Unfortunately, since I wrote my first review, University Dental Arts has come under new management. Everything I said complimentary in my last review is null and void. It appears and feels it is all about money now. Expensive treatments and procedures are pushed were pushed upon me at every turn. If you weren't spending the money you were treated as if you were a bother, so much so I left the practice because of that feeling. Even with free cleaning and exams under my insurance, I never left UDA without a bill. It is just a shadow of its former self, and that is a shame. read more

Came to apartment building and gave free toothbrush in exchange for a check up. At the check up they told me I had 3 cavities and gingivitis, went to two other facilities for a second opinion because I've never had a cavity or any issues in my mouth and I had no cavities and no gingivitis. They said the special cleaning I needed to get would be around $150 and they tried charging me $350+ I tried fighting the charge with their collections company and only paid $150 like they original stated at the appointment and they settled it, a year later they're reaching out again to get more money!! Crazy!!!! They try to upsell you the world and never verify insurance or cost first. Beware! read more

Dr. Rabichev is absolutely fantastic! I can not recommend him or his office staff enough! I have extreme dental anxiety and I have never felt more comfortable in a dental office than I did here. I was in pain and they were able to fit me in same day which is something that I haven't had before. He was thorough and able to identify the problem quickly. While he couldn't remove my wisdom teeth himself, he was able to refer me to an amazing oral surgeon that works directly with his office and got me in the next day! I will be going back in January for my new patient exam and I'm ready to finally take oral health seriously! read more

These guys popped up at an apartment event and gave out toothbrushes as incentives to get new patients in. I made an appointment and went in to a lobby full of new patients all there for new intakes which I believed to be a red flag. They claimed to be in network but in fact this was false as they were unsure if my insurance would cover a basic cleaning. The hygienist assigned to me was forceful and trying to get X-rays done which I wasn't sure if my insurance covered. I relayed this, and the passive aggressive staff started rolling their eyes and scuffing at me due to my concern around being stuck with a large bill from them for "services not covered" by insurance. They tried to tell me because I had accepted the toothbrush, I was effectively locked in. I said nope, told them I'd bring it back and cut ties and to not follow up with any attempts. What can be so bad about a practice to have lost all their patients and be so desperate for new ones that all 6 other patients were there for new appointments too. Red flags. Fake smiles. Bitchy desk staff. Awful place. Beware. read more

We have been patients for 15 years here and since the practice was sold to a large group, they have completely changed. My wife has spent more in the past year on dental care then she has on her cancer treatment and is now being told by a new dentist that many of the treatments she had were not necessary, including extractions and antibiotic gels. The hygenists seem nice, the dentist seems nice, but we don't feel we can trust them to give accurate advice over their profit motive. We have left the practice. read more

Please be aware if you get any dental work done at University Dental Arts they won't honor the warranty if the dentist leaves the company. I've been going to University Dental Arts for around 15 years. Service under Dr. Redford was always really good. Dr. Redford installed a crown for me less than a year ago. During my cleaning x-rays Dr. Rabus did not like how the crown was installed and thinks it should be re-done. I was told the warranty would not apply because Dr. Redford retired, even though it is the same company. They offered a discount, but because insurance will not pay anything for second install, i will be out of pocket $500+. Be aware of this scam before committing to any long term dental work. read more

I was a patient of Dr. Redford's and was told by the front desk that he had retired. I later found out that was a lie - he has just switched practices. However I assumed my dental work would proceed smoothly and Delta Dental would still be accepted by this office as I was not informed otherwise by the all new staff. However, my bill today was $153 over what they quoted to me days ago over the phone. I called on Monday to ask how much my payment would be for today (Wednesday) and was told it would be $70. Either I was not informed that they no longer accept Delta or they overcharged me by $153 today. I am annoyed the price difference was not explained and also that they do not seem to be the same professional business anymore. All the reviews on yelp before this year are from that old business with Redford, not this new group. So, please beware. This is my new dental office, and I am very happy with the quality of service I receive - both in customer service and level of dentistry. The front desk team is kind and accommodating, my hygienist is personable and thorough in her work, and Dr. Redford is sweet, approachable, and knowledgeable. My old standard Hygienist retired, and since then I have had sub-par experiences with very young hygenists and very messy teeth cleanings. The most recent visit, the hygienist actually lost her temper with me. In addition, the office music was blaring WILD HORSES by the Stones, and the Hygienist was blaring HGTV and spraying my face with dental liquids, even getting visibly pissed when I asked to be rinsed. I actually stopped the service, took off my paper bib, and walked out. So we all know I won't be back. This is sad after 10 years to have to find a new office, but that stuff don't fly... Dr. Redmun himself is a competent nice dentist, but the office staff for cleaning has chased me away! read more

I love this dentist! It's right down the street from my house and they have a great professional staff who is helpful and works with you. The place is very clean and they always explain everything whenever I have questions. Probably one of the best dental experiences I've had. I really like Dr Redford but his office staff is incompetent and this causes a plethora of issues for the patient. They require payment at the time of service but overcharge consistently above their negotiated rate with the insurance companies. Then it is a nightmare to try to get your money back. I have a friend who goes to them also and has repeatedly had the exact same issues. Now, I've had a tooth needing a crown since August but I wanted an exact amount that I would owe from the insurance company before I scheduled it since the staff is so unreliable and I didn't want to be overcharged. The insurance company advised that they needed to request it but I haven't received anything despite multiple promises that they would get it for me. It is now Nov and I have contacted them multiple times without any response and my tooth has become a problem. I have called, emailed, and texted and nothing. It's a shame because I think Dr Redford is great but these administrative issues are a nightmare. read more

I really like this office. Everyone is so friendly and professional! Dr. Redford and his team are wonderful and I have never had any problems whatsoever. My husband and I have been coming here for years and it's been great. No long waits, we never feel in the dark, we are not scammed out of any type of extra procedures (i.e. money). It's just been an all around good experience. I've referred many friends here and they have no complaints either. Dr. Redford, Julie, Melissa, Susan, et. al....they're all fantastic. And they have been together forever so that's saying something! Plus, their new offices in LoDo is very nice and they validate parking too. I have not one bad thing to say. Stay away. Stay far far away. I'd give one star, but the hygenists are great and I don't want to say one bad thing about them. My husband chose this dental facility along with Dr.Redford, right after we moved here from out of town. I stayed far too long out of necessity and wish I had left sooner.. I had a nightmare of an experience. ... One of my teeth had to be filled THREE TIMES. The first time, the assistant filled my tooth ( didn't think that was allowed), left and it was a hot mess. Came back, refilled again, still a hot mess---third time's a charm you say? Guess again. I won't even tell you about the time they drilled a hole in my crown by accident...oh wait, I just did. I had numerous other "fillings" done here and was just informed by my new, AWESOME dentist that they're not even properly bonded to my teeth. Oh yeah and that one that was filled 3+ times? My tooth doesn't even look like a tooth anymore. Can we say "let's patch her up with some white silly putty"!!! Basically, I will be blowing through my dental benefits very soon because almost everything that was done by Dr.Redford has to be corrected. I saw the photos, the new dentist isn't pulling a fast one.... Sloppy, sloppy, shoddy, shoddy. My beautiful teeth that my folks paid so dearly to fix are sort of in a sad state right now. I do not recommend Dr. Redford. I echo the previous review that the hygienists are great, but Redford is not. Dr. Redford neglected to show up to my last two appointments (The first time he simply no-showed because I was his only morning appointment and he wanted to sleep-in. The second time I got a call one week in advance saying he is on vacation - they offered me the chance to reschedule FOUR months later, but I opted to keep my appointment). As luck would have it, I have a slowly receding gum line that has not gotten any attention since Redford doesn't show up to my appointments and now I need a costly, painful skin graft. This could have been completely prevented had I known about the issue or what is causing it (I simply needed to not brush my teeth so hard). To compound the matter, he is trying to sell me a night-guard (which I do need) in the next two weeks at a discount price ($200) and after January 1st, the price goes back up ($375). I wouldn't expect this sort of promotional "used car salesman" technique from a medical professional, but there you have it. Dr. Redford, thank you for your service. read more

Dr Redford does not listen to his patients. I asked for a very simple procedure to smooth out a rough spot on my tooth. Next thing I knew he shortened my entire tooth by at least 2mm. Geez, I don't know what is wrong with him, it's not like you can grow a tooth back. Unbelievable, and he acted as if it was no big deal.. Never going back! read more

I had an issue with a crown they put on (over a year after it was placed), and despite it not being 100% clear whether it was University Dental Arts' fault, Dr. Redford immediately offered to replace my crown at no additional cost to me, because he felt it was the right thing to do. I began going to this dentist office a little over a year ago after my dentist and hygienist of over 15 years retired, this office was recommended to me by a colleague in my office who had recently starting going there. My first visit was a little unsettling as the my initial "consultation" with the dentist was incredibly cold, and left me feeling like he was just going through the motions and didn't really care about learning anything about my past dental experience. The first impression I got of him wasn't good at all, but I figured I rarely have had a significant need for the dentist, a solid hygienist is what I value most. The hygienist, Debbie, that I had for three cleanings was great! I say "was" because I just found she is no longer at the office and moved out of town. On my recent (and last) visit I was greeted by the hygienist that took over my cleaning appt.. and my immediate impression was "what is going on here". She was rude and when I asked where my usual hygienist was she became very irritated. She stated that there were two new hygienist in the office and immediately went into asking me to get x-rays and other misc. services that I wasn't scheduled for and didn't need at the time. When I said no thank you to her request and asked to simply have the cleaning I was scheduled for, she became unengaged and short with me and because I chose not to get the X-rays she then told me she wouldn't conduct the cleaning and asked to show me to the door. I was at a loss for words... but after a few seconds I thought that it was best just to get out and proceed in finding a new dentist office and walked out. I have no problem in getting customary dental services outside of the basic cleaning (i.e. x-rays, oral exams, etc.) but not on a whim because there is new staff. The entire time the dentist was no where to be found or asked to come and discuss any part of this with me. I would not recommend this dental office as it appears to me that they have some major issues with leadership and staff and seem to prioritize what they can bill your insurance for not what your actual need is. My overall take..This is the old churn and burn dental office of the past, with high turnover in staff and hiring staff with no customer service skills and unproffesional. It seems to me that this office just cares about getting you in and out so they can get the bill to your insurance carrier for payment There is no interest in building long lasting relationships at this office. read more

I agree stay away! I liked the hygienists , however, the dentist does not do your fillings, he simply numbs you, drills you and hands you off to an assistant. The assistant hit me in the face because she was so clumsy and did not say sorry. The work that the dentist "checked over" was all wrong. I have an open contact where food gets stuck and the filling is too high and hurts when I bit ( this did not exist before). I simply came in because I had a small chip in a filling! Now my tooth is hurting and when I called to have the dentist fix it, I asked for a 4pm appointment BC I could not take anymore time off from work. The office was unwilling to accommodate me until 8 days from Now. STAY AWAY! Terrible customer service. I will not be returning! I came out worse than we I entered. read more

I have been going to University Dental Arts for a long time and after I retired and wasn't downtown anymore i have continued going to them. Julie is my Hygienist and she is wonderful, friendly and competent. I have not dealt a lot with Dr Redford because I don't usually need anything done but what I have had done I don't have any complaints and he is always friendly. read more
