GP Piping installed a Toto Neorest LS at our home in carmel. They took delivery of the Toto from Lowe's, came at the promised date and time, removed our old toilet and installed the new Toto. The Toto was larger than the toilet being replaced and so they had to relocate the water line which they did for free as part of the installation. After a previous company was a no-show, this guy had no openings until Monday, but squeezed me in on a Friday, and got it done fast.

Caleb, the president of GP Piping, is fast at fixing plumbing mistakes and installing new plumbing. Initially, he comes across as polite and positive. But I can only recommend him for short projects, such as installing faucets and water heaters. I made the mistake of hiring him for the demo and plumbing renovation of two bathrooms. 1. During the demo, he didn't properly protect my lighted mirror which is hard-wired. He covered only the front of it, and when demoing my vanity, a piece of the vanity flew off and took a chip out of the reflective area under the glass. When I pointed it out to him, he covered the sides, but never found me a solution to fix the mirrored area and refused to pay for the damage. 2. Caleb installed a defective tub without fully checking it out in advance to see that it was warped. After he installed it, the tilers said it was making popping noises when they stood in it before they tiled the wall. At first Caleb said that he only stood in the back of the tub and there was no noise, so he installed it. But Caleb had to remove the tub and install another one with new piping. When it was time to pay the final plumbing bill, he changed his story saying he did check out the whole tub and it wasn't making a popping noise before he installed it. He argued with me about it and charged me hundreds of dollars more for redoing the installation and piping which I did not feel was ethical because he should not have installed a defective tub in the first place. 3. Caleb kept reminding me that his rate was $200 an hour, although he bid on the project at a fixed rate. $200 an hour is the highest rate possible in this area. 4. When it was time to pay the final bill, he also charged me an additional $450 for materials but never provided me with a receipt. He insisted that the materials were for supplies that he kept in his truck, which he didn't keep track of and didn't have receipts for! 5. Caleb arrived 45 minutes to an hour late on most days. He never contacted me to say he was running late, I always had to contact him first. I let him know that I was not happy with his lack of communication. He was also unreliable at returning messages and calls about what days he would be able to work which caused me a great deal of stress. I was glad to have him finish this project and to be finished with him. Caleb was unwilling to accept responsibility for his mistakes but instead overcharged me for the time it took to fix them. I would not recommend him due to his being argumentative, dishonest, and unprofessional. read more

I wanted to compliment this company on how well they managed our leak. We have a home in pacific grove, and it was found there was a leak in the ceiling right above our fridge. Directly above is the upstairs bathroom and shower. I called one plumbing company and when they came out, they didn't really look around and try to find the solution. I called Caleb after reading some of the yelp reviews. We were able to schedule in a timely manner as he knew how anxious I felt about having a leak. His team came out the next day to figure where the leak was. They not only found 1, but 3!! They also communicated exactly what they were going to do, in terms of opening up access in the walls. They were able to repair all the leaks within 3 days. He also noticed we had a 20 year old water heater. Since they had to get access through our garage and remove the current heater, we decided to use them for replacing our water heater. The price was reasonable as I researched online. I met the team during their work, they are super nice, explaining everything they found and what they were doing. After even after each day of work, the work area was spotless. Now there is currently no leak in our home, we have a Brand new water heater with warranty in case anything happens. I live in Corralitos, Santa Cruz county. I awoke this morning to a flooded back yard and potting shed. An underground pipe was gushing water through a wooden retaining wall behind a garage.
