On Tuesday I asked them to come Friday to replace 2 shut off valves under the bathroom sink. They said they would be out Friday Morning. They didn't arrive until 1:30. Cost was $975 (really). I needed it done for a guest coming the next day. He was here for 45 min. After he left, an hour later, there was a drip under the replaced valve. I had to fix it myself. Very expensive for the quality of workmanship delivered. Had to pay $125+ just to get them to take a look at the problems and then got book rates for labor only took a few hours to complete the work. If they are going to quote book rates, they should quote those up front instead of making you pay to have the plumber come to the house at a fee and then hit you with the high rates. I was in a pinch for time and had to pay. Hourly rate works out to more than $400 per including an hour for driving and parts. read more

Buyer Beware!! I felt extremely taken advantage of. I faced a clogged kitchen sink that needed to be fixed that day. I was charged $1270 for it to be snaked. After a follow up call to the owner of the company, he even stated that another plumber would probably think that was too much to charge for a drain being snaked. Initial situation: Had John come out to handle a backup I had in the master bath. Came out first thing in the morning after I called at 10PM the night before. Handled everything quickly, professionally and honestly. John told me what the issue was and how to prevent it from happening again. Had to climb up on my roof and remove the toilet and work the issue from multiple areas. Overall job didn't take too long. Honestly extremely satisfied with the service. Edit: three days after the job, the same issue started happening. Called to ask if the company will provide a warranty review. They first tried to say I must have caused another clog in three days. I told them that's impossible and said the same issue exists, wasn't fully resolved. They told me they'd have to charge me AGAIN for the same exact job, which was about $400 to remove the toilet and clear the clog. I told them I didn't believe that was fair. They bounced me around on the phone between the office person and John and ultimately John hung up and now I'll need to use another company to try and fix the issue. Unwilling to try and stand behind their work, or at least review it as a courtesy. read more

If you are having plumbing problems do not use Grace Plumbing in Lake Mary. Grace Plumbing came out to fix a clogged drain pipe that was causing water to back up in the shower and flow out under the toilet onto the floor. The plumber came and charged $495.00 to remove the toilet and $595.00 to snake out the line, for a total of $1,090.00. The plumber was there a total of less than two hours. What a rip-off. That evening the shower flooded again as well as flooded the bathroom floor. The plumber came out the next morning indicated said he could see nothing wrong since the water was draining when he left. Called Grace Plumbing to get the sewer pipe cleaned again and the owner indicated there would be a charge for the plumber to come out and clean the pipe again since they did give a warranty on their work. The owner kept saying that we had put something down the drain to cause the continued flooding. I called another plumbing company the next day and they were able to clean the sewer pipe by going up on the roof and using one of the vent pipes and cleared the blockage using water pressure. This plumbing company gave us 30 day warranty for the work. The total charge for the job $230.00. I will never use Grace Plumbing and will not recommend them in the future. We will continue to use the second plumbing company in the future. read more

Exceedingly unprofessional. Stay Away! Made 3 different attempts to set an appointment where the tech did not show up AT ALL. On the 3rd attempt, after calling the tech (who was 25 minutes late) to get an arrival time, the tech John blamed me and started talking fast and aggressively saying "I called you and it went to voicemail so I didnt come. I need to talk to you before I can come to the appointment we set to give you a 'price estimate' because some customers have balked at our prices'" ..... I was floored. If you *need* to give me a price estimate in order to come to my house, then why give me an appointment time and ask me to text you my address without doing that? Another tech (Jim) said that he couldn't make a prior appointment time because I didn't give him my "city" despite giving him my address with zipcode. Does he not know that my address and zipcode are all that are needed to navigate here? That he can EASILY get my city WITH my zipcode ... AND YET my appointment was canceled over that? Geez Louise. If you want to have to jump through a bunch of hoops, explain your issue to multiple people, have techs get aggressive with you when you call them to ask for an eta, have them cancel your appointment 3 times for reasons like: they don't know how to use a zip-code or mobile phone, or have them tell you to text them your address followed by 'we dont use texting', then use Grace !!! If your cell phones are being paid for by your company then why can't you use them for text to speak with customers? Does it make more sense to text a customer who has tried to make multiple appointments or just to cancel them outright? Still have 2 broken toilets. read more

Called Grace Plumbing about a slab leak. First I talked to a nice guy who listened to my problem but wasn't the actual plumber. The plumber called me back a few minutes later to give an over the phone estimate. The estimate was extremely high, roughly double the cost then what had been quoted by 2 competitors. The plumbers was very unfriendly, I would almost say rude. When I asked questions to clarify the estimate and asked about an alternative way to fix my issue he did not listen at all, instead interrupted me, telling me to think about it and then he just hang up on me. Awful experience. They charged $495 to switch out a toilet on a weekday and did not dispose of old one or even caulk the new one. This was a labor charge only as i had purchased the new toilet at Home Depot. Two men to installed it yet only one brought the new toilet upstairs-dragging and banging it up the stairs as he went. Left the old toilet upstairs. I could have had Home Depot install for less than half what i paid them. Was never told up front how much it would be which i will accept the fault there. I should have asked for an estimate. They knew i was working with my insurance company due to a leak and they knew i was nervous about the situation and i feel like they took full advantage of me and the position i was in. Next time i will search more thoroughly before hiring and comparative shop for estimates for sure. Please beware before hiring them for work at your home. Shady and unprofessional. No wonder insurance premiums are so high. read more
