the first time i ate in their new location and all i can say is: total upgrade!!!! not only is the space a lot bigger but the view is so beautiful (and finding parking isn't a struggle anymore lol). since i've been on a no meat diet, i was worried that i wouldn't be able to eat anything. but today my friend and i ordered the garlic shrimp tacos, seared ahi tacos, garlic fries and kalua tots (not pictured). the garlic shrimp tacos were okay but the ahi tacos were so delicious! as for the fries, i wasn't really tasting any garlic but the furikake seasoning was good. and the kalua tots are always a hit for me. eating here made me remember how good the food is so i will definitely be coming back again in the near future. i also saw that they have a mimosa flight so very interested in trying that during my next visit :D read more
