This diner delivered some much needed sustenance for my group on the road. After missing out of pirogies after having a night in Pittsburgh, made sure to get some fried ones for the table and that was a great move. Onions perfectly cooked and plenty of sour cream to go around. I got myself a tuna sandwich and my companion got the turkey Rueben, made sure to split and delicious all around. The tuna sandwich was a classic diner move and really enjoyed the Rueben as well. Staff was attentive and made sure we all got plenty of coffee and water. Definitely recommend. read more

Nicely done, after years of passing this restaurant by we decided to go in and try it. Full parking lot, full restaurant, happy customers, great food, great service and great portions. I had the biscuits and gravy and my breakfast partner had and omelette more vegetarian. Visited Gourmet for the first time this morning for breakfast with my husband. I have driven by many times but never stopped in. Today we were looking to try somewhere new so we popped in. My husband had a coffee, pancakes, eggs, and bacon. I had the spinach and feta omelet with home fries. Overall, I thought it was good. Not the best breakfast I have ever had but definitely still good. I think my husband agreed. The omelet was very tasty and had large chunks of feta and lots of spinach. I am happy to report that after so many of us keep passing this nondescript diner by, there is no reason to do so anymore! I had done the same for many years, but decided today to proceed with caution, and possibly take one for the team. I am happy to report that this local classic diner is the real deal, and I truly enjoyed my dinner, service, and ambiance there! The place apparently changed hands in the last century sometime, and is now run by another family that greatly stepped up their game. In fact, the place reminds me of a smaller Joe's Deli restaurant or George's Kitchen, and we all know how awesome those classic diners are. So if you want good quality home cooked, affordable meals (half the price of the 'chains'), good service, and a classic 'old school' diner (with booths and tables), this place is no longer 'drive by'! We went on Saturday night before going to see a movie. Maybe 5 tables of ppl were eating. We waited a couple of mins before being told to seat ourselves. After sitting a few minutes, my hubby got up and got us both menus, which took us a few minutes to decide, and we were YET to get water or even a greeting from the ladies.Looking around to see if we could get their attn, we saw the ladies cleaning off a table instead of acknowledging us. I gotta say, this place used to be a good place to have breakfast on the go from time to time when it opened several years back. The food was hot and the coffee was good at least. It had been at least a year or two since I had been here but this last time (11-2013), the food was cold, bacon was burnt and hard and my French toast was too dry and cold as well. Maybe it was an off day but based on the other reviews, it appears to be a problem going on in the last year. I have meet the owner since the place opened and she is very friendly. She is very welcoming toward any customer and really appreciates regulars. I feel I must tell her about the latest food quality issues :( Will update if this happens. read more

The gyro omelette, add spinach, tomato, and feta with a side of tzatziki. I'm in heaven. I've tried replicating it at other diners and not a chance. Very inexpensive but the quality of the food is lacking. You do get what you pay for and in this case I paid for the fried fish special which was frozen fish wedges that were over cooked and greasy. My family really liked the breaded veal, without the gravy, but there are plenty of good options, most of which come with at least soup and salad.
