BEWARE ---We had Chris Wilson Plumbing & Heating Repairs come out when our HVAC system stopped working three months ago. The technician went under the house, looked things over, and told us the system could be repaired for about $1,300 but strongly suggested we replace the entire unit instead since it was older. The replacement estimate came in around $14,000. Since we live in Monterey and rely on our heater this was really stressful, and the price made us pause. Before making such a big decision, we decided to get a second opinion. Another company came out, diagnosed the issue, fixed it for $300, and the system has been running perfectly for a few months now. Based on that experience, the initial recommendation we received was way off. I'd strongly encourage anyone dealing with expensive HVAC repairs or replacement quotes to get a second opinion before moving forward. read more

A few days later, Joseph installed the replacement part and also noticed how the mice had been getting in. He cut and repurposed a discarded screen to cover the gaps and prevent future issues. We were in a terrible spot late at night when a pipe burst outside our bedroom window. It was loud, beginning to flood our courtyard and we couldn't find the shut off valve. I called Chris Wilson's Plumbing and lucky for us they sent out Wayne. He arrived and was literally running to get the water turned off. He sensed our urgency and saw the potential damage if the water continued to flow. Wayne was comprehensive in analyzing the problem when he also identified the emergency shut off valve was installed incorrectly and wasn't operating as it should have. Wayne helped us get through a serious sewer line and sump pump replacement at our house in Carmel. He was communicative, friendly and on time always. The work was done quickly and by the book, with city permits handled and communication to all the nearby neighbors. Despite the complexity, once the permits were handled, the work was done in one day flat! From start to finish, Chris Wilson delivered! Prompt service. Knowledgeable and fully competent technician. The clogged sewer line was diagnosed, snaked and the problem was resolved in a very timely fashion. The clog was in a newish ADU that has an ultra low flow toilet that is used infrequently. The lateral sewer line is new and installed by Chris Wilson, so that was not the problem. We recently had guests unfamiliar with the need to flush once for liquids, 2-3 times for solids plus they acknowledged overdoing the TP. We needed a new sink and toilet installed, and they had someone named Ramiro come out to take a look. Friendly guy, but he bragged too much about how he was "better than most" and it was the arrogance that should've been a red flag. The toilet was leaking blue cleaning fluid after his installation, and he basically just told us "Yeah, it'll do that." Without offering an explanation as to why or if he could fix it. Before he even left the driveway, as we were handling payment, my husband noticed the sink was leaking into the cabinet. He came back inside and took a look at it, fiddled with it for less than sixty seconds, and said it was fixed. Didn't run the water to check. Less than 24 hours later it began leaking again. We called to have someone come back, and was asked "Is this an emergency?" We said no, we could wait. We put a trash can under the sink and have been using the other bathroom sink all the way downstairs. An annoying inconvenience, but not exactly an emergency. We were told someone would call us back. They never did. We were completely ghosted and it's been more than two weeks. We finally gave up on Chris Wilson plumbing and called Landmark. They came out within 24 hours and identified the problem immediately. Ramiro had tightened the valve so much that the underside of the sink basin had CHIPPED and was actively leaking water into our vanity cabinet. Another $500 to fix a problem we didn't even have in the first place. I called to try and make things right, but nobody ever got back to us. Terrible customer service. Go with Landmark! read more

I had a water leak on my water main so I called Chris Wilson plumbing Saturday and a guy named Ramiro came out and quoted us $1800 to fix the leak so he dug a hole so he could cut the pipe while he was doing that he broke the water meter and said he will be back tomorrow morning to fix it... well it's been two days and he still hasn't came to fix it! I have a hole in my front yard that someone can easily fall into! So I called him Monday asking why he wasn't at my house fixing what he broke he said it's not his fault that he could come tomorrow being Tuesday. I called the office manager she wasn't much help either she resorted to notifying me that I have a terrible attitude. I will never be calling Chris Wilson plumbing again absolutely terrible experience!!!!!!! read more

For 4/11/2024, my mother scheduled heater servicing. A plumber was sent out and spent an hour with the unit. He broke the latch to the unit door, couldn't put it back on so taped it in place. Later that night, the door fell off the unit and crashed to the ground. When propping the door up against the unit, we noticed a small vintage item that hung on a nearby wall, was gone. We cannot find it!! The whole experience is very concerning, as I also learned from my mother, after the check was written, the plumber put his arm around her waist and guided her away from the backdoor area where the unit lives, towards the front door. Was this to prevent her from seeing he stole something? Why would he do that? Did he even finish the job? Did he not want her to see the taped up door? This is not cool!! We are requesting to have this job corrected. But not by the guy who came out the first time! read more
