Cake made by Jennifer for my vow renewals.

Jennifer did a phenomenal job in making a cake for my vow renewal celebration with my husband. Not only did the cake taste sensational (it was strawberry cake with a strawberry filling and vanilla frosting) but it looked AMAZING! Jennifer nailed my vision and emulated the exact inspo pic I shared with her. I highly recommend!

We ordered our wedding cake from Salt Cake City last October and it was absolutely incredible. Jennifer was a pleasure to communicate with and the pickup and cake stand drop-off went very smoothly. If we didn't live out of state, we'd be back for every special occasion! Bonus - we pulled the leftover cake from the freezer after 9 months and it was still moist and flavorful.

Our cake from Salt Cake City was beautiful as well as delicious! Jennifer was amazing! She communicated well and worked with us on ideas for the design of the cake which turned out exactly as we requested! The next time we need a cake we will be ordering from Salt Cake City!

It's a cellular peptide cake...with mint frosting. Delicious.

I got married recently and I needed a cake. Not just any cake, though, one of Counselor Troi's torso. (If you don't understand why, please watch the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode called "Phantasms." Season seven, episode six.) I thought it would be easy to find someone to make said cake. After all, it's just a sheet cake, right? Tiered cakes are probably much more complicated. For whatever reason, I had a really difficult time finding someone to make this cake for my husband and me. I e-mailed and called several bakers, and they either blew me off or acted like I was a freak of nature for even considering such a cake. I was getting discouraged. Then I received a reply to my cake related query from Jennifer, who was a few days late in responding because she had just returned from her honeymoon. Not only *could* she make the cake, but she was very excited to do so, and gave me a very fair estimate. The final product was everything we'd hoped for and more, and Jennifer was just the best to work with. She replies to e-mails very quickly and answered all of our questions. Best of all, the cake was delicious and a huge hit at our wedding! So all I can say is that whatever your cake needs are (traditional or non-traditional), Jennifer will make it happen.

My awesome surprise grooms cake for my husband. Looked fantastic and tasted delicious!

You guys, this is going be long, but bare with me. This will be a very detailed comprehensive review. I found Jennifer at Salt Cake City, by just searching online. I wanted a cute cake for my daughter's first birthday and all of the quotes I was given for the cake I wanted were ranging from $150-$210. Jennifer was about $145 ($153 with tax). Her prices were very competitive. Also, from looking at her cake albums online, I could tell that this wasn't just a "mom" hobby. Everything was very professional and clean. Well, I e-mailed her and at the time I was trying to figure out if I wanted to go with her or another baker I was in contact with. My cake idea was very specific and my price range was also. The other baker didn't seem as willing to negotiate or work with me, but Jennifer was AMAZING. She took into consideration my price range and the overall look I was going for and gave me several different options so that she could get me what I wanted at a price I was comfortable at. Once we set a date, I e-mailed her a few different times and changed the size of my cake. Then about 3 days before the party, my daughter got chicken pox, I e-mailed Jennifer and asked her if she could move the cake to next weekend, and she was totally fine with that. Then I changed the cake size again. By this point in time, if I were her, I would've been completely frustrated and irritated. If she was, she didn't show it in the slightest. She was responsive, kind, and very willing to work with me. I'm very grateful for that. The day came to pick up the cake, I honestly thought I was going to be heading to a store location because of the professionalism I had seen in her cake making and also her willingness to work with me. Also, there was a list of 30+ flavors on her website. Naturally, I thought she must have a store with a very large kitchen. I thought she had a team of people working for her or something. When I got the pick up information I noticed that it was a residential neighborhood and the directions were to a house. I went to pick up my cake and Jennifer was SO SWEET and helpful. I noticed upon entering her house that she was one busy woman. She had cakes everywhere! They were lining the living room and all available counter space. I am a neat freak and even with all these cakes, her kitchen was spotless! You can tell that she was very serious and professional about her business. She helped me load my cake out to the car and everything went smoothly. Now to the cake........ Oh. My. Gosh. I'm not one for fondant, but wow. I ordered a Alice in Wonderland inspired cake with "Riah in One-derland" writing on it. I wanted the cake to have a more class-tea party look unlike the traditional wonky decor you usually get with Alice in Wonderland. It was spot on. I literally wouldn't have changed one thing. Actually, when I first picked it up and she said, "Everything is edible", I thought in my head, "Ya, except those flowers you stuck in there." They honestly looked exactly like fake flowers you'd get from Micheal's. Nope! They were fondant. I couldn't get over how real they looked. Several people at the party actually commented on the flowers specifically and how real they looked. From looking at her designs on her website, I wasn't too worried about the look of the cake, I was however concerned about the taste. I've eaten a few beautiful looking fondant cakes, but the beauty stopped once that puppy was sliced. Jennifer's cake was nothing like those. Besides being beautiful on the outside, the taste was equally amazing. The thing I liked most was that there was a layer of buttercream under all of the fondant, so even if you didn't care for the taste or texture of the fondant, you could simply peel it back and have a regular cake. As for the flavors, as mentioned before, Jennifer has MANY flavors to choose from. Being a first time buyer, I went a little safe with my flavors as I wan't sure how her cakes would be. For my bottom tier I ordered the "Snow White" cake from her menu. It was a classic white cake with white buttercream. It was delicious, but again, safe. For my second layer I went a bit more adventurous and did the "Orange Cream" to get some bright spring flavors in there. You guys. YOU GUYS! It tasted just like an orange cream sickle. Since it was the second tier, and smaller than the bottom, everyone was fighting over it. IT WAS SO GOOD! Both cakes were moist. The orange flavor was subtle and not too overpowering. It also tasted natural and not artificial. When I order again I will definitely try some of her other flavors At first my family thought I was being a little crazy ordering a cake that was over $100. We are usually the Costco/Sam's Club sheet cake crew, but after eating Jennifer's cake, my mom made several comments about how this might have to become a tradition for bigger life events. I would recommend Jennifer to any body. If I ever order a special cake again, I won't be going anywhere but to her.

SO GOOD! Jennifer is amazing. Super easy to communicate with (I don't actually think we spoke on the phone at all... we met once then the rest of our correspondences were through email), reasonably priced, makes DELICIOUS and beautiful cakes! We ordered enough cupcakes for 85 people, 60 came, and (in addition to the 24 vegan cupcakes we purchased through a different vendor) ALL the cupcakes were gone in a matter of minutes. Everyone came up to us and complemented how delicious they were! We have our stand alone cake topper in the freezer awaiting our first anniversary and every day I see it in the freezer, I am so tempted to dive in for just one more bite!!

Elegant and simple - exactly what we wanted!

My co-workers love when I bring in their cream cheese and jalepenos filled rolls. I have never been a fan of the donuts due to the more plain Spanish inspiration vs, French, but they have really good custard filled donuts with a hard chocolate coating.

The moment you walk in,…read moreyou're greeted with an overwhelming variety of breads, pastries, and cakes--there's truly something for everyone. The selection is massive, and everything looks fresh and inviting. We tried their tres leches cake and caramel pudding cake, and both were absolutely delicious. The tres leches was moist and rich without being overly sweet, and the caramel pudding cake had a silky texture with just the right amount of sweetness. We also sampled a few other baked goods, and everything we tried was solid--clearly made with care. One thing that could improve the experience for first-time visitors is labeling. None of the items are named or described, so unless you're already familiar with traditional Mexican pastries, it can be a bit of a guessing game. It would be really helpful if they labeled each item or provided a menu guide. That said, if you're open to a little adventure--or already know your conchas from your cuernitos--this place is definitely worth visiting. I'll be back to try even more from their incredible selection.
