My family and I have eaten here at least a half dozen times, and every time has been delightful. The service here has always been superb - courteous wait staff that friendly and efficient. Meals are large-portioned and a good value at the prices they charge. Ingredients are fresh, and dishes are generally delicious. Some selections are not the best we've ever had, but we've never had a bad meal. The atmosphere here is very good also- everything from the detailing of the chairs, the mirrors, comfortable and stylish wall seating, to the dimmer lighting. Good place for a first date, or special anniversary. We plan on coming back here again and again. With that said, looking at this restaurant's overall reviews, and some specific comments made from past patrons, I hope customers will come back and give this establishment a second or third try- this place really is a gem, and I'd hate for a great sit-down restaurant like East Moon to go under because of one bad experience with past visits. I recently visited East Moon Asian Bistro and left feeling a little disappointed. The food was just okay overall. The chicken satay is usually one of my favorites, but this time it didn't meet the standard I've come to expect. The sushi was good, but the avocado salad completely missed the mark -- the dressing was runny and lacked flavor. I was also surprised that on Mother's Day they weren't offering their usual Sunday happy hour pricing. Between that and the food quality, it honestly feels like the consistency is starting to slip. I have to say that I probably would not have returned if my friends didn't say they were meeting here. It's been almost 9 years... at least from this experience, they seem to have moved in a positive direction. My friends got there first, and it was my first time in that plaza in a long time... reception still drops to near zero haha. It was a Friday night, and the place wasn't full, but there were multiple people at the bar and multiple tables full, including one large party. I remember back in the day they had happy hour until 8:00... looks like it's been adjusted to 7:00 now Monday-Saturday, and until 9:00 on Sunday... neat! I absolutely love East Moon Asian Bistro! I've been coming here for at least 10yrs, when my Asian BFF first introduced me. I figured if she loved it then it has to be good..LOL! If you love or even just like Asian Fusion cuisine, then absolutely give this restaurant a try. The food is delicious. Their sushi and entrees are top notch. Last time out, my mom had the shrimp and scallop dinner while I had the crispy duck. Both were outstanding. I'm a duck lover and this duck was fried to perfection. The restaurant itself reminds you of most sit down strip mall Asian cuisine restaurants, so nothing special there. They do have a nice sized bar when you first enter, so if you want to dine solo, the bar looks cool enough. Service matched the food. Employees held both doors open while I navigated my elderly mom into the restaurant. I was impressed that they saw us coming from inside and showed that type of initiative!! For me, if the doors and windows of a restaurant are dirty and greasy, that's a red flag as to the cleanliness of the kitchen. I always trust my instincts when choosing where to eat. This place could use some tips in this area.. If I managed any food establishment, cleanliness would be my #1 requirement, including that staff wash their hands frequently. I often wonder just how often chefs/cooks wash their hands during their shift. She got the Pinot Grigio which was crisp and clean. 5 stars! The California roll with a little spice and shrimp tempura were right on point! Spicy where it needed to bring the kick and crunchy where it needed to bring the crunch! Great presentation and just delicious! 5 stars! So on to the entrees, which oh by the way were still under the lunch prices! We selected Mongolian Beef, Shrimp Panang and Chicken Pad Thai. All the dishes were filled with fragrant flavors and just over the top scrumptious. We agreed we LOVED them all but our favorite dish was the Panang Shrimp. Ooh! The curry was the bomb. It must have the coconut, and some other earthy goodness, with plump juicy shrimp, onions, broccoli and peppers. We tried to eat it all but our bellies failed us! Thankfully we were able to split the leftovers for another meal. Since this was a lunch menu, we also got the salad with the yummy ginger dressing. I went to dinner here with a friend. The servers are friendly and attentive. The interior is clean and well maintained. I ordered lemon pepper chicken as my appetizer. The chicken did not have a lemon pepper flavor. It just tasted like thickly battered fried chicken. For my entree, I ordered walnut shrimp and fried rice. There shrimp were just okay. The fried rice was dry, lacked flavor, and I didn't see any egg in the rice. I returned the fried rice and replaced it with white rice which was not dried out and tasted better than the fried rice. The friend I dined with returned her fried rice too. Her second bowl of fried rice was not dry, had flavor and it definitely had egg in it. I'm not sure why there was such a significant difference in the tow orders of fried rice. The second bowl was significantly better. read more

Entrees are loaded with fresh veggies that still have a bite to them. Yet the sauce is too overpowering and can become too sweet. I normally ask for lite onion and lite sauce. The brown rice option continues to support healthy eating. Drinks were being offered when we patronized the establishment-Tokyo tea: a Long Island option liked and a cognac drink: name not remembered, but also liked. Our server seemed to be filling in for someone else. Not bad, service and the restaurant was relatively empty. I mention this because the bar was slow and it took a while for both food and drinks to hit the table. Space can accommodate most any type of event, occasion, or just the reason to physically sit in a restaurant for a meal. I recommend you give it a try and let me know what you think! read more

This place has horrendous service. We waited thirty minutes before anyone even asked for a drink order while there were less than 10 people in the restaurant. They also failed to disclose that there is a peanut based dressing on the salad in place of ginger and caused my little sister to have a severe allergic reaction. After being seated for more than 40 minutes with just drinks and appetizers no one had taken our order. I would not recommend this restaurant AT ALL. read more

The service from the moment you walk in is very warm and inviting. We decided to sit at the bar but wait service & carryout is available as well. Now to the food... Five stars everything was tasty and full of flavor... we were also served a side salad with our meal. I started with the spicy salmon and it was top 5 and not five ranking of all time best sushi I ever had... now the entree I got the Singapore rice noodles, A1 the taste was great and the beef was tender...my friend had the general Tao shrimp she loved it. So someone in my community recommended this spot. I ordered via door dash twice and in store pick up once. The egg foo young with shrimp was amazing! I wanted to try something different this day and it didn't disappoint. I ordered shrimp and broccoli, it was ok because they added all these other veggies. So I thought the next time I was in the mood for Chinese food I would stop by. I ordered a shrimp and broccoli lunch special. It was ok because it was kinda cold. Today we ordered Diamond Roll, Christmas Roll, and Oshinko Roll to accompany the regulars: Philadelphia Roll and Spicy Tuna. All were fresh and delish and beautifully presented. Enjoyed the real crab(spicy) and mango on the Diamond roll. Also enjoyed the crunch of the oshinko roll. Would order both again. Definitely am blessed to have this place a mile down the road. Yes l know that you may still find a few in Montgomery County, and in Virginia too. I don't live in those places. So this restaurant ia a treat. I had the beef lo mein the beef was very tender. Food came out good and hot, and plenty of veggies to boot. Could use more seasoning and the table soy sauce was like water. They have raw fish bar if you want that. I used to love this place but I don't know if COVID made the quality go down drastically. They are extremely skimpy on ingredients. For example, this Christmas roll is supposed to have masago on it and this is all they put. Not sure why though because the prices have still gone up. Honestly this place is a hidden gem. Now I'm not gonna say it's the most amazing place I've ever been but the value and drink specials make me a regular customer. Did I mention the drink specials?!? Everyday of the week you have something to look forward to like "Martini Mondays". With $5 martinis, Monday just got a lot better. Then the sushi is very fairly priced. Located in a strip where a variety of stores are anchored and where Texas Roadhouse is the popular kid on the block, East Moon seems to take a back seat. It shouldn't be overlooked, it's no slouch in the Asian food department. I came once before a few years back and wasn't too impressed but decided to give it another try today. I'm glad I did because the second time was a charm. During the lunch hours, the restaurant was virtually empty, so we had the pick of the litter for where we wanted to sit. East Moon isn't as fancy as Grace's further down the road, but it is clean, well kept, the food is delicious, and the prices are more affordable. We ordered a few sushi rolls and the Sesame and General Tso's Chicken for entrées. Delicious! The portion sizes were very filling; so much so, I brought the majority of mine home. Service was prompt and respectful, at times a little too prompt. I really have no complaints. I did see that they have some happy hour specials that would be worth checking out. If you're ever yearning for some good Asian food, or if the wait at Texas Roadhouse is too long, (which is usually all the time) give East Moon Asian Bistro a try. Out of the 3 local East Moon locations(columbia, glen burnie) that I have been to in the area this one by far is the most disappointing. From the online ordering system, to the pickup process and the food itself it seems like everything about this place is an afterthought other than the Bar. The chicken in my pad thai was undercooked. You could could absolutely see a grill ring and a raw center, more like 8/9ths, in the meat. The "brown sauce" for my second entree looked more of bourbon glaze with chilies in it, but I really couldnt say what it was because i refused to open the container to taste/sniff/use it. It wasn't what I was expecting. The only points I will give them and the reasoning for the 1 star minus having to rate them anything to review is the containers they use for the entree's allowed room to add or mix the meal. Love this place!!! Best Asian food in the area. I love their Sesame Tofu. They have AMAZING fried rice. We also get the Crab Rangoon frequently, and Orange Chicken. Recently tried the Chicken Lettuce Wraps, substituting chicken for tofu. So delicious! They have a super safe system with COVID adjustments. There's a whole wall between you and the employee area. However the line of people standing outside waiting for food were confused. For example, do you still have to wait even if you ordered and paid already, and just want to pick up?
