Impressed by the Yelp reviews, I decided to try this local joint out. We went for an early Sunday night dinner and had the chicken tenders (yup, they are really tender and tasty) and a burger (also great) with sweet potato fries (yum). The chicken tenders come with a sweet dipping sauce, I asked for a side of mayo with mine. We also had a side salad - I would skip that next time. The dressing was pretty gross - like it came out of a bottle. Because this place is a few blocks away from us, we'll go again for beers and unhealthy, yet delicious, food. I went to Grainne O'Malley's for trivia last night. Solid 4 star experience. I got a burger, which I might not get again because it was too round. They should flatten their patties more. It was well-cooked though, just hard to eat. $11 for a cheeseburger with fries isn't too bad. My husband got a salad he really liked, and friends got salad and a shepherd's pie--definitely real mashed potatoes on the shepherd's pie. Service was quick and friendly, and the place looks much nicer than it did when it was the Corrib. read more

My cousins and I recently took a trip to Boston. We came here for dinner around 7pm. There was at least 3 servers waiting on the area we were sat in with roughly 5 other tables with patrons. It took 20 minutes to just get a waitress over to order drinks. Then another 10-15 to get our food order in. Then ANOTHER 25 for our food to come out. And by food I mean, 2 pretzel appetizers and a burger. When it did come out, it was cold and they forgot one of the pretzel appetizers. When the waitress finally showed back up, there was no apology for forgetting the other appetizer. She just checked her book and asked me what I ordered. Then walked away. We then waited another 15-20 minutes for the waitress to come back around again, finally bringing another cold, dry pretzel appetizer. Easily the worst service and food I've ever had in Boston. Do not recommend for anyone expecting even a minuscule amount of customer service. read more

Went for dinner 6pm on Friday place was not completely packed yet . I had been there a few times before but my friend had not .The server was friendly but I felt rushed the whole time I was there. That was unfortunate because I just wanted to relax n catch up with friend .The food came out quick . It was ok ,not bad but nothing out of the ordinary .the drinks were good . I would have to stay the other two times i had been there more enjoyable . We might have stayed longer if we weren't asked if we wanted the check three times in a little over n hr. read more

Was in Town for work for the week and gave Grannie O"Malley"s a try. Great Irish Pub with a nice selection of Irish Whiskey and Beer. Food was good I ordered their fish and chips and it did not disappoint fresh fish! Can't forget the staff checked up on me regularly. Such a super chill place after a night of searching for the perfect bar. We tried a dive bar, a sports bar, and landed in this great spot. Had an excellent dinner at a very comfortable pub. The fish n chips were absolutely delicious. Very light and flakey with a tasty, light breading. The steak fries were also light, not greasy at all. This time out, I got a Black and Tan, Guinness and Smithwick's which was perfectly mixed and poured expertly. Definitely a must stop if your in the area. Highly, HIGHLY recommended. read more

I think what annoys me so much about this place is that it has so much potential and is (in my opinion) being squandered by terrible staff. I'll start with the pro's - The food is delicious and the beer selection decent. So its basically on par with any bar in Boston that has good food which I think is most these days. There are big TVs if you want to catch a game or booths in the back if you want to be away from the bar. They changed the name and interior from the Corrib most likely to reinvent themselves. But the same old bar staff (or at least some that are equally as unfriendly) are there, who make you feel like you should be grateful for getting a drink. I sat at the bar for about 2 hours and never once was asked if I wanted another drink, instead I always had to flag the barman down. I ordered food (which was delicious as I have previously stated) but was never asked if my food was OK, or if I enjoyed it, etc. In fact, I'd say I could count on two hands and feet the number of words the barman said to me the whole time I was there! I've been to Ireland - this isn't an Irish bar. An Irish bar is made by the bartenders and staff. They talk to you, get to know you and make you feel welcome. The name of the place, whether or not they sell Guinness, or have any gimmicky crap on the walls doesn't make it an Irish bar. Of course this is a Boston wide problem, not confined to Grainne O Malley's, but I feel like if they were going to the trouble of rebranding they'd at least try up the ante from the Corrib. One more thing I just can't let slide - On their Chalk board outside they list special drinks one called... "The Pornstar"... really? read more

Solid replacement for the longstanding Corrib Pub. Same feel, refreshed menu and a solid beer lineup. Went for the fish and chips, the fish was fresh and batter crispy. Opt for the sweet potato fries over standard ones. Also came with a curry slaw that was excellent. Steak tip sandwich was cooked perfectly, would have liked a toasted bun though. Priced right and excellent service, hope to see additional authentic pub fare added to the menu soon. read more

My boyfriend and I were walking around the neighborhood looking for a nice place to grab drinks, and we ended up here! Our Bartender Julie, was super nice and attentive! She kept on checking on everyone and was extremely pleasant to talk to. Our drinks were never empty, even though there was a full house! She even helped us pick out what to eat on the food menu, and it was a great choice. The food was a large portion and it was delicious. I got the chicken tenders and it came with a honey mustard sauce that I loved!The staff here really know how to do their job. I really liked how you can sit at the bar or at a table near the bar as well. The drink prices were also pretty cheap and the pour was definitely a stiff one! New addition to Harvard street in Brookline and I love this place! The staff is very attentive and warm. Making you feel welcome and at home no matter what time of day or night you arrive. Many different options on the menu and they have several different drink concoctions on top of the normal usual beers on tap. My favotires are the steak tip sandwhich and the chicken tenders. Went here with my two teens and it was perfect. Welcoming, great selection of beers, comfortable seating. The food was delicious: fish and chips just like we had in Ireland, the beef tips were perfectly cooked, and the quinoa salad was well balanced with flavor. The portion sizes are on the larger side, and overall we're incredibly happy with our meal. Highly recommended. My kids asked to go back, which isn't the norm for them. read more

Sorry to be a killjoy, but I just had an awful meal here. I'm sure it's a great bar for watching games, but I had a club sandwich on burnt toast. Pleezzz. When I complained the server asked if I wanted new bread! Well, of course, but I was with other people who probably did not want to wait for the cook to learn how to toast bread. I had heard that the chicken tenders were out of this world. This review is for the chicken tenders, which are hand battered to order and are perfectly juicy and have outstanding flavor. Honestly they're pretty damn close to perfect as far as chicken tenders go. We got them plain with the sauces on the side so we could mix and match and I recommend it. I haven't eaten dinner here yet but plenty of others have and it's gaining a reputation as a place with sneaky good food...maybe even better than some of its more foodie-centric neighbors down the block in Brookline Village. The food has been upgraded positively. New and creative dishes along with traditional fare is much welcomed. More interesting choices behind the bar along with a new wine stock is great. The staff is very efficient and they know what they are doing. They are spirited and friendly and make everyone feel welcome. As a neighborhood bar it has much to offer beyond stereotypes while still keeping that local feel. read more
