Both were super attentive and friendly, definitely the highlight of the visit. I started with the French onion soup. Unfortunately, it missed the mark. The cheese on top wasn't bubbly or crusted how I like it, and the soup itself wasn't even hot. Kind of bland too, which was disappointing. I ordered the eggs Benedict after that. It was just okay nothing special, but not terrible either. I'm not totally writing them off. Solid B choice. Stopped in here for lunch and pleasantly surprised. I grabbed a pasta dish with vegetables called Pasta Murphy. Supposed to be a half plate but it was large. When I called barely could get my order but ok let's blame that on phone connections ask for eggs over easy with cooked onions curly fries and bacon .... My husband and friend and I went here for lunch and honestly idk why this has 2.9 stars!! The food was plenty!!! And they had lunch specials for $12 which includes either a soup or salad, an entree and dessert that you can choose either ice cream, pudding or jello. I got the tuna jackets that came with zucchini fries, the tomato and rice soup and rice pudding. Filled me up plenty! My husband my got a Cuban sandwich with curly fries! Pretty straightforward, no-nonsense diner that doesn't skimp you when it comes to portions. As you might expect, there are some gigantic amounts of food that will likely put you into a deep coma at relatively reasonable prices. The breakfast menu here wasn't gigantic but it had all of the key things you'd expect. One surprising plus about this place was that their coffee was pretty decent. I had a few cups and enjoyed it more than the average diner coffee. The food itself was again, straightforward. The breakfast combo I got had everything you'd expect, eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, home fries etc. All were prepared nicely although I didn't love the sausage as much as the other food in terms of the flavor. The service was quite good and friendly. Coffee refills came at a reasonable clip and host at the counter dealing with the bill was nice as well. I honestly feel this place has potential to do so much better. I grew up coming here and I was in love with the breakfast but I brought my family today, the servers are good but they don't give a welcome or introduction, this will go a longg way with their tip and the overall experience. The food is okay, but I was extremely disappointed with the huevos rancheros: not good at all. The tortillas are so overloaded with parboiled rice and beans that have no Mexican flavor, the guacamole is premade and not good this dish is extremely disappointing I did not eat. The eggs came out super undercooked I had to ask for them to be cooked a bit more. The home fries are not good, I am leaving 3 stars because the egg bacon and cheese on a roll was good and the servers are pleasant but they need additional help like bussers to clean tables so it helps with the overall exprience I'll be back to see if there are improvements! Went for an early dinner with a friend, so happy we did. Our waiter Willem was outstanding, he was attentive and gave us time to order without hovering. The food was amazing! I had meatloaf which came with three thick slices covered with caramelized onions, delicious mashed potatoes and corn. My friend had the turkey dinner with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. Both dinners came with soup and a very appetizing salad. We both had to take home our leftovers, too much food! My friends and have been here a few times and will continue to come back. I received an email today, 5/26/25 stating that today is the last day for the 15% discount, MEMORIAL15 for online orders of $40 or more. As a regular customer, I signed in, input my order and when I entered the code for the discount, it came up that it was not valid. I called to report this to the Ridgefield location. The woman who answered told me that it is not available. I questioned why the email was sent to me TODAY to get the offer. She wouldn't budge. I always have difficulties with this woman. I thought It was about time to update my review of the Gotham City diner. Due to the two children under 4 that now reside in my home we usually order in a lot more then visiting the restaurant. The delivery is always great!!! Awesome improvement, the food arrives very quickly and there is rarely an error now. Whenever there is an error they always adjust it and correct it quickly. About 6 months ago they updated the menu. All of the new offerings are fantastic. The breakfast there is great and is comparable to all of the well known breakfast spots in the area. My chicken came with rosemary roasted potatoes, a generous serving of steamed veggies. I had the chicken soup and finished with rice pudding. The chef really knows how to cook, the server is very experienced- 25 years in the same restaurant. Update on March 12 I went last Wednesday for breakfast and later for dinner. The breakfast was very good; the dinner was a disappointment. I ordered roast Turkey, the stuffing was ransid, the potato was stale. The meat tasted left-over... yuck. read more

It was almost 12:37AM and Gotham City was the closest diner we could think of. We were seated immediately but we were warned they had to close up by 1:30AM. That was fine by us. My friend was craving pancakes but he didn't want too many so I agreed to split a short stack with him. Man, they were some of the best pancakes I've ever had. They were fluffy and moist and wonderful. My friends also opted for sides of mashed potatoes and they implored me to try some. I'm glad I did. The mashed potatoes were great. They had just the right amount of buttery flavor with the potatoes. All that said, this review is probably closer to 3.5 stars, but I found many of the things to be overpriced. Sometimes although my husband and I are young, we eat dinner at times some would consider "the early bird special". This particularly happens when we are on vacation. I hate to give mom and pop/local favorites an average rating but sadly I was not impressed. Known as the batman diner right off route 4, Gotham has plenty of options and your typical diner menu. I ordered takeout and got the lancaster pretzel sandwich. Sounded tempting with apples pepper cheese and chicken on a pretzel roll. Huge disappointment as the chicken was 90% rubber and I could barely chew it. Fries were soggy and the roll didnt even taste like a pretzel. Only bright spot were the pickles and cole slaw were very tasty. I ordered a little before 5 so maybe I got a disgruntled chef before a shift change. Im sure other items on the menu are very good, but avoid ordering the pretzel sandwich. Might give Gotham one more chance but depends. read more

The waiter who served us was helpful and worked fast despite how busy it suddenly got. However, the front desk was strange.. as soon as I walked in, the lady at the front desk was on the phone and points me where to go without saying a word. I didn't fully get what she meant, so I waited until she got off the phone to ask. After she hangs up, she said my table is in the back, I only saw two tables with Asian customers. I was getting confused. I didn't know who they were.. she asked, "aren't you waiting for someone?" I told her, "I'm waiting for my friend, who's not there yet, and I need a table." She acknowledged what I said, but proceeded to seat the people AFTER me. I asked aloud, "why is she making me wait?" maybe she didn't hear me or ignored me, even though I'm visibly pregnant. She then sat me down without a word. I should've asked her what made her assume I knew those people, but at the time I was just confused and wanted to sit down right away. Maybe management needs to be more involved up front or maybe the lady on the front desk should've asked what can she do to help rather than to assume I know Asian people.. Went for Midnight Meal Food - 5/5. These sliders were perfect to satisfy my midnight hunger cravings. The brisket was fork tender with the crispy onion's adding all that delicious crunch to make a great contrast. The creamy yet slightly tart goat cheese really brought out the sweet and tangy BBQ sauce and the arugula added a good level of astringency to balance it all out. Bread was nicely toasted and held well. Delicious! Service - 4/5. For the late hours, the service was more attentive than I expected and courteous. Value - 5/5. The sliders just have everything you would want in a bite size form and runs at $9.50. Their sizes are good with plenty of meat and the quality is just as great as regular hour food.
