I have had some underwhelming experiences at Graffiti but tonight took the cake. Entered an half full establishment and was told we should seat ourselves. No clean tables so I went ahead and cleaned one off for us. Proceeded to sit for 15 minutes with 4 waitresses and 1 waiter making eye contact with us but not even having someone come over and drop off glasses of water or acknowledge us. Got up and they all watched us walk out. That's a lot of staff for a half full bar to ignore a table after clearly realizing we were there since the waiter told us to seat ourselves wherever we wanted. No more return trips for me. read more

Loud, obnoxious, and unapologetic. Come, the place is built around a graffiti theme! Don't suddenly wonder why it's loud and unrefined! Stepping off my soapbox... Love the nachos. As some have notes, they come on something akin to a trash bin lid. 4 adult appetites along with 4 $2 sides and we were all set! The nachos weren't spectacular, but they were good and make up for the wow factor in size. The mac and cheese was very good ($2 side, bowl sized portion). Tots we're crispy outside and soft inside (another $2 side). Chili was solid as well. Burgers: only actually had two burgers here. They are messy (again, you likely at a high top table, bar or picnic table), but enjoyable. I haven't found that one burger I HAVE to have, but they are solid. I'd go 5 stars when a food item has a wow factor. Right now that's represented in size of some portions (nachos) and environment (2 blocks from the beach, tons and tons of tvs, loud music). Plan on returning many more times. Get there early for no wait, but less of a fun crowd as well! read more

The Burgers are typical beach tourist burgers. Good but can be found anywhere. I'm giving them a 5 star review because the cheese curds are honestly addicting. I was charged over$40 for a cheeseburger. It was the side order of wings I really wanted. They did not have wings available. They also had no way to actually cook a burger. After several hours I was served a ground beef patty accompanied with rotten produce . I think if you catch these folks early on delivery day you have all the right makings of a decent meal, but they definitely won't be able to make it for you. Was very unhappy with my recent experience. I asked for my burger medium well and it came out medium and very soggy. Then I was splashed with dish water by the waitress at the bar. She didn't even notice and I didn't finish my drink because of that. Didn't want a drink with dish water in it. Oh yeah and it splashed me in the face. Graffiti Junktion is a burger bar built into the skeleton of a former Burger King - you'll have to trust me on that, because with the insides ripped out, the building is hardly recognizable as such, and instead is a mess of corrugated metal, concrete and exposed beams that shoots for "hip industrial" and lands closer to "Home Depot stockroom". The exposed beams/ceilings/everythings also reflect every sound ever, so even at about 20% full for lunch we were still having to yell to hear each other. It's probably a good atmosphere for weekend bar, but the burgers here range from $10-14, so I'm trying to judge them as a pricey burger place and not just a place to do Jello shots at 2am. They DO have 27 (twenty-seven) TVs, though, so your show is probably on RIGHT NOW. So, the burgers. I ordered the Iron City, which has a fried egg, american cheese, fries, onions and Canadian bacon (bafflingly, more of their burgers come with Canadian bacon than regular bacon). The burger itself was overly thick, underseasoned and pretty dry for medium - most equivalent to a Cheeseburger Charley's, or perhaps a Hardees' Monster burger. Were it $8-9, it'd be fine, but the dang thing is $12, which puts it in the range of Poe's or even Ted's, both of which are far better. The egg was nice and runny (hard yolks on burgers are a bummer), but it didn't really make up for the rest of the sandwich. There's nothing else about the burger that justifies the price - the bun isn't toasted and the Canadian bacon (again, why) isn't strong or salty enough to provide much in the way of taste. The fries were fine; nothing particularly notable there. There's also a variety of wraps and salads available, which I may try if I end up back here, but I'm not actively seeking out another trip to Graffiti Junktion anytime soon. read more

THIS PLACE IS TOO LOUD. I know it is a sports bar, but the acoustics are ridiculous. I advise sitting outside, unless you want to yell. On to the food... I appreciated the option for naked, crispy skin wings. They salvaged the meal: I don't know where their Nachos won their "award", but if you want a $15 bag of chips and barely any toppings, this would be it. Skip them. Didn't even get to try it. We got there and there were plenty of people waiting and the door said they would open at noon. When it was noon, people tried to get in but they were still closed so I called and asked when they would open - if they were evening opening. The woman said "yeah, we are just waiting on a couple more staff members, so I don't know when we will open...it may be 12:30." Everyone, including us, left...not a way to run a business. read more

We came here without any plans of where we were going to eat at, we just saw it as we were driving. We are very glad that we stopped! Nice and relaxed atmosphere. Our server gave great recommendations. The burgers and fries/tots that my family got were wonderful. I chose the veggie burger and zucchini fries with some trepidation. However, they were fantastic! If you like buffalo, the buffalo chicken tots are the way to go. Not too slick and the bacon and bleu cheese compliment the buffalo well. Could be a little crispier. Can't go wrong with the Mahi wrap either, or any of the burgers. A solid jax beach staple with a good atmosphere AND, they are dog friendly. The bottomless bloody Mary's and mimosas are always a good Sunday hangover cure too. read more

My in laws, wife and I tried to eat lunch here today. Tried being the key word. We walked in and it was so incredibly loud that we could not even talk to each other at our table. The waitress could not hear us and we could hear nothing she said unless she leaned in and yelled. Some people may be in to this but at 12:15 for lunch on a Friday that is not what we are looking for. We ended up leaving and going to cruisers for our burger fix. Too bad. I was really looking forward to trying this place. You would think businesses would learn from the failing Abercrombie model. Okay. Let me start with I was extremely excited to try this place based on their menu. However, after reading some reviews, I was disappointed, but decided to try it anyway. We came in on a Wednesday night and sat outside because everyone was right. Inside is extremely loud. It took forever for a waitress to greet us. We ordered beer and I ordered a Pinot Grigio. After awhile, the drinks came and the waitress left again. So we had to wait a bit for her to take our order. I was infused, because it wasn't that busy. But, she was very nice. She took our order finally. I ordered the HOME MADE veggie burger. I emphasize that for reasons you will understand in a minute. Everyone else ordered burgers and a wrap. After 20 minutes, the waitress came over and told me they were out of veggie burgers. 1. Why did she not know this already? 2. Why did it take 20 minutes for her to find out? 3. If they are home made, how can you be out of them? In any case, I decided to order the turkey burger instead and by then, I needed another glass of wine so I ordered that as well. A few minutes later she came out and told me they were out of wine. Huh? Well come to find out, I guess they weren't exactly out of it, but they didn't have any that were cold. Huh? Hey bartender or barback....if you're out of wine or running low or just poured your last glass, go ahead and put a few more bottles in that fridge or stock up at night. Anyway...fast forward to another 29 minutes when the food finally came out. Yep, 40 minutes all together. Needless to say, that made the wrap and fries my hubs ordered cold. Why did they wait to bring everyone's food? So now we had cold food except mine. The turkey burger was good. The chicken buffalo wrap was not. The fries were ok. All in all...not a great experience but I will say the staff was very nice. However they did charge me wrong and had to get the manager to fix it. Tried this place out. We paid at the most $14 for a burger and fries. Burger was ok. I built my own veggie burger with and it was good. Homemade and was $11.50. I ordered the zucchini fries as a side. They were pretty good especially if you like zucchini. The service was not the best. Took our drink order quick but forever to take our food order. Then never checked on us until we were finished. Will I come back? Idk, maybe if I want to watch a game and only drink. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at Grafitti Junktion. My wife and I ordered a couple of hamburgers from Carley and waited, and waited, and waited. She would stop by every 20 minutes or so to apologize but the food never came. People who were seated long after us got their food but we finally left after about 80 minutes. Obviously, someone lost our order but neither Carley nor another waiter I asked, cared enough to truly check out the situation. To make matters worse, I tried to call the mgr. (Trevor, I was told) later that day. I left a message but he NEVER called back. A day later I tried to call again (was told the mgr. is Nick) and stayed on hold for 21 minutes and he never came to the phone and has yet to call back. You should know that this visit out to lunch was my wife's first outing after major cancer surgery and it was supposed to be something special. Shame on Graffiti for ruining the day. I certainly hope age discrimination isn't at the heart of this (at 72 we were the only over 40 people there). I strongly suggest that anyone reading this avoid this uncaring, poorly managed restaurant. read more

The following review was published under my byline in the Florida Times-Union on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015. This is an original, unabridged version of that review. There's no shortage of over-the-top gourmet burger emporiums on the First Coast. Committed meataholics can get their fix at local spots like The Blind Rabbit or fast-casual chains such as BurgerFi. Now an Orlando-based chain wants to leave its mark on the local burger scene, too. They're quite literal about leaving marks. In October, Graffiti Junktion opened its first area eatery at a former Burger King at North Third Street and North Fifth Avenue in Jacksonville Beach. You'd be hard-pressed to identify any sign of the building's former self, aside from ... well ... the shell of the old Burger King sign, which still looms high over A1A. The new edifice is all sports bar, complete with its namesake wall scrawlings, which creates a similar feel to another Orlando fast-casual export, Tijuana Flats. Polished concrete floors, picnic-table seating and high-top tables dotting an open-air (and pet-friendly) front end make this decidedly beach-casual game-watching mecca. Speaking of which, you won't miss the flat screens. There are 35 in the place, and there's nary a vantage point where you won't be bathed in the glow of some sports spectacle. They connect to the dominant U.S. major-league satellite packages and UFC. The menu gets as colorful as the interior décor, with a healthy selection of starters, sandwiches and wraps, salads, Mexican wraps and quesadillas, and of course craft burgers with 100 percent USDA Angus beef in 8-ounce patties. Choose from 10 pre-configured models or build your own. Alternative protein seekers can opt for bison, chicken, turkey or veggie patty options. Our hungry crew headed out for a Tuesday-night nosh and dug in with three starters. The Zucchini Fries ($6) were long, crispy planks with a rugged texture thanks to a dusting of Parmesan, and served with a dipper of horseradish to bring the flavor (they needed a pinch of salt). The Buffalo Chicken Tots ($10) was a large sphere of crispy tater tots surrounding a Buffalo-sauced melee of crispy chicken chunks, blue cheese and bacon. The core was fork-territory tangy and an addictive munchies cure. And who can review a sports bar without sampling the wings? Graffiti Junktion's renditions come on platters of six, 12 or 24 ($7, $12 and $23, respectively), naked or hand-breaded, and in Buffalo, barbecue and honey mustard flavors. We tried the naked Buffalo style, which boasted plenty of meat with a nice all-around spicy bite at the end. Entrée-wise, my friend termed the Monterey Chicken Sandwich ($10) a taco on a bun, with a tasty seasoned breast of chicken, guacamole and cheddar (substituted for Swiss cheese). My evening's monument to meat, the Austin City Burger ($10.50), was a vertical tower of beef adorned with meaty chili, pepper jack cheese and jalapeño slices that any carnivore would admire. If you plan to consume any burger here by hand, though, keep some wet naps or the tabletop napkin dispenser close by. They're a juicy handful. Graffiti's sole sweet treat, a soft-baked, cookie dough-studded Blondie ($7) served with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce, was just enough for two but not over the top. It was a delicious start to what will hopefully be other dessert options in the future. Graffiti serves up happy hour twice daily, from 4 to 7 p.m. and from 10 p.m. to close. Choose from $4 well liquors and house wines, $2.25 domestic beer, along with daily branded liquor specials available at any time. You'll find familiar local crafts on draft, from Green Room, Engine 15, Intuition and Bold City. Chances are, Graffiti Junktion will have a flat screen and drink special just for you, with a variety of crowd-pleasing bar bites and more ostentacious, bigger-bite burgers that will last you through the game, whatever yours might be. I came here with my fiancée and my dog because we were driving somewhere else and this place looked good. The prices here are nice, as was the seating area. Called an order in for a medium well cheeseburger to go at noon. Arrived at 12:20 to give them time to cook it. Female bartender said my order would "be right out." Finally it did 30 minutes later. She apologized, said the kitchen was backed up because of a large group. I never saw a "large group" during the 30 minutes I waited. I took the burger home, saw it was rate to medium rare, pink throughout. Checked the ticket that was in the box. The time on the ticket showed the order was placed by the bartender AFTER I ARRIVED. Amazing! We called early to ask if they took reservations, which they didn't, but since we had a group of 15 (I believe the manager) Tony gladly helped us out. Him and staff were all extremely welcoming and great! Even with a group of 15, they didn't miss a beat and all the food came out quick, no mistakes, and delicious. Especially the Buffalo chicken tots and Alabama burger. Everyone loved the food which can be difficult to do! They also have great gluten free options including a gluten free bun which was one of the best I've had. It was also a fun and laid back ambiance with great music. I have driven by here numerous times since moving to Jacksonville and always wanted to stop. I'm glad we did because today's special was blackened mahi and it was awesome! I read a few reviews of people complaining about the buns not being good but mine was perfect. The fried zucchini was da bomb too! My side of fruit was sweet and fresh. All in all everything was great so I don't know what's up with the bad reviews. I can't wait to go back and try one of those giant juicy burgers I saw! read more

I've eaten here twice and both times the burgers are a sloppy mess. There seems to be something about the buns that they use that causes the burger to disintegrate in your hands while you eat it. It just makes a mess and the burgers are not very flavorful. Also, on our second visit, the fries came out cold. Their tater-tots are pretty good though. So if you want a lousy burger with a good side, this place is for you! Beyond that: that bar is pretty standard for what you will find at Jacksonville Beach. Nothing negative to report, but nothing note-worthy either. In all, its a pretty "meh" experience. read more
