TLDR; amazing place and layout very affordable amazing service and has a verity of things…read more I absolutely love it here I've been here twice and I'm glad to say it's amazing I was worried due to the other reviews that said people here are transphobic and a bit weird towards women and I'm glad to say it's not like that it's nothing like that anymore Atleast They have comics, manga, graphic novels and coloring books along side of necklaces, figures and gems(although I'm not sure the authenticity of them) and other things (be careful if you bring children in though cause there are some porn comics) Everything is really well priced and today they had a 50% off stand outside with comics graphic novels and manga the avg price of the paperback comics are like 5$ and below while the softcovers can range from 30-50$(from what I saw) not sure how much the manga is while the graphic novels are around 17$ they have a 1$ section of comics and their figures are around 230-maybe 400$ it's very affordable The service was amazing when I went yesterday for some rogue comics although they ran out due to popularity they helped me find some comics where she's heavily featured in and while checking out they ask if you want a cover for the comic and they're very welcoming and friendly I love the layout they maybe a small store but it's very neat and not cluttered there's a lot of verity 100/10 would recommend

Terry understands his customers and demographics. In this little shop you will find a wide selection catering to your popular comics of superhero titles, your classic reads like Sandman, your newer classic reads like Saga, independent comics like Umbrella Academy, and so forth and so on. He is very meticulous on what he orders and is a great source of information about the industry and genre. No wonder he has many loyal customers. New comics, comes in every Wednesday, are well labeled so you know what is new. On a rack he has an assortment of collected trade paperbacks. I guess it's clear this isn't a "card shop," it's a scalpers storefront. Don't go here looking for Lorcana--guessing the margins are too low. Except for their singles, which they sell for $2-4....crazy pricing for Lorcana. Anyways, i won't be back. Will have to continue my search for a card shop that's ethical and somewhat reasonable. --------- Edit in response to business reply: 1) i agree conversation could go a long way. But when your pricing on a brand new Pokémon set (which doesn't have a set market yet) is already 3x MSRP, what productive conversation can happen? It's just a straight up gouge. I'm not naive to expect to get everything at MSRP, but i think 3x markup 2 days post launch is unreasonable. 2) i did ask about Lorcana. I was told you "don't carry much" and "didn't have any right now." 3) you seem to be implying that you're aware prices are high and can then be negotiated lower. If that's how you want to do it that's your prerogative, just understand that's offputting for new customers. It's hard to want to establish a relationship and have a conversation when the first impression is being taken advantage of. And when your response to pricing questions is "well the hobby is thriving!" I don't think that's off base.

The back of the store has the manga stuff. Great place to find someone knowledgeable about comics. It has lots to look through and while it's not as cheap as big stores it has things you won't find in these other places. They could have more back issues of comics but that's the only thing.

Was at the Graham Cracker comics at 3162 N. Broadway, Chicago, IL 60657 looking for a copy of the latest issue of the new Immortal Hulk (which was out) so I reviewed the shelves to see if there was anything else I might want to buy. I picked up a couple issues of Green Arrow, but I wanted to sample the book before making my decision to buy it and add it to my collection. As I was reading it I heard an angry voice from behind the counter say "hey you might want to put the book down, because if you're not going to buy it you could get in trouble as you're on cameras." Yikes. I asked: "is this a store policy?" The clerk told me that it was an industry standard, which is a blatant lie. I was shocked. I've been shopping and buying comic books for over 20 years and never heard of a policy like this. I regularly shop at Alley Cat comics in Andersonville and the friendly, family owned people have always let me browse their comics before making the decision to buy them. If an art dealer wants to sell art, typically he lets the public view it before making the decision to purchase it. Instead this little jerk behind the counter acted like Doctor Octopus by threatening to call the police on me because I wanted to sample his product before making the decision to purchase it. I wound up buying those issues of Green Arrow because I didn't want the Red Skull over by the counter to waste the time of the police by calling them over to my apartment because I wanted to sample a freaking comic book. Please, if you value your life and liberty in Chicago, ditch shopping at Graham Cracker Comics in Lakeview and head over to your friendly neighborhood comic book shop at Alley Cat Comics in Andersonville, where the values and ideals of Spiderman and Captain America reign supreme. My first time I came to this store during their 50% off sale back issues. I was told by other store clerks in other Graham Crackers Comics stores that this Lakeview branch had a lot of back issues. So I came here during their 50% off sale. There were indeed a lot of back issues, much of which were 0.50¢ modern bargain bins in the basement of their store. But they also have a lot of silver age comics mostly in VG to GD condition. I was told by other Graham Cracker Comics that their Lakeview branch is the only location that buys comic books from their customers. The customer staff were very nice and friendly. After I purchased my comic books, I told them that I was a regular customer at their Edgewater branch store and I purchased comics from their online store before. One final note, if you live far from the Lakeview neighborhood and this store location, you should know that parking in that area is a real pain. I would advise against driving your own personal vehicle to this neighborhood. Use the CTA, UberX, or Lyft if you want to visit this store or other businesses in this neighborhood. read more

This place is really falling apart. I brought my Amazing Spiderman 1 to 16 to possibly sell. The kid said he could only give me 50 bucks each. I was like, come on that's straight out theft. I'm sorry I couldn't give you anymore, he said. Well is there anyone else to look at them, I asked. Nah, you could go out to one of the stores in the burbs. He said. I moved to Lincoln Park few months ago and I was very happy to see a comic store close to my apt. I am big comic fan, but unfortunately don't have a lot of free time to read.Graham Crackers brought me back to my childhood with great verity of comics flash, superman, spiderman, batman.....etc. Plus they have figurines of major comic characters, I thought that was very cute. There has recently been a change in management at this Graham Crackers location and that has been a big disappointment. I will say that the new people are still very nice and helpful and this store is still very clean and organized. The only reason I am giving so few stars is because the two older guys who worked there were so great and I will miss them. With that, these guys are great and I will continue to shop there. read more

A lot of comics and back issues. You can find anything you need (why?) because everything is in alphabetical order (but it is separated in Marvel and DC and Indies and other stuff) and if you can not find anything just ask the people at the counter and they will order it for you. A lot of toys and shirts, very organized. But the only thing that bugs me is their "No reading the comic books" sign on a lot of their racks. read more

i hate this company. if you want a new and hot book expect to pay 4x what its worth if you dont get one of the 5 copies they offer on new comic day. If you like a store without a soul this is for you. If you like the way walmart is killing the indepent stores then shop graham cracker. its the walmart of comic shops. I'm not always a fan of Graham Crackers, but this shop is run by somebody who understands that there's more to comics than just Marvel and DC. It's a good place to go for both current books and odd back issues, and they're always able to do inter-store transfers if they don't have exactly what you want. Great shop to visit. read more

G-Mart (the previous shop that occupied this space) was very close to me so it was my go to shop. I found their online ordering setup a bit old school, but man what I wouldn't give to have that back. At least G-Mart would send you e-mails updating you on your order. The Dark Tower system is definitely more modern, but there's no real notifications unless I'm missing something. No more discounts on subs either which is a real kick in the dick. I pre-ordered a comic months in advance, again no real e-mail communication. Showed up on the release date and they just straight up didn't have it. The good thing is they don't charge you ahead of time like G-Mart did. Luckily Challengers had it in stock though! The other day I got a new releases e-mail for the first time in the history of the store becoming Dark Tower and it's just some dudes name instead of Dark Tower so I thought it was junk. I dunno man, I usually like the real local mom and pop feel of stores because everything is a shitty chain these days, but this place may be a little too mom and pop. Hopefully I've just had bad luck with them but I'm back to a digital only comic reader for the time being.
