I surprised the kids and brought them to Graeters instead of Baskin-Robbins. Well whenever I got out of the car things were not as expected. Nobody in the car wanted Graeters anymore they were mad, throwing tantrums. You see, Graeters carries a bad name with my children however, I told him this is the best spot to go in town. While they didn't exactly believe my word, I dragged them in and told them if they didn't wanna get anything then you know don't get anything. But me personally? I'm gonna eat the best ice cream in town. upon arrival they did not have as great of a selection as Baskin-Robbins has in my kids eyes. However, quickly the kids decided on cotton candy and birthday cake ice cream. On the other hand I went with a dark chocolate fudge brownie while my brother went with the brownie chocolate sundae. you see the service was OK. The staff seemed to somewhat care, but after my kids took their first bite they didn't know how to stop. Well, they wouldn't admit that it was the best ice cream they've ever had in Lexington, Kentucky. But I firmly believe it was. I saw this place was around the block from where we had dinner and going to a different location while on our trip I was excited for more Graeter's! It was delicious and we don't have it in NY so I will miss them lol. It's rare for us to sort of go back to a place even though it's a different location, so you can tell this place was good. I went here today on my 1 day off with my 5 kids ages 4,3,6,12,7 my 3 year old ordered milk chocolate chip and got mint chocolate chip that seems to be simple mistake until we give it back and she puts it back in the icecream tub like WTF do not get the mint chocolate chip ICECREAM and when she fixed and then I see she DID NOT fix anything she handed me just plain chocolate like this is not what I order I got to scared to say anything but I always go to yelp to show I care read more

I wanted something sweet after my lunch, and this place was next door. The person working helping me out was very friendly and knowledgeable about the flavors of the ice cream. She let me sample a few of the flavors. I ended up with the limited flavor - Flying Pigs Tracks - it has peanut butter cups mixed with fudge swirl ice cream. The numerous chip flavors of Graeter's do indeed deliver just the right amount of sweetness, and it is an excellent flavor selection. On other accounts, this location wasn't the greatest, with my checkout experience being needlessly slow, and the cone not really being worth it. The flavors of my black cherry and my mint came through. I don't think this chain will compete with the best of Lexington, but it definitely satisfies a need. read more

I tried 6 different flavors which were all great, but even still, I didn't taste anything that separated it from brands like Blue Bell and Mayfield. The texture was definitely different due to the process they use to make it but nothing that would make me order pints at the internet price that is charged. Amazing ice cream that is super creamy and rich in flavor! After my first visit here, I knew I would be back soon because the ice cream was delicious. When we first walked in the staff members greeted us and offered us samples of any flavors we wanted to try. They also explained all of the seasonal items and different flavors. About half of the menu has their signature chocolate chips in them. While deciding on our orders, we also noticed a large case of ice cream cakes and to go pints available for purchase. I ended up deciding on the black raspberry chocolate chip and my boyfriend had peanut butter chocolate chip. Both options were great and I can definitely see why the black raspberry is the top selling flavor! The price for one scoop is around $4 which seems a bit on the higher end. Buying a pint of the ice cream at Kroger might be a more economical option, but nothing beats the hand dipped ice cream here! Another thing to note is that there are several tables inside and a few picnic tables out front. There is a parking garage, but make sure you have an employee verify your ticket so the fee is waived. Also, if you download the Graeter's app you can get rewards for all of your purchases. You even get a free scoop when you first download the app (no purchase required)! read more

Graeters is my all-time favorite ice cream shop. I've had ice cream around the world and tried so many delicious flavors but their cookies and cream flavor still wins my heart. It's the best cookies and cream ice cream out there in my honest opinion :-) A close second is there S'mores flavor and I've had that one couple of times including tonight for National S'mores Day. Yum! A bonus is that this store its open until 11 PM on the weekends. Definitely give it a try and see what flavors win you over. Wowie wowzers! Finally starting to get some warm weather in the Lexington area and believe me everyone is better for it cause they're heading to Graeters to get some ice cream. Went there for the first time in a while because Im not crazy about ice cream but if I want some out a shop I make sure Graeters is the spot I get it. Why? Because theres a large selection of flavors to choose from and new flavors are constantly added and removed so if you like a flavor in stock get it while you can! The staff has always been kind to me, they're all very patient and have big smiles on their face everytime someone comes in. If its your first time at Graeters I would recommend getting a waffle cone instead of a normal cone cause it only costs around a quarter extra and believe me the extra 25 cents is worth it.. Also parking is strange lmaooo. So if its your first time I would advise going to the parking lot up the street and parking there by the Italian restaurant and little outlet stores around the corner cause the facility parking cost money, however, you can ask a Graeters employee for a parking pass for the garage and then your parking will be free. Graeters is by far the BEST ice cream you will ever have. I was so sad when Orange Leaf replaced the old Romany Rd location, and rejoiced when Graeters opened back up on Euclid! As far as flavors go- Black Raspberry Chip is a fan-favorite, but you honestly can't go wrong with any choice. This particular visit I got the Coconut Almond Chocolate Chip, which is one of my (many) favorites. And any time "chip" is used in a flavor name, be prepared for huuuge chunks of chocolate! Graeters is the only place in Lexington where I am more than happy to dish out my money to get a scoop (or two) of ice cream. Normally my choice of indulgence is more economically driven. It involves stuffing my face in a tub of ice cream purchased from local grocery store. My go-to flavor is Mocha Chip. I haven't had better mocha chip ice cream anywhere else. Black Raspberry Chip is another good choice. I enjoy it even though I usually steer away from fruity flavors. I've been going to Graeters since high school. It's been with me through happiness and tears. It was saddening when froyo started to replace ice cream places. I'm so grateful that we still have 2 Graeters in town! read more

I'm only giving 4 stars because of the traffic issue. I'd rather go to the Hamburg location because of traffic but it's too far out of the way. I can pull into the heavy chase parking structure free (nice) but it puts a lot of time when I just want to stop, grab a cone, and leave. Heaven forbid I I do get a spot on the street- the traffic is so dense and they don't want to let you pull out either from the two hour parking or leaving the garage. The ice cream is incredible and worth the parking trouble most days. I looooove the black raspberry chocolate chip and just recently discovered the blueberry pie special - wow, it is so good! I don't even like blueberry pie or pie in general. The taste in this is so refreshing, the combo of flavors are really nice and just go well as an ice cream flavor. Been here countless times. Their ice creams are smooth and rich. Get the waffle cones because they are only 30cents more than the regular. Their staff is always attentive and patient. I will forever love graeters! Our family grew up around a graeters right by our home and we would always go for a scoop, whether it was when we got our report cards for a free scoop or when our family would come to visit. My all time favorites have been black raspberry chip and toffee chip. The cinnamon that they have during the winter time is absolutely delicious too! Their seasonal flavors are always a treat to sample!! I would also highly recommend their ice cream cakes, it's a family tradition for each of our birthdays to have a black raspberry chip ice cream cake and they never disappoint. This place is over priced. There are not as many flavor choices as I was expecting, and $10+ for two people to have an ice cream treat is just too much. Milkshakes are practically the price of a small meal. I had chocolate gelato. It was average. I've had better. This is a new family favorite for us. My wife and I took our two kiddos here and it was wonderful. The young people working were very professional and knowledgeable and very kind to our kids. They let us try several flavors before we selected our cones. The place is very cute and perfect for a 20 minute ice cream stop. I would highly recommend this place. I just love graters. I love the seasonal options and the flavors just pop! I love fruity flavors and have not been disappointed with one yet. I don't like a super heavy creamy taste and Grater's has a great balance of creamy and labeled flavor. Their waffle cones are perfect though I have noticed at this location that they put less Ice Cream in their scoops than locations we have visited in the other cities. Lexington finally got their Graeter's back after the franchise contract debacle. And since Orange Leaf took almost every single old Graeter's location, they had to find a new place to open up shop. Let me say, that if this location was open while I was in college, I'd be 10 pounds heavier. Walkable from campus (long, but walkable) and directly across from one of the best restaurants in town (Bourbon n Toulouse). Same delicious ice cream in a modernized shop - much better than when the old locations were winding down and removed pretty much everything from their walls and menus. Third times a charm. Great service and ice cream:) Customer service here is awful. I have given this place two tries now and are really disappointed. I get it this is a very popular and busy ice cream shop. However I have seen wet mops with more personality than some of these kids working behind the counter. We were not looking for the singing of cold stone staff however not even a hello or a smile. Also both times I could not get my money out right away to pay while trying to balance a few ice cream cones. The high school employee saw that I was struggling and just starred at me. I finally asked if he could just hold one of the ice cream cones so I could get out my credit card/cash. Since we moved here Everyone has raved about the ice cream. The ice cream is good.
