The best Hawaiian BBQ in the Vallejo/Benicia area. I also love how close the restaurant is to the bay. It is right across the 9th Street Park and boat launch. I love the indoor theming. Makes you feel like you are in Hawaii. It's also really clean inside. The waitress and servers were really nice and helpful. The food is great especially their spam matsubi. Love wife also loves ordering the pineapple salad. It is a little more expensive than your standard Hawaiian BBQ restaurant, but they definitely have really good quality food. Give this place a shot if you have that Hawaiian craving.

I saw Got Plate Lunch on Check, Please and it looked like a legit Hawaiian place. Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to our expectations (though I'm glad to see a small business thriving - we got takeout since it would have been about a 20 minute wait to be seated around 2 pm on a Sunday). First of all, the biggest problem was that they messed up our order - instead of a whole order of spicy chicken, they gave us a half order. Luckily we checked. They quickly prepared the rest of the order and charged my husband the difference... except they rang him up for the wrong amount, something like 1.5x the amount he should have been rung up for. Again, good thing we checked. Then, when we got home, we realized we only had two tiny mac salads... not sure if that's really the portion size for the full meal, or if they forgot to give us mac salads for the second entree. Either way, that portion size is TINY. Finally, I was disappointed when I opened up the "bbq chicken" and saw that it had no char on it and appeared to just be sauteed in a teriyaki-ish sauce. Not what comes to mind when I think of "Hawaiian BBQ Chicken". I understand that mistakes are made but the combination of the order fulfillment mistakes, the overcharging, potential small mac salad portion size, and misrepresentation of a bbq chicken, I'm so sad to say I wouldn't recommend Got Plate Lunch to anyone. Again, it's great they're doing well despite my personal experience. I just would have loved to have a reliable Hawaiian place, especially with the awesome location this place has, by the water and a park.

It's a bit unfair for me to review this place because I am part Hawaiian and know how Hawaiian food should taste. This place is alright. The highlight was the Crispy Kalua Tots. The main thing that made this good was the sauce as it provided just the right accent to bring the dish together. Highly recommended. The Kalua by itself is average and lacks the flavors I miss from home. The Spam Katsu was tasty. Their mac salad is just blah. Service was great and the spot was beautiful. I am probably in the minority with this opinion because the place was very busy when we were there.

Small authentic Hawaiian restaurant that serves the best comfort Hawaiian food. I was pleasantly surprised with their spam musubi and udon stir fry noodles. The Kalua Pork Tots were so good - Crispy tots with tender pork. The Loco Moco was good as well but the gravy is what sets it apart from others! A tad salty but overall good food at reasonable prices. The service was also great! Everyone was friendly and kind. It's on the smaller side and seats maybe around 20 and some seats at the bar but it's worth it.

Plenty of parking. Views were amazing. Wait staff greeted us warmly. Came here on a Sunday and they're operating hours we're from 10a-3p. We ordered the Kolohe burger with tater tots because they ran out of fries and the Ultimate loco moco with added grilled onions (+$1). I simply was not impressed with my burger. The kalua pig on my burger was salty, thank goodness for the added bbq sauce. The plating was just too blahhh, it looked kinda sad. My partner's loco moco was "ok". The bowl it was served in was big, so it made the entree look a but small and mac salad that came with it had no flavor. Maybe we went there on an off day, I don't know.

Benicia is full of wonderful surprises and Got Plate Lunch is a special gem. Located at the end of W 9th Street you'll find this spot ~ we actually came close to when they were closing for lunch so we had a mimosa while waiting and took our food to the outdoor picnic tables with a view. Highly recommend! We ordered two 'Locals Favorite' plates that come with a protein, two scoops of white rice, and a scoop of Hawaiian macaroni salad. So delicious ~ we also are huge fans of Hawaiian rolls, so we ordered a few sides of those to make little BBQ chicken sliders too. Got Plate Lunch offers Hawaiian comfort food in casual and fun digs. There was a birthday party happening when we arrived and everyone at the table was having a great time with a post-meal photo by the water after the meal. Service is great, the food you can tell is made with island love, and the menu is creative with super cool items. We already can't wait to come back to bring friends to try the Kalua Pork Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, the Spam Musubi, and Loco Moco. Love the flavored mimosas, what a treat. Affordable and hits the spot, double check!

Friendly staff and good food. Came here for breakfast and ordered the Ultimate Loco Moco (rice. ground beef patty, gravy, spam, eggs, hash brown, & mac salad) and Hawaiian roll french toast with the POG syrup. These were super crispy and the syrup was so delicious. Love that they have so many syrup flavors to choose from.

We saw this place featured last night on Bay Area Check Please! After taking our Princess to get a bath, we decided to make the trek up here to try the grindz. We're always down to try some Hawaiian Style eats. The parking lot was nearly full when we arrived at 12:30. Not to worry though, there's a park across the street with lots of available parking. Maybe not so much when the weather is warm but today was a cold, windy, overcast day. I stayed outside and walked around with dog as she went inside and placed our order to go. She told me that the restaurant was busy, and the staff was hustling. Despite this, everyone was friendly and helpful, very Hawaiian-esque. When places are far away from homebase and we want to try multiple flavors, we'll order way more food than we can eat. We have no issues with eating leftovers later in the day or the next day. We got: Spam MuWasabi - 4 - presented as rectangular sushi roll pieces and covered in a wasabi aioli and served with a garlic soy sauce. Because of the tight fit of the pieces in the clamshell, some of the seaweed stuck to other pieces causing the rolls to fall apart. Flavor wise it was pretty decent, although I don't think the garlic soy sauce was necessary. Loco Moco - 4 - Good rice, okay hamburger patties, great eggs, so-so gravy. The patties were on the dryer side, and I would have liked to have had some minced onions mixed into the patties. The eggs were nicely cooked and the one yolk that I broke was beautifully runny. The gravy had no body and tasted as if it came from a mix or a jar. My wife ordered Grilled Onions and I didn't get them but we weren't charged for them either. Kalua Pork with Cabbage and BBQ Chicken Plate - 3 - I've made Kalua Style Pork in a crockpot and also in the oven. Neither will ever be as good as a whole pig that's been cooked in an imu. I gave this plate a taste, cold, in the morning. I agree with my wife that more cabbage would have been nice. The pig was nice and tender albeit a bit on the salty side for our tastes. The chicken was good but the flavor that I got leaned more toward teriyaki than straight BBQ. Perhaps this was chicken marinated in teriyaki sauce that was then grilled? Garlic Shrimp Plate - 4 - The Shrimp were cooked well and had been cleaned before cooking. But the real star of this dish was the Garlic Oil that soaked into the rice. Probably not the healthiest thing in the world but certainly ono-licious! Macaroni Salad - 4 - A small container of Mac Salad came with each of our three Plate Lunches. Not too wet, not too dry, the Mac Salad was pretty good. When I started writing this review, there were two photographs already in place. I checked and hadn't written a review previously but sometimes life gets in the way of things we plan to do. I found the same photos at the top of the Yelp page and my name was attached to them from over 9 years ago. That was when they were at their 1st Street location that was close around 2021 when new landlords bought the property. What did we order way back then? Loco Moco Plate and Kalua Pig Plate, of course! Overall, we liked the vibe and the service. The food was not great but certainly good enough for us to return in the future. We would love to see some lau lau, potato-mac salad, lomi-lomi salmon too. Got Plate Lunch is definitely much better than most of the Hawaiian chain restaurants on the mainland. The only places we can think of that were consistently better were the Temple Bar in Berkeley and Aloha Buffet in Milpitas, both long closed. Next time we'll come without the dog so we can sit in the restaurant and eat.

Whenever I cross the bridge to Benicia I try to make my way out here. This place has the best musibis in my opinion. There's numerous Hawaiian bbq places everywhere, but this is the only place where I feel does it justice. Space is clean and great view of the waterfront. Service is friendly and helpful. Great food, people, and service... what more could you ask for?

I have no clue how I had the address to their express location but that was were I started off. Good thing they answer the phone and gave me directions to the restaurant location which is near the water where a dock is so when they are full inside and customers have to wait...they have a great view to chill till a table is available. They are pretty small but get a lot of traffic. I came solo and sat at the bar. There was a mimosas special that I tried that was pretty pricey but was presented cute on a surf board that held the glass flight. I did get pretty tipsy with it so eat after to mellow it out. My server bartender was not really engaging with her guests. She did answer questions and check in time to time but did the bare minimum. She was packing the to go food and making sure the dishes were presentable before being brought out to their tables. The location to put in orders in, is at the back where the gots plate selfie type wall is yet no one would take pictures with it because the girls/servers that takes the orders is usually right in front of the wall. I got a small glimpse of it sitting at the bar and when no one was there, took a quick photo. I noticed a lot of orders coming out for the tables were mostly presented in a differently shaped bowl. I specifically came for the blue Hawaiian slider and tried the crispy Kalua tots. My food looked great and tasted just as good as it looks. I did save a bit to bring over to family to try. Reasonable price and amount of food. Definitely a day date spot or a small group outing. I would like to come again with a guest and try some of the other food items. They have available parking but keep in mind they are a busy location. Well I did come on a Saturday

Got hunger? Got a toll pass to get over the bridge? Tucked away on the Benicia waterfront, Got Plate Lunch is where classic Hawaiian plate lunch specialties collide with California charm and culinary goodness. I went with Da lunch plate since I was craving spam, Portuguese sausage, and a serving of the BBQ chicken. Initial bite of spam did make me reconsider my recent subscribe and save order for spam--super salty compared to their newer flavors and the classic Less Sodium. Tried the Kailua pork which I would also recommend. Almost opted for a sodium less or kinda less dinner, but GPL vibes and a friendly staff turned into a dinner stay. The place was packed so getting a plate lunch might require a wait.

Got here shortly after opening on a weekend. Thought this place would have been packed but it never had more than 2 other tables sat the whole time we were there. Service was attentive even though employees stood around and talked to each other a lot. Even the cook poking his head out the food window to chat often. Out dishes were perfect. We all got a version/size of the loco moco. The side of macaroni salad was amazing. Not to sweet and not to saucey. Just the way I love it. Can't wait to go back and try more menu items...as the food and view are so worth it. read more

What a fun little Hawaiian dive restaurant. Not many tables, but great bbq chicken thighs (so moist and seasoned) and the Kalua pork was great. I had the pineapple salad which came with lots of grilled pineapple and a unique pineapple vinaigrette dressing. We tried the special appetizer which was ahi nachos and it was fantastic with two types of sauces (creamy sriracha and a creamy wasabi) over the friend wonton chips and cubed ahi. Try the udon noodle stir fry if you want something different the the typical BBQ. All of it was great and we met the owner; really nice lady. read more

A Taste of Aloha in Benicia - Got Plate Lunch Delivers! I still remember my first visit to Got Plate Lunch back when they were on First Street in Benicia. They had taken over the second location of Gumbah's, the beloved Chicago-style eatery from Vallejo. And speaking of Gumbah's--can we take a moment to mourn the loss of their classic Italian beef? But I digress... Craving some Hawaiian comfort food in a sit-down spot, I looked them up and discovered they had moved to 9th Avenue, right near the boat launch and beach access. Parking is a bit tight at the restaurant, but no worries--there's plenty across the street at the park. As soon as we stepped into the cozy white building, we were warmly greeted and quickly seated at the last available table--always a good sign! The menu looked fantastic, but the specials on the chalkboard caught our attention, so we decided to order different dishes and share the love. Our Picks: Hawaiian Hamburger Steak (aka Loco Moco without the egg) with extra grilled onions (+$1) Garlic Shrimp Special Each dish came with sticky rice and a generous scoop of legit Hawaiian mac salad, the kind that transports you straight to the islands. The Verdict? "Broke da Mouth" Good! I'm not usually a shrimp fanatic, but the garlic sauce and rice combo was absolutely delicious--bold in flavor without being overly salty (a common gripe of mine). The Hamburger Steak was fresh and juicy, clearly made with high-quality beef rather than the frozen patties some places serve. And the gravy? Oh, it was on point--smooth, rich, and flavorful without that dreaded clumpy or gray texture. As a bonus, they sell merch like T-shirts and shot glasses. Being the savvy shopper I am, I checked, and their shot glasses were less than half the price of the same ones on Amazon! A hidden Hawaiian gem located here in Benicia. Wow, your taste buds will get your mouth watering. Parking available with a nice view of the Carquinez Bridge and Carquinez Strait of boats passing through. Service knows the answer to your question, menu shows history. I enjoyed their mac salad and hamburger steak with gravy. I thought the hamburger steak portion was small but it was very filling. I would definitely come back. read more

We visited their new location by the water with nice sized windows for a great view. Honestly, them moving is probably a blessing because the location is a lot better than the original location on 1st St. Plenty of parking and a nice trail nearby if you need to walk off the calories. Menu isn't as extensive as I remember, but you have the essentials. I got the mixed plate which came with bbq chicken, spam, and portuguese sausage. The BF got the duo combo which came with hamburger w/ gravy and katsu. He asked for a side of hawaiian bread and literally got that. Not toasted, no butter/jam, nada. Wished we were offered additional sauces since there were none on the table. Everything needed just a little more kick or maybe we just needed to order something different. It was a great visit to their new location, but probably not our go-to spot for Hawaiian food though. read more

New location! Google was very confused and took me down Sea Breeze in the next street over which does not lead to Got Plate. Head down W 9th Street instead towards the boat launch. The new location has a beautiful waterfront view. It's very fitting for Got Plate. It looks like the only business in this area. Everything else is residential or the public shore/park. Plenty of parking. Handicap accessible ramps and two picnic tables under a large tree. Same great food. They still seem to be very popular. We were lucky waltzing in on a weekend around 5pm. The new location is larger and has bar seating. When other people with larger parties in came right after us it looked to be a 15-20 min wait. I ordered the combo with bbq chicken and spam katsu. The portions are very generous. It was enough for another meal. They also have a large selection of Hawaiian sun juice. Service was very quick and friendly. It was a fun outing with good food. read more

Great customer service. Server was very attentive, friendly and welcoming. Great lighting. Not too dark or too bright. Food was amazing. Appetizer came out, then the main dish. I did not wait for a long period of time in between meals. I ordered the Kaula pork and cheese wrapped in wonton with a sprinkle of fruikake on top. For my main dish I had garlic shrimp over white rice and steamed cabbage. I also have the Hawaiian drink in the black can (my favorite drink). There's plenty of parking and across the street parking (where I parked). The Carquinez Straight is right across the street so you can take a nice walk to walk off the delicious meal you just devoured. I give my experience a 10/10. read more

I've been visiting Got Plate for over 10 years - their food truck, there old location on first street, and now this spot. Crowd favorites like the barbecue chicken and loco moco are always to die for. I ordered the bbq chicken plate with added grilled onions. I also swapped one of my two scoops of rice for an extra scoop of that Mac salad! Spam musubi is also my go-to appetizer. I ordered all of my food to go and enjoyed it from home, but I can't wait to dine with a view during my next visit. read more

It's been a while - a great while/ they moved to the 9th st and I'm happy they did- it's cute - easy parking around the side - I didn't know and parked on the. Oat dock area- the menu is better than before from what I can remember- the mini plates are just enough for us- with those you don't get the macaroni salad ? I was confused by that but I guess I missed that on the menu- chicken katsu and the spicy bbq beef- iced tea- it's a good visit- kinda cramped it depends on where you sit I guess- all in all we will be back - service is fast- they speak too fast - In a rush to not forget the special ? I don't know - they do have vegan options so look on the board- It used to be an old burger place in town I forget the name - my kids went here often - not it's the new Hawaiian got plate lunch - I'm happy they stayed in town read more

We're BAAAAACK!!! Came back again today and YES! This place is STILL THE BEST HAWAIIAN FOOD in the area! I mean it is better than ALL of the others including the higher end Trader Vic's in Emeryville. The only difference is this place doesn't have a full service bar (meaning hard liquor. They do have beer though). The Spam MuWasabi is AMAZING! The wasabi aioli is killer! But even the regular Spam Musubi is great. This is my second time coming here and my SECOND 5 STAR REVIEW! Good friendly service and decent food , we used to visit them when they were located at the 1st street Benicia. Friday night came and we wanted something different , and we always wondered where they went so glad the business is still there . Tried their new spot in Benicia and love the view. Restaurant has a few tables to dine in so come early on weekends l. Staff and service was great and fast. We came for lunch on a tuesday and waited about 10 mins to be seated. We ordered chicken katsu and their loco moco plate, both came with 2 scoops of rice and mac salad which was just ok. Katsu was crunchy and flavorful,I liked it, Loco moco was just ok I have had better. I do want to try other things from their menu in the future. Went to the new location at the 9th Street boat ramp in Benicia. Nicely done inside. The young lady working the cash register and counter was awesome. It was fun listening to her handle everything from a special order request to someone calling in about applying for a job. I went with one of the Specials for today, marinated short ribs. You have to come and visit this restaurant in Benicia! Its location and view of the water is perfect setting for the Hawaiian vibe it takes me back to vacation mode. The staff are friendly and the owners are awesome! I went for Sunday brunch and ordered from that menu. I had the popular menu item Loco moco. It had two beef patties over rice and gravy with two over easy eggs and a side of Macaroni salad. It was freshly cooked and came out hot. This definitely is not a franchise/ commercial restaurant and you can tell by the food it's made with the spirit of Hawaii and love. Check it out if you're ever in Benicia it's A must have. This place used to be a burger joint and Im so glad it turned into hawaiian bbq. The sliders were excellent and the spam musubi was sooooo good. Tried the wasabi musubi too and also good of course. I could tell the mac salad was good but it was a little salty - assuming it was just the one batch. They have vegan options that we did not try but they were only on the wall and not on the menu. I would have tried the portobello mushroom katsu had I known about it. Olivia was a great waitress. There was another woman there who was hella irro tho so I just wished her a better day. She was a real vibe killer but Olivia's kindness and attentiveness made it better. I have been coming here ever since their 1st street days. I also supported them while they were on Bayshore. I'm really happy where they're at now - by the water is perfect for them. As you drive up, you see the Hawai'i flag and the parking can be a bit crowded, but at least there's a big open lot for the Ninth St park next to it. Keep in mind, they won't seat you if your whole party isn't present. The inside is a little small and I wish there was outdoor seating, because I can only imagine how popular this place would be in the summer! They're really friendly and it's always good service when I come. My favorites here are the loco moco, chicken katsu, spam katsu, their shaka fries, and their poke! They are a bit pricey in my opinion, but their food tastes really fresh. read more

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. Tonight is the second time in a row, they have gotten my order wrong. Paid extra to get two servings of macaroni salad and one serving of rice. Hey mistakes happen, but when you charge the customer extra and STILL get the order wrong. Word to the wise- always carefully check your take-out order(s) BEFORE you leave the restaurant. Heard about Got Plate Lunch from Yelp & decided to give it a try when they opened on a weekday morning when they were unlikely to be busy. It's located in an remote & quiet spot across from the Alvarez Ninth Street Park near a boat launch at the end of the street that drops into Carquinez Strait & with a beautiful view of the strait & the Carquinez Bridge in the distance. So, it's worth driving here just to walk around & enjoy the view As for the food, all I ordered was the Loco Moco, which is my favorite Hawaiian dish, & a couple of beers. The fried egg was overcooked, not runny as I prefer but I didn't bother complaining about it. The serving was very large & the meat patties & gravy over the rice tasted fine to me; not great but acceptable to me. The dining room is extremely small; you have to squeeze thru chairs in order to get in & out. Got a table for 2 in the corner with a view of the Carquinez Strait & Bridge & recommend this table if you can get it. read more

Yummy! I've been wanting to try out this place and I'm so glad I finally did. Food - I've had the Loco Moco here and BBQ plates. The loco moco is delicious. My husband and I have also shared the the tater tots. Service - I've placed orders on the phone and I've eaten at the restaurant as well. They are really friendly here and food is usually done really quickly. The only thing is sometimes they run out of loco mocos so you might need to ask whether it's available or not! Ambiance - A beautiful restaurant near the water in Benicia! It's small inside but they also have outdoor seating! i haven't been to got plate in a very long while, but i always remembered the food as being so yummy and delicious. today was the first time i ate in their new location and all i can say is: total upgrade!!!! not only is the space a lot bigger but the view is so beautiful (and finding parking isn't a struggle anymore lol). since i've been on a no meat diet, i was worried that i wouldn't be able to eat anything. but today my friend and i ordered the garlic shrimp tacos, seared ahi tacos, garlic fries and kalua tots (not pictured). the garlic shrimp tacos were okay but the ahi tacos were so delicious! as for the fries, i wasn't really tasting any garlic but the furikake seasoning was good. and the kalua tots are always a hit for me. eating here made me remember how good the food is so i will definitely be coming back again in the near future. i also saw that they have a mimosa flight so very interested in trying that during my next visit :D read more

Got there early and were seated at the picture window with a special view of the Carquinez Bridge We read the daily special board and ordered the garlic shrimp. We were presented with 9 large jumbo shrimp in a tantalizing garlic butter sauce with lime juice served on rice to absorb the delicious sauce. We were in HNL 2 weeks prior and had the famous Italian named garlic shrimp. GRP was far superior in flavor, size and number of shrimp. This should be on the regular menu. The Mac salad was tastier too. Service was spot on with lovely aloha smiles and spirit. Can't wait to return. read more

This was my first time visiting Got Plate in this location and I was surprised at how nice it was inside. The place is clean and we were welcomed and seated quickly. Our server was incredibly nice and patient with us even though it got pretty busy while we were there. I had the garlic shrimp special with fried rice and it was absolutely amazing! The sauce was delicious. My wife had spam and eggs over rice and loved every bite. So last weekend I hopped out Vallejo for the weekend. I had no idea what I wanted and where I was in Vallejo wasn't giving me many options. I resorted to Yelp to help me find a local business out of the ordinary. Which is exactly what I got here. I normally can never find a halfway decent Hawaiian restaurant and would've never guessed there would be one here in Benicia. My experience was pleasant, the food was fresh and exceptional. Their new location is a huge upgrade! You also have a wonderful view looking over Carquinez Strait. The place has a good amount of seating as well! The service is excellent! It is such a relief to not have to worry about that here. Would I Come Back? Yes, when I'm in town, I make it a point to come here. Did I mention they don't use fish sauce!? Parking is is incredibly easy so that's never an issue. It's a shared parking lot with many stores and other restaurants. I typically go on a Sunday for lunch, and even with a party of 5, I haven't had to wait for a table. Seating capacity is probably 45-50 guests so if you're planning a large party, definitely best to call ahead and make a reservation. The Food: Roti & Yellow Curry ($14, Grade A+): Fried roti with a yellow curry dipping sauce. It's a super savory dish, and honestly, I should have had you at "fried." If you're wondering what roti is, think of it as a buttery, flaky, pan-fried flatbread. It's large enough appetizer to share with 3 people, but you're pushing your luck with 4. Pad Thai with Fried Tofu ($16, Grade A): I've had this dish 5 times now. To be completely transparent, it's the exact reason why I can't give Pearl Thai a full 5-star rating, purely because of consistency. The first time I got it, it was perfect. The second and third times, it had no sauce and was dry. The fourth time, I asked them to make it saucy, and they obliged to an almost soupy level. For this fifth time, I just ordered it straight up and zipped my lip on any alterations. As they say, the fifth time was a charm! When it's made with the perfect amount of sauce, this dish is excellent. The noodles have that exact texture you look for in a pad thai, and the egg gets that great scorch from the wok for an added layer of flavor. Also, the tofu has been incredibly fresh every single time. It never tastes slightly spoiled, which happens a lot in smaller towns that don't heavily support plant-based diets where tofu just sits in a fridge eagerly awaiting someone to order it. Mixed Vegetables ($14, Grade A): Sautéed wood ear mushrooms and mixed vegetables in a garlic soy sauce. If you've ever had Pad Pak, you already know this flavor profile. I really enjoyed it, but next time I'll ask for no carrots and maybe half the garlic. Overall, it's a perfect dish that absolutely requires steamed rice to soak up all that great flavor. The BBQ chicken was the star of the plate, juicy, flavorful, and finished with a beautifully caramelized glaze that delivered just the right balance of sweetness and char. The macaroni salad was fresh and creamy, though not quite as sweet as I've enjoyed at other L&L locations, which is simply my personal preference. Most guests would probably never notice the difference. I also appreciated the finely shredded cabbage, which added a crisp, fresh contrast to the richness of the meal, different from other locations where it is steamed leafs. I'm glad I dined in because my plate initially arrived without the teriyaki and katsu sauces. I enjoy alternating between the two with each bite, and one quick request was met with friendly smiles as both sauces were promptly brought to the table. The restaurant was clean, the service was warm and efficient, and there was a steady stream of customers throughout my visit, a good sign that this location has earned a loyal following. I came here a couple times because I was working in the area. The space itself is not large with a few tables inside. And you go up to the counter and put in your order before sitting down or waiting around for takeout. The first time I came here, I got the lunch special, which was the chopped cheese. It was delicious. The second time I felt like I should actually try their barbecue, which was also good and I'm pretty solid deal specially with barbecue prices these days. I like that they also sell other things from their friends and family. One of the times I bought some baked goods from one of their friends. And I saw that they were selling some custom artwork made by one of the family members in the space as well. Just a great spot that adds to the community and is run by really kind folks.

It's like a secret garden with all the trees and plants. Somewhat a treehouse feel as well. They have 2 levels with tables. Beautiful spot sitting there under the tree having a nice cup of joes and a beautiful pastries. Indoor also has some seating along the front and I believe there's a second floor right above the entrance. There's mainly one line for everything. You wait to place your order if you wanted pastries and food. I think you could just order drinks at counter if you're not getting food but don't quote me on that. Everyone was waiting together. Once you reach the top, there's the counter of fresh baked pastries that's made daily. Things do sell out pretty fast. We literally arrived not long after they open and the ham and cheese croissant was already sold out. Besides pastries, there's fresh baked bread. Coffee drinks were pretty good too. After you pick what you want, the cashier is at the end and that's where you pay. There's a counter at the back where drinks are picked up. The whole place has an open kitchen feel where you could actually see all the workers preparing the sweets. In the back kitchen, you could walk by and see the pastries chef preparing and putting together the fresh sweets. It's like you're part of the kitchen. It's a cute place and it does get busy. The locals know about this place so it a hot spot. The holiday makers know which their names is getting out there and making a big splash for them. The plus is that you can show up and get empanadas without having to put in preorders like the other vendors in the area when you don't feel like paying toll.

I use as a finishing oil drizzled on roast vegetables or for pasta dishes. Frantoio olive oil also has known health benefits! A great antioxidant, reduce inflammation, help with lowering cholesterol and for heart health due to high polyphenols. I'm all for it...a daily tablespoon or two will do ya! If you're a bit more adventurous you can go with the other high polyphenol EVOO of Spanish olives called Hojiblanca. Plenty of options of vinegars and olive oils to sample before you buy. Bought the 18yr old aged balsamic which elevates any dressing and your friend's will comment "how come mine doesn't taste like yours" (evil laugh!) ...quality ingredients make a difference! Staff helpful and will provide ideas for pairings with food and educate on the wonderful selection of products. Store shelves were not fully stocked (when I visited in Jan) but you can ask and a bottle will be filled in the back. Plenty of street parking and towards the end of First Street. If you're looking for a laid-back spot by the water with amazing food, Got Plated Lunch in Benicia is a must-visit! We tried the Children's Burger, which was simple but tasty and perfect for little ones. The Elua Combo Plate, with BBQ chicken and pork, came with mac salad (no rice, as they had run out by the time we got there close to closing). The Ultimate Mini Loco Moco was served with a mac ball instead of rice, and honestly, it was so good. I can't wait to return and try the full version with rice. The Garlic Shrimp Special was garlicky and delicious, though at $26, it's definitely a splurge. If you're on a budget, you might want to skip it, but that's no fault of the restaurant--shrimp prices are through the roof right now. Lastly, the Guava Cookie was a pleasant surprise. First time trying Got Plate Lunch, and we were thoroughly impressed. The restaurant had a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that made us feel comfortable right away, with a clean dining area, friendly staff, and the comforting aroma of freshly prepared food filling the space. We ordered the BBQ Pork and Chicken Katsu, and both dishes were excellent. The BBQ pork was exceptionally flavorful, while the Chicken Katsu was crispy, fresh, and cooked to perfection. The portion sizes were generous, and the service was warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The casual island-style ambiance and laid-back vibe made the entire dining experience even more enjoyable. A cool fact is that they host a car show on the second Friday of every month, so come out, enjoy the cars, and have a nice meal. This is certainly a restaurant we look forward to visiting again soon. The audacity this place thinks they have, they will serve you a burnt burger.. Spam sometimes will be burnt and they will still serve it to us "customers". The lady owner is a discriminative bigot, & they are no different from L&L, basically another L&L with another name because it's family ran... They really like to stretch the dollar the portions may seem big, but they really only give you enough to cover the "bedding". Save your money and time.. Food really isn't all that. Not only food isn't all that , they like to prep they're food in the most unsanitary places in they're establishment.. I'm not gonna blast them since I'm a former employee but these owners know EXACTLY what they're doing wrong. read more

Food is just ok - service on the other hand is not. Ordered a to go order and waiting an half hour before asking the waitress to check on it. She never came back and followed up so I went inside restaurant after another 10 minutes and saw my order sitting ready to go in kitchen. I brought this to her attention and finally got my food but only after asking her why she didn;t follow up with me and receive a very blank look of non-comprehension. My wife and I like to eat here because we can have our small dog with us on the patio right on 1st street, and because the food is really good. The prices are about right, and we have always had great service. We haven't tried the food truck at the farmer's market, but my son says that it's just as good as the 1st street location. Their name is a little odd, but don't let that distract you from a great place to grab lunch :) read more
